Occupation: Weather pony for hire. 

Cutie Mark: A Tornado. Fringe was gifted with a leaner body than most pegasi. This enabled him to fly a bit faster and turn tighter. This lead to him discovering his talent at a young age for the creation and control of rampant weather events like tornadoes. It was during a routine rain creation that a couple of other pegasi in training were goofing off. One got the brilliant idea to create a small tornado. Littler more than a typical dust devil to begin with. The situation soon devolved into chaos as the pony could not yet control such things. Fringe was one of the few that volunteered to counter this threat. When all but a few others turned away, he flew head long into the winds and managed to stay with the twister. Managing to turn it aside from any ponies and structures with the help of a few adult ponies, they kept it contained until it petered out in some empty woodlands. He gained his cutie mark and realized his calling that day. To combat out of control weather. However, due to the fact that most weather is relatively controlled, he is restless. Always traveling from place to place, providing the usual pegasi services until need of his unique talents arise. 

Unique Traits: Fringe is a light weight pegasus. His lean body tone prevents him from managing heavy loads, However he can, flight further, faster and harder than the standard pegasus. High energy, but a laid back attitude until called upon. 

 

History: Fringe is an only child. Having wandered so much, he barely known what the word home means anymore. He is comfortable sleeping on any patch of cloud he can find, and doesn't mind the weather, even in the cold of winter. His natural love of the out doors began at a very young age. In his flight school training he excelled. As he grew older, he took odd jobs with the weather teams. Usually just clean up duty. Things that most of the seasoned ponies would rather not deal with. moving extra clouds away from the flight paths and the like. When he gained his cutie mark, Fringe set out to help all ponies form rampant weather. However he soon realized that he was not going to be of much good just staying in one place. Weather was everywhere. And so he packed a small bag and took to the air. He flew where ever the air currents would take him. His travels took him from his birthplace in Las Pegasus, to Canterlot and beyond. He has come to realize that his talent for controlling what is normally dangerous weather is usually not needed as most weather teams are well trained and skilled enough to handle such things. Fringe began traveling more when he realized that he was just one pegasus among many that could handle weather. Though cheerful and happy to lend a hoof to any weather team that needs an extra, he is a bit sad inside that there is little need of his personal talent. He had, at one time considered joining the Wonderbolts. But his lack of any actual training and discipline made him think he was unfit. He had pondered the existence of a group that would need his talent, but had not heard of one in his long travels. 

 

Character Personality: Outwardly happy and cheerful. Wiling and able to help any pony he can, and works for coin when he needs too. Inwardly, sad and lonely. few friends and little need of his talent have left him feeling unfulfilled. While Fringe Trotter Enjoys taking things easy sometimes, he finds it hard to really connect with the world. In much of his down time between jobs, he busies his mind with a focus on nature. He enjoys slow flights under the tree canopies and over open fields of grassland. Taking in the scenery and enjoying the peace of it all. The peace he desires to protect. He is high energy, but able to control that and enjoy the simpler things. While on the ground, he likes to tour towns and see the sights they have. Talking to ponies and finding out about the culture of the places he visits. 
 

Character Summary: Traveling pony, weather worker for hire. Fringe is an outwardly happy pony that is always wiling to lend a hoof. Helping to control rampant weather events when the need arises, but willing to settle for moving clouds around when asked too. A light weight pegasus that can and will fly fast and hard. Well accustomed to the changes of culture in each area, he adapts easily and tries to understand the local dialect. Often travels alone. Well traveled and always looking for fun in town, he is up for any adventure in the culture of the area. Be that the lands of the Mustangs, or the quiet art gallerias of Canterlot.

Alright, let's take a look!

I like the idea of a weather specialist, but I can't help but think that there would be a national emergency team that he could join.  Or, if there isn't one, perhaps a good RP story for this character would be founding one?

In any case, he looks good.  As long as the twister he controlled as a foal wasn't too big, I feel confident in passing this up.

This app has a good foundation for a character, I would just like to see a little more depth. A little more detail to his character beyond his being a weather specialist. What else does he like to do? Maybe some dream beyond being a weather specialist or another track for his life aside from this occupation?

I'm just not seeing how this character would be a good connect in the RP setting beyond the weather stuff.

This is a good app, perhaps add another angle to him though? Something to make him more than one sided. Your personality section has room for development. Perhaps start there?
