1. Midnight could barely contain his excitement to be visiting the Canterlot library. He had rushed right over after receiving his assignment from Flameheart, knowing if he finished quickly enough he would free to explore on his own. His assignment was to research different flame spells to use in their next performance, so he’d find some simple ones to speed things up. He began wandering through the bookshelves looking for the magic section. He found the section relatively quickly and pulled books that looked like they could help. Looking around for a table he imagined what books he would read after he was done. A loud crash snapped him out of this as he quickly looked around for the source. It had come from a Pegasus and from his armor Midnight guessed him to be part of the royal guard. He appeared distressed as he threw on his armor and it didn’t help his helm was on backwards. Placing his books on a nearby table he made his way over to the Pegasus. “No offense but you’re outfit is a little off” he said using his magic to levitate the helmet and turn it around, “what’s got you so excited anyway?”
2. Alright so lately I've been listening to a lot of Tombstone and Omnipony when it dawned on me I don't know that much music for bronies. Can anyone recommend some good brony music or any personal favorites they have?
3. Ever since he began his magic training Midnight had dreamed of visiting the magical capital of Equestria. He dreamed of mastering the most advanced spells with the greatest magicians. He hoped his magic would improve enough to make the dream real but here he was struggling to cast a dual spell with his master. “MIDNIGHT CONCENTRATE,” Flameheart yelled out. “Sorry sir,” Midnight replied refocusing on the task at hand. “I don’t need your apologies I need you to focus,” he said stomping his hoof “now try to match your power with mine.” “Yes sir,” he answered increasing his power to the spell. “Good good, WAIT THAT’S TOO MUCH,” his master yelled but his warning came too late as the spell exploded knocking the pair back. “Oh no,” was all Midnight could utter as he knew what would come next. “Midnight Star” his master called out sternly. “Yes sir,” Midnight responded quickly composing himself. “Midnight this was our fourth attempt and again your mind was elsewhere.” Midnight sighed staring at the ground disappointed in his performance. “We’re done for today we’ll pick up tomorrow after you’ve had some time to clear your head.” “Yes sir,” Midnight replied and complying with his his master’s wishes made his way out. Though he felt like he hadn’t earned it, he had the day off so this was his chance to explore. Walking around it didn’t take long for one of the fliers to catch his eye. So there was a new magic guild starting up in Canterlot. Midnight wouldn’t dare miss out on this chance or the free refreshments. He made his way over to the warehouse only stopping to ask for the occasional direction or two. Finally there he could hear voices behind the door and hesitated to go in. There were bound to be some great magicians and he still was some novice. Taking a deep breath and gathering his courage he entered the warehouse. “Hello everypony, I’m Midnight Star and I really hope this is the meeting place for guild.”
4. 1) Is the portrayal of men in the series important? Why or why not? The portrayal of men in the series is very important. Considering the fanbase the show has gained and its depiction of women redefining stereotypes. Its important to not let men take a backseat to them and still have them play a part in the series. 2) What is your overall impression of how men are portrayed? Overall I'd say the men are portrayed positively in the series. Almost none are portrayed negatively unless they're helping to move the story along or develop character. 3) Which character best exemplifies good traits for a man? Shining Knight, Mr. Cake, and Big Mac (my favorite) 4) Do the portrays of any of these men hurt the series? Who and why? No most of the males have their own quirks but it doesn't take away from their good personalities.
5. No conflict I'm on Celestia's side but with conflict consider me a follower of Chaos. That chocolate rain is just way too tempting .
6. I'm in, I'm on the playstation 3 gamertag ArchErebus. Games I play are Mass Effect, Black Ops, Minecraft and mmorpgs. I'm always open to playing new games.
7. Hey I'm a little late as I was waiting for my character Midnight Star to be approved. I hope its not too late but I'd like to sign him up.
8. Overall this was a good ok episode. It was fun to see the pets interacting but as most could tell this served mostly to fit into next weeks episode. I can see a lot of people being dissatisfied with the ending but I think they were aiming more for a "here we go again" ending. Just a couple stray observations: I see Big Mac and Cherilee together *possible hint for the future* Rainbow Dash blushing is definitely a highlight. What Zecora did was kind of cruel. :!: Just how much are gems worth?
9. I've edited the app adding in more of his hobbies and such. I added it to the character summary though because I wasn't sure how to fit it into the character history. If its not enough or if there are any other changes I need to make just let me know.
10. I thought this was a great episode. I do agree it did feel rushed at times for a story involving a major character like Discord but it was still a fun watch. The ending did crack me up with his friendship is magic talk and everyone shying away when Fluttershy said he wasn't that bad.
11. Thank you so much Lux for the feedback. Just so its out there I'm open to any feedback on this app. I've edited it giving more to his personality but expanding more on the character summary because I'm not entirely sure how I'd fit it into his character history.
12. I don't know since the first episode I've always favored fluttershyxspike over rarityxspike. I've always seen Rarity wanting a more mature type of pony anyway.
13. Big Mcintosh (Macintosh) is my favorite. Every episode I'm just waiting for a eeyup from him
14. Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I have skimmed through some of the roleplays but haven't gotten a chance to get more in depth. I don't think I'll have any trouble fitting in though. I have experience in social and fighting roleplays so I'm open to any thread.
15. Roleplay Type: World of Equestria Name: Midnight Star Sex: Male Age: Colt Species: Unicorn Eye colour: Purple Coat: Dark Red Mane/Tail: His mane and tail are both black. Both are also short, scruffy and messy. Physique: He is fit and athletic Residence: Solstice Heights Occupation: Magician in training/ Part Time Performer Cutie Mark: A single star. During the final steps of his basic training Flameheart tasked Midnight with splitting a boulder perfectly in half which would take precise control and power. Midnight could barely muster the power to destroy the rock much less split it in half and after many tries he was getting nowhere. Flameheart reminded him that until this was complete he would stay at basic training. The task seemed impossible and Midnight again started to doubt his abilities. It reminded him of the night sky and the wish he had made on that star. He was happy his wish had come true but knew it couldn’t have been an easy choice for his parents to make. Remembering the faith his parents placed on him he got right back to training. He owed it to the both of them to become a great magician and that’s what he would do. After practicing a few days Midnight went back to Flameheart to show him his progress. His work was a little rough around the edges but he was able to split the rock. Satisfied with his work Flameheart informed him he was ready for the next step of training. Excited and ecstatic about completing his basic training he hadn’t noticed his cutie mark until Flameheart pointed it out. Seeing the new star on his flank Midnight was more determined than ever to become a magician. History: Born the only foal to an earth pony and unicorn. Midnight Star spent most of his childhood bored in Solstice Heights. He didn’t have many friends and didn’t seem to have any real interest. His parents seeing this worried for their foal but were at a loss of what to do. As time passed not much had changed until one day a wandering caravan of performers arrived in Solstice for a performance. Hoping to cheer up their foal his parents decided to take him. Midnight was awed by the shows performers but one in particular had amazed him. A magician calling himself the Amazing Flameheart performed a magic show that dazzled the audience. Midnight was amazed as it was his first time witnessing magic up close and of a higher caliber. After the show Midnight spent the rest of the night trying to imitate the spells Flameheart had cast with little effect. The next day Midnight begged his parents to take him back once more. Surprised by his sudden enthusiasm they complied and Midnight was able to witness Flamehearts show again. Afterwards he did his best to imitate the spells but to no avail. Dejected and disheartened at his lackluster abilities he headed home. That night he stared up at the sky and was lucky enough to witness a falling star. Closing his eyes tight he made a wish. “I wish I could do magic like Flameheart,” he spoke unaware that through the crack in his door his parents were listening to every word. Discussing it through the night they came to a decision and the next day they visited the caravan one more time. Meeting with Flameheart they explained their situation. Sympathetic to them he offered to take on Midnight as an apprentice but that would mean he would have to travel with him. Aware of the sacrifice they’d have to make Midnight was brought in and informed of their decision. That Flameheart had offered to train him and they felt it’d be the best for him. Midnight was stunned at the offer, it was the chance of a lifetime but it meant leaving everything he knew. His parents assured him that they loved him deeply and no matter what he’d always be their son. The next day after packing for the trip and after a tearful goodbye the caravan left with its new member. Flameheart expected a lot out of his new apprentice and didn’t let up on his training. Between studying and practice, Midnight was also responsible with assisting the performers. Though the work was hard he enjoyed his studies and enjoyed learning about the various acts performed. As time passed and as Midnight progressed through his studies, Midnight grew into a fine knowledgeable colt. Through his studies dark magic has always interested him. Hearing of the threats to the kingdom, he often wonders if dark magic could be used against these threats. He hasn’t been able to find much information so it’s only theory. Being a part of the caravan has helped him to easily travel and search for information across Equestria. It’s become a dream of his to master this form of magic and to use it for the kingdom. Character Summary:After studying magic Midnight has opened up more and become a more sociable pony. He enjoys being around others and offering assistance when needed. He is a loyal pony and always ready to stand up for his friends. He is determined to work toward his goal and ready to take on any challenge. He’s not afraid of picking a fight but his pride won’t let him acknowledge when he’s been outmatched. He enjoys practicing magic and putting on performances. He also enjoys traveling to new places and reading in his free time mostly about legends of Equestria. Working with the performers he’s seen many strange things so most stuff doesn’t surprise him. He heavily believes his magic is a gift to be used for others and isn’t afraid of charging headfirst into danger to help others. This can backfire at times as he won’t admit when a challenge is too much for him. He’s calm mostly but can be quick to anger if he or his friends are wronged. Because of his time with the caravan he loves entertaining people but can be a bit of a showboat. He loves to compete though sometimes he can be too competitive and hates losing more than anything. His biggest fear would be letting down anyone who put faith in him.
