  1. It's been shown in "The Best Night Ever" that transformation spells are possible - Twilight turned an apple into a (very fancy and elaborate) carriage and mice into horses (different from ponies?). I suppose that, if done well, it could be alright. Make it so that it's the pony's special talent, and they don't do much other advanced magic. And they're not constantly changing form just to be better than everypony else. Nobody likes a Trixie.
  2. It says "all over Equestria." They could potentially introduce some interesting new locations here, or maybe places that have been mentioned by name (Trottingham?) but never actually shown.
  3. As far as Applejack's parents go... The dynamics of the Apple family are VERY close. The very first episode showed it was a huge family, and that became one of its basic characteristics. I really think that the parents are probably dead, because it's the only reason they'd never show up. Even if they were "traveling salesponies" they would have been at that reunion in the first episode. Of course, the show itself is the final word on what's canon or not. I mean, lightning apples? Sure, why not?
  4. Zap Apples will spawn tons of Epileptic Trees. Look up the term if you're not familiar, basically means "crazy nonsensical fan theories." Here goes: Among the other magical properties of Zap Apples, they can prolong a pony's lifespan if enough are consumed. Based on what Twilight tells us about Winter Wrap-Up, Ponyville was founded hundreds of years ago. Granny Smith is actually about 300 years old. Other ponies haven't eaten as many Zap Apples as her, so their lives haven't been affected in any significant way. Cartoons with loose canon are SO MUCH FUN.
  5. So this episode is coming up in two days. The idea of new pony episodes is almost too wonderful to my mind to comprehend after the long break. A few other sites have had discussions about the possibility of seeing Scootaloo's family in this episode. I can definitely see that happening - after all, it would give Granny Smith somepony to look lame in comparison to. I'd personally love it if it turned out that Scootaloo had a wonderful, loving, and not-tragically-dead family. Brace yourselves, shattered fanon could be coming.
  6. This is now my headcanon. To paraphrase a Penny Arcade comic: "Magic." "Yes, but how do they - " "They are marshmallow ponies and it happens through magic."
  7. Hasbro doesn't realize how much money they would make if they manufactured Derpy Hooves, Octavia, and Lyr... er, "Heartstrings" brushables.
  8. I like the ideas earlier in this thread about a Scootaloo/Rainbow Dash episode, to give them each a chance to show their more sensitive sides. I hope they do this in the future. An episode focusing on Celestia and Luna, going about regular business in the castle or something, could be interesting. Luna learning how to act in the present day, perhaps? Sure, that was a little bit of what "Luna Eclipsed" was, but I'd still like to see more since it's an interesting concept. And then there's an idea for a fanfic that I had a while ago: Rainbow Dash and Twilight switch bodies. Cliche plot, but it could be interesting. Maybe they have disagreements where they don't understand each other, and then Twilight accidentally switches places. Rainbow Dash has to learn to understand magic to switch back, and maybe Twilight has to learn how to fly because... the Wonderbolts are having tryouts, or something? I don't know.
  9. What does this have to do with alcohol? Apple cider is often non-alcoholic. Though we've had plenty of alcohol references in the show before.
  10. She's escaping! (Not that that's a bad thing, necessarily)
  11. I could be more pleased with shipping... I ordered some pins and was expecting them to arrive before I left for Winter Break, but now I'm at home and they got shipped to college, so I don't have them... Oh, wait, THAT kind of shipping. This show really makes me appreciate platonic friendships. I'd rather think of Applejack and Rainbow Dash as competitive best friends than as lesbian lovers, no offense to the LGBT community... But Spike/Rarity is okay, since the show itself has made that a really cute couple (though it'll probably be like any other cartoon romance - they will never actually end up together). And I did the impossible in my fanfic - Lyra and Bon-Bon as heterosexual roommates.
  12. Oh yeah, that's my favorite Derpy moment. I like to imagine her as cute and clumsy like that.
  13. [looks at shelf of ponies] I do not regret spending a single dollar, nor do I regret the 16-mile round trip bike rides I've taken to find them. Twice. If you think it's worth it, talk it out, but I think you should go for it.
