Khamsa spent most of her life training to become a great flyer to be talked about around the world. Everyday she practiced hard, usually passing out after working herself too hard. Even though she was absolutely sure that flying was going to be what her destiny involved, her constant practice didn't effect her lack of a mark at all. Frustrating was an understatement, it was practically maddening.

Her luck changed one day on a field to the flight history museum when she'd woken up late. She'd been waiting for this trip for weeks, counting the days until it arrived... and now she was gonna miss it because of a faulty alarm clock?! Not this filly. In hindsight she could have sworn that time had slowed down and she bolted out her window and  bolted for the train-station a few seconds after the engine fired up and clung to the window and huffing rapidly once somepony opened up the window and let her in.

Once She was inside it was pointed to her she now bore five swirls upon her flank, a sight that made her bounce around the cab with glee... until the ticket taker asked for her ticket and that was another story altogether.

History:

Khamsa was the fifth child in a fairly large family that comes the combination of a horse of Saddle Arabia and a pegasus of Equestria. The story of how she got her name was when she responded to a joke from her father that at this rate they may have to number their foals soon and she was the fifth, she laughed at the word and soon it was decided that Khamsa would be her name.

Since she was young, Khamsa proved to be something of a slacker, she ditched school fairly often and seemed fond of doing her own thing. The group would go one way, she'd got the other. There were some things she was willing to shirk her lazy streak for and that was flying; much of the time she took in regards to cutting school was used to work on her various exercises for her wings. The classes she didn't skip usually consisted of History classes and a bit of art class(even if she was terrible).

One of the bigger influences in her life was her big brother, Khamsin. He was the one who got her even mildly interested in comics as well as martial arts. He even helped plan the training regimen she followed everyday to get as fast and agile as she is.

Once she'd gotten her mark she took to her flying training with gusto and joined the wonderbolt academy. The young mare had shown remarkable talent in regards to her speed and endurance but seemed to have some trouble with weather manipulation. Khamsa had proven to be a hard worker and a team player, often willing to go out of her way to assist other cadets in whatever way she could while training herself to her limits and beyond. Eventually all her work wound up paying off and her skill earned her a high ranking position on the Wonderbolts. Currently she works just below Spitfire and the two have often raced against one another with Khamsa winning out the majority of times.

After she achieved her goal she realized that she wasn't really sure where to  go from here. She hadn't given much thought as to what happened after her achievements had been recognized. She'd earned a position on the wonderbolt team, had graduated the academy, was considered one of the fastest flyers in the land and somehow she couldn't help but feel she'd hit her peak. The Mare eventually figured a way that would help her deal with that in a positive way; She'd encourage other academy goers and help them train so they could one day surpass her... and then she could surpass them and then repeat the process. Although she didn't do this in the typical way of being an instructor or the like, instead she seemed more fond of pretending to be a student at the academy and befriending those new recruits, usually acting as a cheerleader of sorts for them while just going by a nickname only her fellow Wonderbolts have been calling her; Fiver.

(interactions with Spitfire approved by Rainbowpony)

Character Personality:

Khamsa is many things, she's hard working in regards to her goals and desiring to be the best while also hoping to inspire others to surpass her. Since she's proven to already a talented and incredibly fast flyer she hasn't been as openly enthusiastic as she had been in her youth. Her tone is best described as a "chilled enthusiasm", Her love of flight and tricks in the sky has not faltered but the enjoyment she felt in getting to the top has dulled greatly, something she hopes to remedy. Despite her desire to find somepony who can outclass her in her current form she often finds herself holding back or slowing down when she thinks that it would be better for a cadet or trainee to have a win under his or her belt. She often wonders how long it's been since she's actually gone all out against another flyer.

Despite her athletic prowess, Khamsa is hardly the type of officer you'd expect in a top class flying squad. She speaks calmly and rarely raises her voice, likes comic books and even terrible, cheesy humor; so much so that the even the cheesiest puns can effectively immobilize her as she tries to keep herself from laughing. She also seems strangely determined to paint an image of herself as "That lazy officer" or the "A slacker" for reasons that she keeps mostly to herself and may only be able to be understood by herself as well.

The things that Khamsa despises would be individuals who openly mock and step on those who work hard, or creatures that tend to brag about their pedigree or family line as if that itself makes for a good person. Bad sportsmareship is also an easy way to earn her anger or disapproval, but worst of all in her book is stomping on the dreams of others who aspire to better themselves for any reason.

Character Summary:

Khamsa casts an image of a lazy wonderbolt who doesn't care about her job at least at first glance, her performances in many exercises, sky races and other categories prove that she is a great flyer and a notable talent who does indeed work hard to be the best at what she does. Despite this she has a habit of slacking of putting off things until the last moment and usually somehow succeeding at least in regards to paperwork and other less "thrilling" aspects of her job.

When pushed to actually give her all in a race or in any situation she is able to make it abundantly clear why she is a wonderbolt despite her outward manner. When not being watched and out on her own ponies can find her doing an insanely intense regimen that has encouraged her incredible speed and endurance. While she is a great flyer and trick pony she is not good with weather manipulation and has to put considerably more concentration and can exhaust herself faster than she ever could while flying by trying to clear up a sky for an entire day... but oddly enough it doesn't stop her from trying to help out in such a scenario every once in a while.

Khamsa is usually an affable if somewhat sarcastic and cheesy joke making mare who seems happy to enjoy every moment in life.
