The sun burned along the horizon's edge, marking the end of the summer sun celebration and Luna stood beside her sister on the small platform built for them, ready to rise the moon for its shortest night. The Pegasi had put their best hoof forward in preparation and the sky was perfectly clear and more beautiful as the colors merged from a blazing orange to purple twilight. The few ponies gathered around the small platform along with a few royal guard stared at the sky waited with baited breath as Celestia push the sun that little further into darkness with a faint smile on her face. Rumors had already spread around town, saying Luna had done her absolute best to make the night sky more stunning then ever.

A few seconds pasted as the lingering light of the sun dissipated in the cool wind and a small go ahead nod from Celestia to her sister. Lune toke her stance and rose the moon into the night sky to reveal the dazzling stars inside a nebula's bountiful colors mixing together. However the moon itself was marked, much in the same way it was during Nightmare Moon's banishment, but as a huge hexagon trailing off at its edges and a dark swirl in it's center. Both Luna and Celestia frowned and looked concerned at the Moon hovering in its place in the night as though deep in thought.

Eclipse stood on guard as she watched Luna raise the moon again. She has always enjoyed this time of day as it reminded her of her childhood. Flying around in the light of the moon was Eclipse's most favorite thing to do as a kid a it made her feel relaxed after a long day of practice. She wondered how she signed up for the royal guards, since she was already happy with being a flight coach. Now it seems like she is being given order after order from her superiors. Eclipse couldn't wait to be Captain, as being a Lieutenant still not enough for her. Her days as a Rookie were even worse, but she wouldn't be standing where she was if she didn't train.

All these memories made her smile a little as she looked at the moon, then noticed something strange. The moon was never like that, she knew because she flew under it a thousand times! She gulped as she looked at the Princesses, who had also noticed. This doesn't look good.

Formosa smiled as Celestia lowered the sun and Luna brought up the moon. she was hoping to get a couple of sketches for some dresses but hadnt found any yet. When she had finished studying the princesses she noticed a troubled look on their faces. Formosas own face grew troublec as she followed their gaze to the newly raised moon. she gasped "inspiration!" she thought before realizing that perhaps this was not the time to think of her dresses.

A celebration is always a time to make a few extra bits... right?

Foxglove Foalfellow stood attentively next to his stand of miscellaneous goods, some of which being genuine, the others? Eh, not so much. Despite his normally booming personality and loud attention seeking demeanor, Foalfellow remained uncharacteristically quiet as the Princess herself began lowering the sun in the distant horizon. 'Big deal, it's not the first time the sun lowers, and it isn't the last...' he thought to himself as he looked over to the crowd, happily awaiting for the moon to assume the suns place in the night sky.

They went through the typical motions, The sun going down, and the moon going up, same as always, as the non caring Orange pony sighed and closed his eyes. 'Come on!' he wondered 'Lets get on with it...' He wanted to get a few faces turning his direction when everypony was to leave and head back home, he might actually be able to sell something then.

Opening his eyes, he noticed the moon, the stars and the endless expanse of black empty space above him, though something looked odd, what on Equestria was on the moon? It looked like some type of... insignia?

Gasps seemed to wave though the small crowd of ponies as each saw the moon and muttered of concerns and questions with the closest pony to them but seemed to await their rulers decree. Luna dropped her 'royal posture' as she turned to her sister with a questioning expression mixed with repressed anger and whispered in a harsh tone still very clear to hear "What magic could have defile the moon, sister!? Surely this is a symbol, but to whom does it belong?" A royal guard beside the platform's ramp made a quite comment to his partner of the effect 'royally pissed'

Celestia's features remanded unchanging as she seemed to stare unblinking at the moon until she finally looked away to answer in a clear tone in contrast to Luna's "I know not what the mark is, or whom to it belongs. Though it does seem familiar... Old, Ancient even" She turned back to the moon for the briefest moment before a rather plain looking brown pony spoke from the crowd and turned to face him, still maintaining the soft frown and patiently waiting for him to finish speaking.

"Good to know I've been forgotten after so long" His voice had a the slightest synthetic sound to it and the words rolled on in a bored tone, many of the pony's around him had backed off a good distance and cleared a large space around him to single him out from the crowd. Luna stopped gritting her teeth at the moon to glare at him with clearly unamused look "I had hoped at lest some pony could've recognized my crest. But I guess a particular, Tall, White, Alicorn Mare had a hoof in history and made sure I was never remembered or some pony might have question how benevolent she really was" He threw his hoof up to Celestia in a grand presentation manner with his eyes closed and huffed in boredom as he then spun around to every pony else close to him with a questioning stare "To keep myself talking; Does any pony know of the kingdoms before Celestia and Luna assumed control? How about you name another royal blood line whom matches your dear Princess'? Have you heard of the Harmonic Elemental Crystals?"

"Who the heck is that?" Eclipse thought as she scowled, seeing how disrespectful the stallion was to the Princesses. "Wasn't Equestria first founded by the three kingdoms? The Earth ponies, Unicorns, and Pegasi became friendly towards each other and lived together in peace" Eclipse said, with cold eyes glaring at the stallion. "However, I know nothing of these Harmonic Elemental Crystals, as I am only a royal guard"

Eclipse didn't even bother asking for permission to speak. Princess Luna glared at him not so long ago, that's enough to tell her that she's not to trust this guy. Maybe he was someone the Princesses once fought way before she was born. It didn't matter, if he were to hurt the Princesses, he'd better be ready for the soon-to-be Captain Eclipse!

Formosa listened as the stallion spoke and a Pegasus spoke up. Formosa exited her shop and walked toward the stallion "Are you say in that out princesses are untrustworthy?" She asked him a frown on her face. "If they've hidden anything from us than I would think they'd have good reason." She said looking him in the eye "Who are you anyway?"

Foalfellow was intrigued, though in absolute shock. He had never seen anypony ever dare question the two princesses authority, and yet this unknown, generic brown Stallion had the confidence to outright denounce the two of them in front of quite an audience.... An interesting time to challenge the two of them, especially implanting his authoritative insignia upon something that would be seen by anypony looking up to the nights sky... Whoever this pony was, he clearly meant business, and by his tone, he seemed incredibly serious about this whole affair.

He really, really, REALLY didn't want to get closer to this whole ordeal. He knew how much power the princesses combined could wield, and he didn't want to be anywhere near when the fireworks start going off. The changling invasion of Canterlot was enough action for himself for an entire lifetime and a half!

After brushing his mane above his head to one side, and placing his worn, old battered top hat upon his head and taking a deep 'gulp!' in anxiety, he concluded that running wasn't really wasn't a viable option, considering it would both be obvious and futile. He was involved in the situation regardless of his own opinion.

Walking up behind the crowd, he was able to get a place at the back, as he attempted to peer over the top of some of the bigger ponies in front of him in order to get a better view of things. He heard the questions presented by two other ponies the crowd, as he turned his head to the brown stallion, attentively waiting for his answer...

Foalfellow had a bad feeling about this....
