Character Summary: Lady is a jaded mare with a singular interest in making money by any means necessary. She mainly works by traveling the frontier with a deck of cards in tow, challenging whoever she can find to a game of chance. She usually doesn't have to cheat to win, but she's certainly not above it.

Whenever the cards prove unsatisfactory, Lady turns to other sources for a few bits. She'll turn on the charm to con some cash out of whoever she thinks might be an easy target. She'll even on occasion ride with other outlaws and commit high robbery if she thinks the reward is worth the risk.

She is not the biggest or strongest of ponies, but she is very tough in a fight. She's quick thinking and has tight reflexes, which she uses to her advantage in creating strategies both in cards and in combat. She'll often go for a low blow of sorts to score an advantage.

Lady was born on the frontier. She lived most of her early life in Appleloosa with her father after her mother was lost to disease when she was still a foal. Her father would often spend time in the local saloon for a drink and to play a hand (or a "hoof", I suppose) or two of cards. When Lady was still a filly, he ended up falling severely in debt to some dangerous gamblers and skipped town to avoid paying it, leaving his daughter behind.

Lady took up cards herself at this point, determined to raise enough money to pay off her father's debt. Though initially she was laughed at, when she started to win again and again, the tone of her challengers changed. Being accused of cheating constantly, she had to learn how to fight to keep her winnings. About two years after she started, she had more than enough to pay off her father's debt and a golden spade cutie mark displayed proudly on her flank.

However, by then Lady's outlook had changed. She had the money, but no longer the desire to pay off her father's debt. It had been two years since he left and he had not once tried to contact her in any way. Hardened as she was now, Lady decided he was a coward not worth saving. The money she worked so hard to win belonged to her.

As she grew to be a mare, Lady only grew more jaded and greedy. She began to consort with outlaws to line her pockets with even more bits. She soon had a reputation and the bounty to match. Fleeing from lawmen and hunters, she abandoned Appleloosa for the badlands beyond and began to roam for several years. She currently resides in Rockwington, where the Appleloosa lawmen don't usually tread, and where she's just tough enough to survive, but she is more often on the road, looking for easy targets. She is not too afraid to return to Appleloosa for some fun on occasion, when she feels luck is truly on her side.

Lady has a real warm spot in her heart for children, and especially for fillies, as seeing them reminds her of the innocence of her own childhood and how she had to toss it aside. Genuinely sad stories also get to her. She is a thief and a con artist, but she is far from heartless, and is actually prone to charity on the rare occasion she is truly moved.

She has a natural distrust of stallions stemming from her past. Usually this is hard to tell as her playful charm is always turned on when dealing with them to give her an advantage. She changes her persona to fit the situation at hand, but flirting is a favorite trick of hers, even if a lot of the time it disgusts her.
