Unfortunately, first round voting has already begun, and it doesn't seem I can change the voting period. So first round will have to proceed with 5 days. The semis and the final, OTOH, I can extend to like a week. I'm trying not to let this whole process take TOO long, lest people become bored with it. As for simultaneous polling, I wanted to give each poll an opportunity to get on the front page, as well as allow time for potential discussions/negotiations (as votes can be changed) within each poll.Sorting was somewhat arbitrary and manual, but I kept two things in mind. First, I tried to keep separate the most popular episodes (according to polls I've seen on Equestria Daily and the like, and my sense of the consensus, which I hope isn't too off kilter). Second, I tried not to double up episodes that starred the same character. As more than four episodes star ALL the mane cast, that one doubles up in a few divisions. This was actually the most complicated step in creating this poll (besides making the bracket art itself). I'm seeing a few people already lament that they're going to have to cut out their faves. I just hope EVERYpony's faves aren't all in the SAME division. If Manehattan turns out to be the one every likes the best, that'd be most unfortunate.If there's enough of an uproar, we can add a consolation bracket, and put all the episodes that JUST missed qualification from each poll (so 6 total) into a loser's bracket, and the winner of that bracket could be a fifth option in the finals. Best way to handle them?Option 1 would be to start another poll with JUST the episodes that tied.Option 2 would be to advance all ties to the next round.Option 3, which Im pretty well set against, would be a coin flip, or some other random determination.Are there other things I'm not thinking of? BlackFang Posted July 7, 2011 Report Share Posted July 7, 2011 seems to me that the most logical is option 1, but option 2 seems somewhat better, dunno why i dont think there will be triple or quadruple ties for example so i dont think it would be much of a problem.if option 2 were to be chosen, id say that the ties should go to different semifinals box. There was a moment about an hour or two before poll closing where a 3-way tie seemed imminent, but a late straggler came in in the nick of time to give Swarm of the Century the final nudge.Didn't see this one coming at all.
