History:

Goose Berry was born to two berry farmers outside of Solstice Heights. They, surprisingly, farmed berries. All kinds!

Even berries that aren't berries! Like strawberries! Even her namesake, Gooseberries! She didn't have too many kids to play with growing up, most of the community around her being either young mares and stallions, or elderly. Her relationship with her parents was good, thought she wasn't quite as into berry farming as they were. She didn't like the labor, and didn't find berries all that fascinating. They hoped to Celestia she would get a berry-farming cutie mark like them and carry on the family trade... But the realized after a time they should try to push her into something she may not enjoy. Regardless, they got on very well. Yay loving family!

She had a close circle of friends growing up, since there were only so few her age. They liked to stick together! But one of their favorite things to do was go camping every Friday. It got them out of the house, and they never went very far. It was always the four of them, four little fillies sitting in a tent in one of their backyards, giggling and telling stories or playing games. Sometimes they brought boardgames too, but those seemed to take up alot of space.

Every time before they went to bed, however, they liked to tell stories. Sometimes funny ones, sometimes dramatic or action-y ones. But Goose really seemed to prefer horror stories. Something about the rush of being scared, an overactive imagination warping the world around her. It was amazing! And the feeling she got when she would realize there was nothing to be afraid of, or when the story ended on a happy note, or even if it was just a particularly good story, was awesome! She was a clear fan of the horror genre. A few nights, one of her friends brought a book of short stories she thought Goose Berry would like. And like them she did! Though reading them only fueled her imagination. She felt she could do that too!

All that week, she kept trying to write a story of her own! She looked at the elements around her, trying to imagine what she could twist up and make scary. Whenever she was scared, harmless things sometimes looked scary, so why couldn't that apply to thinking things up too?

Eventually, what she came up with was a gruesome tale, and she told it to her friends that Friday night. She called it 'Wild Berries'. It was a story about a young colt who lived in a small town, happy as could be. But, one day, there was a report of a disappearance in the newspaper. Very mysterious, guards couldn't find a trace of them. But the colt noticed a strange farmer had moved into town not long ago. He liked to grow berries, and he was a unicorn, using his magic to help them grow bigger. But he was... Out there. He always stared at the anypony who passed by his farm, as if they had no right to be there, or he resented them. The guards couldn't find evidence linking him to the disappearance, and just seemed like a crabby old man. Over time, more and more ponies started disappearing, and even stranger, more and more berries kept showing up in the old stallion's farm. Very strange, but the guards still couldn't find any connection. Eventually they just left the old coot be, even as more and more ponies were going missing. Eventually, there were only a few left in town. Either they had fled, or disappeared. When at last the colt's parents disappeared, he decided enough was enough! He knew that old unicorn must be behind it! If the guards wouldn't help, well darnit he'd just have to help himself!

That night, he snuck into the farm at night, creeping around. All he saw was berries. More and more berries. But they were... All sorts of colours... All sorts of shapes and sizes. In fact, one particular plant, he felt rather attached to. It trembled in the wind, and he almost swore it was speaking to him, telling him to run! But he heard hoofsteps in the misty night. He turned around... And standing right there... Was-OHCELESTIA THE FARMER WAS REALLY A STRAWBERRY CANNIBAL MONSTER AND HE TOTALLY ATE THE COLT RAAAAAWR!!!!

She thought her little twist was going to be lame, but it actually made her friends huddle up and scream a bit. But in Goose's fit of laughter, her friends saw the light-hearted nature of a good scare and laughed along with her. But in her merriment, she hadn't even noticed her cutie mark appeared! She immediately ran back home and woke up her parents in a fit of joy... At about 11:30PM.

Her talent was scary stories! She liked scaring ponies with the power of her imagination! A good scare was great for a rush, or to help ponies get huddled close to fight their fear together. But, she found a lot of ponies found the stories made them happy. Thinking about them after hearing them, some took the opportunity to see that what they found scary in some conditions, was absurd and even silly in others! A strawberry monster that eats ponies and turns them into berries? Ridiculous! However... Even her father admitted he got wary in the garden at night.

As she grew up, her focus on writing got more and more in-depth. It was almost all she did in her spare time. Eventually, she got herself published! She's written many stories since then that have delighted ponies in several areas. She called the series 'Night Terrors', of course encouraging her readers to partake in them at night! Her famous catchphrase, etched inside the cover of each book, was "You're in for a fright, my stories tend to bite!". To add to the effect of this, her hard cover books closed like a case, its edges fitting together like teeth. Among her other titles are, of course, Wild Berries (rewritten to be even better), The Honeyed Horror, It Came from the Attic, and, her most popular, Moonbow - The story of how a school janitor had to face aliens that traveled on moonbows (nighttime rainbows) and rescue his family.

She currently lives in Baltimare, working on new books and traveling to signings and conventions all over Equestria. She doesn't fancy herself a celebrity or even famous: Just a beloved author.

Character Summary:

'G.B.', as she prefers to be called, is a very light-hearted pony. Nightmare Night is, of course, her favorite holiday, and she was ecstatic when the Princess decided to take the holiday in stride and give them all some good scares. Also a fan of haunted houses and other spooky stories. But she doesn't let it show in her personal life. She likes to go out and have coffee, curl up with non-horror books... Sure, during conventions and book signings she's 'The Queen of Terror', but other than that she's just G.B. Joyful, curious, and outgoing.

If fact, a favorite pastime of hers is gardening! She's not particularly good at it, but it was in her blood, her parents before her being farmers. She's tried to plant all kinds of things, but seems to have the best luck with flowers. They aren't as well maintained as a professional florist, but she found joy in tending them.

Aside from those, there's tomatoes and watermelon that she's tried her best to bring around. Most of them are edible!

When she's not working on her writing or having some time for herself, she tends her own bookstore! It's a small operation, mostly selling horror stories and urban legend books. The store itself is called 'A Bump in the Night', located in downtown Baltimare! Not only can customers find her own works there, but many other famous scary writers as well, and she even encourages aspiring writers to try their luck by letting her put copies in an 'up and coming' section reserved for new or unknown writers.

As for going out with her friends, a typical afternoon would be going to a decent restaurant, chatting it up, and maybe seeing a show. Oddly enough she's never seen a horror performance on stage. Not even her own, since she's been aware a couple of productions have tried to act out her gripping stories.

Hello Imagination! I will be the RPH here to help you with your application! (I'v always wanted to say that!)

Now I recall us talking about this app on Skype, and I'm glad that you took so many of my suggestions such as the name, tagline, ect! There is just one thing before I pass this on that I want you to do -nod- Could you expand the summary? Compared to everything else it is a little lack luster, and I almost feel there isn't more to GB than writing creepy books! What other hobbies does she have? Does she possibly own her own bookstore? (THAT would be cool a bookstore filled with various scary stories, could call it "Bump in the Night"!)

Either way just expand on her summary and personality a touch and we should be all set!
