Just a random thought my friend and I had. Is Shining Armor really Twilight Sparkle's brother or did she just meet him on the street and say, "You're my brother now!" Because that's sort of how the song made it seem and they don't go into much detail about their origins.

There's also Their shared magic color and similarity in cutie marks (notice his stars look like hers) as well as Twilight's Parents' reactions to the wedding. They're certainly biological siblings, even if shining armor was invented only for the 'movie' and never mentioned before or likely after...
