Okiedokie, this is my first pony character so I hope you like her!

EDIT 1: Well, she's pretty much done so WIP doesn't quite seem like the right tag. Hope I'm not wrong.

EDIT 2: Okay my brain is made of fail today, that teaches me to stay up til the early hours all the time. Changed Tag because I'm tihnking I could streamline the character summary. It's far too long.

EDIT 3: Okie, streamlined and ready for proper perusal!

Roleplay Type: Mane RP

Name: Starscape Quill

Sex: Female

Age: Mare

Species: Pegasus

Eye Color: Green

Coat Color: Indigo

Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Her mane and tail are coloured a deep teal colour – her mane is longish and a little unkempt much of the time – she does not pay too much attention to it besides basic maintenance like brushing it once a day (well, night since she has a tendency to be nocturnal).

Physique:Starscape is a tall, long legged Pegasus, but perhaps a bit thin and quite gangling. She’s awkward in her stature and not the most coordinated of ponies, especially on the ground. In the air, she’s better, but still not great.

Cutie Mark: Starscape’s Cutie Mark is a stylised constellation as you would find in map of the night sky, in the shape of a quill. A stylised quill is overlaid to show what the constellation is of.

Origin/Residence: Starscape originally comes from near to Trottingham, where she grew up. Currently, however, she resides in a home she has between Trottingham and Cloudsdale, out of the way so she can see the stars better, with attached observatory.

Occupation: Stargazer/Observatory pony and cartographer of star charts/ the occasional map. The observatory was set up by her and two other ponies when she was not long out of school and funded mostly by her parents (she has since insisted on paying them back). She takes tours along with the ponies she works with, sells maps, star charts and drawings/paintings of the night sky, and she occasionally is asked to teach fillies and colts about the stars and sky.

Motivation: What makes Starscape get up in the morning or afternoon (depending on whether she is on duty showing people around the observatory or actually working on stellar cartography) is that she can see the stars, and through the maps she draws, hopefully show other ponies that the night is just as beautiful as the day. She loves to share her ideas and theories, and her maps of course, not to mention her drawings of the night sky.

Likes: (optional)

Starscape loves the night sky; that much is probably already obvious. However, she also loves the moon, cake, sweets, talking about the stars, looking at the stars, watching out for comets, drawing and map-making. She also loves legends and myths about the stars, as well as sleeping in.

Dislikes: (optional)

Bright daytime light, lots of noise when she is map-making, getting up early, broken telescopes.

Character Summary:

Starscape Quill was born to her well-off parents in Trottingham. Her father is a Cartographer (map-maker) and her mother is a socialite in the upper echelons of the pony society there, as well as the owner of a small salon specialising in Pegasi.

Starscape loves the night sky and the stars, and always has. Even when she was a filly, she’d look out of the windows at night when her parents were in bed and wonder what was out there. As she grew older she started sending wishes up and hoping that whatever watched over the night while Celestia slept would hear her love for the stars, and began drawing and painting the night sky.

As she grew older, it took a while for her Cutie Mark to appear, and the longer it took the more concerned she got, and the more concerned her parents got. She loved drawing and making maps, just like her father, but it wasn’t until one night at her grandparents’ house that she spent charting the positions of different stars and writing them down that it appeared. That night she had fallen asleep in her chair on the decking outside next to her telescope and charts, and awoke to the surprised exclamation of her grandparents at the quill-shaped-constellation Cutie Mark now adorning her flank.

It was then she knew what she had to do. After she was done with schooling, with her father’s blessing and her mother’s grudging acceptance, Starscape wanted to move further out of the city and was surprised when her parents gave her money to set up a small observatory in a small town. She, along with a few friends she had met whilst selling the occasional map, set up an observatory with some decently sized telescopes with which to track stars and other night sky objects.

Starscape’s personality is quite quirky – she has a tendency to be easily sidetracked unless working and often appears to be thinking on about six tracks at once, switching topics mid conversation and then returning to them later on. This is because her mind often races ahead and she’s not really used to interacting a lot with other ponies. To other ponies this might seem like nervous shyness, but Starscape is not shy at all – she simply doesn’t socialise often and tries to fit all the words she’s trying to say into the time she has.

Starscape; being somewhat nocturnal dislikes direct sunlight – it hurts her eyes a little and she often has to wear sunglasses or something to cover her eyes in daytime, though generally only on particularly bright days.
