  1. The hard numbers are appreciated, though that wasn't quite what I was going for. Though I think he's much more reasonable, I'm not really certain on this character just yet, though I'm not sure if I can make any more suggestions at this point. But perhaps you could ask Ashi how she feels about him and get her ideas on it at some point? Otherwise, I like how much detail you've gone into with this character and I could see some significant potential with him.
  2. Hmm. How about Haggle? Perhaps he grew interested in Draggle, the mare who had a similar name, and intrigued by her, they became fast friends at first, then later a couple and finally, Stallion and Mare? His cutie mark could be a pair of scales, with a talent at finding just the right price for nearly everything, which would help his growing family continue to feed and care for itself?
  3. Fixed a discovered minor inconsistency! Heather Blossom's is in -Trottingham-, not Ponyville, and made the correction!
  4. Very good points, Derpy. I think we may be somewhat biased towards thinking of Twilight as special because of her role as central figure in the show. Though it remains to be seen how she will develop in later episodes. The one thing that sticks to me was how she got a tiara like Princess Celestia's during the second episode after the use of the Elements of Magic, and it took Twilight's abilities to do it (I wonder if Rarity might have been also...after all, the beginning set-up did say 'used her unicorn magic', so maybe it could have been possible!) which suggests maybe Twilight has a destiny other than the one she already fulfilled. You're right that the show reinforced that it was Twilight's calm and cool approach and knowledge and her studies (Going to school is good, kids!) helped her show up Trixie and deafeat the Ursa. But I think that Twilight likely has more potential by definition than perhaps any other pony at least, thus far. Though we haven't actually seen her use anything particularily spectacular since Boast Busters. Even in Dog and Pony Show, all she really did was copy a known spell.

  6. If it was out of a building, it was likely the slide of the schoolhouse in My Little Pony Tales! That's the only opening I know of, but there's no reason there couldn't have been others, as there were several slides of different types. Those were the only two I know of, and I do know that typically My Little Pony Tales sometimes used it as an opener, at least in the earlier series.
  7. I think he looks good! Hopefully none of my characters run afoul of this pony! Approved.
  8. I think he looks pretty good, though may I suggest perhaps...maybe not a drifter, but a resident of Bareback Gulch (Or a surrounding area...maybe an unnamed mining camp?) he sounds like a prospector of sorts to me, or would really suit well to that sort of profession. Maybe give that some consideration?
  9. Looks like a cutie! Approved.
  10. Welcome to the forums! Don't forget to stop by the Getting Started thread for a whole saddlebag of useful information and free goodies! Also the slide down the rainbow was a snippet from the original pilot, called 'Firefly's Adventure' or 'Rescue at Midnight Castle' which you can find on Youtube. They re-used some of the footage for My Little Pony Tales later on which may have been the same show as My Little Pony Girls, but I've never seen that naming before. But if the opening was the same, it probably was!
  11. Looking pretty good! I like the Wonderbolts angle! Approved!
  12. Add a little bit on his personality, and I think that'll be all he needs!
  13. I think that about bakes this Cake. Approved!
  14. Yep, pointed out the CMC together a loooong time ago, shortly after the board opened up! Though I didn't think to post it, haha.
  15. I like where this character is headed, the only real concern I have is that his powers might seem a bit too powerful and overdriven, even for a pony supposedly as potentially powerful in magic as Twilight. As I'd mentioned before, in canon, ponies can only teleport or *wink* so far and as far as it's been established, it -has- to be line of sight. I'd grant him the ability to travel quite a bit further, but perhaps limit to only as far as he can see, and never through any objects, so as far as he's concerned, if he can't see it, he can't go there. Teleportation of others would be perfectly fine to add, even though so far Twilight's the only one I know of that -has- teleported another in addition to herself, so I'll accept that as canon as well, but under the same rules and of course, should express more strain on his character. He needs some sort of flaw, like only being able to teleport so many times per day before he needs rest or risk going comatose or even death. Even the chessboard rook can only move as far as the sides of the board, and only if nothing is in its way. The medical aspect is okay, but I think he needs a few limits as well, such as he can't directly heal serious injuries, but possibly can influence them to heal faster, or maybe lessen the pain in his presence while dressing them or something like that. The problem with his overachieved powers is he seems to be a bit too Marysue. Consider reining in these a bit. Otherwise, I like his summary, he could be a lot of fun.
  16. Try to work a bit on your punctuation and grammar a bit more, but I think this looks like an interesting character. Hope you have fun! Approved!
  17. I like this character, but might suggest possibly detailing how she works with Sugarcube Corner and Pinkie Pie, if at all? With the number of baked goods and such going on in Ponyville, it's rapidly becoming the baked goods capital of Equestria! She might also be able to do just as well or better in the sunny seaside town of Hoofington, or maybe even the cooler northern Trottingham! Of course, no reason she couldn't travel to different towns to explore her dreams. But there's a bit of a contradiction, however. You've mentioned that the only thing she's any good at baking is her cinnamon twist treats, but yet aspires to be the best baker in Equestria. That's an awfully small base to work from, especially if she dislikes eggs, so I'd like to maybe see how she works through this. Perhaps she's an alternative-goods type baker, for ponies that don't like to use animal products in their foods? It would be interesting to see how she works through this.
  18. Sure thing! I wouldn't want to tell you that you can't, or that you can't be in Ponyville, I just felt he might have better luck elsewhere, but we'll have to see where he goes. It's going to be interesting to see what you do with this character. You can always keep the private-eye angle as a backup in case the theater doesn't work out, so there's definitely some options and room for growth. Other than that, I think he looks alright.
  19. I think he looks pretty good! I can imagine the number of stories a delivery pony could have! Maybe he's the talkative type, and we'll see!
  20. That's just what I mean, some people with physical handicaps, or physical deficicies that prevent them from training (weak bones, bad joints, slight builds and such) are naturally not predisposed to reaching that, much less more weight. Twilight has definitely devoted her life, I think this is what makes her such a magical powerhouse. She was predisposed to that kind of thing, and there's no telling how many other ponies -could-, but haven't applied themselves in this way. I think Trixie's talents lie in showboating, and her magic is related to that (Hence, Trixie or Trick-sy, like stage magic) and has never thought to or applied herself...or maybe she's just not predispositioned to the same amount of capacity that Twilight has. Twilight's reserves could be bigger which naturally give her the ability to reach as much as she has while Trixie may not.
  21. Yeah, and the increased gigglevision drove me nuts! The original show was delightfully campy 80's, but at least it had the excuse of being for the times, I think when G3 came out, whomever was in charge had a very different vision of what would make a good 'girls' cartoon' and boy were they woefully wrong!
  22. I think another thing to take into consideration is potential, as well. While Trixie and Twilight may have similar capacities, the difference between them becomes greater when you take into consideration their magical prowess. Twilight may have much more potential and capacity, which enables her to learn and do other spells even as she does. In Winter Wrap-up, we see that sometimes they don't always work like they're supposed to, but for Twilight she's still able to do it. It may simply be that Trixie is unable. After all, while any one of us 'could' lift two hundred pounds over our heads, not all of us are strong enough to do so, and some of us aren't even capable of exercising enough to be able to do so no matter how hard we try.
