Well, New Orleans was a blast, and I was loving the time I spent with my family (Whether it was throwing dollar bills at women, or being force-fed liquor by a cute blonde girl), and I was loving the food. But now, the time has come to move on to the next port. I'll only be gone for like 3 or 4 days, this time, and I'll miss you all terribly.

So, I'm riding in the back seat of my friend's car, sitting next to a shipmate whose last name is Canon. A few minutes into the ride, a revelation hits me. Bass Canon. xD

I just listened to Mic the Microphone Zero's dramatic reading of Cupcakes... Why... Why did I listen to it? Is it because I'm so bored? Either way... I regret it. I've read the story, but Mic's version... Made it so much worse. Anyway, now I'm listening to his version of Rainbow Factory. Wish me luck.

Alright. This sucks. I'm going to be underway for 5 days in transit to a port. I'll be there for a week, then off to another port for a week, then eventually back home. This is going to be almost a span of a month. Which really sucks. The good news is that while in port, I'll be able to RP whether I'm on duty or not. Bad news... I'm on the watch bill. >.< Good news (For my readers) I'm going to be writing the entire time I'm not on watch. (Or I'll be playing Devil May Cry 3... All possibilities.) Even better news, I'll lose more weight. xD Until I hit New Orleans. GULF SEAFOOD AND CAJUN CUISINE HERE I COME!

Well, upon releasing chapter 15 of my fanfic, "Broken Strings and BPM's," I quickly realized that my readers are already awaiting chapter 16. xD I love my readers! They're the lifeblood of my writing! Love you guys!

Well, I was on my way to the rec building on the other side of base with my $1200 laptop in my backpack, and suddenly it started pouring down raining. I got to the rec center fine (although completely soaked). I walked in, and powered on my laptop. I was only on it for a few minutes when it completely froze up. I powered it off, and turned it back on, and only the power button light lit up. It's been like that for the past hour. It's official. I've lost it all. All my music. All my software. All my art. All my games. Everything. I've cracked open the back of it to check for water. Nothing. I checked the battery. Nothing. I'm officially screwed.

Well, I've been wanting to see my fic character Ivory Keys app'd on Canterlot, but didn't know if anypony could do the character justice if you've read my fic(s) then you know who Ivory Keys is. If not, then there's a few pictures of her in my gallery. She's an earth pony who plays techno, but if necessary, she can be adapted to a piano playing Pegasus, or a unicorn who uses the same means as my character, Mid Wobble. She's a bit timid when she's not on stage, and otherwise is a caring and kindhearted mare.

Well, since I've spent all night playing Borderlands and Roleplaying, I haven't gotten any sleep tonight, so accordingly, I'm taking the night off. I more than likely won't be doing any Roleplay tonight, so I can get a little bit of sleep. God knows I need it. I'll do some roleplay throughout the day, when I get the chance, but tonight's still in the air. It really all depends on how I feel after I get off work.

The following is a real life conversation between Deep Bass, and his friend, and musical collaborator, Trik Beatz.
    Time: 3:14 A.M.
    Location: Johnny's Diner
Waitress offers Bass a refill on coffee, to which he humbly refuses.
Beatz: "You aren't a real sailor."
    Bass: "Shut up."
TB: "Don't you know the Navy runs on coffee?"
DB: "Well, I know that everything basically runs on steam."
TB: "Even the nuclear reactors are ran on coffee."
DB: "Correction. Nuclear reactors are run by Twilight Sparkle."
TB: "And what runs Twilight Sparkle?"
    DB: "The magic of friendship."
TB: "And what runs the magic Of friendship?"
    DB: "Princes Celestia. Duh."
TB: "And what runs Princess Celestia?"
DB: (thinks momentarily, and remembers the first chapter of the fanfic "A Slice of Life.") "Touché. Touché indeed."

Well, I was sitting on the pier, bored all day, because the sea state at our port was rediculous. The bumpers between the ship and pier were rocking like crazy. Well, at first they refused to let us lower the boat so we could paint because of the sea state, but somehow, we managed to convince them otherwise. Well, upon getting in the boat, we realized just how crazy it was. Not only myself, but also my fellow punt crewman also fell into the nasty crapwater. Unfortunately, they made us take the boat out. After a short argument, my PO's decided that they weren't going to let us go back down. Without even thinking about it, I blurted out "Come on, BM1! One more try! I gotta know we gave it our all! If I'm goin down, I'm goin down painting!" Despite my epic RD quote, they still didn't let us drop the boat. v.v I felt awesome tho.

Okay, so I'm in agonizing pain right now. While working the side, we have a chemical that we use to clean rust off after we strip the paint, and it's called OSPHO. I don't know the legit name for it, but I know that it burns like crazy when it hits skin (or your eyes, as I've learned). Well, one of my PO's just threw a bottle of it down to me, so I could spray it. Well, I've got a nervous tick that causes me to pick at any dead skin on my hands, and our spray bottles suck. You see where I'm going with this. Well, I spray it, and some of it gets on my hands. It burned. I was screaming in agony, and my PO was laughing at me. FML.

Well, here I am, sitting on the side of my ship in a small boat, surrounded by CHT water. CHT is all the sewage waste from the ship. Yes, that's right. Poop. Well, i'm going to be down here all day, supervising the people who were late, cuz I'm the BA of my Division apparently. It's awesome cuz all I do is sit here, smoke, and listen to my awesome pony playlist. Yep. I'm the captain of a small boat. I even named it, and beat the side with a plastic water bottle. It is named the USS Disco Pony. Well, so far today, I've managed to finish chapter 9 of my fic and post it. Hooyah to me! Now I'm bored, and listening to (and singing) "One Last Letter" by Aviators ft. Bronyfied.

Ok, so yesterday, at morning muster, we had a new petty officer, who recently checked onboard like... last week. Well, there's a pattern that all new PO's fall into when they get onboard into Deck Department:
1.Observation period. (Normally a few days)
2.Notices how disorganized the department is.
3.Tries to change the department to make life better for the seamen, and get things done more efficiently.
4.Realizes that all his efforts are for naught (mostly because the department heads just don't really care), and eventually gives up.
    5.Becomes a total douche.
Well, as predicted by the aforementioned pattern, this PO holds us after muster, and says, and I quote: "Alright, guys. I noticed that this department is all kind of *expletive*'d up. And we're gonna do something about that. So, we're gonna organize the work schedule a little bit."
Of course, me being a brony, I was shot back to "Winter Wrap-Up." So, my first thought (as well as the first thing that came out of my mouth) was "Aye aye, Petty Officer Twilight Sparkle!"
Of course, since nobody else in the department is a Brony, they all looked at me like "WTF?"
So, now I'm the weird guy in my department. Go figure.
    Pic kinda related.

Well, since I'm so happy that my character App got approved, I'm going to share with all of you the story of how I came to be a Brony.
It was around early September 2011, and I was in school to become a Submarine Electronics Technician, Navigation Specialist. I had gotten in trouble the first day of A-school, for reasons that I thought were stupid. Turns out it was destiny. Utter, and complete destiny. About 2 weeks into A-school, I was assigned to Manditory night study, and the fitness enhancement program (Even though I blew my physical fitness assessment out of the water). I was also set to the lowest liberty phase, which meant that I couldn't drive or even ride in my own car (Trust me, it adds up.) Well, here's where things get messed up. My schedule was as follows:
    0415: Wake up
    0530: Be in class
0600: Galley opens (I'm already in class. No breakfast for me.)
1200: Released from Class. Return to barracks to change for PT/FEP.
1230: Leave for PT/FEP (Which meant I had to walk across base in 30 minutes or less.)
    1300: PT / FEP
1400: Released from PT / FEP. Return to Barracks, and Change for night study.
    1430: Leave for Night Study.
    1500: Night Study Begins.
    1600-1800: Galley open for dinner.
1700: Released from Mando study. Return to Barracks so I can study. (Yeah. No food for me.)
2000: Report for Liberty expiration. (This meant that I couldn't leave the barracks except to smoke.)
    2100: Bed time.
So, in short, I went three weeks living off of nothing but crackers and Ginger Ale. During those three weeks, I frequented Memebase in my free-time. I saw the pony memes, but didn't really think about it, due to all the other random stuff I had seen on Memebase. Around the third week, I actually visited the site, and saw all the awesome memes, and it actually made me smile for once in the three weeks that I had suffered. At the end of the third week, I was dropped from training, and was being sent to the surface fleet. I was extremely sad, especially since I had spent over a year trying to make it through school, and become part of the submarine force. That day, I was moved to the Transient Personnel Unit barracks. I was still depressed about having my dreams ripped out from under my feet just like that. Then, one day, I was standing watch in the CO's building with another TPU guy, and he started talking about this girl that he was dating, and mentioned the word Brony. I referenced a meme that I had seen, and he was like "Dude. You need to watch that show." So, I went back to the barracks, and watched the episode "Luna Eclipsed" on Youtube. I had never smiled so big. It was the greatest thing I had ever seen. In fact, it was downright beautiful. That night, I went to the pub, and leeched off their wifi, and bought the entire first season on iTunes. Ever since then, my life has taken a turn for the better. I was sent to my new ship in Norfolk, and sure enough, all of my friends from school are here, too. I've managed to convert a few of them into Bronies as well. In fact, one of them helped me record my cover of "September" by The Living Tombstone. When I got here, I started writing my first fanfic, and then after that, I discovered the Youtube Brony musicians, The Living Tombstone, Glaze, and Mic the Microphone Zero. I realized just how amazing they were at what they did, and I wanted to do the same. So I got a DAW, and begin making techno style tracks, with rock structure. Then after that, I bought a sketchpad for my computer, and started Drawing. If not for Ponies, I would've never discovered my love for writing, music, and drawing. Thank you, ponies. I owe you my life.
