FIM on non-brony web sites!

Like a good fan of the show, I keep an eye out for news on sites like "DerpyHoovesNews.com" and "equestriadaily.com". It's nice to see some POSITIVE pony news on other sites. There's a Sherilyn Connelly on SFWeekly who writes some entertaining show recaps on her site via http://blogs.sfweekl...my_little_pony/ If you've got the time, check her reviews out and give her some words of kindness and feedback.

Also, if anyone else has any news sites with pony in 'em post them here.

Here's another fun article via Topless Robot (Nerd site..It's not what you think!) :-|

The Onion's "Av Club" did a really positive review on FIM not that long ago. And <ahem> if enough peeps request it, they'll start doing an episode recap like they do with other popular TV shows. <3

Sorry for the double post, but I caught this review on FIM from another non-pony site. It's a little on the old side. This was done by one of my favorite writers/bloggers/podcaster, James Lileks. He's generally considered one of the first real bloggers. Here's his review.

"My Little Pony.

Really. She has been preparing the ground for this for a while, first getting red-faced that she watches it, then assuring me it’s different, then researching the director, then making fan art, all the while telling me it’s not like the Ponys of old. And she’s right. Any dad who had daughters in the Oughts went through the Pony Period, with the cheap saccharine videos, the blister-pack plastic toys with A) combs, and B) thick pink synthetic pony-hair that could not be combed, and C) the whole pink-and-purple happy-clappy world of ponies living in a cloud-land of sweets and love and friendship and sharing. Well. The wife of the Powerpuff Girls, Lauren Faust – a co-creator of PPG, if I read things correctly – updated the My Little Pony story. Sorry: rebooted it. It’s PPG in horse-form, almost. the delightful part, of course, is understanding why my daughter likes it. Partly because it’s pretty good, really. It’s not stupid-sweet cheap pastel drivel. It’s brisk and clever, and instead of concentrating on perfect happy idiot horses it centers on a bookish, socially-awkward character who regards the other free-spirited characters with reserve and alarm. And now, the sentence I never thought I would write: Rainbow Dash is rewritten as a braggart and a tomboy, the Buttercup of the herd. There. I said it. I HAVE A DAUGHTER, OKAY?

And I love the fact that she wants me to watch this and hopes I get it. I do. Never thought we would bond over My Little Ponys."

It's also nice to see some of the replys. "I’ve seen the new ‘My Little Pony’ James and I too like it. Yes, I, a grown man, thinks ‘My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic’ is good. And for the same reasons you mentioned.

Any guy can say he likes beer, football, wrestling and violent action films. But it takes a MAN to admit he likes watching ‘My Little Pony’."

That's actually really funny when you think about it. The library is rather disorganized when something needs to be found.
