  1. All the allowed pets can be found here, in the Approved Species List under Approved Species (Companions).
  2. Neon registered a voice to his upper left, turning toward it. The effects of his fall were slowly wearing off and his gait was regaining its steadiness, so he was able to make out the figure in this distance. It was a honey-coloured mare, wearing a headband and leg warmers. The colt was surprised to find a pony out so late, especially alone. She was clearly quite the brave pony. He cleared his throat quietly, trying to bring out his superhero-esque voice. "Of course, citizen," he gave a bit of a chuckle at the idea that he was in a Nightmare Night costume. "I am Nighthoof, defeater of the dastardly! Surely you know of my exploits?" He struck a heroic pose, trying to give the mare a good impression of the persona. However, the lack of wind and his still slightly wobbly grasp on the paved road below ruined the effect somewhat. As he introduced himself, the colt noticed another figure wandering toward them. It seemed to be a smaller pony and their halting movement made Neon wonder whether they knew where they were going. However, a young pony wasn't likely to be an evildoer, so he wouldn't bother the pony unless he was approached.
  3. Wrong Note glared upwards at the tangle her mane was creating as the result of the wind picking up. Stray stands continuously blocked her vision which was bothersome to say the least. She threw back her head, realigning the curls as she did so. Also, she turned her head toward the shoulder covering that matched her dress and repositioned it, holding off the chill that had surrounded the beach. With that problem out of the way, she noticed that the colts seemed rather nervous. She wondered quietly what exactly was the cause of his behaviour, but she showed no outward consideration toward it. His comment made the mare wonder about something. If the colt didn't truly want to be at the Ponywalk, why attend? Many ponies traveled from all over Equestria for the event and the part of Wrong Note that was still Celia scoffed at the idea that anypony could not want to attend. However, it was only a small part of her mind, a background thought that was silenced with her question. "If you did not wish to attend, why then do you yourself send? I would think that one who does not wish to arrive, must have a reason for their drive. Would you care to share, the thoughts behind what you declare?"
  4. I'm actually in the process of making an application for Chocolate Tail, who will be a chocolate manufacturer from Stalliongrad. Once he's finished and approved, I'd be up for some Stalliongrad RPs.
  5. Roleplay Type: Mane RP Name: Chocolate Tail Sex: Male Age: Stallion Species: Unicorn Eye Color: Gold (#FDD017) Coat Color: Chocolate Brown (#5C3317) Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Both his mane and tail are a caramel colour (#CC9966). His tail is styled loosely, left to its natural state. His mane is curled around his horn and is given a medium length cut. Physique: Average Cutie Mark: A golden laurel wreath. Origin/Residence: Stalliongrad Occupation: Owner of 'The Chocolate Laurel', a chocolate manufacturer based in Stalliongrad. Motivation: To both earn bits and provide Equestria with quality product. Likes: Cold temperatures, chocolate, successful business ventures, those who appreciate a good challenge. Dislikes: Ponies who can outwit him, uncouth ponies, the non-business savvy. Character Summary: Chocolate Tail's tale begins with a bet. Being a part of the Upper Crust of Stalliongrad, the colt was rather bored with etiquette and manners all day. So, he often went out to play with the other colts of Stalliongrad. He didn't much care for such common folk, but it was the best idea that the colt had. It was there that the challenge was made. One of the village colts insisted that a fancy colt like Chocolate had no chance of beating him at something practical. A bet was made to settle the conflict; each of them had to create a waggon within the span of two weeks without any intervention from their parents. Chocolate wasn't about to back down from the challenge and so each colt went to work. At the end of the fortnight, the colt returned with a crude cart, clearly made by his own hoof. Chocolate returned with a pristine and well-crafted waggon, pulled by two younger colts. Of course, the colt called him out as having cheated, but Chocolate reminded him that the only condition was no parental assistance. He had travelled to the lumberponies and the craftsponies' apprentices and managed to convince them to help him. As the other colt grumbled in frustration, Chocolate's cutie mark appeared. The laurel wreath symbolizes power, strength, success, and victory. However, Chocolate Tail's cutie mark had a two-fold meaning. Firstly, it represents his special talent is of being a cunning business pony. He always manages to get a victory out of his business ventures, no matter how small. Secondly, he uses evergreen laurel leaves in some of his chocolate, as they were the branches that lent their name to his company. In fact, The Chocolate Laurel was founded quickly after he left the care of his high society parents and entered the world on his own. While examining his business options, the stallion realized that there the mass production of chocolate had a field little to none. Still unable to resist a good challenge, the stallion rounded up a team of managers and started The Chocolate Laurel. The company began as a small enterprise, but through word of mouth and his own trips to the Grand Galloping Gala with his products flourished their business. Now, it's become the number one producer of chocolate on an Equestria-wide scale. Chocolate Tail is a strategic thinker, knowing how to twist the odds in his favour. Though he wouldn't consider using this ability for malicious reasons, he can occasionally come off as conniving. He also has a rather good understanding of the emotions of other ponies, so he can lend a hoof in getting a pony out of a funk. However, getting in his good graces is not a very easy task. A common trait in his life is the love of a good challenge. Proving his skills when something is at stake is one of his favourite things. Of course, those who share his passion for both challenge and business will get their ear talked off, but he'll also consider you to be well worth his time. His social class also gives him a rather arrogant demeanour, but he does make a conscious effort to be courteous to all ponies he encounters.
  6. (OOC: Sorry this is so late. I must have skipped over the notification by mistake.) Flux considered the stallion's offer, noticing a distinct drop in temperature in the area around the pegasus. "Oh, no thank you. I should be able to transport them without much more difficulty." However, she placed the volumes down, stepping back slightly from the stallion. As she did so, the air around her warmed, absent of the snowflakes which fell from the air around him. So it isn't my imagination, she thought, trotting back toward the stallion. The unicorn had never seen such a phenomenon before and would not rest until she discovered the reason behind it. "Forgive my intrusion, but I've never seen a pegasus chill the air around them to the extent the snowflakes are created. You must have quite the ability." As she spoke, possibilities whirled in her mind, everything from the latent magic that she was certain pegasi possessed finally manifesting itself in a more concrete form to his external body temperature being naturally below the freezing point. No matter what the explanation was, Flux knew that this manifestation was quite possibly a key piece of evidence in her main thesis on Unified Magical Theory. Her eyes and words shone with barely contained excitement at the mere thought of such a possibility.

  8. Thanks Skye and Robbiku! I look forward to RPing with my fellow crossover applicants.
  9. Finalized. I still app'd her in the way I would have for the Mane RP, as I wanted to give her some depth beyond just being an amazing adventurer. She's now ready for assessment and critique. EDIT: I have a quick question. Are Crossover OCs allowed to take part in Private RPs? I'm not quite clear on it and would appreciate if someone could fill me in.
  10. Alright then. In accordance with Skye's post, I'll be changing her to a Crossover/FFA only OC.
  11. You'll see. As for her name, I'm going by the one up on the MLP wikia. I do know that she's named after the word 'derring-do' and based on the images I've seen (such as the one in the spoiler), it is Daring-Do. EDIT: If I can't rework her into a Mane RP acceptable OC, I'll be happy to place her into Crossovers. And, the accepted OC 'Dunes' has an Indiana Jones motif as well. I'm certain I can make it work.
  12. Roleplay Type: Crossover/FFA Name: Diana "Daring-Do" Rose Sex: Female Age: Mare Species: Pegasus Eye Color: Dark Pink (#B80962) Coat Color: Golden Yellow (#FFDF00) Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Her mane and tail are both greyscale, having light grey streaks atop her darker grey main colour. She leaves both long and cuts them herself. Physique: Fit and acrobatic, honed by years of adventuring Cutie Mark: A compass rose. Origin/Residence: Diana was born in Fillydelphia. She now travels to pursue her adventurous lifestyle. Occupation: Adventurer, fiction writer Motivation: To find legendary treasure and unearth the relics of the past. Likes: Adventure, treasure, guiding others Dislikes: Neighsayers, cities, frightened or lost ponies Character Summary: Diana Rose was born to an earth pony mare named Sprinkle Pastry and a pegasus stallion named Polar Prance. Since her mother could not live in Cloudsdale with her husband, the couple moved to Fillydelphia, where their daughter was born. As a foal, Diana saw very few pegasi and was educated at the earth pony school in Fillydelphia. Her father was the one who taught her to fly, so her abilities are not as well honed as a pegasus who was trained at Flight Camp. Her mother was a baker by trade, but she had a love of reading which she passed onto her daughter. Diana would read stories of adventure, danger, and treasure with wide eyes and a great imagination. When she grew up, she wanted to be just like her fictional heroes. It was around this time that Diana earned her cutie mark. During a school-organized outdoors excusion to the Everfree Forest. She and a few classmates were lost in the depths of the forest. Even as a weaker flyer, the mare was able to lead the small group of frightened foals back to the mane group with her sense of direction and remembrance of landmarks. This earned her the compass rose cutie mark that she sports with pride. When it became time for Diana to choose her path in life, she decided to travel for a while to learn what she wanted to do. It was at this time that she stumbled across the legend of the Sapphire Statue, a relic of the Diamond Dogs. Determined to find it, she set off in search of the temples of the Diamond Dogs. After days of searching, she had found the temple. However, she'd injured her wing in the process. With the injury, she navigated the jungle-like forest on hoof and found the artifact buried under the rock ruins of the temple. However, when she returned with her discovery, the mare created a wild tale of daring and adventure. She wrote it down and was struggling with a name for her story. With a spark of inspiration, she wrote down the name Daring-Do and published the novel. It became a hit, with ponies everywhere wanting more adventures of the great explorer. Happy to oblige, Diana began to unearth more relics and spin the relatively boring tales into stories of adventure. She occasionally stumbles across a true adventure once in a while, but all of her recorded adventures are merely tall tales. Diana's main flaw is greed. She always wants to find more treasure and jewels and thus gain more fame and adoration from the ponies of Equestria. Though her greed can blind her to more important aspects of life, she still has a good heart. Using her talent for guiding others, she occasionally works as a tour guide. She uses a disguise for this, of course, but Diana always wants to help those who are lost if she can. She's good with foals, as her penchant for storytelling gives her a way to entertain the young ponies. Diana's also a master of hide-and-seek, so the foals can't slip away and get themselves into trouble. Of course, domestic life is far to boring in the pegasus' eyes, so she would never consider this for herself. Adventure is where her heart lies and it is also her main positive trait. She's never afraid to help others who are in danger because she's faced danger herself. Though it was mostly in fiction, she's tried to live up to the qualities she gave to her fictional self and will never give up if there's still a chance to solve a problem.
  13. Wrong Note tilted her head once more at the colt's gasp. It was an odd reaction from her point of view. Manehatten had always been a part of her old life that she'd never looked back on with any new gaze. It was quite the area for high society and models, but she'd never been able to view it as the grand city that many saw it as. She wondered if she was going about it the wrong way. After all, she wasn't Celia any longer. She tried to put herself in Survey's hooves and view the city from his perspective. Of course, many of Equestria's most famous models had been there at one point of another and to an aspiring model it must have been quite the sight. She nodded to herself, understanding his reaction. When she was asked by Survey about being invited, she paused. Her curse made it a bit difficult to get her full meaning across. So, she tried her best to answer him with her lyrical explanation. "An invite? Not quite. Nopony would recognize my name, as it is not the one which garnered my fame. I felt as though I should attend, as a reminder of the past it did send."
  14. Nice lookin' app you have here. Well, based on the rules we saw in 'Baby Cakes' two earth ponies can give birth to a pegasus and a unicorn, so having her parents be a unicorn and a pegasus should be fine. One thing I noticed while going over this app is that her broken horn and such aren't really explained in the history section. I think you may want to flesh that out in the app, since it's probably a big part of her character. One that note, I'm not sure that a pegasus who had a horn, even a broken one, is allowed in the Mane RP. I'm not a helpstaff or anything, but those are just a few points that I think could help you make this application even better.
  15. Thanks for volunteering, Munki! I'll leave the request up for a tad longer to see if there's any more interest, but consider yourself the cover artist by default.
  16. Mirage started at the unexpected question from her breakfast partner. "Oh, uh, not really." She looked outside once again, letting her mind gather some thoughts. "Well, it was mostly just all of that philosophical stuff. Y'know, what you'd see in those hand knitted quill squares that the older ponies are so fond of." Another pause, more consideration. "I'm not really all that future-oriented, y'know? I've never really considered that I should use each and every moment, 'cuz it'll never be again. I mean, my impulsiveness was scolded as a foal, but it's helped me enjoy myself so far, so I must be doing something right." She laughed a bit, turning back to Vulpus. "Sorry to get all heavy subjects on you, there."
  17. (Hope you don't mind me jumping in!) Neon Stargazer's eyes fluttered open slowly when greeted with the light of a nearby streetlamp. He blinked forcefully, trying to clear the spots from his vision. As he did so, the earth pony tried to remember what exactly had lead to him being on the ground. Um...it's nighttime-ish and... He looked down at himself to find the familiar all black garb of his superhero persona Nighthoof. ...I'm in costume, so it must have had to do with whatever I was chasing as Nighthoof. Mostly via conjecture and pieces of memory, the colt reconstructed the events that led to his fall. He'd been after some troublemaker or another, leaping around the gaps between Manehatten's apartment complex. He had been so close to catching his quarry, so close to actually managing to stop an evildoer without some embarrassing clumsiness on his part. It was then that a spotted cat had appeared in his path on the rooftops. Neon had tried to adjust his run to sidestep the cat and managed to do so, but his jump had been thrown off and the colt was no pegasus. Still slightly groggy, he picked himself up from the stone street of whatever alley he had fallen into. Alright Neon, just play it cool. You're an awesome superhero, act like it! Feeling relatively healed of his ego-bruise at the moment, the costume clad pony stepped out into the main streets of Manehatten. His walk was rather wobbly and it seemed like the world around him was shaking. Thankful that fewer ponies would be around to see Nighthoof making such a fool of himself, Neon continued forward determinedly.
  18. I'm still slightly confused about this whole situation. I've heard people saying two different things about the Derpy issue. So, some clarifying would be great. These points are: 1) That the use of the name 'Derpy' is somehow problematic. This is the least repeated, but I've seen it said before. Many assume that calling her Derpy has somehow gotten some fans up in arms. Now, whether it's about the name itself as a fan creation and the first user wanting some recognition for this (likely a monetary thing) or if they believe it to be offensive toward the developmentally disabled. Which brings me to the second point. 2) That Derpy is offensive toward developmentally disabled individuals. Much like starswirl, my mother works with developmentally delayed students. With this in mind, the thought didn't even cross my mind. There are many other fictional characters who are portrayed as being slightly slow, but none have received such a vocal protest. Honestly, I'm just confused by this whole issue. It's a children's show. If people were offended, especially if they are developmentally handicapped, I can understand and respect that as being their view on the subject. However, I'm more of the opinion that the main reason for this removal of the Derpy name is that Hasbro is worried about backlash from this minority hurting their reputation, which could be very bad for them. I'm not sure if that made much sense, but in summation, it probably stems from a corporate action taken to protect Hasbro from coming under fire by those who were offended. Let's just hope this is resolved without too much fuss because personally I thought it was a cute shout-out to the brony fandom that we should appreciate, not fight over.
  19. Hello artists and curious ponies, As uncomfortable as I am asking for request art, I would very much appreciate if somepony could give me a hoof with a title image/cover for my fan fiction Magnum Opus. If you choose to volunteer your talents, we can discuss details and whatnot over PMs. I have only a very rough idea in mind, so your own ideas of the project are more than welcome. Thank you for your time, whether you choose to create the cover or not.
  20. I'm finally free from exams, huzzah!

  21. The mare listened with interest, thinking back to the stories she'd always heard of such places. They'd always been described as desaturated places where nopony could smile. It had always sounded terrible and everypony who'd left had been better off for it. However, Vulpus' explanation made her remember that not every rumor is right. Boring, maybe, but at least they were polite. "Well, at least one of those ponies knows how to have fun." Though her laughter had died down, she still wore a slightly goofy smile on her muzzle. She felt content with all of Equestria at the moment and had good company and food as well. These are the times that we ponies should live for, she thought. Immediately, she followed that up with. Jeez, you sound like an old mare, Mirage. Now ain't the time for sentimentality! We've got an adventure ahead!
  22. Quantum had finally settled on her final picks for purchase from the shop. Knowing that it would be unwise to purchase every book she truly wanted to buy, she had shortened her long list down to ten volumes. Tesla had given her a rather disbelieving look, as though reminding her of the reason that she purchased books on such seldom occasions. Picking him up and placing the ferret atop her pile of books, she concentrated deeply on keeping the books aloft and balanced. Though manipulation of objects through telekinesis was her strongest area of magic, it was slightly taxing on her energy to keep ten thick books and a ferret in the air. She traversed the shelves carefully, watching her step and her books as best she could. However, she turned a sharp corner and bumped right into a large male pegasus. She stumbled back slightly, managing to keep both herself and her books on balance. Tesla peered down from his perch atop the texts, wondering what the source of such a bothersome commotion had been. "I'm terribly sorry, sir. Do forgive my absentmindedness."
  23. Mirage couldn't help but laugh at the story that the earth pony told. Briefly, she wondered if the other patrons of the restaurant were bemused but their seemingly random outbursts of laughter. The idea of bewildering several poines only made her laugh more, turning it into a weird a weird bubble fo all-encompassing happiness. She hadn't laughed this much since coming to her least enjoyed terrain of the desert and it felt quite liberationg, in a way. "Aliens? Oh man," she said through her laughter. "I've honestly only heard that mentioned once. You sure know how to weird out some folks, Vulpus." As her laughter died down, she latched onto a part of his story. "A rock farm huh? Was it really as bad as they say?"
  24. Flux leafed through the pages of her favourite medium carefully, considering the words imprinted upon them carefully. Some would say that it was not the place of a less practiced devotee of a subject to question its seasoned members, but the mare questioned each and every fact. She wanted to get only the best proven information possible, which meant she had to occassionally sort through misinformation and weakly proved theses to obtain useable and tested knowledge. Hoofing was rarely a challenged source in her regard, but basing ones theorem upon a piece of information with a single flaw could shatter the complex design completely. Distantly, she acknowledged a conversation between the new customer and Inkblot, but it was second to the object of her life's path. She knew that it was likely a bit impolite to read books before you purchased them, but she was merely taking a sample of their contents. The unicorn had gathered at least 4 books already and had mumbled several times about the neccesity to search for others. Tesla was busy with his own work, watching the raven who perched high above the ferret. He was already getting a bit bored staring at the bird, but he was still holding a fleeting interest in the avain.
