  1. Hey, a zebra! Always nice to see something different, and it looks like you're working to get fit Kazina in with the established lore. As for your question about rhyming, I don't think they do. I don't see any mention of it in the lore page, and I can't imagine the kind folk here would require us poor souls to speak in rhyme. I like what I see in the application, which seems to cover all the major bases. There are some minor typos and similar issues you may want to look at, but overall this looks solid to me--very descriptive of her personality and how it developed. Good luck and good RPing!
  2. Thank you, fillies and gentlecolts! We'll be here all week.
  3. Oh goodness, I hadn't thought of that. One moment while I check. Okay. I don't see anything specifically against it, and I would suspect that very minor changes such as adding a clarifying sentence to a piece of background would be okay, but I can't speak for anyone official. I think the 'final' category is intended to show the helpstaff that your character is ready to be assessed as well as to limit the flow of character applications, but again I can't speak with any authority. My advice would be to leave it until you know for sure. Regardless, good luck!
  4. May I suggest adding something, a single line perhaps, about the atmosphere and mood she felt before she fetched the wrench? What you wrote above seems like it would provide a good base for that. And then perhaps another single sentence about how the feeling changed and the actual appearance of her cutie mark--maybe in a surge of joy at helping restore that proper flow of delight and enabling somepony to follow their special talent? Those particulars are just what came into my mind as I wrote, but I really feel like a short, descriptive explanation would tie that all together and make that cutie mark moment 'pop'. Did I mention I love the story potential this character has? Cuz I do.
  5. I really like this character concept...the idea of a pony who wants to study other's magic and special talents has a load of potential for roleplaying. The backstory is really well done to: it's concise and very descriptive, giving us an excellent picture of this young pony and why she is who she is today. The source of her fascination with magic is especially well done, in large part because you show it with a few simple sentences rather than belabor the point. Nicely done. I might like to see her cutie mark tied in a bit more strongly; the connection is clear to me but I think it could do with a bit more narrative. Apart from that this looks really good. I think you've got everything you need--best of luck!

Love it love it love it! A different style from the show + well executed = win! I really like the way the shading and highlights work on this, giving it a semi-glossy look that, because it's done well and over the whole character, looks good. Great cutie-mark, too! The name might have connotations you don't intend, but keep it if you like it. Me like!
  7. Ya don't need to draw it, and really, does it fit with what attracted you to MLP? I just think it don't. There. Duty done.
  8. Great! I didn't picture Bramble as quite this beat up at the moment, but I like how this looks...good determined expression, and the crosshatching as wounds thing works very well here. Nice job with the mane, too! I'm not sure about the rear legs showing as much as they do, but everything else looks spot-on. Also, I used to love that show, and the Splicer storyline was, naturally, a favorite.
  9. Nice clean lines, simple and stylized. Me like!
  10. Great! I'll look forward to it. And if you want some proofreading done or even someone to just bounce ideas off of, I love doing that sort of thing.
  11. A door a bull. Love the use of color in this, and the poses and expressions totally make it. Nice use of the holder, too! Me like!
  12. Fanfiction! I'd love to read it if you got it somewhere. You can PM me a link or mebbe send it to my email here!
  13. Hey there! Welcome to Canterlot. Sounds to me like you may have a character application in the works. We've got a good chat if you wanna check that out, too. See ya 'round the forums, eh?
  14. Me gusta! I love the expressions and body language. I agree with the minor points Bramble makes above, but overall I love how much this communicates about the characters.
  15. Alright, mon ami--draw these three travelling together, having a conversation.
  16. Aww, don't say that...it put the 'b' back in subtle! By the way, I love how Curtain Call has a resemblance to a certain individual. Nicely done. Also, I keep coming back to this picture and smiling.
  17. Yaay! I love the expressions, and the simplified versions below are cute. By the way, being influenced by Bruce "The Man" Timm is definitely a good thing.
  18. Nice fluid lines, and the sketchy style really comes well together on this. The eye is especially well done, as is the shading on the mane. Me like!
  19. Heya, Derp! Looks like you're getting great big helpings of welcome, but thought I'd throw in my two cents. I think you're gonna like it here...as you can see we got some interesting folks, and everyone I've met here so far is within the 'good' part of the 'interesting' spectrum. Also saw you put up some art already, and I salute your bravery!
  20. I agree, and also hope you don't mind some constructive criticism. I'm trying to find something that might help you rather than gushing about how excited I am to see this, because I am! My inner pony is doing a happy little trotting dance.
  21. And she's a pegasus! Yes! Also totally cute.
  22. It's because it's awesome! Who doesn't think about this stuff? MUTANTS AND COMMIES, that's who. For my part, I reckon' I'd be an Earth pony. I don't think I'd miss my hands, per se, but I would be about the worst when it came to crazy manipulatin' stuff with my tail and mouth and all that other jazz like ponies can do.
  23. Ooh...Tango. That's a nice one. That has my vote!
  24. Heya! Love the character, especially the hue! Looking forward to seeing what you do with her. Naming is always the hardest part. If you're thinking of something dance related, maybe look up some dance terminology: the names of positions or moves, and give her one of those or one inspired by that kind of term? Regardless, welcome to Canterlot. We got some good people here, decent roleplay, and a nice chat. See ya around!
