Yeah, my first character, Scoundrel, I wrote kinda a lot for her because I thought that was the standard. I was kinda surprised when Gizmo made it through, with only like three sentences in each paragraph.

I read it. And I basically had the same reaction as the OP. Sad, and I feel like I should have cried manly tears, but I didn't. I'm attributing it to me being a heartless monster.

Wow, a lot of pianists. Never woulda guessed. Anyway, my first instrument was the trumpet, back in 5th grade, and I took piano lessons out of school, but those didn't last. The trumpet didn't last either, as around 8th grade, one of the directors at my school said something along the lines of "You suck on trumpet, here's a trombone, a positioning chart, and a room to practice in. Have fun!" And, long story short, I'm the only Senior trombonist in the school. As for style? I tried joining the jazz band after school, but that was more irritating than fun, so while I can kinda play some jazz, I mostly play classic. And I don't know if it's a style, but I really enjoy playing in the marching band, mostly because the 'bones are the loudest section. Out of 300+ members, a group of 20 are the loudest.

I am under the impression that this is going nowhere fast. We started like two weeks ago and we haven't even met everyone yet. Not saying this is a bad thing; it gives people time to read the posts and stuff in case real life happens, and they won't be that far behind, but still.

She took it home, and in a short time the egg hatched a little blue dragon. Since QuickLime was taking care of him, the dragon felt compelled to help the pegasus, one way or another. He began by trying to make some gizmos to help Lime with her herbology, which is how he got his name. None of them worked, which made him a bit upset, but that won't stop him from trying (and most likely, failing) again! Even if Lime insists she doesn't need his help, and even if she truely doesn't need any help, Gizmo will not take no for an answer. He will try his darn hardest to help in any way possible. Considering that Gizmo's been living with Quicklime since being hatched, he shares most of Lime's ideals; things like blunt honesty and helping others. He even for a while thought that Lime was his mother! Needless to say, she isn't his mom, and he knows it, but he still feels like she is his mom. He's also picked up on how to read Lime's face during conversations. It's not so crazy as he knows what she's thinking, but it's close to that. More like he can get her entire side of the conversation just from her face. Although Gizmo tries hard, he's a bit scatterbrained and sometimes needs a reminder. He usually tries to write down instructions if he can, just so he doesn't have to bug people and figure out what he was supposed to be doing. He also doesn't like bugging people, and most likely will just wait if it looks like the person's attention he's trying to get is busy. Unless it's really important, then busy or not, he's going to tell them what he needs to tell them. ((I have QuickLime's permission to do this. Gizmo started out as a Free-For-All character for the "Our Story" Free-For-All as a replacement for Spike, and QuickLime is Twilight, but QuickLime wanted him in the World of Equestria, so here he is, more or less exactly the same from "Our Story."))

There's only three officially named Diamond Dogs: Rover, Fido and Spot. And they showed up in one episode. That's not a lot to go on. That brings me to ma few questions: How are Diamond Dogs named? Is it just normal dog names, or could it be something else? There's also the fact that we don't know anything about them other than that they like gems, and even then it might have been just the three who showed up in the show. Do they have to be obsessed with gems? In short: What's the board canon that we're going on for the Diamond Dogs? I looked and didn't really find that much on them.

Heights. Anything on the third floor or higher is not okay. If you took me to the roof of a sky-scraper and told me "You will be more safe here than anywhere else on the planet" and it was actually true, I would still not be okay with it. This also goes for planes and is situational for roller-coasters; if I've been on the ride before, then I can bring myself to get back on it. However, some I will just out-right refuse to get on. I think some people have one OC that they consider their "main character," whether it's just their first one or the one they resonate the most with, or that just shares their username. I'm sure if you used your OC from your fanfic, everyone here would be okay with it.

I use korok132 for everything. No really, everything. If you ever see a dude around with my name, give me a shout, say you're from Canterlot. If I have no idea what you're talking about, then it's an imposter, and those are never fun. I've had thoughts of making an OC named Korok (obviously not for pony-related RPs (unless it's a "human meets ponies" type dealie)) but so far he's never existed outside of mah bhraenz. Also apparently, after I came up with my name, I realized that there is a species in Wind Waker called the Koroks. Whoops.

BS Legend of Zelda: The Ancient Stone Tablets, is NOT a hack/mod. It was a legit game that was released by Nintendo for the Satellaview. I explain it a bit in the first video (the Prologue), as well as the story and stuff. As for info on the Satellaview, there are far better sources than me. RPs are kinda like writing a story, but not knowing how the other character is going to react to your character. It's rather entertaining, and can be pretty awesome with the right people and the right story. So should you RP? Yes. Should MLP be your first RP? Depends. As far as this board goes, the Mane RP (The World of Equestria) has no real 'plot.' It's all based on character-to-character actions and reactions, kinda like the real world, but with ponies. However, you might be able to get a Free-For-All or Crossover RP going that DOES have a plot and make something awesome. You also have to take into consideration "Do I really want to RP with ponies?" The answer should be "Yes," but it's your call.

I might be getting a little ahead of myself, but what happens when we get to an episode without Spike? What do I do then?

I had a thought for a character: Basically, a unicorn that specialized in transformation magic, like changing a squirrel into a rat or something. Would that kind of transformation magic be allowed? And would I be allowed to have him use it on other ponies, or at least on himself? I'm not saying he'd be able to go around willy-nilly transforming people, that would obviously be OP, but what if he could, it just took a lot of effort, like Twi making Rarity's wings in the Sonic Rainboom episode?

So basically the story's been sitting there for three days and I wanted to get it moving a bit, so I took the initiative. Also, I need to work on my ham. I feel like that could have been hammier. Like, 20% hammier.

"The Mayor, huh? Makes sense. Very well then, if you'll excuse us, we shall be leaving. Take care you two!" Gizmo smiled a manly smile and turned to make for the Mayor's Hall. Or City Hall. Minor detail that he'll figure out later, because right now there is an important task to be done, to ensure the preperations are living up to expectations! And he, Gizmo, the greatest faithful assistant ever, would be darned if his task was incompleted! "See, that wasn't so hard, was it?" he said softly to Lime "Just be nice and other ponies are nice in return... usually."

Okay, personally, I think having a contest type deal would be pretty awesome. However, I see the "big head" thing being an issue. I understand Lime's side of it, the brony who won might insist that their character should become one of the "Fan 6" (Derpy, Octavia, Doctor Whooves, Vinyl Scratch, Bon Bon and Lyra), and that would just be a mess. Personally, if I won and had my character in the background, I would be pretty damn excited, especially if I was in the target audience (see: 8 years old). Even now, I would be pretty excited, and I would probably tell my friends, and maybe people like you guys, but besides that, I wouldn't really care. There's also the problem of everyone would say "That was my character" and that also makes a huge mess and the world would be a better place without all the head-ache that would bring. The second issue, legality, wouldn't be an issue: Hub/Hasbro has the rights to MLP, so any character made for the constest, especially if it was made with a program that the Hub made would, legally, be the Hub's. So... legally, the winner couldn't claim anything from Hub, since they gave their character to Hub for use in the show.

I'm not picky about genre, as long as I enjoy the music. And it actually sounds like music.
