  1. Nah, she's just ran so fast that they looked like wheels!
  2. Same here, these comics are too good to not be canon.
  3. Oh gods, I have no idea, it was a long time ago. I guess if I had a gun to my head, it'd been Sonic's first game on Sega Genesis. However, I had the Atari system before that, so I honestly have no clue. lol
  4. I enjoyed this video very much, the voice acting, song and animation were top notch. As for the storyline, honestly I just took it as a Pony Music Video and left it as that.
  5. Yep, yep, I attended Bronycon, and it was amazing! Below is a write-up I did for another forum, so it's a bit weird, I do apologize for that. Hello everypony, Wilgrove reporting from Baltimare! So this is my second day at Bronycon, and I am having one Hel of a good time! First off, I'd just like to say that Oliver Nicole is just the nicest person you ever could've met at Bronycon. For those who don't know, she's the voice of Princess Celestia and Cheerilee. Friday, there was a VA Panel and I asked her a question about the video of GLaDOS writing a letter to Princess Celestia. It was a stupid question I know, but at least it was unique. Anyways, after the VA Panel, I was down at the vendor's hall getting some swag when she ran into me and another member of North Carolina bronies. We shared with her the positive impact the show had on our lives and she was really moved and gave both of us a hug. So, Oliver Nicole, one dynamite woman and someone who is not afraid to talk to bronies when there's not a microphone around. I also met with Amy Keathing Rogers, she had an informal panel where she played her Uke. It was really fun and she has a great singing voice and mad skills on the Uke. Now the con did have one sour note. Last night there was a panel for the roasting of our favorite MLP characters, which sounded like great fun, right? Yea, they only stayed on topic for the first 15 minutes and then it devolved into gay bashing, bashing the con staff, other panelist, etc. I get that to the people running the panel it was "humorous", but when people are walking out of your panel in droves, your brand of humor may not be working. The con staff did shut down the panel after it went on for about 45 minutes and the person who was hosting got his con pass taken away. He also had his comedy show cancelled. So mad props to the con staff for handling the inappropriate panel in an appropriate way. I am having a great time, and to see so many people come together for their love of the show is a really amazing experience. We talked about what an impact the show had on our lives, and how the brony community has been such a positive impact on all of us here and even on the kids who've gotten into the show. Parents were saying nothing but positive things about the brony community. One last things, The con had about 7,500 (rough estitmate) pre-regs and the numbers that are floating around is 9,000 con goers this weekend, double of last year's Bronycon. Wilgrove reporting again from Baltimare. I'm not going to do the play-by-play of what I've learned from all the awesome panels that I've been in, so bulletin points! Comics are 100% canon. Just got out of the panel with the comic creators. They've explicitilly stated that they not only work with Hasbro, but DHX as well to make sure the comic does not conflict with the show. The comics are canon, end of story. On the episode MMMystery on the Friendship Express, the original script did have Applejack also take a bite out of the cake. When Twilight ask why she didn't find any clues, Applejack was supposed to say "I'm just better at it than everypony else." I'm paraphrasing but there we go. On the first night of the Brony concert, the combined jumping of all the bronies (as well as dropping the bass) actually ended up registering on the ritcher scale (numbers I've heard was 1.1), so bronies can now create earthquakes. Go us! Honestly I do not doubt that, because while I didn't attend the concert (I hate dubstep), I did feel the jumping up and down no matter where I was in the Convention Center. Tara Strong didn't show up this year, she was booked at another con that's taking place at the same time. I'm just glad she's still doing cons after getting screwed over by Los Pegasus. Sorry, no Season 4 spoilers, which is a **** shame. The reason behind that was that Hasbro doesn't endorse these cons. Speaking of Hasbro, apparently they do pay attention to the brony community. They cited several examples such as Vinyl Scratch/DJ Pon3 being a canon name, Derpy being obessed with Muffins and apparently the design for the Equestria Girls came from fan art. Okay, so they shouldn't listen to us all the time, but there we go. You know, I think the thing I enjoyed the most about Bronycon was how reaffirming it was. I'll give you an example. There was this one panel, "Brony Pony Power Hour" where we just talked about the show and how the show affected our lives. There was this mother who had a 12 year old gay son who was into ponies. Her son was being bullied because of the gay and pony thing, and I kid you not, the whole community rallied around her and her son and...it was just so beautiful...it honestly was. and I am now back in North Carolina after a long road trip from Baltimore. It's now Baltimore again since the con is over. I will post pictures either tomorrow or Wednesday, too tired to do it now. I will say this though, BEST CON EVER! Also, I will be going to Bronycon 2014. Anyways, this has been the best vacation I've had in a long time. Guys, the brony community is awesome! For the first time in a long time, I feel completely comfortable in my own skin, and everyone here at the con is just so supporting loving and awesome. The outpouring of support that I have seen here at the con has really inspired me. Not only support from the bronies themselves, but also from the writers, voice actors, the comic creators, etc. It really is a positive experience that is really indescriable. What I've witness this weekend, leaves no doubt in my mind that the brony community is a strong community just like Trekkies, Star Wars fans, and Dr. Whovians. The bronies will still be here 10, 20, and 30 years from now. This weekend has made me realize that I am a brony for life. My Bronycon 2013 pictures
  6. I enjoyed issue #9 very much, and thought it was hilarious. My favorite part was the Princess Luna part, which made me lol. A great issue by a great team of comic writers and artist. I have yet to be disappointed by a MLP comic.
  7. My favorite song would still have to be This Day Aria with the Reprise.
  8. I did not draw this (I have no drawing talent), This is the artist.
  9. Well I don't think the problem is as much as the fans not liking the idea of the show. I think the problem comes from the fact that fans are attacking DHX directly. Questioning their talent and dedication to the MLP franchise as well as death threats (which apparently did happened.) I mean it's one thing to attack an episode or a movie, that's acceptable. However, to attack the writers, animators, VAs, that is totally and completely unacceptable and should not be tolerated by the fandom.
  10. http://www.equestria...m-and-trot.html I think this should be seen by every brony. The fact that some members of DHX are considering quitting the MLP/EQG staff is unacceptable, and I think it's time we need to calm down.
  11. http://www.derpyhoovesnews.com/tara-strong-announces-withdrawal-from-big-apple-ponycon/ Thanks a lot Las Pegasus.
  12. So was finally able to get this uploaded, this was a Ford Tri-Motor flight I was on back in June of 2012 and it flew out of KJQF (Concord Regional Airport). Anyways, enjoy the video!
  13. 1) I think they'll have five seasons total 2) All indication seem to be yes, they're going to keep Twilight an Alicorn 3) All I can say is watch the entire season and judge for yourself.
  14. Well for Rainbow Dash, it's a bit clearer on what her special talent is considering that she got her cutie mark after she did the sonic rainboom and won the race. So I think her special talent is being able to go really fast and when she reaches Super sonic speeds, she creates the sonic rainboom. None of which Rarity did during the Season 3 finale. Now Rarity's cutie mark is a bit more obscure. She didn't earn hers until after she designed the dresses for the school pageant with the gems that she found in the giant rock. However what is telling is the fact that Rarity's cutie mark is three diamonds or gemstone. Which kinda leads me to believe that her special talent involves finding gemstones, not making dresses. Except in The Cutie Mark Chronicle Rarity's horn led her directly to a giant rock that held a ton of gemstone. However as I've said before she didn't exactly get her cutie mark till after the school's pageant. So her special talent could be up in the air, but I'm about 90% sure that it involves gemstone given the incident with her horn and her cutie mark design. As for Rainbow Dash, she got her cutie mark after she went super sonic, created the sonic rainboom and won the race. Her is more cut & dry.
  15. Well evil is all a matter of perspective. I mean yea the ponies consider Discord evil because he threw Equestria into disharmony, a country that values harmony. However from Discord perspective, he's just having fun.
  16. Continuity Error: Rarity's special talent is finding gems, not making dresses. Also Rainbow Dash's special talent is going super sonic and making the sonic rainboom. It's kind of a glaring oversight when you consider that in Cutie Marks Chronicles it was Rainbow Dash's very first Sonic Rainboom that allowed the other mane six to get their cutie marks. /nitpick
  17. My first thought about this season is this: The leaks this season has been too **** high! Seriously, we already knew some of the major plot points in not only the Season Premier but some hints of what was to come in the Season finale (although we dismissed Twilicorn out of hoof at first). Season 3 had more leaks than the Titanic, which isn't a good thing; it kills the anticipation of a new episode. The fact that iTunes released a few episode early didn't exactly help either. I do think the fact that there was a longer wait between Season 2 and 3, and coupled with the fact that Season 3 only had 13 episodes hurt it greatly. As we've seen all season long in season 3, there was serious pacing problems in several episodes. I contribute this to the fact that the writers, realizing they only had 13 episodes tried to cram in as much as they could per episode. I also think the wait between the season hurt Season 3 because it seem the fandom went from waiting with anticipation to waiting with annoyance. Now the season had some great character development, most notably from Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle. Wonderbolt Academy, Sleepless in Ponyville & Games Pony Play, Rainbow Dash clearly shows that although she is very competitive, athletic and wants to be the best of the best, she won't do it at other ponies expense. She was also instrumental in getting the Crystal Empire The Equestrian Games. She also took Scootaloo under her wings, which was d'awww worthy. Twilight Sparkle grew as well, in Games Pony Play, with Cadance help she learned how to remain calm in the face of crisis and of course she became an Alicorn Princess. The season didn't have that strong of a start, The Crystal Empire part 1 and 2 did not live up to Return of Harmony Part 1 and 2, most notably in the villain department. Sombra was just lacking from my perspective. I just didn't feel like he was that much of a threat up till the very end, and even then he came off lackluster. Where as Discord was more engaged in not only the Mane Six but the audience as well. He was the spirit of Chaos, he's able to warp reality, etc. Throughout the entire Season 2 opener, you could feel the threat Discord poses to not only the Mane Six but to the MLP Universe as a whole. Despite the "could've been better" season opener, Season 3 did have great episodes early on. From Too Many Pinkie Pies up to Wonderbolt Academy. Even the obvious fanservice episode Magic Duel was pulled off beautifully by the writers and DHX. The canon building of Princess Luna being a pony Morpheus (greek god, not The Matrix's Morpheus) was awesome. We also had much needed development on Scootaloo which was appreicated. Now I'm probably going to get a lot of disagreement from the next part, but here goes. Apple Family Reunion, Spike At Your Service, and Keep Calm and Flutter On, were the weak points of the season. Apple Family Reunion didn't really do anything for me because honestly, it was boring. Oh look, Applejack is trying too hard...didn't we already see this in Applebuck Season? The thing about Applejack, her greatest strength: being dependable, being honest, and basically being the straight man to the other members of the Mane Six is also the same reason why she can't be a lead in an episode. Her personality and characteristic makes her a great supporting character, but makes for a weak star. It's why we have Adam Savage on Mythbusters, because Jamie Hyneman realized he would be boring by himself. Spike At Your Service honestly followed a too predictable path in terms of plot and I thought the writing was weak. I wasn't expecting a plot twist and it's true that DHX have done tried and true plots before in an episode, but they usually put their own spin on things to keep it fresh and entertaining. The most notable thing out of this episode is that Rainbow Dash is apparently writing a Mary Sue fiction. Keep Calm and Flutter On was weak because it honestly took away MLP's best villain. This episode had sooo much potential, not only to delve deeper into the whole "Chaos is part of nature, it's neither good or evil" motif, it was also a chance to show that not everyone can be saved by the power of friendship. I mean yea, it's a darker lesson for a kid's show, but it could've been better. I honestly loved the episode up till the end, and the ending ruined it for me. The season did recover with Just for Sidekicks and Games Pony Play. Just for Sidekicks was hilarious and it was great to see dragon greed come into play again. Games Pony Play also follow a tried and true sitcom format, but they did it well enough that I actually loved that about the episode. A contradiction from my earlier statement about Spike At Your Service I'm sure, but it all comes down to how well an episode is written. Then we have Magical Mystery Cure, an episode that had a lot riding on it as well had the fandom on the edge of their seat and biting their nails leading up to the episode. Despite the fact that this episode would've be better as a two-parter and the plot was rushed, DHX's writers pulled it off. Not only did they deliver an awesome musical episode, but they pulled off the creation of Alicorn Twilight very well. They explained (and show) why she became an Alicorn and what she did to deserve it. It was an episode that could've ended in disaster but was written and produced beautifully. All in all, while I am thankful for another season of pony, and I'll be here for Season 4, I do think that Season 3 is the weakest of the three seasons. While not horrible or terrible in any stretch of the imagination, I do think that it could've been better. The 13 episode limit and the obvious executive meddling didn't exactly help. When it's all said and done, Season 2 is still the strongest MLP season. I do hope the fact that Season 4 will have 26 episodes and hopefully a shorter wait time will mean an improvement in writing and in terms of episode quality. Season 1: 8/10 Season 2: 9/10 Season 3: 6/10
  18. Wonderbolt Academy for me, followed by Sleepless in Ponyville and Too Many Pinkie Pies. At the bottom of S3 episode ranking: Apple Family Reunion (sorry AJ fans, but AJ is just too boring for my taste), Spike At Your Service and Keep Calm and Flutter On (They ruined Discord!)
  19. When I re-watched bthe episode, I noticed a huge plot-hole, what did Celestia, Luna, and Cadance do to become Alicorns? Did they have to completeba magic spell as well? This episode also did some major retconning on the Alicorns. In S1E1, it's heavily implied that Luna & Celestia always were, now that may not be the case. Finally, the whole Alicorn thing does seem to hinge on The Elements of Harmony. Sent from my GT-P3113 using Tapatalk 2
  20. I don't disagree that this should've been a 2 parter, but given what it is, and what DHX had to work with. I think they pulled it off beautifully.
  21. Musical episode, YUS! ALL OF MY YUS!! Honestly the set up for the whole crisis felt rushed and mixed up to me. Usually we get the set-up for the crisis (IE Twilight accidentally cast the spell) THEN we get the crisis. This time it was backwards. The songs were pretty good, I enjoyed all of them! The episode did a VERY nice job of not only setting up Alicorn Twilight, but actually explains WHY she deserves it and the episode did the whole "It's your destiny" thing very nicely. I'm giving this episode an 8/10. It was a great episode, but it still feels like it'd be better as a Series Finale instead of a Season Finale.
  22. I think it means Season 4 is brought and paid for by Hasbro.
