1. When all other cats fall, the dark one shall rise..
2. I guess some folks have a hard time drawing the line between IC and OOC - just 'cause ya play someone evil, and delve into that darker place for ideas, doesn't necessarily mean you, yourself, are a bad person. In the end, after all, it's all words, and so long as you aren't looking to cause actual, real sufferin', ain't nothin' to it.
3. !!UPDATE!! (Sorry for the double-post): The RP is currently going to go into suspended stasis in preparation for a reboot. This is due to the fact that it's dead in the water. The solution I've decided on here is to begin a series of application/auditions for FiM Cast characters intended for this particular RP - so anyone interested in portraying a FiM Character, here's your shot. The rules and such for this audition are in the top post, under the 3 segment. It's a pretty straight-forward process, so good luck!
4. Bioware is a community? That's new. I always envisioned it as being more like a violent, angry hive of wasps that starts stinging anyone who dares imply that they aren't perfect. Seriously, Bioware deserves a lot of the hate it gets, with its censoring of all critical (and valid, non-hateful) review. I've BEEN on the Bioware forums before, and I've seen them ignore and move threads that drew attention to bugs and flaws in all manner of their games, from ME3, to SWTOR and others in order to cover up the shortcomings, all the while making excuses. I've seen lead devs on the staff insult users on the forum, calling them stupid and ungrateful when they make predictions about things that inevitably come true and it turns out they were right to worry. So yeah.. I have zero respect for Bioware.
5. If I were a supervillain? Well, then obviously I'd be one of the fatcats in charge of the entertainment industry. So I guess I'd just do stuff like subvert civil rights with lobbying politicians into enforcing legislations masked to combat piracy, completely underpay the cornerstone of the product's success whilst grossly overpaying myself in the process, create and freely distribute software designed for file-sharing, advertising it and posting tutorials to utilize them, then turn right around and sue everyone for copyright claims of piracy whilst downloading entire seasons of my own products in my own free time. Then I'd pump the media to the point of gross obesity with reality TV shows and autotuned singers with zero talent besides being eyecandy. ..And at the end of the day, I'd go to sleep on my four-poster bed made out of money. Ain't nothin' like legalized crime.
6. Jeh jeh je hu jeh jety everybody, hu jeh jety ah! *Jams*

7. Welcome to the site. Since you were six, huh? Impressive. I started at eleven.
8. Ah, you should totally listen to Dvorak. His works are amazing:
9. Well, since the 'hog is currently KO'd and in a crater, consider him 'fair game' for an indefinite amount of time. Just for the sake of some comedic 'wuttizzit?' moments, and possible caretaking thereof.
10. "Y-You... You.. You..! You!! You HORRID LITTLE HEDGEHOG!!!" <LASER!> <DRILL!> <SPIKES!> <ROCKET!> <CUBE!> <HOVER!> <FRENZY!> "Huuarrgh!!" He could feel the energy swirling around him wildly. Unlimited colours surrounding and engulfing him as his newly-made friends lent him their strength - sending him leaping into the air at full-throttle, whilst a torrent of colour wrapped around him like a spiral, sending a burst of raw force forth from the blue hedgehog and the Wisps. Within an instant the mechanical monstrosity was launched from the space elevator's pathway and into the stars, scattering freed aliens about as it did so! Chalk up another win for the good guys! ..Or at the very least, that's what his initial reaction'd been, as the hedgehog smugly grinned and took pride in his latest achievement. His quills tingled and there was a definite sense of being pulled towards somewhere.. Yep, definitely a pull. And lots of crashing. Aaaand a great big black hole coming on up right behind him! The Wisps he'd rescued promptly scattered and flew away, well-aware of the impending devastation that was growing more and more out of control by the second. It was never just so simple as beating a fat guy with a moustache anymore, was it? The hedgehog sighed, rubbing his forehead in annoyance, "Ach.. this might not end well." And no sooner than said he was hurtling across the straight path of the elevator on a one-way course: Earth. All about him the station was being torn apart; the bolted, metal plating being torn up by the gravitational pull, the grids bending and groaning as it bent under the weight exuded by the black hole, before eventually snapping like twigs and being sucked up as well! 'Better move it', he grit his teeth in though, even as his legs pumped and kicked against the ground, putting as much speed as he could into it, but no matter how fast he went he could feel the mass of imploding gravity getting closer, and closer every moment. The floor was being pulled out from under him even as he ran, forcing him to run even faster just to leap off of the treacherous footing. There were gaps and tears forming in the layout up ahead due to all the damage, forcing him to jump over them. Distractions! Too many distractions! At this rate it was going to-- . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . A white scape. Feelings of lightness. Too bright, or just too white to see. No weight at all. Drifting. And then.. falling. Falling? Hey, wait a minute, falling wasn't really an option in outer space. Especially with a black hole. So why then.. And was that air he felt breezing past his cheek? Soft, chilling air. Breezing, no, billowing past. And fast too! If only he wasn't so dizzy right now. It felt like there were gongs slamming against each other inside of his ears. "Ugh.. my head.." Hang on. Sense of falling. Fast, billowing air. And he was pretty sure he was still alive. He rubbed his eyes a few times, forcing his emerald green orbs to squint in worry of more of that blinding white light, only to see-- clear blue skies and white clouds? What the heck? Then did that mean he made it out? No way! He made it out! As if there was ever any doubt, hah! Still, though, it was kinda weird.. This definitely confirmed that he was falling. And he still hadn't hit anything either. So that'd make it a long fall. So wouldn't that sorta mean he fell from spa-- [THUD] [Current Location: Ponyville] No doubt many a pony looking at the sky on that clear blue, sunny day would see the strange sight; as a bright purple-black sphere would form somewhere high in the sky, just along the atmosphere - higher than any pegasus could fly, almost as high as the moon, but not quite as far away. As the sphere would flash into view, rippling and sending strange waves of aerial current all about the skies, causing the clouds above Ponyville to swirl and spiral around the general radius in the sky below the strange phenomena. And then, just as suddenly as it had appeared, in a flash of bright light, it seemed to almost 'blip' out of existance, leaving only the swirl of clouds as any sign that it'd even been there in the first place. Shortly after which, the residents of Ponyville whose eyes were turned skyward would catch glimpse of something falling from high up in the heavens. Perhaps they would ponder what it was, with its strange shape and the minor glint of gold reflecting the sun's light off of its buckles in the distance, or perhaps they would question the debris accompanying it, as they too hurtled outward from the elusive sphere that had come and gone so quickly. Even less of a doubt would be that any one of them wouldn't of noticed that debris crashing down.. beams of metal and pipe, and hunks of concrete debris alike, spreading out and landing in some of the trees, and crashing the roofs of some less fortunate ponies - though thankfully no harm coming to any of them - and in particular one such metal beam lodging itself on the railroad tracks just a short ways out of town, while other pieces of debris were launched farther still, knocking over a few apple trees in the distance near the acclaimed local farm. There would be heard many the loud, crashing thud and rumble in their wake, including that of a strange series of peculiar eggs, white with soft blue dots and a yellow hue tinting the tops and bottoms. Eggs which would find themselves landing with dull thumps and thuds all about the landscape surrounding the town.. some landing in the Everfree Forest, others in branches, while some even falling into ponds and lakes, whilst some found their way into little nooks and crannies in the roofs and the like. One or two lone eggs landed in plain sight, embedding themselves into the soft, green grassy fields just outside of the humble town of Ponyville, leaving a tiny 'dent' of a crater around them and, shockingly so to any that might inspect the strange eggs, showing not the slightest sign of damage, despite the no doubt dangerous heights from which they'd fallen. The eggs, though, were certainly not alone in their accompaniment. As some might have noticed the glint of golden buckles, or the peculiar shape of the figure that fell amidst the eggs and debris, so too many more would notice the direction in which the figure was hurtling towards the ground now: the local bakery and confectionary of Sugarcube Corner. With almost cannonball-like velocity, the blue hedgehog would end up colliding with the topmost cupcake-tower, bursting through and scattering woodwork all over the place. To make matters worse, upon coming in through the ceiling, the hedgehog would slam headfirst into a pink box of party favourites, smashing right on through it - scattering confetti, party poppers and balloons all around him before his continued rate of speed sent him shooting through to the next floor and finally coming to a halt after crashing into a small table of cupcakes and snack treats, scattering chocolate and frosting across the room.. ..finally halted, the hedgehog would remain upside-down, head halfway dunked into a pinkly-frosted layer cake, with his arms splayed about him and legs in an awkward tangle overhead. His blue quills would be covered in cupcake, confetti and sprinkles, and a lone party horn would dangle from the corner of his mouth.. a lone groan blowing air into it and making an almost tragically comedic as if to emphasize the colossally extravagant mess that he'd made crashing in the way that he did. Certainly one way to make an entrance. ((For Info on this RP, please go: [HERE]))
11. Hehe, no problem. What characters do you have, on the other hand? It'd be interesting to see how they play off of things.
12. Ahh, well, as the thread outline sorta implied (or at least I'd hoped it would imply it), I more or less figured people would bring characters that they'd app'd for and such - since it'll follow relatively the same rules and guidelines as the mane RP.
13. Actually, I would list that as a big fat 'YES', since just the same as it's possible for people to play bunnies and pets and all kinds of other species, and Chao are plenty capable of showing personality and thought and such. Glad you're interested. I'm makin' headway through the starter post so it can all get underway.
14. Sure, I know classical. Ya familiar with the works of Dvorak?
15. Hmm. I like a lotta Doctors, to be honest. I'm probably one of the few that even appreciates Christopher Eccleston's performance. David Tennant was great, lovin' what Matt Smith's doin' with the role. Tom Baker is god-tier, and William Hartnell.. where oh where would we be without Hartnell. Anyways, music-wise I'm pretty wide-spread. So long as it entertains me, it can come from any genre. I'll even listen to stuff as far back as the 20's if it's good listenin'.
16. Hoohhh, boy. Here goes nothin' then. !!WARNING!! Howdy all, I'm Needlemouse, and I'll be explainin' how this is gonna work (at least for this particular Crossover, but I'll get to that right now) by laying down the basic ground rules: This is NOT the only MLP/Sonic Crossover. I'll say it right now. If anybody else wants to make their own Crossover using different characters, different universe and settings, then all the power in the world to ya! What this IS, however, is.. This is a strictly MLP:FiM canon-oriented RP (it just happens to have Sonic dropped in there). What's that mean? Basically the same as it does for the mane WoE RP. Same attention to canon, same ground rules, same everythin'. That'll include playing cast characters as restricted to those with apps that have been approved (under the terms of being intended for Crossover RP) for those characters and such.3 Similarly, OC characters are subject to the same requirement of being up to mane RP standards. Pretty strict, I know, but again - not the only MLP/Sonic Crossover out there. The only Sonic-verse characters that'll be appearing in this RP will be Sonic, and the [chao] critter species. Yeah, I'm bettin' this'll be a reeaaaal popular decision, but I have my reasons1. The starting point for this thread will be set after the Iron Pony Competition 2012 event that has recently ended (at least I believe it's ended - if not assume this to be after regardless). Again, I have my reasons2 for this decision. 1 So right around now you're probably thinkin' "C'mon then, Needlemouse, let's hear this reason that makes you such a stick in the mud!" Well, quite frankly it's because.. Sonic RPs are messy. Sorry, but coming from a long experience of roleplaying, and a great deal of time spent in the Sonic community, this is a simple fact that I've learned. It has a tendency to get over the top in a pretty bad way, go off the rails and characters start popping up out of nowhere in the weirdest and most inexplicable ways and it's just.. messy. Adding to this the fact that Crossovers are messy all by themselves, especially if you try to crash two universes into each other and struggle to prevent it all from imploding in on itself due to the clashing for how it all works and plays off of each other.. that's a double-sized mess. No thanks! I'd rather keep it simple, and the simplest thing here is to just drop the one character and as few elements as one can from one universe into the other, and just let those factors play off the rest of the world. It's less forced and far more natural from a narrative standpoint to just have one foreign object invade the land than have it all come crashing in. So that's why it's just gonna be Sonic in Equestria (and some chao - because chao are cute and don't hurt nobody.. 'less they touch magical Emeralds. Then they turn into aquatic [biollante] beasts). For a similar example of how this works well, reference the Doctor Whooves crossover fiction, where the only elements from the Doctor Who series that's brought over are the Doctor himself, the TARDIS and the Sonic Screwdriver. A successful Crossover is more or less that: having your main protagonist find himself in a strange new world, and how he'll react to that. So that's what I'm going to do. 2 Naturally, this presents the other problem.. why am I setting this in accordance to the mane WoE RP's timeline and narrative? Well, simply put? 'Cause I can. That and WoE runs a tight ship of well-coordinated and thorough RP that adheres strictly to canon without any rocking of the proverbial boat. Basically, that means it's a stable (hah!) environment, which is what a Crossover needs to avoid the aforementioned 'going off the rails' travesty. Plus if nothing else, if anyone is as finicky about timelines as I am then they can be at ease with knowing at what point in their pony's character development the story is taking place. So yay for that! 3 So you've weathered the rest of this wordiness and such, and wanna know whatcha need to do to audition for an FiM Cast character? Pretty simple, really. Just use the same application form as usual, found here: [HERE] And then just post it in the Applications forum, with [Crossover] written into the title, whilst following the guidelines and rules regarding the rest of the application process. This especially applies to the part that states you should label the RP type as 'Crossover'; this is to avoid any conflict or confusion as to the intent and purpose of your application, particularly due to the new ruling that states Cast Applications should be done via PM (as this is not the Mane RP, however, it can be assumed that you needn't do such - if this is incorrect, I will promptly edit this accordingly). Once approved, simply notify and link to your approved app in this thread, and I'll add you to the Cast List below: FiM Cast List: Pinkie Pie – Rosewind Rainbow Dash – Rosewind Rarity - Villefort Spike – Robikku Pegasus Vinyl Scratch/DJ PON-3 – Robikku Pegasus Current Chapters: Act 1: A Foreigner Drops In (DEAD) [THE PITCH] Well, holy cow we actually made it here after all. For those of you who have yet to play Sonic Colours (and if you haven't - why not? Shame on you. Go buy it now! I mean, honestly, coming into my thread with your dirty hooves and your no-Colours-playing faces. How could you?!) kiiiiind of a spoiler on the horizon here! Essentially the narrative of the game goes as such: Dr. Eggman, doing as only Eggman can (because that's what he am-- I mean is. Uh.. moving on!), has built a gigantic interstellar amusement park (credit where it's due - it IS a pretty swag place), and in doing so has also taken hostage an entire alien race known as Wisps, and is harvesting them for their unique energy known as Hyper Go-On energy. Why? To create a gigantic mind control ray. Classy! Now, there's some adventurin' along the way, some robot fights and as usual, Sonic saves the day. Standard! What this culminates in towards the end of the series is that the ray goes bust, then starts to go boom, and the whole park is goin' to get torn to pieces. This culminates in an ironically sort of MLP'ish final showdown wherein Sonic faces off against Eggman in a 'Nega Wisp'-powered mech, saving Wisps one by one and.. well, see for yourselves (to save time, and get to the 'point' as it were, skip to around the 9:10 mark, if you would be so kind); So if you watched pretty much that you'll have noticed the sparkly, colourful finisher move, followed by the alien-energy black hole swallowing up the massive interstellar amusement park. Well, that'd be our so-called 'junction point' or 'in', as one would have it. Since black holes are such great friends with our old pal the space-time continuum, they often get together and create such awesome instances like temporal paradox, quantum leaps and loops, and amongst other things: dimensional travel. Eh? Ehh? See where we're goin' with this now? Now, since Sonic was 'lucky' enough to get swallowed up by that thing, one can establish that there's every likelihood of him getting hurtled into some other world full of ponies and the likes. Incidentally, because it's a black hole, if he ever gets back, he'll just end up right around the point in time where he gets rescued. Timeline secured! [/Fanfare] Now someone might be asking how the chao thing factors into this, aaaand it's the only liberty I'm takin'. It's an amusement park. Chao are cute. They probably sell chao eggs, or there's at least a chao garden on that big ol' thing somewhere! I mean, if Eggman can build an entire section of his battlecruiser to have a chao garden, then I don't see why not this one too. So that was the pitch. And that's about all there is to it. ..Why are you here? Go home! Or.. post, or somethin'! Oh, alright, I guess I can leave this thread open for commentary, OOC discussion and planning.. ..twist my arm why don't you..
17. Weeelll, while you're welcome to set up your own crossovers and such, I'm going to go with a Sonic-only + FiM Canon narrative for my Crossover at least. It's less messy.
18. Hehe, you're probably the first pony I've met that's said that! Yeah, I did the fact checking as much as pony physics would allow, but even with the most liberal accountance of Rainbow Dash's speed clocks her off at Mach 10, which Sonic can just slightly edge out over based on his own 'top speed'. And since you mention it - yes! I do in fact plan on starting up a crossover thread. I even have the app down for the character already. The aim is to pretty much follow the canon full-on as much as WoE does (heck, if the place has its own established timeline of events I might set it at the conclusion of the previous plot/event, just before whichever one is currently going on), with just Sonic-only dropped in there. ..maybe some chao too. For pure cuteness perks.
19. Roleplay Type: Crossover Name: Sonic the Hedgehog Sex: Male Age: Sonic is a young, teenaged individual, as of last appearance listed as being about fifteen to sixteen years of age. Species: Hedgehog (Unique/Otherworldly) Eye colour: Emerald Green Coat colour: A cool shade of blue Mane/Tail/Markings colour & Style: Technically speaking, all of his body is his hair, with close-lying blue fur forming at the head into six long, contoured, spiky quills that appear to consist of thousands of much smaller spines. As with any hedgehog, these quills can soften and harden depending on what is required of them, though he also sports two slightly shorter quills that are a little less flexible on his back, just below which rests a small, arched tail. Similarly, his eyelids are also blue. His head is also tipped with a pair of alert, perked up triangular ears which tend to slant and tilt in certain circumstances, whilst tilting back whilst running, and on his face rests a long, black nose with no apparent or visible nostrils - though he does seem capable of sneezing in spite of this. His arms, stomach/chest area, inner ears and muzzle are a however not furred, and expose a peach-coloured skin underneath his fur. Always present are his trademark red light weight sneakers, sporting white strap cuffs and golden buckles, and his white gloves with sock-styled cuffs. Physique: Sonic is very athletic, sporting a slim and agile figure and thin long legs that broaden just a tad below the knees. Said legs are credited as the source of his many acrobatic feats, unfathomable running speeds that clock in at around 7,680 mph at maximum velocity (given that circumstances and terrain doesn't force him to slow down and detour around something), and his extraordinary jumping ability. His arms are similarly thin, with somewhat thick fingers. Cutie Mark: None Origin/Residence: While Sonic has no known home or residence to speak of, it is said that in his homeworld that he came from a place known as Christmas Island, and that he had left it in search of adventure and travel. As such, and being a free spirit, he has very few qualms with making any place his head is resting his current place of residence - even if that place is just relaxing underneath a tree, or some other location to that extent. Occupation: None; Though he does make a habit of having several hobbies, ranging from secret hobby as DJ, to racer and more. Preferring not to be tied down by obligation, Sonic tends to wander freely and do as he pleases. Motivation: To be free to do as one pleases, and to have the courage to live a life of believing in oneself and one's own choices that have been made. When there's a wide world of possibilities out there, it's impossible for Sonic to not want to get up and go. So long as he can keep on running and doing as he pleases, very little matters to him - and that belief in his own decisions extends towards others around him. Nothing is more important to him than being able to live by his own rules and not to follow any restrictive standards set by others, even if that standard extends to ideals such as heroics and the like. And while he does abhor the idea of falling into anyone's predetermined idea of heroism, he is not without his own internal compass that motivates and guides him towards righting any injustices or wrongs he may see; hidden as it might be beneath his cocky attitude. Since he hates the idea of being held back, he similarly loathes any kind of oppression, or the sight of others in despair and sadness, and it doesn't take long for him to step up to help those that are in need - whether or not that help is met with cheer or contempt, it matters little to him. It is during these occasions that his heroic nature is allowed to shine through, more often than not with a riled up, passionate fury and devastating results for those who would spread such things amongst others. That is Sonic in a nutshell; free-spirited, and does whatever the heck he wants - and if anyone has a problem with that, they can tell it to the wind. Likes: Music (particularly DJ'ing), break-dancing, sports, surfing, nature and the appreciation thereof, travelling the world, soaking in the sun, relaxing by the beach, snack foods and just overall having a good time. Dislikes: Oppression, sadness, despair, those that would destroy and pollute nature, tears and being held back by others. Also most things to do with water, and surprisingly enough, racing (why bother when you're the fastest there is?), unless it's his reputation on the line. History: Very little is known about Sonic's past outside of the one he has built up through adventuring and saving the world on far too many an occasion. He's had just about every other kind of adventure out there, when one thinks about it; from fighting robots, saving a tiny planet that's been chained to the Earth all the while travelling back and forth in time, going into space to save alien races, saving a floating island, facing off with gods and scientific monstrosities alike - he's even travelled into storybooks to fight genies and save kingdoms! There's just too much to even count, and yet Sonic treats it all with the same casual, passing-by grin that he does with everything else. Which would probably explain why nobody knows anything about his past or his childhood for that matter - for someone who doesn't think of the past and never looks back, such a topic wouldn't ever interest him in the first place. Parents: None to speak of; Whether that means he is an orphan or not is up for debate. As with his history, it seems that such topics don't really interest Sonic much at all. Qualities: Of his many skills and abilities, Sonic's most notable trait comes from deep within: an indomitable will. No matter what challenges he has to face, and no matter what troubles he has, he just doesn't have it in him to quit. He will keep running until the very end, and more than likely smile when he does so. Partnered with this is his tendency to keep a level-headed attitude of calm - and sometimes outright enjoying - when faced with trouble. He also has an incredible gift for free-spiritedness and allowing bygones to be just so, in that he is quick to forgive most any transgressions, simply treating 'the past as the past' as only someone who lives for moving forward can. He's also a somewhat insightful individual at times, usually able to judge a situation or a person by their motives, rather than their actions - and thus tries to understand them, rather than judge them outright. Flaws: Despite his various qualities, however, Sonic has been known to have a few character defects. He's an avid thrill-seeker, more often than not treating what would be a serious situation for anyone else more or less like it was little more than a joke, which can easily be construed as him simply not caring. Similarly, he is quite impulsive, and has a short temper, which can flare up quite easily when someone or something angers or annoys him - often times rushing in without any forethought or plan whatsoever, and intending on just winging it. On top of everything else, he is incredibly arrogant and self-confident, making no attempts to curb his tendency to boast about his skill, or to poke fun at others from time to time, and at other times just being altogether smug. Similarly, he is quite stubborn as a result, and quick to insist otherwise when someone might suggest that he isn't as good as he claims to be. This is especially the case when his speed is called into question, which he regards as a great insult and a blow to his pride, which will inevitably turn to a challenge soon thereafter. Personality: As has been mentioned throughout, Sonic is a free spirit, first and always foremost. Full of sass and arrogance, quick-tempered but also capable of kindness and benevolence - and sometimes even politeness if he can be coerced into doing so - Sonic lives like the wind does; blowing from one place to the next, never staying for too long if he can help it, but always bound to find his way back to you eventually. Easygoing and laidback, he prides himself on the popularity and cool status that he seems to inevitably achieve wherever he goes. Naturally, though, his narcissistic nature and his tendency to let how awesome he is go to his head tends to result in him coming off as a jerk to quite a few - though eventually people start to see the real person underneath it all, and just take it as it comes. All of these traits tend to come together as a whole and form a fairly impulsive, unpredictable sort of individual, though that is perhaps to be expected from someone who lives as carefreely as him.
20. Thanks for the warm welcomes so far, heh. Definitely bein' made to feel at home, that's for sure. And I watch both those shows, LifeIsMusic. And who doesn't like music, for that matter?
