Species: Unicorn

Pelt Color: White

Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Black except for one line of white hair that trails from her mane to the tip of her tail.

Personality: Estrella likes to think of herself as a fun pony to be around. She can hold a conversation pretty well, unless she happens to be thinking of a new story to tell. She loves to joke around; usually she tries to have ponies that talk with her ending up with a smile. She does have a “mask” that she hides behind, preferring to keep emotions like sadness and anger hidden away; having friends and family worry isn’t fun. The outlet for these negative feelings can be seen in her story telling; quite a few times audiences would see the mare with tears in her eyes while she was acting. If there’s something upsetting her then she’ll insist that it’s nothing unless really prodded to spill the beans.

Character Summary: Estrella's father (Lio, Scrawl) was an author with a open book as a cutie mark while her mother (Sylvia Write) was a poet, her cutie mark a scroll with a quill levitating over it, both Unicorns had an insatiable urge to see the world and ended up together on one of their many adventures. As they traveled their wares sometimes sold to inquisitive ponies, other times they found themselves working different professions to earn their bits. But the wanderlust never left them, until they arrived in Manehattan.

It was a clear star filled night when Estrella was born; a white unicorn with a tuft of black and white hair on her head and tail, her parents, both well-traveled ponies, decided that it would be a fitting name for their little star. Their life in Manehattan was wonderful and having a foal would be just as good if not better! Or so they thought.

Estrella was a quiet little filly, never talking much in school or playing with the other foals. Her grades were good; she responded when spoken to, she wasn’t sick, just quiet. At first her parents weren’t worried, quietness usually disappeared with time.

It wasn’t until a few years later, when Estrella came home with a large book levitating behind her and a giant grin on her face that she began to actively talk.

She loved to read various stories, mostly fantasy; her eyes would light up whenever she found a new tale to add to her repertoire. Her excitement for books soon began to show in her schooling. Grades took a small drop, but she did make friends and her parents were happy for their child. As Estrella grew up they also noticed that along with reading stories, she loved to tell them as well. Many of their nights were spent listening to the mare’s tales, their daughter had quite the imagination. Needless to say with these talents, their child still hadn’t gotten a cutie mark, the lack of it never once bothering Estrella.

But it did bother her; she loved her family and friends and didn’t want to show them how much it got to her though. The name calling, pointed stares, sometimes even bullying, all of it was buried and forgotten. But things hidden away like that don’t stay hidden for long.

One faithful night her school hosted a talent show, and boy did a lot of aspiring colts and fillies sign up. Even Estrella herself signed up, well her friends signed her up without her knowing. The shows were amazing! Ponies were singing, dancing, doing various displays of tricks, there was one unicorn whose magic show stood out the most and cheers rocked the stadium that day. When Estrella’s name was called her heart nearly stopped, after a show like the last what could she do to top that?

She took the stage with butterflies in her belly, staring over the crowd of expectant faces; there was a small bit of support, some indifference, and downright laughing faces from some of the bullies. She didn’t know where the sudden burst of courage came from but she’d show them! The name calling, hurtful stares, bullying, all of it would stop! Her horn glowed brightly that night as she took a deep breath, words flowing endlessly from her mouth as she told her tale, the audience hushed and hanging onto her every word. Sometimes she acted out roles of her made up characters, other times she used magic to convey the scenery (as best as she could) when words failed. At the end of her tale she gave a small bow to her audience and was surprised by the applause she received back, even enemies from before were grudgingly clapping. There was a slight tingle on her flank and she looked down and smiled wide, her cutie mark had finally appeared.

Needless to say she took up theater, honing her story telling talents so she could be great. Once she was old enough to take care of herself she had to say farewell to her parents, the couple stating that the hustle and bustle of Manehattan was starting to get to them. They decided to move to Appleolossa, Estrella staying in Manehattan to pursue her theatrical carrier. Although she was talented there were still other performers that got the spotlight, entertaining the masses was no easy feat. Still she gets by doing various odd jobs, quite a few of them in Manehattan after all.
