  1. California Polytechnic. Kind of a shame that there's no version without the school logo.
  2. I've seen every episode of Season 1 at least ten times although this is mostly because I had to search each episode for footage to use in my PMV's. The season 2 episodes I've only watched 3-4 times each so far; I try to avoid watching them again until the summer so they don't get boring.
  3. It's on a wiki page with an unverifiable source so I wouldn't put much stock in it.
  4. I think it's possible based on the implied train theme in the DVD's title. As of today two of the episodes ("Over a Barrel" and "Hearth's Warming Eve") both involve the ponies riding a train at some point. Based on that there's a good chance that "the Last Roundup" will be about AJ and co. taking a train to another location (possibly Aaaa-pplelossa) for a rodeo.
  5. Also the diagram is in a pediatrician's office so it's probably the underdeveloped brain of a foal. It would definitely explain the CMC's crazy behavior.
  6. Pegasi simply because flying and controlling weather would be godlike. While unicorn magic would be great to have in a society where no one has hands most of them are very weak with just telekinesis and a few spells tied to their talent..
  7. I'm am such a Twilight Sparkle. And yes, I do have a favorite number, it's 8.
  8. If worst come to worst I don't mind buying the episodes off iTunes since I feel Hasbro is completely within their rights to do so. My only concern is with the DRM interfering with my PMV production, doesn't it prevent people from editing the episodes they purchase? Also I hope Hasbro is only after the episodes themselves and not the fan content created from it. Losing episodes might be bad but destroying the fan works is what will truly tear apart the fandom.
  9. My problem with the the last 2 episodes and Dash in general for this season is her flawed characterization. She's not shown a good natured pony that lets attention go to her head sometimes but just as a narcissistic attention horse. Dash was a braggart in S1 but we got to see more sides to her personality to balance her out. In "Call of the Cutie" we she that Dash genuinely tries to help ponies in need when she takes time out of her busy schedule of napping to help Applebloom get her cutie mark. There was no ulterior motive or desperate plea for attention, Dash just honestly wanted to help another pony because she felt she could. While her ideas never worked out for AppleBloom her heart was in the right place. We also got a lot more examples of RD's sense of loyalty and justice. Dash was willing to sever ties with Gilda despite their long standing friendship together once Gilda insulted her new friends that were only trying to help her. She defended Fluttershy as a filly when she was being bullied. Finally, the strongest example of this is in "Over a Barrel" when even after being humiliated by Little Strongheart she was the first and only pony to stand up for the Buffalo once she understood how they were robbed of their land. Finally this episode had chance to justify her actions by focusing on one Dash's weaknesses. One of the things that made "Sonic Rainboom" so strong was that it's the first time we she Dash's fear of failure and her triumph over it through a second successful Sonic Rainboom. "Mare Do Well" also has a scene where RD expresses concern about being alone now that she isn't popular. While I wouldn't want Dash to get a Naruto-style sob story explaining her lonely life, I feel that this should been expanded on to redeem her somewhat and give more insight to her character. Hopefully future episode have Dash showing more restraint and responsibility so that the last the last two episodes don't become pointless.
  10. I'm more surprised that Discord is beating the Joker by such a large margin, Batman:TAS Joker at that.
  11. Interesting episode, I'm still a bit disappointed that it wasn't Trixie. She would have fit better considering the whole lesson on bragging and humility. Anyway I'm gonna have to rewatch part of the episode anyway due to stream issues so I don't have a solid opinion on it yet, though I feels like one of the lesser episodes in the season so far IMO.
  12. While Tank did prove his worth to Rainbow through his loyalty, the fact that he's extremely slow and flightless make him an extremely difficult pet for Dash to care for. When Dash said she needed a pet that can keep up with her she literally means pet that can match her speed. If she ever wants play with Tank or just travel around Ponyville with him she'd have to slow down to his pace, which would be counter-productive for Rainbow, or tire herself trying to carry him from place to place. And then there are the issues with living together. Although they never bring this up in the episode, Rainbow dash lives in home made of clouds so unless her pet has wing they wouldn't even be able to live together. (In my head canon I assume that Twilight used a more permanent version of the cloud walking spell on Tank so they could live together.) While giving Tank flight may have been a cop(ter)-out it was necessary so that Tank wouldn't too much of a burden for Dash. She's pony that was born to fly and spends more time in the air than on her hooves, having a pet that takes the sky from her is like Owlicious being too noisy for Twilight to study or Opal constantly clawing Rarity's dresses. A pet that would prevent you from doing what you love is not worth keeping no matter how loyal they are.
  13. People like to pair them up not just because they're musical ponies but because they make for great odd couple. Octavia seems like a well educated, mild mannered and elegant pony who enjoy the finer things in life while Vinyl seems to be her exact opposite, a smart mouthed, rebellious party animal. The stronger the opposing personalities the more they secretly love each other, if you're wearing rose-tinted shipping goggles.
  14. They could just scoop a little bit of salt with a spoon or lightly shake some out from a salt shaker. A "pinch" isn't a clearly defined unit of measurement and it doesn't require fingers.
  15. Gah! I was so expecting a song when AJ was explaining sisterhood to Rarity. Maybe next week... Anyway it was a really cute episode. A bit predictable, until the Rarity/AJ switch-aroo, but very fun.
  16. Not really, pegasi (and alicorn) wings look tiny when folded because of the show's artsyle.
  17. Yeah, if it's not a new character it makes the most sense for it to be Trixie. Last time she was in Ponyville Twilight outshined and disgraced her by single hoofedly saving the town. What better way to outdo Twilight than to literally become a hero herself?
  18. Masked vigilante pony!? nana-nana-nana-nana BATMARE!
  19. Awesome episode!!1 Ok, I'm a little disappointed that there wasn't song in this episode but otherwise I loved it! Unintentionally scary Luna is the best Luna! Also, my ponysona below is now legit since Luna's chariot had bat-winged pegasi.
  20. "Damn this is getting popular. I'll just watch the first episode, there's no way it could be THAT good..."
  21. Any pony else anticipating a new song with this episode? Season one normally had songs for episode-long events like WWU and the GGG so I would expect them to do so for Nightmare Night too. Also we have yet get a song this season when already had 3 by this point in season one. I think this is on purpose, the creators are going big with everything this season as seen with "Return to harmony" and "Lesson Zero", so unlike S1 where we didn't get a big musical number until ep. 11 I expect them to blow us a way with the first song of the season. Hopefully it's a catchy macabre tune featuring the mane 6, Spike, and Luna( just want to hear the princesses sing for once).
