Can someone explain how the whole relations thing works.

Here's some examples.

Exhibit A: Can I be your RP daughter?

Exhibit B: Come here, brother.

​Exhibit C: Hi, Mom.

Basically what I'm asking is how does one roleplayer be related to another fellow roleplayer?

Normally in this RP, to be related to another character, you put that relationship into your character application. Then, the person that owns the character you want to be related to makes a post under your application approving the relationship.

Keep in mind that under normal circumstances you are not supposed to make a relationship with any of the cast ponies, but creating relationships with other original characters is fine.

Also, our board has a large OC pony family called the Nut family, who own nut farms across Equestria. For info on the Nut family, refer to this post:

It's allowed between OC characters, whether yours or someone else's, but you both have to agree. And, as mentioned, no relationship to Cast Characters unless we've seen them in show. (Like the parent ponies. You can play them, but they're Cast characters and not OCs.)
