Roleplay Type: Equestria mane rp

Name: North Star

Sex: Male

Age: Stag

Species: Peryton

Eye Color: A lush evergreen color

Coat Color: His coat is a rather short furred brown, which in turn is a cross between tree bark brown and sandy brown

Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: His mane is about medium sized, and it always seems to be a bit messy while is tail is, you know, deer-like. Both are a darker brown than his fur, in fact they almost match perfectly with the trees' wood. His antlers are, like his mane, about a good medium length and look quite elegant. However, his wings are something of an anomaly. Unlike the usual Peryton, his wings are actually slightly bigger than the wings a Pegasus would have.

Physique: Like most Peryton, Star is somewhat smaller than your average pony, but despite this, even at first glance one could tell he's quite agile. His smaller build tends to make him nimbler which is quite helpful really, given his choice of living quarters.

Cutie Mark: n/a

Origin/Residence: Everfree forest, although on more adventurous days he wanders outside of the forest

Occupation: I guess you could say he's kind of a guide

Motivation: First and foremost, Star is a rather carefree stag. Although he may seem rather aloof, he really does care about other ponies. Whenever he can, he tries to help out others, especially when a pony gets lost in the everfree. Yep, he guides lost ponies, or helps out ponies who want to explore the trees.

Likes: (optional) Helping out ponies, exploring, forests, animals, playing various games, and his pet fox (Volpe)

Dislikes: (optional) Being helpless, watching other ponies suffer, getting lost or sidetracked, and being shunned

Character Summary: Perhaps being born and raised in the Everfree was the best thing that could have happened to North Star. Raised by his parents, Monsoon and Evergreen, Star quickly learned what every Peryton does best. That is to say, learning how to hide from danger. And boy was there a lot of it. Even as a fawn, he was tagging along with his parents to avoid running into cockatrices and manticores. Luckily, his parents were smart enough to make it all seem like a game, which is perhaps where he got his relaxed attitude towards danger. Anyways, slowly as he grew up, he transitioned from living with his folks to living on his own in the Everfree. Of course this can be quite lonely, and Star began craving social interaction to the point of talking with trees. One day, however, he came across a rather small problem. That is to say, a young fox that was being tormented by a cockatrice. Figuring as long as he wasn't seen he couldn't be turned to stone, he began throwing small twigs at the bird until it left. Not a moment too soon either, as it had almost petrified the poor little fox. Feeling sorry for it, Star took him in and named the kit Volpe, and the two quickly became fast friends.

Months later, Star came upon another situation. Although not quite as serious, a filly had somehow wandered a good ways into the forest and was seemingly lost. Taking charge of the situation, he managed to calm down the young girl by making a game out of leading her home. As he led her to the forest edge, he felt quite satisfied with himself. Putting two and two together, he decided that helping ponies was something he wanted to continue to do. In order to do so, he moved to a section of the Everfree that was relatively close to Ponyville, and he began secretly helping out ponies. Eventually, he became something of a good omen throughout the town as he helped others. Until that became his downfall, anyways. Eventually, he prioritized and specifically rescued ponies who were in danger. Eventually he was caught doing this, and the residents of Ponyville began rumors that he had caused the bad events, and they chased him into the Everfree.

Although he still travels out of the Everfree from time to time, he almost seems like a different stag. In the forest, he can be quite brave and at the same time carefree, but outside of the forest he rarely ever stops hiding.
