  1. Cheerilee's head popped into the classroom; after having imagined the worst, seeing just a few overturned desks was almost a relief. Closest to the door was Haywire, stuffing something into her saddlebag. "Haywire!" said Cheerilee, whispering so hard it sounded like a hiss "I don't know what happened here, but I am pretty sure it involves some of your pets somehow. Now get a few of your classmates and clean this up right now! The Wonderbolts are here and I don't want them to see our classroom like this" Shutting the door quickly behind her, Cheerilee turned back to the group, pulling on what she hoped was her best poker face. "You three must be tired from the long journey, how about we step into the pantr-" Before Cheerilee could finish, Sunrise barreled cleanly into Soarin, sending her landing on her rump. EDIT: Changed some of the language

  7. Cheerilee's ears picked up as she heard the clattering of hooves and some odd whispering that she couldn't pinpoint, which she immediately dismissed seeing as that she can't be the only pony in here...right?? "That's strange....the clattering is getting lou-" Oomph!....Bkaaaaaaw! Cheerilee got up slowly, untangling herself from what seemed like a giant chicken which jumped up comically and shot down the corridor; and all Cheerilee could catch was a glimpse of a familar looking tail.... "Oh its just Pinkie Pie" thought Cheeilee "Silly pony must have been scared by her own reflection; and whats this?" Cheerilee picked up 1, 2, 3, 4? candies. She looked at Pinkie's direction wondering if she would have a chance to return the candy, but by that time, Pinkie was long gone so the only thing for Cheerilee to do was to keep it and leave, allowing herself to grin at her good fortune.
  8. Pretty good considering the mental trauma you had to go through to get there ;D
  9. Sorry I'm late to the party as to your qn, the only formal structure we have is a manager/publicist/booker and Nightshade and Raven as co-captains AFAIK; we don't have enough players for a formal starter/reserve system
  10. Name: Tela "TelKi" Kino Sex: Female Age: Very Young Mare (equivalent to a 20 year old human) Species: Unicorn Pelt Color: Deep rich orange Mane/Tail/Markings Color and Style: Long, messy and poofy firey red mane that reaches all the way down her neck. Kinda like her hair. Short, strangly straight tail Eye Color: Emerald Green Cutie Mark: Pretty close; I'd want the edges to be wavy but apparently its a PITA to draw Physique: Short and petite for her age (makes her look like a high school filly) Origin: Manehattan Roleplay Type: Mane Occupation: Just graduated, doing freelance jobs while travelling Motivation: Travel the world, using her ability to awe, help and of course, earn bits Likes: Having fun, getting her way, the jaw hanging look on other ponies' faces when she struts her stuff DisLikes: Being looked down upon because of her size, ponies thinking she's a young filly, being made to do things she doesn't want to do, being looked down upon or underestimated in general. Backstory Telki was born the youngest daughter to long line of academics in Manehattan. Her parents used to be both professors in the prestigious Manehattan Institute of Merchantry and Commerce. Genetics meant that from the onset, Telki was always one of the smallest fillies in class and while that was always a magnet for bullies, Telki’s spunk, smart mouth and general wittiness (being born to a family of eggheads has its perks) always meant that she had a comeback to any teasing and soon she was able to pass through school without excesssive drama. Telki’s father had retired from teaching relatively young to set up a bookstore and he initially had hopes of his daughter applying herself and joining the family trade. Telki did give him hope by doing relatively well in school and showing a moderate interest in reading, but after seeing his daughter so full of life and sunshine, could not bring himself to force the dull life of a bookstore keeper or teacher on her. How Telki got her cutie mark was a bit of a mystery to everyone then. Before she had established her street cred; some catty ponies had tricked her into volunteering to decorate and prep the school gym for a fundraiser dinner and then no showed at the agreed time. Rumors swirled around in school that Telki had walked into the empty school gym with all the decorations packed in their respective cartons and crates, at the scheduled meeting time in the evening and walked out 5 minutes later with the gym fully decorated, all the tables set down to the spots for trays and cutlery and her cutie mark on her flank. All Telki would reveal then was that after she had realized she had been duped, she closed her eyes and imagined how the gym would look when it was done; and when she opened them, the gym was exactly as she pictured it and her cutie mark had appeared. Adding to the rumor was some ponies mentioning that they had seen some bright red shapes floating and whizzing around in the gym. As far as everypony knew, Telki was too young to even have been formally trained in magic, too young to possibly even wield magic and father's bookstore did not have a magic section, so that was completely out; or was it? All was revealed weeks later. Telki came home one day from school and saw the door to her father's bookstore ajar. Inside, a trio of street punks had tried to rob the store and had her father at knifepoint. Seeing Telki, her father tried to yell out a warning, but only succeeded in drawing attention to her. As the punks closed in, Telki stood her ground, seemingly unafraid. Suddenly, Telki's eyes glowed red and beams of light as red as her mane shot out of her horn. Each punk soon found himself picked up and flung into a corner and bookcases shifted to form a makeshift cell around them. There they stayed, their combined strength unable to even shift one of the red glowing bookcases a single inch, until the police came and took them away. The next few days brought a change to Telki, her mane drooped and her bubbly nature became more sombre, and no amount of coaxing seemed to bring her out of her funk. It was a fortnight after the incident and Telki trudged home to her apartment. Just as she was about to go in she heard a voice call out to her. Telki turned and saw that it was her neighbour Jazz Brass. Telki had always seen Jazz Brass as a really cool uncle of sorts, but the old musician pony was rarely home these past few months, travelling around Equestria with his band. Jazz was confused at the Telki now standing before him, a quiet pony that seemed to have lost all her self confidence. Sensing her discomfort, Jazz invited her in and after a hot chocolate, Telki spilled everything; the feeling of anger at realizing she had been played, closing her eyes and envisioning horrible fates for her tormentors and wishing she could somehow decorate the gym herself, how she had opened her eyes in the gym and saw the contents of the crates floating overhead, all encased in a red light that seemed to emanating from her horn, some racing and some floating to to where they needed to be, knock-down tables assembling themselves and cutlery sorting themselves into groups before setting themselves on the tables, and the bookcases in her father's store rearranging themselves at her will, forming seemingly unmovable walls. Jazz listened without a word, wizened face smiling as Telki finished her story. He simply asked Telki if she was afraid of what she could do or she would hurt somepony with her magic; and lastly if she saw herself as a monster, to which Telki gingerly nodded. Jazz burst out laughing. What he saw, he said, was a very talented young filly who could do so much at such a young age and she had a special gift. He told her of how his parents had discouraged his love for music, but he could not deny who he was and what he loved and finally made it as a musician. Wrapping up, he said that he had gave Telki all the advice he could, and that he was leaving on tour again the next day, this time for a few years and he had only came back to get instruments and sheet music out of his apartment. Telki nodded and left without a word. The next day, Jazz Brass was up early, carefully shifting his heavy brass instruments out of his apartment and trying not to strain his back. Setting down a particularly heavy tuba at the stairwell he turned around and saw Telki standing behind him. Telki asked if Jazz would need any help, to which he simply smiled and nodded. Telki closed her eyes and magically all the instruments and suitcases of music floated upwards in midair, then slowly drifted down the stairs and finally settling at the doorway. With only a knowing smile exchanged between the pair, they both went down the stairs where Telki helped to load the waiting carriage. Jazz noticed that Telki's eyes were glowing a soft rose red. Telki waved good bye and was about to turn around when Jazz called out to her. He rummaged into his bags and produced a locket, his farewell gift to Telki. She opened it and inside was inscribed the words “Be proud, not afraid, of who you are and what you can do” Telki's parents came home that day to the old Telki, much to their surprise. After graduation, and with her brothers volunteering to take over the running of the bookstore, Telki decided that the future for her was to travel across Equestria using her skill for both fun and profit. Waving goodbye to her parents and brothers, she left home, taking only a map, a few bits and of course, an old faded locket that she wouldn't take off. Character Summary: Telki's special ability revolves around her being highly skilled in telekinesis. While most unicorns can only move or manipulate single or small groups of small items at a time, with a comparative amount of effort, Telki can do the same with more numerous and much larger and heavier objects without a loss of control or precision, in addition whenever Telki is manipulating something, a red magical beam connects her horn to whatever she's holding and moving so everypony knows its her. Whenever Telki uses her telekinesis, her eyes glow depending on the intensity of her effort and her emotional state, it ranges from fiery red when she's angry or exerting her powers fully to soft rose red when she's calm or just being mildly strained to no glow for "normal" level usage. Currently, Telki has not been trained in any other form of magic so she can't do any form of spellcasting (might change that but I highly doubt so nor do I want it to) Telki is fun loving friendly and generally carefree. She treats her travels as a never-ending adventure and never settles in one place for long. To earn bits for her expenses, she hires herself out for short term or odd jobs, usually involving farming or construction where her abilities are most sought after. She's not above helping others for free, but only if she deems them deserving of her help. She's far from being a mercenary even though she displays some of those traits. (she is the daughter of 2 business school professors after all!). Most importantly, she is determined to live life by her rules her way! (Note to any RPer, if you want her to help you you either have to convince or pay her, either works)
  11. It had been a short but eventful night and after seeing so many things go wrong for everypony Cheerilee was just glad Nightmare Night would soon be over. She had seen ponies sevely distressed, by posion jokes, the efforts of other ponies who meant no harm and said pony's own overactive imagination. Luck had been on her side too, nothing bad had happened to her (thank Celestia!) and she had met both royal princesses; though usually while she was in the midst of aiding a traumatized pony so she never really had the time to stop and chat. "Well I might as well take a look here" Cheerilee thought to herself as she stepped boldly into the house of horrors; quietly confident that all fears were just nothing but a figment of some pony's imagination
  12. As he watched Opal toy with the Weather above him, LightWind mused on the obsession most of the weather ponies he had met with process and perfection. Sure he had played a part setting up clouds while in weather control, but it usually involved him scattering them leisurely as he pleased and then getting yelled at later for silly things like the "the clouds should be blah blah meters apart from another cloud blah blah". Silly things that didn't interest him. His train of thought was broken by Nightshade announcing himself, then proceeding to showboat as usual. "He seems annoyed" thought LightWind as he spied Nightshade gesturing at him. "Nightmare Night must have not gone as well as he had wanted" and knowing Nightshade's perfectionist streak that was probably it. "I hope somepony come's soon, its getting too dark to check over the promotional material and I'm down to my last orange" LightWind though "If Nightshade sees me idling he'll make me practice" That last thought leaving a bad aftertaste
  13. I like it a lot, its like RP but snack sized, especally since I'm not out to win
  14. LightWind glided and landed softly without a sound on the grassy clearing in the outskirts of Everfree forest, not far from his hut. The indigo Pegasus then slipped off his saddlebag and gently placed it on the ground, letting his mind wander.. It had been a relatively good year by his standards, he’d finally found a job that he found tolerable and he might even say, stretched him just a wee bit. Performing with the Shadowbolts was much more liberating than the Wonderbolts; shows were smaller and while the crowds were more rowdy and less family orientated, they more likely to sit still, hearts in their mouths and gasp after the stunt was done. Much much more palatable than the near non stop noise from the crowd and party atmosphere that usually accompanied the Wonderbolts that usually irritated him to no end. Off season came and LightWind had taken the scenic route home from their last show, even making a detour to Cloudsdale to visit his parents. He did try to tell his parents exactly what he was doing, but when he mentioned that he’d been in his current job for about a year, they rest of his words were drowned out by a collective gasp from his parents and before he knew it he had been bear-hugged by both of them to the point of near suffocation and his train of thought repeatedly broken by them repeatedly alternating between how proud they were of him and relief at how their ‘useless son” finally finally made good. His next stop was the printers at Manehattan, who had printed the next batch of Shadowbols promotional material, normally the Wonderbolts had somepony run these errands for them but well the Shadowbolts was a leaner outfit with a much smaller budget and LightWind had this task dumped on him, being the only pony with seemingy the most free time. Thinking back on that, LightWind allowed himself a wry smile; the print shop pony had raved about how he was a secret Shadowbolts fan and how he was dying to meet them in the flesh not knowing that there was an actual live Shadowbolt standing right in front of him, except that particular Shadowbolt didn't often make it to press conferences, or at least not in any publicly recognizable form. LightWind laid out the leaflet and poster samples alongside some documents from the team manager regarding the upcoming season. He then settled down and reached into his other saddlebag, pulled out a few fresh oranges and started snacking slowly, one of the many enjoyable perks of having an actual well paying job. “I wonder when the rest will get here”, he thought as he scanned the sky lazily for any sign of his other teammates. “Team meeting and first practice of the new season is due to start in 15 minutes.”
  15. "Oh dear, another victim of a joke gone too far" thought Cheerilee as she heard someone call out to her Cheerilee opened the cupboard and slowly and carefully helped Diamond Tiara out. She'd never seen the young foal so shaken before, normally she was so full of of confidence and self assurance; but there she was now; visibly shaken and on the verge of tears. Cheerilee gave her a look over and once she was satisfied that DT had come to no harm, ushered her towards the exit. "Come on let's get you home, I think you've had enough for tonight" No sooner had she finished and rounded the corner when she came face to face with a pony with a pastel white face. Cheerilee jumped a little, the hairs on her mane stood on end at the sight and she just managed to stifle a yelp, luckily for her DT was lagging behind and had her gaze lowered.
  16. Kind of a long story: I was looking for a FIM related forum to post something I wrote and ended up here One day, I was browsing through the applications section and after reading some really good apps; stumbled upon the Character availability section and noticed that Cheerilee was available. The inspiration fairy hit me really really hard, and before I knew it, it was 4am and I had a mainly complete 1.75 page character summary of her Initially I didnt really want to RP, due to not knowing how. But my application was apparently quite good and after some encouragement from others I gave it a shot.
  17. damn I wish I could draw like that (or had a IRL friend who could draw like that), I'd be writing comics
  18. "Oh dear" said Cheerilee as she watched Lilly and Axis collide. The seriousness of the situation was broken for a second as she took in the sight of the frog staring at a dazed Axis, an involuntary smile passed through her face for a split second before she managed to compose herself. Are you 2 alright?" helping Lilly up 1st and then Axis and giving Lilly a quick look over and brush down. Once she was certain that the only things they both had were bruises, she pushed open the classroom door slowly and popped her head in for a quick peek; all sorts of nightmare scenerios flashing through her mind...... [ooc: hope a foal character can establish the condition of the classroom in lickity split]
  19. Cheerilee trotted back from NMM's Monument, musing over what she had just seen and heard. It seemed to her that quite a few Nightmare Night jokes had shaken the ponies just a weeeee bit too much. "I guess a few laughs won't hurt, Pinky usually errs on the side of laughter and she knows when a joke has gone too far, so how bad can this be" she thought to herself as she entered the house
  20. I was wondering what "too scared" was. Looks like it means "didn't play"
