A Changeling of Company

If one were to describe his home's main-room with one adjective, it would be unorthodox. Uncanny, would only be a terrible understatement.

The flooring had been finished with a white outdoors marble, that had the mortar carefully sealed for what chaos was soon to come. Tearing through the flooring in the center of the room was what appeared to have been a small pond, where it's main source of water had been coming from a stream of water fed through the side of the house by a screened grate. This stream first treckles down a granite construction of black and white speckled of square blocks, that was surrounded by a large variety of evergreen plants in fertile soil just slightly below the layering of tile. The stream then flows into a moat that runs around the room in a squared spiral pattern before it finally meats the pond. Over the top of this moat was a layer of heavy duty glass to keep ponies, and other items from stepping inside the water.

Bookshelves were lined around the walls, and were laid out carefully in row in the middle of the floor. The ones in the center of the room surrounding the pond had a much sturdier look behind them. Perhaps this was due to the fact that these bookshelves were also part of an elaborate construction of a loft supporting a large round table and a few large pillows. Connecting to this lofted platform where walkways that ran across the many other bookshelves. A few small shelves hung from the ceiling, and requires one to literally walk across the many other bookshelves.

What wasn't intended to be walking space had became patches of more fertile soil, holding more evergreen shrubbery. In some places of the walls, were modified tubing that had origionally been used as plumbing, became interesting methods of decoration. Painted, and reshaped to become a sconces lighting, that also held smaller plants.

Decorating the walls were a large variety of imagery and prose. Poems that the pony loved were framed and hung on the walls. Paintings and other forms of artwork were also hunged up, non-from any real famous artist, but the pony adored them anyways. Nerdy posters of comic heroes, and some real classics were also among them. Boxes full of notes and scrolls, reference books, comics, toys, building blocks, and even some odd contraptions littered the bookshelves. Glass doors kept everything protected from it's bizzare surroundings.

The only sane construction for a home, would be the stairwell leading up to the second floor, and down to the basement level. The doors leading to the kitchen, and outside. Though the kitchen door was actually located on one of the walkways in the main room.

It had been a while sense Java had some downtime to himself. And here he was, or... rather in the middle of no where he was. Not really in the middle of no where. He was actually lounging in his own bizarrely designed house's foyer. He was actually lost in his own thoughts as he laid across a large cushion, with his over-sized feline companion lying across his chest, and mostly on the hardwood floor.

A hoof had been calmly stroking the tiger's head as his stare remained fixed on the ceiling above him. “So this is what relaxing feels like...” he hummed to himself. He wasn't really one for wasting time. And relaxing was usually removed from the stallion's list of priorities. But... after being told to do so by a local canterlot doctor, he couldn't help but to give it a try.

And back where he was. His mind having gone off on some sort of zen like trance. He had actually forgotten that he had placed flyers asking for a lab assistant across the streets at night. Oh well, it's not like he should actually put them to work right away. Maybe bonding with his new assitant would be nice for a night, before subjecting that pony to the terror that is his lab. And the tatarus spawn of a engineering facility he works for, that has a well known reputation for it's engineers blowing logic to oblivion.

“This is nice...” he hummed to himself over Sinewave's gentle purrs.

Flux hummed happily to herself as she danced and bounced her way down the street. Canterlot! This was exciting! She hadn't been here since... Well, if she was right, since the wedding invasion. Oh well, it didn't matter if she was right or not. Since she had lost her memory, this may as well be her first time.

The 'unicorn' grabbed a lamppost with a foreleg and used it to spin herself around it, humming a single high note during the entire spin. She didn't care that it was nighttime or that, as her imaginary friends had pointed out many times, there might be bad ponies around. She would take care of any bad ponies as they became a problem. It was a matter for the future, and she lived in the now!

She happily continued on her way until a flyer caught her eye, and she stopped suddenly. Her humming trailed off into a quizzical noise as she inspected the piece of paper more closely. A lab assistant? She didn't know all that much about how labs worked, but she loved assisting ponies, so she headed off in the direction of the specified building, her humming and bouncing starting back up again.

After awhile, she finally found the building in question and made her way to the door, knocking on it before sitting on her haunches and continuing her humming. She swayed slightly from side to side in time with her humming as she waited for the door to be answered.

Java stirred as his day dreaming had encountered some sort of musical ringing sounds. Which was quite odd… because the world he was swimming around in was full of nothing but numbers… coffee… and kittens. Yes… plenty of happy kittens of all kinds. House kittens, jungle cubs, even displacer beasts! But oh… there was that blasted ringing noise again. Which had been causing all the kittens to stir restlessly, making them cry.

Finally Java snapped out of it when he felt Sine lick his eye with her rough tongue. That combed appendage was easily an unlawful method of torture that should be outlawed in any country. The very sound of the lick, was sharp enough to be heard in Java's bedroom down in the basement below. It sounded like a velcro being torn apart. “EUuuuaawaaaaah? OW, H-hey! Knock it off,” The pony cried after pulling his head away. Java’s eyes quickly noticed Sine looking at the door, even rising off of him to give him the ability to move once more.

“Company? They actually knocked this time? They know what a door is? Oh! But… I wonder what… OH CRUD! THAT’S RIGHT!”

The pony had forgotten about the fliers again. Though he was surprised that anyone would come rasping on his door in the middle of the night. But, who ever this pony was, was easily a perfect candidate just for that! Perfect indeed!

“Ah! Company,” The scientist’s voice rang out with a delighted note. “Coming~ Just hang tight!”

The pony quickly scrambled to his hooves, and lept off the lofted platform. Though when a large cat sleeps on the lower half of your body for some time, you will feel the results eventually. His lower body had fell asleep in the middle of his daydreaming, and caught against the railings. So instead of a graceful leap, it turned into a painful fall face first to the marble.

The sound of his skull hitting the hard ground echoed in the room, leaving the pony writhing in pain. But that didn’t stop him. The stallion tried to rise to his legs, and walk forward, only to fall over and knock over a nearby coffee table. Sending a mug crashing and shattering on the ground. The stallion now stunned, rolled around for a moment in a daze, before shifting onto his stomach. The pony slowly slid along the floor, unable to stand up with the condition his back legs are in. “C-Coming! J-just hold tight for a moment! A bit of trouble…”

It took a while. But eventually the pony reached the door. Having to brace himself against the wall as his back legs wobbled. He finally pushed the door open, and greeted the mare with a bright smile. His eyes flickered over her for a moment however, a bit hesitantly.

He can openly admit that he was a bit shocked to see an attractive mare at his doorstep. Sure, it was probably for the Lab assistant. But from what he understood, he had a horrible reputation. Not as a horrible pony. But just for his questionable sanity and lack of concern for his own personal safety, and perhaps others. As for the bright colors she bore? Well, the Analogus was nice, but it made it a little difficult to look at her in the brightest of lights. But perhaps that's what gave her a visual lure?

H-hello! Come in! Come in! Make yourself at home! Sorry for the mess though. N-now...." The pony stuck his head outside for a moment, and quickly shifted his head around to look about the outside world. Wondering if some pony had placed her up to it. "You're here for the Lab assistance... yes?"

Well, there was definetly someone in there. Flux stopped humming when she heard something that sounded like something had fallen a ways. Then she tilted her head more and more as sounds of crashing reached her ears as well as the voice of a male creature. By the time the door was answered, her head was tilted so much it was practically sideways. Flux smiled broadly at the stallion before returning her head to it's original position. He looked fun! The stallion told her to come in, so she stood and happily made her way inside.

It looked even better on the inside. Flux darted around the foyer as she took in the chaos and randomness of it all. It was a kind of organized chaos, but still. She almost didn't hear the question, though she did and poked her head out of a bush and looked over at him with a smile.

"Yeah! I like assisting!" Flux beamed before noticing the tiger on the loft. In a flash, she was petting the tiger happily

Java's head withdrew back into the house, with the door slamming shut behind himself. The Stallion stood, looking incredibly confused for a moment, and then glanced back to the doorway. He gave his head a light shake, and slowly turned around to watch the mare stroll inside. He chuckled a bit as she didn't seem to mind his bizarre sense of home decor. But, was actually pleasantly surprised when she rushed up to the platform to greet his residence's kitty.

Java smiled as the cat gave out a low grumpy growl when the mare approached her, but lowered her head down and resumed purring as she was petted all to kindly.

"Well, I must say in the first forty seconds you gave me several pleasant surprises. Not a lot of ponies are actually... erm... well... sane enough to approach Sine. Fear of her being an over grown cat I guess."

To the remark, the tiger lifted her head, and revealed her displeasure to the Stallion by flashing him with her shiny teeth.

"Oh relax grumpy cat," Java hummed as he now slowly sauntered up the steps.

"Right... so you said you liked assisting? Well, I am afraid I am done for the night. Doctors orders after an event with sky pirates... and airships. And some other nonsensical garbage he spouted off. But you are welcome to stay for as long as you like."

The tiger was initially growling, but now it was purring. Flux beamed as she petted the large cat, looking back at the stallion as he began talking, saying most ponies didn't approach the cat. She looked back at the cat for a moment before tilting her head slightly. Why wouldn't they? This cat was sweet, you just needed to be nice. Oh, the stallion was still talking.

She frowned momentarily at the news that she was too late to help out for the night. Then her eyes lit up at the news of sky pirates and such. Soon she was bouncing around him, coming dangerously close to falling off the platform at times, though she managed to stay on every time.

"Sky pirates? That sounds fun! Was it?" Flux asked excitedly as she continued her circular path around the stallion. "This place is great, btw. I like it." She added, now bouncing with a wide smile and her eyes closed, though she still somehow managed to stay on the platform.

Java wore a broad grin after seeing the mare become completely energetic. Much to his relief because the look of disappointment origionaly made the stallion feel bad for upsetting her. So, to further feed her energy, the Stallion thought back to the Flight of the Valkryie back in Pinto Desert. It was just a test flight, but the entire thing went downhill with the sudden explosion of an incederary shell above their head. No pony died, or got seriously hurt. But it was a grueling sight to see the sky become filled with char black smoke, and twisted metal.

Java gave a light laugh, after remembering his impromptu crew's faces. Yes, he could admit it was both fun and exciting. Even though it was a tad bit dangerous, and every single action that he and his crew made... tended to make very little sense, and pretty much made the situation much worse.

"Yeah, I can say it was fun! Fun indeed," The stallion laughed as he now reached into his coat to pull out a small post card that he had sent to various other ponies.

It showed a small group of ponies scrambling along a torn up airship, dodging fire and fighting Changelings, pegasus, and a few griffons. On the top of the card it said, "Wish you were here." It was almost a ironic really given the chaos that was dipicted in the piture. Along with various injuries.

But it was all cleared up with a small addendum below. "Then again... perhaps not."

"Welp! It gave me a few new scars," The pony laughed as he now pointed to his eye after moving some of his coat out of the way. There was one major cut underneath the bottom eye lid. "There... and a few areas I'd rather not display for common decency."

The pony then quickly scrambled to one of the nearby book shelves. His hooves clumsily knocking a variety of books out of their place as he grabbed hold of a glass cube. He then held it up for the other to look at. Inside was a pair of brass goggles. The right lenses was badly damaged and nearly destroyed by a splenter of wood that had managed to jam it's self completely through. "And lost a good pair of safety goggles!"

The pony then tossed it up into the air, towards the mare as he continued. "Good and prime example of the logic behind safety! Wear goggles! Then look directly into an explosion!"

Flux stopped her bouncing and took a seat in front of the stallion, looking at him expectantly as he laughed. Soon enough, the stallion confirmed that the event had been a fun one. He then pulled out a postcard and Flux moved so she could see the picture on it. It was a scene of chaos, one of battle, of a small group of ponies fighting a larger force made up of changelings, pegusi, and griffons. It certainly made Flux wished she were there. It looked like a fun experience.

She looked up as the stallion continued speaking, pointing out a scar below one of his eyes before saying there were a couple more he wasn't going to show for the sake of decency. She snorted out a laugh at that as the stallion scrambled away towards one of the bookshelves. When she turned to follow his path, he was holding a glass box with a pair of ruined goggles in them. She caught the box in her magic as he tossed it towards her, then brought it around to look more closely at it.

Yep, definitely ruined. She looked back up as the stallion continued, talking about the logic of safety. She giggled at that, taking one last look at the box before levitating it back onto the shelf the stallion had taken it from.

"Sounds like a fun time! Wish I had been there." Flux said, standing again and smiling widely. "I like you, ..." She stood there for a moment in silence as she realized she didn't know the stallion's name and he didn't know her's. "Right, names. I thought I had forgotten something." She said, shaking her head slightly.

"I'm Flux. What's your name?" She asked, looking back at him and smiling.

The stallion recoiled at the comment. Almost immediately becoming flustered by the mare's sudden declaration. Though, the stallion was thankful for his dark fur easily hiding a minor blush, it was a bit more obvious when he spoke. His words fumbled around for a moment before returning to their usual pattern.

“ER-w-well,” the pony began with his eyes rolling off to the side in thought, before quickly flicking back. The mare was probably just a childish adult, he thought to himself. Likely not meaning much by it.

The pony's smile returned as he now plopped down in a pillow. “Well, the name is Voronoi Fractal. I sort of lost a bet with a prince, so I have to actually give that name out now. But I much rather preferred to be called Java, if you will!”

The pony then rolled onto his back and stretched his legs high into the air, “And it's good to meet you Flux! Hm... odd name. Perhaps something science like? Maybe Physics! Or maybe a bit different? Care to tell me what your tallest is~”

Flux giggled softly as the stallion seemed to be flustered by something. She then tilted her head in confusion as the stallion spouted out a name. Voreohnoy Fracktall? What kind of name was that? Her muzzle scrunched up in frustration until the stallion said he preferred to be called by a much more manageable name. Java, she could remember that. Flux took a seat on an empty cushion, giggling again at what Java was doing.

She rolled onto her back as well and began to imitate his position, not really paying attention to the sciencey talk. She giggled a bit at her imitation, then froze as he asked what her talent was. She remained in the same position for a couple moments, her legs in full stretch, before she relaxed her legs and turned her head to grin sheepishly at the stallion.

"Ummm... Chaos? I'm not really sure..." She said, looking back to the ceiling with a sigh.

Java blinked for a moment, and pulled his legs closer to his body so he could roll onto his side. His curiously studying the mare for a moment, before dipping down to her flank to catch a glimpse of her cutie mark. "Not quite sure? Huh... that's interesting..." The pony hummed.

"Is it... a vague tallent? Or you really don't remember what it was?" The pony rolled back to his hooves and stood up. One forehoof quickly retreated behind his vest to pull out a pair of glasses as he came closer. He quickly slipped the pair of spectacles over his muzzle and leaned down a bit closer to get a better look at the cutie mark.

His head slowly tilted as his eyes flickered over every bit of detail. This mark was actually very unfamiliar to the pony. But it came close to resembling the sign of entropy. If not a bit eldritch in form. Perhaps it was chaos magic? A bit destructive, but just one look over the mare, and Java could swear that she only meant good intentions.

"Well... erm... how are you at magic?"

Flux simply stared glumly at the ceiling as Java spoke again, asking if it was a vague talent or if she simply didn't remember. Java approached her and leaned down close to her flank. She couldn't see him physically, but she could tell where the emotions were coming from. Anyways, Java began examining her cutie mark... well, the one she had put there anyways. She wasn't even sure why she had selected that one, it had just seemed like a good idea at the time. She sighed again as he asked how she was with magic.

"Alright, I guess. I don't know that many spells." At least not that many she wanted to use in public... Actually, there were only two she didn't want to use in public. "I don't remember much of anything before I was an adult, honestly. I just woke up outside Ponyville one day. No memory of anything." She admitted, still staring at the ceiling as she talked.

Java listened to the story as he pulled away, and slipped his pair of glasses back into his vest. He looked down to the mare, feeling a bit sorry for the girl. Memories were something he generally cherished along with life. And to hear that a pony lost hers was nearly heart-breaking if the mare hadn’t been so indifferent about it.

“Oh…” The scientist began with a distant note. His body now lowering back down to the floorboards as he felt it was now best to drop it. “Erm… I am sorry to hear that.”

The stallion hummed softly for a moment as he glanced over the mare’s expression. A small idea did come to mind on how he could cheer her up. It was just a small thought on how she bee-lined straight for Sine earlier this evening. And so, a moment later, he tapped his hooves down on the ground for a moment. And like it was a signal, the Tiger had jumped up almost immediately, and lounged forwards. Her hefty wait came crashing down on the two of them, after knocking Java over with a rough head-butt.

A moment later, she was nuzzling against the two playfully.

At least Java wasn't pressing the issue. Talking about her lost memories always made her sad. She wished she could remember her childhood, or anything before waking up outside Ponyville. She sighed again as Java said he was sorry to hear about her lost memories. It was silent for a couple moments, besides the noises coming from Java. Then she was suddenly underneath both Java and Sine. She gave a surprised squeak before giggling as Sine nuzzled the two ponies. Flux began petting the cat again as she relaxed and let the cat do it's thing.

"Such a great cat." She said distantly as she smiled up at the ceiling. They had taken her mind off her past and placed it back into the present, where it belonged.

Java laughed as the cat moved around to give the mare a few rough licks around the snout. "I know right," The stallion chimmed proudly of his beast. His forelegs quickly wrapping around the torso of the great feline. "I thought she was only a kitten when I first got her. I didn't think she would be a tiger cub. But I couldn't let her go after I found out. She's a bit of a sweetie when you get past her grumpy nature."

The stallion gave the feline's side a rough scratch with his hoof, before finally twisting his head to look up at the mare. Quite happy to see that her mood had taken a complete one-eighty from it's previous disposition. "Now then. Since you like assisting ponies so much. If figure I will hold you up to it then! Tomorrow I plan on continuing with my work. Would you like to join me then?”

Java paused for a moment now having to wiggle a bit under the large cat, But eventually he managed to pull himself free enough that his head was literally lying across the mare’s stomach. If he tried moving any further, and he might find himself being suffocated underneath the massive feline’s weight.

“Erff… Sine-deary… we need to put you on a diet…” The pony whinned as he felt his chest now starting to compress.

The cat only rolled her eyes, and placed a paw on the scientist’s head, forcing it back down on top of the mare. The stallion flailed his hooves frantically to try and shake the feline off of himself. But the cat only slumped further onto the stallion's body. Effectively pinning him down.

“Oof! Erm… ok! Now… you’re a bit of an oddball! And that’s great! Perfect even!”

Flux giggled again as Sine began licking her around her snout. It felt strange, but good. Apparently Java had picked her up as a cub, though he thought she would be a housecat, not a tiger. Flux was happy he had decided to keep the cat, as this moment wouldn't have happened otherwise. Flux looked at Java as he said he would be continuing his work the next day before asking if she would be there to assist. She beamed at him before responding.

"Yeah, I'll be there!" She said as Java partially wiggled himself out from under the cat. His head ended up on her stomach, but Flux didn't mind. She giggled slightly at the feelings. Her giggles continued as Java suggested Sine go on a diet, only to be met with a paw pushing his head back down into the 'unicorn's stomach. He flailed wildly as he tried to escape, saying that the cat was an oddball and that that was a good thing. Flux agreed with that. After watching for a moment, Flux wrapped Sine in a hug and playfully rubbed herself against the cat.

Java continued smiling as he now just relaxed where he was. The tiger seemed indigent on staying where she was, so he wasn't moving any time soon. Nor could he return his hooves to rubing her coat. “Well Flux,” The pony began with a curious note. Like all employers, there is always one section that he has to pry on. Even if it meant that he had to delve into her forgotten past.

“What did you do before you wanted to become my assistant? I am kinda curious actually! This is so I know where to start tomorrow of course!”

Flux eventually released the hug and relaxed back again, idly petting the tiger as the three of them lay there in a heap. Java seemed to accept his position and relaxed as well. Java broke the silence after a while, asking what it was that she had done before coming to be his assistant.

"Oh, a little bit of this, a little bit of that." Flux hummed, looking down at the head on her stomach before continuing. "I just did what I could find. Mostly odd jobs. And a lot of traveling."

"Odd jobs and traveling, eh?" The pony slowly looked up to the ceiling. Thinking about the amount of results this would provide. Well, the odd job aspects were bound to provide her much needed experience and no how for the bizzare experiments and devices Java tended to produce. Which would be a plus.

But the lack of any specification really made it difficult to determine if he would have to teach her anything before they began any serious work together as partners. And then the lack of a permanent residence. Well, honestly Java would feel bad about himself if he was to just toss the mare back outside, if she were paying from her own pocket, and had no real work to do today.

"Well! This will be an interesting experience for the both of us then! Though, I hope you don't mind the possibilities of injuries? I try my best to keep things safe... keyword there..." The pony's tone then turned a bit nervous. He was actually hoping he wasn't scaring her in any way. "but things... tend... to go a bit missed. I am only pony after all heh-heh."

The stallion cleared his throat, and turned his head to look up at the mare, whom he was currently using like a very soft and delightfully warm pillow. "Well! I'd hate to send you back out without any work, if you have to pay for a room from your own pocket. You're welcome to stay the night if you wish!"

Flux turned her gaze back to the ceiling and stared contentedly at it as she petted the large cat currently keeping Java and her in place. She thought she would like it here, working for this pony. Maybe... maybe she should make this a permanent thing... finally settle down. She enjoyed traveling, but it was nice to have a place she could belong. Eventually, Java spoke up, saying that this would be an interesting experience for both of them before asking if she minded that it held the possibility of injury.

"No, I don't mind the possibility. I'm used to it. Traveling can get dangerous sometimes." She said simply, keeping her gaze on the ceiling until Java spoke again, saying she could stay the night in the house. She tilted her head down to look at him, meeting his gaze and staring for a couple seconds before smiling.

"Thanks! I'd love to have a sleepover!" She said enthusiastically, clapping her forehooves together a couple times before going back to petting Sine gently.

“Ah good,” The pony chimed happily. His tail wagging along the ground. He was always happy to have guest! Plus it meant that he could have some time to get to know his new found friend, and possible assistant tonight! Java had his hopes pretty high.

The pony wiggled underneath Sine to see if she was inclined to let him up. But the tiger only lazily glanced down to the stallion, and moved her head to rest on the mare’s chest. Alright, so the oversized cat didn’t seem to want anyone to get up now.

“Well! Just a few things! Upstairs is the Lab! And then downstairs is all the typical facilities that makes a house!” The pony then nodded to his right, “Except the kitchen. The kitchen is to the left!”

The pony then thought for a moment, realizing that he may need to prepare something for her to eat pretty soon before continuing on with the verbose tour of the house.

“Now! This house only has one room. Which I lovingly designed to appear like a cave! I understand you may have your needs for privacy! So you may use it! I hardly use the room myself anyways!”

Java was happy that she had agreed to stay the night, if she was reading the emotions coming off him correctly, though the smile on his face kind of gave it away. His happiness caused Flux to smile as well, then giggle as Sine laid her head on Flux's chest. Now she had two heads using her midsection as a pillow. She didn't mind though. As they laid there, Java began saying where things were in the building. The lab was upstairs, and everything else besides the kitchen was apparently downstairs. What was this middle part for then? If all there really was here was a kitchen and all these walkways, why?

Flux decided not to question the house's design, she enjoyed the chaos and randomness in it. Only one room? Designed like a cave? And she got to use it all to herself? Cool! Flux beamed down at the stallion as she draped a foreleg over Sine's neck.

"Thanks! Where are you gonna sleep though?" She asked, tilting her head slightly as one of her imaginary friends pointed out the flaw in the stallion's offer. Then the two imaginary friends broke out into an argument about where the stallion would sleep, causing Flux to tilt her head so that she was looking behind her, though her vision was upside down. She glared at the two imaginary figures for a couple seconds before rolling her eyes and sighing. She then looked back at Java and smiled at him again.

"Well! No need to worry about me," The stallion hummed as he now turned to look up at the cieling. He'd wave a hoof in the air in a disregarding manner if he could. But Sine was still holding him hostage. "I am quite used to this already! As far as where I will sleep? I don't really sleep much actually! Not for days at a time! That bedroom goes pitifully underused as I tend to sleep more in the lab, or on these pillows than downstairs!"

The pony then chuckled, "I think... this is my fourth day without sleep? Mmmm quite possibly yes."

Apparently Java went for days at a time without sleeping. Or if he did sleep, it was usually in the lab or where they were currently laying instead of the bedroom. Ah well, that explained that. Flux nodded thoughtfully as she tuned out her imaginary friends and their new argument about how it was possible for Java to go so long without sleep and still be how he was.

"Impressive." She said quietly, looking down at the stallion before continuing. "Anyways, thanks again for the free room!" Flux added, beaming.

"Oh most certainly not a problem," Java hummed now as he began to wiggle a bit more. He continued to speak as he did his best to get free of the feline. "I pride my self greatly on efficiency! And when you take sleep out of the equation... well let's say you get back a lot of time! Though people will start calling you unkind things. Like crazy, and true. There have been time's where I-" His voice was now nothing but hot air and mumblings as his head disappeared under the cat. Though this didn't stop the stallion.

His body kept thrashing roughly, as his mumbles persisted. And eventually, his words became coherent again when he managed to squeeze his head out from under the feline. " -my hoof in their flanks! But the kind doctor back in the hospital thinks I may do such a thing quite literally. As, many previous conditions were when I approached him. Apparently I am to literal for my own good, and do not have a firm understanding of modern colloquies and idioms." The pony snorted.

"I just thinks he's worried about reattaching a hoof located in the wrong place of another pony."

The pony then clopped his hooves together.

"Now then my kind guest! Have you eatten yet?"
