Name: Aloe Blossom, (Nickname 'Loey)

Sex: Female

Age: Young Mare

Species: Earth Pony.

Eye colour: Moderate Azure

Coat: Pale Rose, Immaculately Groomed

Mane/Tail: Aloe’s mane and tail are both immaculately groomed. They are both combed back and left to hang freely along her shoulders, and will shimmer and shine in any light that happens to be in the sky. It reflects a light cerulean color. In the front of her mane, Aloe will have a white bandana wrapped around her forehead at least while she’s working in the spa.

Physique: Aloe won’t be competing in the Equestria Games any time soon, nor will she ever be cut out to be an Iron Pony, but she’s participated in the Running of the Leaves a few times with her sister. That was quite fun, if not tiring. Grooming on the other hoof, well, you’d be hard pressed to find a cleaner mare other than the local fashonista. .

Residence: Aloe’s origin is that of Trottingham. However, it was much too large and had plenty of spas already so it made it difficult for Aloe and her sister to live out our dreams there. The moved to Ponyville where they now own and run the Ponyville Day Spa

Occupation: Aloe and her sister both own the Ponyville Day Spa. It’s a lot of hard work, but it’s quite fulfilling at the end of the day.

Cutie Mark: Aloe’s cutie mark is a wonderful little Lotus Blossom to signify her ability to create Balms, Salves and Lotions for the spa. That’s not to be confused with her sister, Lotus Blossom though.

History:

Aloe was born alongside her sister in Trottingham some years back. It was a lively city always bustling with something to do, but for the two sisters it just never really had any appeal to them. That being said, their family business in Trottingham was as successful as ever as the oils and lotions that their parents sold more than accommodated for them entirely. This gave Aloe plenty of time to work on learning how to make the same types of balms that her parents did. She enjoyed it for the most part, although it could be difficult to get the mixtures right at times.

What she enjoyed the most though was her twin sister, Lotus. Like all sisters, they’ve had their disagreements growing up, but Aloe would do anything for her sister and she’d like to think that the feeling was mutual between them. With that in mind though, whenever she wasn’t in working on her balms or salves, she was working on a way to try to play a prank on her sister. Most of them were harmless, although some of them did cause unintended chain reactions, and one intended chain that temporarily turned her sister’s coat green. Needless to say, her sister wasn’t too happy about those chain of events. Everything washed out though in the end so everything was forgiven.

Over time, as she continued making lotions, salves, and balms, things started to get a bit monotonous. So to mix things up a bit, she started making different mixtures of the products and trying them on herself to see how they worked. The first few times ended up with her getting a rash under her coat that was highly uncomfortable, but slowly she tweaked the mixes and the materials until she made a product that worked better than the original product her family made. When she perfected her own line of salves, balms, lotions, and oils, she found that her cutie mark had appeared.

When her cutie mark appeared though, it seemed to be a sign of sort. Her cutie mark was a lotus blossom. It made her curious because well, that was her sister’s name. When she jokingly asked her sister about the cutie mark, however, her sister turned to her and showed that she as well had received her cutie mark and it was also a lotus blossom. In Aloe’s mind, that pretty much confirmed that whatever the two of them would end up doing in the future, they would end up doing it together.

After they got their cutie marks, Aloe and Lotus both began to produce more of their own creations and began to sell them alongside the family named products that their parents sold. This became dull very quickly though and Aloe wasn’t very keen on remaining behind the scenes.

Apparently, great minds think alike, and twins as well as her sister proposed the idea of using their products to open up a day spa. She went over some of the things that they would need to do, and it wasn’t much different than what they did now, but would allow ponies a chance to get a look at how their products worked before they decided to buy them. She was a bit hesitant though when her sister mentioned massages though. When Lotus gave Aloe her first massage though, she was hooked on the idea.

When they pitched the idea to their parents, they seemed rather interested in the idea of the spa but noted that there were so many around in Trottingham that it would be difficult to get their name out there against the already well-established entities. After looking around and doing a small bit of research, Aloe found, what was at the time, a small town named Ponyville. It seemed like the perfect place to set up a little spa as it had just a bit of everything and had all types of ponies there.

Within weeks of opening, the say spa already had a regular customer. It was a white unicorn mare with a deep purple mane and tail with three diamonds for a cutie mark. They had apparently done something to impress the unicorn as she alone became an important staple in their business. She had a set routine when she would come in, and she could be a tad bit excessive at times, but Aloe didn’t really mind. As long as she kept coming back it was a success, and with as many bits as the mare spent there, she hoped that the mare would keep coming for a very long time.

The spa is now located in the Ponyville Market district, and thankfully was able to survive the onslaught of many different events in Ponyville since Aloe and her sister moved there. Aloe had to admit, Ponyville was a lot more than met the eye. There was the mess that Discord caused when he came back from being imprisoned, and the messes that he still currently makes because he’s not currently imprisoned. One day a pair of thoughtless colts brought an Ursa in from the Everfree Forest. That was a real doozy as they were trying to get a traveling unicorn to show off only to embarrass her in front of the town. She would have felt sorry for this mare had she not come back and try to turn Ponyville into her own personal kingdom. Lastly all the destruction that the weird goat centaur like creature did with his explosive magic-stealing magic.

Now that she thought about it, Aloe was quite surprised that their spa had been relatively unaffected by these events. That being said, just like any other place of business they’ve had their fair share of highs and lows, including a point where they had to take two loans out from their parents just to keep the spa open because for a while Rarity and her friends where their only customers. While it was always nice to have repeat customers like that, six ponies alone weren’t enough to sustain any of business. Of course, there were there annual sales, the Spring and Summer Spectacular and Whistling Winter Wonders. They were the two times of year that their business excelled greatly.

Of course though, during sales like that all kinds of customers are attracted even the more… unsavory ones, and aside from Fluttershy, the problems usually started with a pegasus. Now Aloe wasn’t a speciest pony by any means, but due to several recent encounters with a couple pegasi in the Ponyville Market destroying stalls while in she’s at them and making her feel bad for the shop owner, or the one pegasi that practically broke down their door during one of their annual sales looking for a mare. This has made Aloe at least a bit wary of pegasi.

Character Summary:

Personality:

Aloe’s personality is actually a lot more complex than one might imagine. She’s a completely different pony when she’s not working the spa. In both instances she can be quite the chatter box, but when she’s working, she’s always focusing on what the customer wanted to talk about. Sometimes this got a bit awkward, and when their customers came in groups she would usually just perform her services and let them relax and speak amongst themselves. After all, the entire point of the day spa was to give the residents a place to go to in order to relax, and be problem free for however long they were there

Of course, when she was dealing with customers, Aloe tended to be the stricter one when it came to regiments, pricing, and finances. It greatly annoyed her when some of the ponies would try to get a discount over something minor that happened. She once received a complaint about a bubble bath not having enough bubbles even though the basin was over flowing with them. The mare was simply looking for anything that she could complain about to try to get a discount. Aloe was not amused, but in the best interest of the spa and keeping the customer happy she relented. She was also a very punctual mare. Regardless of what type of event or anything of the like that she was scheduled to be at, she would always be there bright and early raring to go. She was definitely the early riser type, and it drove her sister crazy to no end to how she could have that much energy so early in the morning.

When she’s out and about though, and not working at the spa, Aloe is a very laid back mare and is always looking for gossip. Of course, she knows not to get too involved with the gossip. She learned that when the three fillies that called themselves “Gabby Gums” did their articles on nothing but gossip. It went on to show Aloe, and at least to her knowledge most of Ponyville that gossip isn’t always a good thing.

Still though, being a spa pony a heart Aloe is always one to help ponies relax in difficult situations, even to the extent of give them a free service at the spa. It helped usually for the most part, and let the pony unwind. She always enjoys making friends, and when given the chance will go on for as long as she can about her sister, or the spa, or anything else that she might find fascinating that day.

She also has a bit a sweet tooth, and because of this, monthly visits to the local dentist are needed. She loves anything sugary, and is a frequent customer at most of the candy stalls in Ponyville. She generally prefers hard candy that she can suck on while she’s working, but anything that is sweet usually does the trick for her. On the flip side, she can’t stand anything bitter, like pickles. She can’t stand them. Among all else though if there is one thing that she cannot, and will not tolerate, is a pony being disrespectful towards another, especially for no reason. She may not have fancy magic like the unicorns do, but she will step in to attempt to diffuse the situation and figure out what was going on.

Likes: Her Sister Lotus, Sweets, Long baths, seeing the Smile of a satisfied customer

Dislikes: Ponies that expect discounts for every minute detail, Disrespectful ponies, especially ones that try to take advantage of her and her sister and extremely sour or foods
