I Remember... (Private W/ PrinceoftheNight, Lyipheoryia, QueenCerali, Arcus)

Equestria is at war with the Changeling Monarchy. Canterlot was destroyed by the Queen of the Changelings herself, and the nearby cities are all in grieving for the lost capital. For some, this war is nothing but a nuance, but for most, it is a living nightmare. Many of the Equestrian soldiers go mentally ill, and are unable to fight. The odds are stacked against the ponies of Equestria, unless the soldier can find a way to weaken the Changelings and turn the tides of the war. Celestia sent a squadron of 50 able bodied stallions to go into the Changeling hive and find the weakness of the changeling army. They found what they were looking for, but they were all found and brutality murdered by changeling workers. Only one was left, and he made it to Canterlot before it was taken down. He personality witnessed the cities fall, and with it went his wife, two fillies, and newborn colt. After the collapse, the soldier went into a mental breakdown and was counted unfit for military work. Instead of sending more soldiers to die, Celestia orders that he goes through therapy untill he is healthy enough to reveal the secrets of the changeling army. A new method is being used for this. Send in random Civilians, and a ranking officer in the Royal Guard, are to listen to his story, and hopefully after he gets all of this off his chest, he can return to duty and help win the war.

The patient? His code name: Blue.

Blue.

Blue as the clear, clean skies of old. Blue as the water that flowed through Equestria's rivers, lakes, streams.

Blue...

As a name.

Huh.

Arcus never paid much attention to names anymore, being in a war. Actually, scratch that. He never paid much attention to anything anymore. Why pay attention to something you just know will be gone someday, anyway?

It hurt.

Places, times, spaces...

Ponies. Ponies he knew. Ponies he cared for. All gone, forever.

The war took them all.

Except for him. He was still here, trotting, breathing...

Alive. Alive.

That word felt good. It meant something, somepony was still there. He could reach it, feel it, see it.

They were there.

He would reach them.

"Blue... " Arcus mused, rerunning the information over, and over, and over in his mind. Fifty ponies were sent into the hive, seeking information, captives, anything.

Fifty.

Fifty entered, all ready, all willing, and all knowing what they were facing.

One.

One left, battered, bruised, and with a life almost as broken as his body.

And Arcus was meeting him.

"Alive...."

Qaline had never really cared much about the war beyond business concerns, although even in that regard she didn't care very much.

because of the war, contracts against leaders in equestria had disappeared. but contracts against the changelings were numerous, and they paid well.

but this soldier..... he might have the information she needed in case she was ever contracted for the biggest job of her life: effectively taking down the entire changeling army in one fell swoop.

she had never really liked dealing with veterans. they didn't like her much either, due to her rather casual attitude towards killing. but this one she had to talk to.

(I guess you and I can go back and forth until the others get to their posts...)

The information was given to some randomly selected citizens, all of which have been proven not to be a changeling, and an Officer of the Royal Guard named Arcus. They have been sent to the Crystal Empire, where Blue is being kept under the best care anypony alive could ever receive. Security is extremely tight, so in the letters, there were secret codes that only those who received the letter can see. 'By my honor as a citizen of Equestria, I give you this code. Farewell, blue sky.' Those who receive the letter are to make haste to the Crystal Empire.

(yep)

Qaline took the note back out and read it again. "it's time to go" she murmured, trotting towards the train station. she wasn't used to being a legal passenger, and decided she wouldn't be this time either, slipping into a cargo car.

((Beware long post-I felt inspired.))

Crystalline Candles Fyre Amore

Who am I to be today?  Candles gave herself a smile, before the familiar orange flames wrapped around her body.  The warmth spread across her body, and her past mirage faded with the flickering fire.  It was something she was quite used to-pretending to be some other pony.  She had long lost the taste of home and self-worth she felt in her own, naked coat-or, more specifically-chitin.  With temporary, simple disguises, it was easy to return to her true self and original personality.  Sometimes, with the more extended-time period ones, she had trouble differing disguise from the original copy.  Controversy flooded her mind almost everyday, and her disguises fit even better than her own chitin.  She was used to it-hiding behind a screen and acting in a life that wasn't her own.  In a life that wasn't anypony's.  She closed her eyes and sighed.  That was the way it was, and that was the way it would be-to be a Changeling living in a big city of disguises and fake personas.

---

Duchess Le Chandelier

The beautiful, fashion-forward mare stepped up onto the limelight.  The stranded streets of Manehattan were still dark from the night, but the Duchess liked to wake up before the sunrise.  The Duchess was a world-class, infamous fashion designer.  Her works were known all over Equestria, and she was a beloved fashion icon of the age.  She trotted in her usual, cool manner down to the local post office.  The towering skyscraper of her design corporation and her penthouse suite hung over the cityscape, and the orderly post office seemed minuscule in comparison.  She could have very well sent somepony to fetch the mail for her, or to demand mail to be sent personally to her tower-but she preferred to breathe in the soft air and the bright morning sun.  It was a time where she could go about without needing to face snobbish, rich ponies and demanding customers.  It was a time where she could be herself.

Not the as the Duchess...as Candles.

The trip to and from the post office had been friendly, with the usual folks hanging around that some teenagers loitering on the steps of the building.  Nothing was out of the ordinary.  Her mind wandered to the new dress she had been commissioned, a floral pattern had been specified.  There was another dress she had wanted to make for her fellow fashion guru, a wedding wear that would trance the crowds.  Not that she needed it, but it seemed like a nice gesture to reaffirm their friendship.  What else was on her mind?  The note.  She closed her eyes, No!  Don't think about it.  She knew.  All of it.  And she didn't like it.

Crystalline Candles Fyre Amore (Crystal Pony)

The train ride was smooth, but it was the only thing going smoothly in her mind.  Crystalline Fyre-Amore, Political Consultant to Marquis Fyre-Amore, sat deep in thought.  She had never been summoned to the Crystal Empire before, and for reasons she knew clearly.  Few ponies knew the truth, but select royals did.  The ones that had power.  Her cousin, the Marquis Fyre-Amore would never summon her, knowing about her...unusual Changeling case.  The Princess and her Prince would never, either.  She was just another cliche, nopony adviser-whatever.  The Crystal Empire held little to no good memories for her.  She went about her job as a consultant purely because it was her family name to bear and her job to place.  She had already refused the Marquess title and passed it to her cousin-how much more could she disgrace the Fyre-Amores?  By not doing her job, that's what.  It was the only family she ever had.  The only family she had left.  And she was determined not to fall under expectations.  They were descended from Princess Amore, after all.  There was another reason why she was upset.  She hadn't returned to the Empire for any reason other than her job, and had been strictly on business every single time.  Especially after the Changeling attacks on Canterlot, she had only returned once.  She had exchanged letters with the Marquis and performed her duties as such.  She was a Changeling.  But she was Crystalline Fyre-Amore, too.  And now, that was all she could be for the next little while, it seemed.

(Sorry if it took me a while, had been busy)

Golden got a strange letter that morning after she woke up. Apparently she was being invited to... somewhere... to see somepony. She remembered signing up to something not so long ago, but wondered what it was. Aparently it was this. She sighed and got her stuff ready to leave almst immediately, getting all what she might need and more when she goes to... the Crystal empire! She was amazed. She smiled, and once ready went to the train station

(nice job, Lyi!)

Qaline frowned as the train stopped and she heard the hoofsteps of the ponies who inspected the cargo. she always found them annoying.

the ponies opened the doors to the car, and sunlight flooded in. one of them climbed into the cart while the other began checking each item his companion called out. Qaline clubbed the first, knocking her out, and then slipped by the other while he was busy looking at his list.

she trotted through the streets of the city. she had no time to look at the beauty of the empire, she never did. she quickly made her way to where Blue was being kept.

And the institution where Blue was being held was very notable. Hundreds of guards were swarming around one hospital, all of them were ready to take out and suspicious ponies. One unfortunately oblivious stallion tryed to enter the gate without permission. Long story short, he was going to be In another hospital for quite some time. One guard sat at a table in the front entrance to the hospital. He was expecting some special visitors for the only patient in the hospital. If they didn't have the code, they would not be allowed in at all.

She stared at the hospital.  She remembered almost nothing from her train ride, merely holding her breath in sad inquisition of the truth behind this surprise visit.  The hospital she went to was one of the more famous ones, and guards went around and around.  An idiotic stallion tried to get in, clearly with no permission and was escorted away.  One of the guards was directly in front of the entrance, and she wasn't quite sure what to do.  Give the code, perhaps?  Something triggered inside of her: What if the guard thought the code was just a prank and didn't let her in.  She decided to use something else that would let her in, something stronger, something in which he was bound to follow because of his allegiance.

---

She faced the guard, and pointed to her headress.  She took out an identification badge:

Crystalline Fyre-Amore

Political Consultant to Marquis Fyre-Amore

She readied a quill and scroll in her hoof lest he need more proof of her authority in the area.

The guard at the desk noticed a mare walking up to the hospital. He sat up straight and readied his quill with his unicorn magic. He opened his mouth to ask a question, but stopped when she pointed to her identification card. He smiled and gave her a quick nod. "Good evening, Ma'am! I'm assuming Marquis couldn't be with us today? That's all fine! As long as you can give us the code, you may take her place." His smile widened as another mare approached his desk, he opened his mouth to greet her, but then he was interrupted by the mare flashing a card in his face. He didn't even get to read it. "Ugh... Ma'am, if you could please just state your name and give us the code, we'll let you in. Flashing a card in my face wont get you anywhere."

She blinked at the guard.  Strange...ponies here rarely spoke anything to her.  They know of her disability, so this is strange indeed.  She took out another piece of identification, a formal passport-like object.  Denying her right to enter while she presented the card was denying her rights as a Crystal Empire citizen.

(What he's looking for here is for your character to say this code 'By my honor as a citizen of Equestria, I give you this code. Farewell, blue sky.' If your character cannot speak, have them write it in front of a guard or something... Just thought I would mention this...)

(oh! I think I missed that part.... )

Qaline sighed and took a deep breath. this had her on edge, or else she'd have responded properly the first time. "By my honor as a citizen of Equestria, I give you this code. Farewell, blue sky" she said.

Lyi stared at the guard...before sighing, she wrote, "By my honour as a citizen of Equestria, I give you this code,"  She paused, and turned towards the blue sky and gave a little wave goodbye.

The guard smiles once again. These two have proven that they are not changeling spy's! He starts writing out their information on separate sheets of paper. Once done, he levitated the papers in the air. "Thank you both! Take these papers inside to the main desk. The mare there will get these processed into identity cards. Another guard will show you your living quarters, and... Your patient. For the Princess!" The guard saluted the two and gave them their papers. He relaxed again, waiting for the others to make the trip.

  • 2 weeks later...

She gave a nod, and went into the building with the other mare.  She approached the main desk, and lined up behind her, "You here with a mysterious letter as well?"  She wrote onto a notepad and passed it to the mare.

She wrote, "It seems we were both sent here on a similar purpose.  I am Crystalline Fyre-Amore, Royalty in blood, and Political Consultant to Marquis Fyre-Amore.  I recieved a letter to come here about a day ago, and I have made haste,"
