Buffalo Bills

Also notice, I adjusted the schedule to reflect that the NFL has 'flexed' the Giants-Vikings game into the 8:30pm slot for Sunday.

Elimination, I pick the Lions.

By the way... looks like we finally got an interesting MNF game. And not because I'm a homer, either. It's the first time two teams with winning records played each other on MNF since week 11's Bills (5-4) vs. the Patriots(9-0). And week 11 was the only other time in which both teams had more wins than losses.

So, as was the case with last season, order of finish will determine selection order for the playoff rounds of this game.

And so, here are the rules for the NFL Modified Elimination Pool Game PLAYOFF Challenge!

In each round of the NFL playoffs, all teams playing games that week will be part of a selection pool.

The HIGHEST ranked player will select their winning team for that week first, then the next highest ranked player, and so on until all players have a unique team picked. For the purposes of the NFL playoffs, players will NOT be allowed to select the SAME team as anyone else. This is why our 'regular season' mattered. It set up the picking order for the playoffs.

After that week's playoff games are done, those who picked winning teams will get to pick teams the following week. All those who pick losing teams will, as in the real NFL playoffs, be eliminated from further playoff action. The game will continue either until there remains one single winning player or the end of the Super Bowl, depending on who 'survives' each playoff round. It is also possible with this system that, under a certain set of circumstances, that no players will remain.

Each week of the Playoffs is basically a 'new game' with the changing 'Selection Pool' so players are free to choose different teams for each proceeding round.

The Playoff Selections will be 'open' after the Minn-GB game ends and the playoff matchups are settled.

Good Luck to all!

Gerrard will be first 'on the clock' when the Selection process begins. I will make a post to signal the beginning of the selection process later today. When your turn comes, please select quickly so as to give those behind you in the selection order a fair chance to pick before the playoffs begin on Saturday. I don't want to enforce time limits but I will have to IF players 'drag their feet' too long in picking.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!!

As we start to draft for teams in Mojo's playoff, let me start this other playoff game.

I'll start, so everyone knows how this'll go. Everyone can particpate, there is no seed, no requirements, no advantages, no disadvanatages. Anyone can join in.

Before we start, know the playoff perameters. 6 teams from each conference. 8 division winners and 4 wildcard teams. Seeds are awarded to teams based on season performance, higher seeds get home field advantage, seeds 1 and 2 get a bye in the first round.

Here are the seeds for the 2015-16 season:

NFC
1. Panthers
2. Cardinals
3. Vikings
4. Redskins
5. Packers
6. Seahawks

AFC
1. Broncos
2. Patriots
3. Bengals
4. Texans
5. Chiefs
6. Steelers

The playoff schedule is:

Wildcard
NFC 3v6
NFC 4v5
AFC 3v6
AFC 4v5

Divisional
NFC 1v lower seed
NFC 2v higher seed
AFC 1v lower seed
AFC 2v higher seed

Championship
NFC
AFC

Superbowl

Ok, now it's time. Here's what we need to do: Predict the playoffs in full. That is the objective. For every game you get correct in the first round, the wildcard, you will get 1 point. a division game is worth 2 points, a championship game is 3 points, and correctly picking the superbowl champion is 5 points. The losing team does not matter, what you are predicting is the winning team. That's it.

I'm going to make my prediciton here. Please make your prediction in this format. You should know how matchups continue by who you predict will win the previous week. As soon as the first wildcard game begins, all predictions will be final.

RIVERHIPPO:

Wildcard
Seahawks beat Vikings
Packers beat Redskins
Steelers beat Bengals
Chiefs beat Texans

Divisional
Panthers beat Seahawks
Cardinals beat Packers
Broncos beat Steelers
Cheifs beat Patriots

Championship
Cardinals beat Panthers
Broncos beat Chiefs

Superbowl
Broncos beat Cardinals

Those are my official predicitons. If you have any question, feel free to ask. When you are ready, please post your playoff predictions in this thread. You have until Saturday.

Folks, is it ANY surprise that River, the eternal Broncos fan, chooses Denver to win the Super Bowl and Steel, the ultimate Seahawks fan and creator of the 'SteelEagle Standings', chose Seattle to win it all?

Gerrard has chosen Kansas City, it's now my turn to choose and I cannot pick the Chiefs.

So instead, I will choose.. the Seattle Seahawks.

It's now River's turn and he cannot pick either Kansas City or Seattle.

NEXT will be Tacobob, then Steel, then IceStorm.

Week 17 results:

steeleagle1989 (10-6) 140

raritydash (10-6) 140

mojopony (10-6) 140

tacobobman (9-7) 100

Triple B (9-7) 100

skarmory (9-7) 100

riverhippo (7-9) 80

Ice Storm (7-9) 80

Three way wins for the last week of the season.

Weeks wins:

riverhippo 5

Triple B 4

raritydash 4

mojopony 4

tacobobman 3

Ice Storm 3

steeleagle1989 2

Overall after week 17:

riverhippo (159-96) 2000

mojopony (156-99) 1910

Triple B (156-99) 1910

steeleagle1989 (147-108) 1830

raritydash (148-107) 1820

Ice Storm (144-111) 1780

skarmony (146-109) 1750

tacobobman (149-106) 1750

cryote (10-4) 140

Note: The records should be accurate, but as I am human, these records may have been off by a number or two.  There are 256 regular season games, but everyone's win-loss total adds to 255, and I can't understand why.  I'm not going to take the time to go back and find the errors, but you are more welcome to do so if you want.  Also there were a few times when players failed to choose in time.  Instead of recording no loss for absent pick, I record the failure to pick as a loss as well (which means cryote should  be (10-245)).  The scores are all official, however.

Sorted by number of wins:

riverhippo - 159

Triple B - 156

mojopony - 156

tacobobman - 149

raritydash - 148

steeleagle1989 - 147

skarmory - 146

Ice Storm - 144

cryote - 10

And that's the end of the regular season.  This challenge will continue with the same rules into the playoffs.  As a reminder, it appears the same rules will get the twist of having fewer games to play, meaning it's possible getting all 4 wildcard games correct this week will result in the 50 point 'get all games correct' bonus.  I don't know for sure that this is how it will work, but we will find out.  If this is how it works, then this effectively means it's STILL anyone's race to win.  Good luck to everyone, the first wildcard games are on Saturday.

Tacobob, you're on the clock now and you cannot pick the Chiefs, Seahawks or Steelers.
