SilverThorn
The small caravan moved back towards Ponyville as the ponies all chatted. They were very excited to be moving to a new settlement, and wondered what it would be like. After reaching the town, heading to Daisy's farm to say their goodbyes, and turning around to point north, they started out for Canterlot. The winter air nipped playfully at them, but it wasn't terribly cold. FlimFlam
As the five (minus the payed help) walked, a thought struck Riddle. He hadn't seen the inside pf Cantorlot in years. He assumed it would be the same the same, but he really didn't know."Hey Mythos, hows Cantorlot been lately? Is it still that same bastion of fancy, or has it all gone shmancy?" EquestrianScholar
"Not much has changed actually," Mythos says with a smile and a shrugs before detailing what was the same dramatically."Most of those in Canterlot are still obsessed with who is the best dressed, who listens to the most refined music, and who has gathers with the important ponies," As Mythos says all this he takes from his saddlebag a nice suit, then his violin, and finally takes out a picture of Fancy Pants before finishing, "yet there was one incident of note that stood out. A mare by the name of Miss Rarity came to Canterlot and cause as most wonderful stir... becoming the talk of all of Canterlot. Sadly I was unable to meet this mare, one that cause such a commotion in the city of elites."
FlimFlam
"Someone came to Cantorlot and caused a commotion? Well that's certainly a nice change from being caught up in itself. I can certainly understand the dissapointment..."That certainly seemed like something worth noting, if anything was. He privately wondered if that had any lasting effects before this rarity of a pony left (pun intended). He assumed she left anyways, given that if she hadn't Mythos would still have the chance to speak to her. Anywho, he carried on"Now, if the system works the way it should, it's your turn. A riddle for a riddle, an eye for an eye, although a question will have to do, if you'll give it a try."
EquestrianScholar
"Such an thing would be dandy and i have just the riddle handy," Mythos says with a bit of rhyme before giving his riddle, "In the dark night flies a starry phantom. She soars and spreads her wingsabove the gloomy pony crowd. The whole world calls to her,the whole world implores her.At dawn the phantom vanishesto be reborn in every heart. And every night it is born anewand every day it dies! What am I?" FlimFlam
Riddle smiled. That rhyme certainly rolled off the tongue. Not even half bad in the versing. Pausing a moment he thought about it. "Why, its the moon, of course! ... although, I could see how it could be a phoenix. Still going with moon, mind you!"He chuckled. That was quite the handy riddle, and indeed it was dandy. He was confident with his answer, though. "Hey Shimmer, you wouldn't happen to know a riddle or two, would you? The more the merrier, or something or other." EquestrianScholar
Mythos laughs at that, finding his answer amusing before saying, "no, no that isn't the answer. The answer is either hope or dreams, perhaps even both if your so inclined."Smiling he did add this, "Though... the moon wasn't so far off as the answer could also be our Princess of the Night. The reason for this being is when we sleep she sees our dreams, and when we wish upon a star she hears our hopes."
SilverThorn
"Oh.. no not really..." The mare replied as she walked along the cobblestone road out of town.
