Anathema

RP Type: Crossover

Name: Subject calls herself Anathema. REIN operating codename has been “Eris,” the ancient diety of Strife.

Sex: Female.

Species: Changeling

Age: Unknown, possibly on the order of the alicorns.

Body Color: Lust red (#E62020)

Mane/Tail: Mane and tail are bleached white, wild and unkempt in their natural form.

Eye Color: Violet

Distinguishing Marks: The joints in her exoskeleton glow a faint violet when she is in her natural form. Does not possess hole-marks in her legs and wings.

Physique: Slender and tall in her natural form. Subject is a shapeshifter and thus does not have concrete morphology. Subject can assume the appearance of any equinoid or griffinoid with utilization of the proper spell. Thus far no methods have been developed to easily distinguish between a shapeshifting spell and the true individual’s biology. Experiments are being conducted with the use of arcanometric sensors utilizing telemetry gathered from the prior attack on Canterlot.

Occupation: Mercenary and actress, specializing in intelligence operations and investigation. Subject does not have a home base or known home faction. Inquiries have turned up hits throughout Equestria and Aquellia. REIN intel suggests that most who deal with the subject on a regular basis are unaware of her true nature.

Motivation: Be the best at her trade. See the world, experience its pleasures, and perhaps even find a place for herself.

Likes: the finer things in life, wine, aged spirits, high-class cuisine, personal indulgence, being in control, “performing”

Dislikes: roughing it, being outsmarted or played, not being at the top of her game, being tied down by obligations, being thwarted by happenstance

Subject History

Subject’s true origins are shrouded in mystery. REIN and RESF assets have yet to locate origin of Changeling threat, though isolated hives appear throughout Equestria. Such hives rarely present a threat to the general population, sustaining themselves by feeding on local wildlife.

Subject is not a member of any nearby known hive. Though her physiology and morphology identifies her as a fertile Changeling queen, subject operates solo most of time. Little biometric data is available to link her to any hives known to REIN or CENTCOM. All available intel suggests that she is rogue.

UPDATE: More recent intelligence suggests that her home hive is far outside current Equestrian- or Griffon-controlled territory. Scattered reports from Stallian ISU teams that have frequented the area point to a conflict sometime in the recent past between two Changeling queens. KOG records note an increase of Changeling activity in the area that suddenly dropped off after increasing escalation. It was assumed that one of the queens had been terminated. Cross-referencing KOG data with Eris’ file seems to suggest otherwise.

All available REIN assets are to keep careful watch for subject to resurface. Subject has multiple identities and can shift between them at will. REIN officers must remain vigilant if they wish to catch her in the act. List of possible identities is available upon request. Be advised, such identities may already have been discarded if she has discovered that they have been compromised. Consult REIN intelligence officers prior to deployments for most up to date information.

Subject has been the focal point of several high-profile heists in Canterlot, Stalliongrad, and Talonopolis. Subject’s track record includes grand larceny, accessory to airship hijacking, high-level intelligence leaks, and industrial sabotage. Each case file makes reference to a high-class lady who would worm her way into the upper echelons of the administrative structure about to be hit several weeks before the heist itself took place.

Subject is of particular interest to both REIN and CENTCOM/RESFCOM. A lone changeling has yet to be observed in the wild. Capture of subject alive could yield large amounts of valuable data on changeling biology, morphology, and psychology to combat them in future conflicts. Capture for her criminal record is merely a bonus.

Subject Psychological Analysis

Key pattern in subject interactions is an emphasis on self. Subject is highly focused on self-preservation, treating other persons as accessories to complete her task. Despite her willingness to sacrifice others before herself, subject retains a sense of tact and will avoid unnecessary confrontation and situations where burning assets would be necessary. That said, subject displays extremely vindictive tendencies and will often come back to haunt those who have wronged her in the past.

Subject has consistently eluded REIN, Honor Guard, and Stallian ISU attempts to apprehend. Aquellian Marine MPs have had similar luck. Subject is intimately familiar with day to day REA operations in Canterlot, possibly due to an identity in mid-tier REA bureaucracy or REIN administration. REIN is currently attempting to identify and eliminate this back door.

Subject demonstrates obsessive compulsive tendencies. Attention to detail is a defining feature of her operations, which are usually meticulously planned ahead of time. Mannerisms between known aliases seem to sync up with key psychological markers. Subject could be described as a master method actor. Further investigation of macro patterns of action is currently being conducted by REIN.

Despite her separation from her professional skill, subject is incorrigibly pleasure-seeking. Her identities can often be found at bars and clubs and her paper trail often involves copious amounts of alcohol, fine dining, and fancy living. Subject prefers big cities with plenty of places to hide and many ponies to blend in with.

Subject is extraordinarily elusive, only appearing for short missions before assuming yet another identity or disappearing off the grid altogether. Subject is extremely skilled in investigation and social engineering. Novice agents should report contacts with subject to REIN leadership immediately. DO NOT ENGAGE THE SUBJECT IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. Subject Eris is extremely dangerous and should be treated as such.

Breaks from her patterns of action are rare, but subject has been sighted alone at night in her natural form. Such sightings are elusive and fleeting, but seem to coincide with completed missions. REIN analysts suggest that the subject is displaying emotions such as regret or loneliness. Analysts also note that Eris could potentially be vulnerable to the psychological stress of maintaining and spending so much time in multiple in-depth identities. PSYOPs personnel suggest that exploiting this vulnerability could compromise her by forcing an identity crisis of sorts. RESF combat tacticians are less inclined to believe this assessment. Investigation is ongoing.

Subject does not display especially strong magical abilities. It is immediately clear that she is not built for combat. Based on prior telemetry, Subject Eris is approximately a Beta on the UMAT scale. However, her penchant for subtlety and deception makes her just as dangerous, if not more so than Chrysalis, whose aetheric telemetry ranks higher on the UMAT scale in raw magical potential. REIN analysts suspect that her much lower power threshold is the result of her inability to absorb the life force of those who love the pony she replaces, as Chrysalis was able to do with her previous target Shining Armor. Subject Eris appears to rely on her own innate magic rather than stealing it from other ponies.

Skill Set

Actress. Subject Eris can create unique body features to create an identity for herself. After she settles on a face and body, she develops a set of mannerisms and a voice and eventually a network of contacts. Her acting talents also extend to social engineering and grifting, using a combination of charm and misdirection to get the information she needs. Finally, her ability to impersonate is top notch, though she prefers to create original identities.

Multiple identities. Because of her prior work, Subject Eris has a network of established identities, each rolling in different circles and each allowing her access to specific resources. The majority of these organizations and individuals are unaware of her true nature, something she cultivates and exploits.

Investigation. Because of her focus on creating and maintaining identities, Subject Eris is also skilled at investigation, digging up dirt on just about anypony she studies and using that information to improve the authenticity of her multiple personas. Naturally, this also aids her in her job of infiltrating and obtaining hard to get information.

Martial artist. Having been in a few jams herself, she is an accomplished martial artist, though most of her skills revolve around the physical conditioning and escape artist aspects rather than outright combat.

Linguist. Because of her activity in multiple operating theaters and among many different races, as well as her apparent age, subject is adept at acquiring the nuances of her chosen language and culture. She is known to be fluent in Stallian and has a passable command of Germanean and standard Unyasan.

Spellbook

Polymorph. Standard Changeling ability to shape change into a target identity. Polymorph does not appear to be an actively maintained spell, allowing it to be cast indefinitely and making identification by scrying difficult. REIN is investigating passive arcanometric sensing as an alternative to scrying spells.

Barrier. Standard shield spell to soften incoming blows, projectiles, and energy attacks.

Regeneration. Changelings slowly regenerate themselves over time if physically injured.

Standing Orders

Subject Eris is a High Value Target. If possible, subject must be captured alive and delivered to REIN handlers for further study. However, subject is extremely dangerous and should not be approached unless one is in the company of a REA Guard squad or REIN specialists. Report any contacts to REIN administration immediately.

ಠ_ಠ Knew I forgot something...

First edit attempt broke the markup without changing the title. Second update fixed the markup while forgetting to update the title. Third time's the charm.
