Name: Siiri Lionheart

Gender: Female

Age: Young Adult Griffin

Species: Griffin

Eye colour: Her eyes are those of a bearded vulture: what would be the whites of her eyes are red and her irises are white.

Appearance and coloration: Being a griffin, Lionheart is half bird of prey and half big cat. Her bird of prey half closely resembles the lighter colorations of the bearded vulture, leaving her feathers (all but her wings) white tipped with black. Her wings, however, are black, with the occasional specks of white. Her big cat half has the patternings and coloration of a snow leopard, with a white base and big smoky grey spots.

Physique: Most of Lionheart's physique is hidden by the intense fluff of her feathers and fur. She's slim and lithe, built for quick, quiet subtleties and stealth. Strength is not her strong suit, but she more than makes up for it with sheer speed and agility.

Residence: Lionheart is without a current residence, and doesn't generally stay in one place for too long.

Occupation: She calls herself a travel guide, but nobody's ever seen her guide anyone to anything. She hunts, though, and sells anything she doesn't eat or use.

Unique Traits: Siiri carries a bow and quiver, as well as twin swords and an assortment of knives. The bow and quiver are for hunting, the twin swords are for combat and personal protection, and the knives are for whittling wood and preparing meals. The swords are named, but she'll only reveal the names to those closest to her, just as she hides her given name from all except those she trusts completely.

History: Siiri was born to the Baron of the Lionheart Steading, a family set up in the far north of Aquellia. Raised in the halls of Falkensfjord, she did not have a rough childhood. Being the only child, she knew she would stay with Falkensfjord when she was of age, and that she would eventually be Baroness. This didn't bother her in the least, and, in fact, she looked forward to it.

Her parents chose to let the young griffin choose for herself what she wanted to do and what she wanted to learn. Given the choice between needlework and swordplay, Siiri would always choose swordplay. It was much more fun to chip away at a wooden practice dummy than to sew dumb patterns onto dumb fabric. She would continue to choose swordplay as she grew older, and eventually just the slow, steady movements became second nature. She would, when helping with housework, pick up a broom handle and start practicing with it, and she would frequently walk down the hall practicing with a wooden sword.

The swordplay created a certain closeness between the young griffin and her father. They would often practice together in the courtyard, day or night. Only inclement weather would stop them. When one bested the other they would laugh and return inside to rest, Siiri's mother having already prepared a meal for them to restore their energy.

This is not to say, however, that Siiri was not close with her mother. While she dismissed her mother's offer of needlework, she still fancied the dresses her mother so loved. Normally she couldn't bear to stand still, but when it came to her mother fitting her for a new dress, she would endure it. She especially loved drapey blue dresses and flowy red ones.

As she grew older, Siiri would spend more time with her father and her uncles. One uncle in particular taught her to whittle. Another took her camping and taught her to identify tracks and follow them. The last would accompany them on camping trips, and he taught her the various plants: which ones to avoid, and which ones to eat or cook with. The five of them, Siiri and her father and her uncles, would go on hunting trips, and when they returned with their prize, Siiri's mother would teach her to clean, prepare, and cook the meat.

Each of these skills stuck with Siiri throughout her life, and she demanded to go camping by herself when she was of age. Her father agreed and, after recieving presents from her parents and uncles (the bow, arrows, swords, and knives that she carries with her to this day), she set out. She spent a week in the wilderness, honing her skills. She became particularly fond of fishing to pass the time and feed herself while she was out on her own. While she'd never seen her mother prepare fish, she managed well enough to make it edible, and discovered what to best spice it with when she cooked it.

She returned home a little worse for the wear, though her weaponry was well taken care of and she had a few trophies to show off. Not even 24 hours after her return, though, she was hit with bad news. Her father had arranged a marriage for her in her absence. She barged into his study and screamed at him. That was not his choice to make. She was an adult and could choose very well for herself whom she would court and by whom she would be courted. Her father would not change his mind. In a fit of rage, Siiri left.

She took food enough with her to reach the nearest city, and she traveled south through the canyon, stopping as needed along the way. She fought her way through Diamond Dog territory, and east into the SaddleVeil Plains, eventually finding her way into the Everfree Forest. She stopped here for a time, to regather her wits about her, and soon found her way to a small town. She stopped there and set herself up as something of a mercenary. She was hired mostly to protect travelers who knew their way, but weren't able to keep themselves safe.

Now, Siiri travels from town to town, escorting the less-than-capable for money, and hunting the odd menace here and there. She has no plans to return to Falkensfjord, and she does attempt to actively dodge anyone she may think would recognize her as the Baroness-to-be. All-in-all, she's content with the life of the traveling merc.

Character Summary: Lionheart tends to be cold and calculating. She doesn't avoid interacting with others, but she does tend to be secretive and she is unwilling to spend time talking to anyone she doesn't view as useful to her in some way, even if only for entertainment. She does have friends, but she will never call them such, as she's been taught that emotional attachment is a weakness, though a tiny part of her knows it's a strength. She is, however, occasionally quick to anger. If she's been offended or her honor has been insulted in some way, she'll retaliate quickly and fiercely. It's gotten her into trouble more than once. She's also quick to defend those closest to her, and is often more trouble when defending others than herself. Lastly it should be noted that her tail is a sore point. Pointing it out, touching it, or tugging on it will provoke a reaction, and it will not be a friendly one.
