Name: Stiletto

Gender: Female

Age: Young mare. Essentially just become a young adult.

Species: Pegasus

Eye colour: Deep blue

Character colour: A very pale blue, not light, but pale.

Mane/Tail/Other: Stiletto's mane and tail are usually in a mess as the air currents mess up any styling she chooses to apply. That said, when she is on the ground it looks presentable and quite pretty. Both are long and bushy, coloured bright cyan and highlighted with pale blue, though a lighter pale blue than her coat.

Physique: Stiletto is lean from flying and is slightly shorter than the average mare. Her wings are slightly larger than average for a pegasus of her size.

Residence: Stiletto has no permanent residence, instead she makes do with hostels, hotels and the couch of friends. She has a semi permanent home in the form of her parent's house in Cloudsdale, which she often comes back to when work is scarce.

Occupation: PMC, (Private Military contractor). She is an aerial recon specialist and doesn't particularly mind where her contracts come from.

Cutie Mark: Stiletto earned her cutie mark a little while after she discovered her love of flight. For a while in junior flight camp Stiletto was bemused to find that she wasn't earning her cutie mark there. After a particularly energetic display of aerobatics she thought she had more than earned her curie mark. She just couldn't figure out why her special talent wasn't her aerobatic skills. Of course, there had been fillies who were better at it than her, but she was still left puzzled as to why her best skill was not her destiny. Stiletto became uncharacteristically sombre throughout the rest of flight camp and her test scores dropped so far she was in danger of dropping out. Being away from the support of her parents and the apparent indifference of her friends who brushed off her worries with 'don't worry, you'll get it eventually' simply drove her further into a depression. Eventually one day she had enough and decided she would try and go as high as she could to get away from it all. Pretty soon she flew higher than what was safely allowed by the instructors, then higher still. Eventually she reached her limit which far surpassed anything the other fillies could achieve. There among the clouds she reached an epiphany. The world looked so beautiful from that height, Stiletto found the view breathtaking. Looking down on all the other pegasi she started to pick out those she knew and those she didn't and seemed to be able to guess what they were doing and where they were going. Right then she knew that was what she wanted to do and her cutie mark appeared. A formation of the wispy Noctilucent clouds. The highest clouds in the sky.

Unique Traits: Flying- Stiletto is an accomplished flyer, but she isn't fast. Instead, Stiletto's strength in flight relies on her manoeuvrability. So while she may not be able to out fly some pegasi, she can certainly outmanoeuvre them when it comes to turning speed and aerobatics. Stiletto can also fly higher than just about any pegasus in Equestria. Only the Wonderbolts can really compare to how high she can fly, an extremely useful ability that she uses quite often in her job as aerial recon.

Empathic Abilities - Stiletto, while there's nothing magical about this, appears to be a minor empath. She can tell, with near perfect accuracy how other ponies are feeling and if they are lying to her. She tends to go with the flow, focusing less on herself and more on others. Even from a great distance and viewed through a spyglass she can usually tell what is on other ponies' minds and what their intentions are. Her ability extends to the world as a whole, if something big is about to happen that'll effect her she usually gets some sort of hunch. This is an incredible useful skill which makes her invaluable for recon missions.

History: Stiletto was born in Cloudsdale to her father, Swift Sabre and her mother, Sweet Jump. Swift Sabre was originally part of the Canterlot royal guard and aspired to become a wonderbolt at one time. The ever present danger made Sweet Jump worry for his safety and he quit before Stiletto was born. Now he is a simple weatherpony like Stiletto's mother. Growing up in Cloudsdale Stiletto always wondered what the world was like beyond the high clouds of her home. She attended junior flight camp where she earned her cutie mark for flying at great heights then went on to graduate Cloudsdale flight school. Her desire to see the world was hampered by the need for money, something her parents couldn't supply her. Stiletto wanted to go far and wide which was hampered by government controls and safety procedures. This made her resentful to the government for stopping her doing what she wanted to do, so she has resided herself that in order to do what she wants she'll have to work for it and play the system. While she never liked fighting she has very good talents that make her perfect for recon. Stiletto signed up as a mercenary in a small pegasus mercenary battalion as a forward scout. They gave her training in the concepts of aerial warfare and allowed her access to the tools of war. Mainly a crossbow and a lance. She distinguished herself as one of the best scouts in the battalion and soon was promoted to lead scout. Stiletto did not excel in this role however, her lone wolf approach being off-putting to her allies. The mercenary battalion never moved outside the badlands which Stiletto eventually grew tired of. The youth left the company and set off as a lone mercenary, joining up with whoever paid well or whoever was going somewhere interesting. It's likely she will stay like this, though the life of a loner can be trying at times. She has few friends and little experience with romance. For someone who once loved being around close friends this is upsetting for her and she may very well end up settling down somewhere, though for now she's just happy doing what she loves. Travelling and flying high in the sky.

Character Summary/Personality: Stiletto is the epitome of a free spirit. She loves doing what she likes, and most of the time that involves flying. Stiletto is friendly and pleasant to be around, though she is quick to turn hostile if it looks like ponies are trying to cheat her or in some way hinder her freedoms. She can be a great comfort to those in distress with her ability to know inherently what is wrong and she can be a great source of strength for her friends due to her inherent self confidence. In contrast to her adventurous lifestyle, she has little ambition outside of having fun. She is no hero or great adventurer, she's just a pony with a love of flying. Stiletto is young and immature which can be off-putting to some, and her tendency to couch surf has unfairly awarded her the reputation of being a mooch. She doesn't much care about what kind of mercenary contract she is on, as long as it's all good fun. Her lack of experience, her carefree demeanour and her young age tends to make some sceptical that she can perform as well as she claims. Though they are quick to lay those suspicions to rest once they see her informative and detailed reports on the enemy's troop movements. Stiletto doesn't quite seem to grasp the intense seriousness of war and conflict, to her each mission is just another opportunity for her to fly, and she's yet to have anything go seriously wrong. She likes music as well as dancing. Both are seen by her to be very expressive of freedom. She has little taste in art but likes paintings as well. Stiletto is also wary of losing friends and will go to great lengths to keep them. Though Stiletto is very good at what she does, she does so in her own time. The mercenary hates taking orders, though she doesn't mind too much if you ask nicely, and hates any kind of organised government. She sees such things as oppressive and contrary to what life should be about, doing whatever you like. Though it has been pointed out to her on multiple occasions that without government, Equestria would quickly turn into a lawless wasteland. Still, she doesn't buy that and claims that ponies are better than that. If she's right or not, is a matter for the ages...
