  1. I'm still a bit confused as to why Carrot Cake can't be in Canterlot as well? I think it kinda makes more sense for her to have just gotten seperated from him while in Canterlot as opposed to her suddenly just ending up in Canterlot. It makes things a lot less complicated too.
  2. It took Carrot cake a moment to recover from being hit by the torpedoing foal as he lay their on the floor. When he did recover, he was met with the scene of cuteness that was the two Cake twins reunited. "Pound Cake, you're alright!" Mr. Cake joyfully proclaimed. He then looked back at the open door that Pound had just shot out of. "And you were in… The closet?" he said in disbelief, mimicking his daughter's reaction as he fachoofed himself. "Of course, why didn't I look there in the first place?" Mr. Cake said as he surveyed the mess he had made of the room earlier looking for these two. "Pinkie is always telling me how much Pumpkin loves hiding inside there! Although, I'm not sure how Pound got in there…" he said, looking away for a moment as he pondered the situation. It was then that he remembered Cadence and Salacar's presence and looked at them both with a warm smile. "I really can't thank you enough for all that you two have done today, especially you, Princess. I think it says a lot about somepony with a position like yours who would take time out of her busy schedule to help a lost foal." he said as he got back up on his hooves. "I"m not sure what I can do to repay the both of you. But if you're ever here in the neighborhood again, you can have whatever you want here at the Sugar Cube Corner on me. I think you two have done more than enough to… Huh?" Carrot Cake's attention turned back to Pumpkin, now clinging to Cadence's foreleg. Even though she might still be a foal, he could tell exactly what she wanted by the look she was giving him. "Oh no, I know that look. Sorry Pumpkin, but I think the Princess is a bit too busy for foalsitting. Besides, you've already got Pinkie as your foalsitter."
  3. Muffin Top was quite startled by Neame's outburst, backing away from her with is ears folded down. If there's one thing he really disliked, it was getting yelled at, and Neame was certainly not holding anything back. The simple-minded Muffin, however, was having a difficult time comprehending just why she was mad and why she was only just now letting this all out. He flinched as she snarled at him, and was not at all comforted by the fact that Cutlass did not seem to be taking any of this seriously. When she finally did finish, Muffin couldn't do anything but stay quiet for what seemed like a very long period of awkward silence. Finally, Muffin got up enough courage to break speak up. "I-I'm not sure I understood all of that, Neame… B-But I'm awful sorry if I did somethin' to…" Suddenly Muffin was interrupted by yet another outburst from Neame. "Kla-what?" Muffin said, not sure of what she was talking about until Cutlass clarified for him. "Oh! Well how 'bout we all head on over there and grab somethin' to eat. I'll even treat ya to a cup of coffee, Neame." Muffin said, already trying to make up with the griffon. Muffin was at the head of the trio as they entered the cafe, holding the door open for the other two females and following after them. "Well this looks like a nice lil' place. Kinda like that place we ate at in Canterlot, huh Neame?" Muffins said to Neame, hoping that she had cooled off by now.
  4. Carrot Cake watched intently as Crescent weaved his spell. He was quite impressed with the unicorn's magic proficiency, he'd not seen another pony use magic like this outside of Twilight Sparkle and Princess Celestia herself. Watching in awe as the azure sphere formed before them, Carrot hardly took notice of Crescent's request to catch his breath. "Hey come on now, there's no time for resting, we gotta find Pound Cake!" Carrot said, poking at Crescent with his hoof. Next thing he knew, the magic sphere suddenly darted away from them, knocking over various baked goods in its path. Carrot winced at the sight of the spoiled sweets, but quickly pushed it from his mind as he watched the sphere go up the stairs. "Upstairs? Why would it be going there?" he asked, looking to Crescent before following the sphere up the stairs and into the hallway. The sphere moved too fast for him to see what room it went into, but he was able to tell that it went into the twins' room from the faint blue light eminating from inside the room. Upon stepping inside the room, Carrot Cake saw the sphere come to a halt, levitating in front of the closet door. The closet? Had he checked the closet? Could he have been in there all along? Before he could think anymore on it, he heard a loud banging noise coming from behind the door. Nervously, he reached his hoof out to the doorknob slowly turning it… And out of the closet came Pound Cake, flying at full force into his father and sending him tumbling backward and landing on his back with the pegasus foal on top.
  5. Upon hearing Cadence's story of how she found Pumpkin cake he seemed surprised at first but then let out a dejected sigh, "She made it all the way outside on her own? Looks like that unicorn magic of hers is running amock again, Pound must've flown off too, the window was open." Carrot said, seeming to calm down a bit, although this didn't last long as Pumpkin began to cry. "Now, now, shh, it's okay, we'll find your brother." he said, cradling the foal in his hooves as he listened to Crescent. "Really? You mean you can use this spell find Pound Cake? That's amazing!" Carrot said, clearly impressed by the unicorn's skill in magic. "Only problem is that we don't really have anything that belongs to just him, these two share just about everything." In his mind, Mr. Cake began to despair again, then suddenly an idea hit him. "Everything except..." He quickly gave Pumpkin back to Cadence, "Go ahead and take her, she seems to have taken to you. And come and follow me inside." He said as he opened the door to the Sugar Cube Corner and galloped up the stairs, returning a short time later with what appeared to be a diaper genie. "Sorry, but this is the only thing that I could think of that belonged only to Pound Cake alone." he said as he opened up the diaper genie and produced a diaper that still smelled rather fresh. "I'm er, pretty sure this is his diaper from last night. He had quite a bit to eat last night." he said, sitting the diaper down on a nearby table. "I really hope the diaper itself is enough, I do not want to have to reopen that thing again." Carrot said, gagging at the thought.
  6. Muffin Top was all too happy to leave Canterlot and get away from snooping guards. A couple of guards had regarded him with some suspicious stares upon noticing the stallion's shifty behavior, but in the end, he was able to make it aboard the train without incident. As they boarded the train, although Muffin was offered more comfortable quarters for the train ride, he insisted on riding in back with Neame so he could keep her company. While he meant well, however, his attempts to keep Neame's spirits up during the train ride with stories of his days on the rock farm really did little more than add to her list of annoyances. Muffin himself was not at all bothered by these less-than luxorious accomodations, it was a nice change of pace from sleeping out on the cold ground. "Whoo, what a trip! There were all sorts of interestin' characters ridin' in back with us. And that hay was mighty comfy to lay down on too. Don'tcha think, Neame?" It was then that Muffin noticed the angry glare that Neame was shooting him, prompting him to cower back over towards Cutlass as they stood on the boarding platform. "Er... Y-You alright Neame?" Muffin asked nervously.
  7. People who take this show waaaaaay too seriously. Like that girl who made that post on FiMFiction ranting about how mad she was that Celestia got beaten by Chrysalis.
  8. Having just gotten back from running some errands, his saddlebags full of various foods and cooking ingredients, Carrot Cake was quite surprised as he stepped through the doors of the Sugar Cube Corner to see that the place was filled with several ponies. "O-Oh my…" he said to himself, both happy with the fact that so many customers but also a bit frusterated that Pinkie was nowhere in sight. "Uh, excuse me, has anypony here know where I can find Pinkie Pie?" Carrot asked and was met by a reply from Muffin Top. "I think I saw her go back through those doors over there." Muffin pointed his hoof in the direction of the double wing doors that lead to the kitchen before turning back to Timid. "You're buyin' cookie omelettes for everypony? Well that's awfully generous of ya, timid but are ya sure ya'll be able to pay for it?" Muffin said, sounding a bit concerned. "Pinkie, what're you doing back here?" Mr. Cake said, as he entered the kitchen and set his saddlebags down next to the doorway. "We've got a swarm of customers out there!" he said as he looked back out over the doors at all the ponies. "Where did all these ponies come from anyway? I've never even seen most of them before."
  9. Carrot Cake began peeled himself off of the flower bed that he had landed in, pressing his hoof to the side of his head as he did so. "Ugh… I'm gonna feel that one tomorrow morning." he said as he looked up and saw standing before him, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza herself. His jaw drop as he quickly picked himself up off the ground. "Pr-Princess Cadence! Oh my this is an unexpected honor!" he said, picking up some knocked over flowers and presenting them to the princess. "Er, here! These are for you." Carrot said nervously, seeming to sweat a bit as Cadence took the flowers from him. "Oh and you found Pumpkin too!" Carrot said, scooping the foal off of Cadence's back into his hooves and hugging her tightly. "Pumpkin Cake, you little rascal! How did you get out here anyway!" he said, happily nuzzling his Pumpkin as he held her close. "Did you two find her? I can't tell you how much I appreciate you going through all the trouble of bringing her back here. But how did you know where…" Suddenly Carrot's eyes widened at a sudden realization. "Hey wait a minute! You found Pumpkin Cake, but where's Pound cake!?" His panic now renewed, Carrot's eyes darted around him frantically. "Oh no, Pound Cake!"
  10. Carrot Cake bumped his head on a set of shelves the he'd just cleared out during his search as he heard what he was sure was young foal crying out just outside the window. Wasting no time, the stallion dashed over to the open window and he immediately saw Pumpkin Cake on the back of another standing just in front of the Sugar Cube Corner. "Pumpkin!" he cried out, so overjoyed that he had found at least one of the twins that he didn't even notice that the pony his daughter was sitting upon was none other than Princess Cadence herself, nor did he notice that he was losing his balance as he leaned out the window to see her. "Oh thank Celestia you're… Wha!" Carrot cried out as he suddenly found himself falling from the second-story window to the ground, landing face-first in the dirt right at Cadence's hooves. "…Ouch." he muttered, indicating that he was more or less okay.
  11. Carrot Cake made his way up the stairs of the Sugar Cube Corner to the second-story apartment with a trey of two bottles on his back. Carefully trotting along so as not to spill the contents of the bottles. It was getting about time of morning where the twins would soon wake up, and they always woke up hungry. However, unsure if they were awake quite yet, Carrot Cake trotted along quietly, having no desire to awaken the two foals early and send them into colicky crying fit. Slowly pushing open the door to the twins' room, he carefully trotted over to their crib, to see if they had began to stir awake only to find that they neither of them were in the crib at all. Carrot's eyes widened with horror at this sudden realization as he placed his front hooves onto the edge of the crib so that he was standing on his hind hooves, letting the trey with the bottles on them fall off his back and break on the floor below him. "Pound Cake! Pumpkin Cake! Oh no... Where are they!?" Carrot Cake cried out franticallly, tossing aside the pillow and mattress in the crib, then flipping the entire crib over to check beneath it. "Gone… both of them…" he said to himself as his mind began to race. Where could they be? Had Cup Cake taken them out? No she'd gone out to run some errands and told him to watch the twins. He briefly entertained the idea that Pinkie might've taken them somewhere, but then he realized that she was down in the kitchen working on her latest cooking experiment. The last he seen them was when he checked in on them earlier that morning, and they were both sleeping in their crib safe and sound. For a second time, the realization that his two foals were missing washed over Carrot Cake as he began to dart around the room, throwing about toys, diapers, and stuffed animals in a desperate search for the missing Cake twins.
  12. Are you by any chance an FFXI vet? Because this frog looks a lot like the Poroggo mages from the game.
  13. Muffin was hardly able to keep up with all that was happening as he watched Cutlass dart off, "H-Hey now wait just a…" but she was already gone before he could do anything. In one last desperate attempt to try and stop this crazy plan from unfolding, Muffin looked to the Major. "Er... Mr. Stronghoof, sir, you ain't plannin' on goin' along with this are ya?" he asked, although still somewhat intimidated by the Major's enormous figure. "Absolutely not!" the Major exclaimed. "I will not destroy such a fine work of art for the sake of some escape plan!" the unicorn stallion proclaimed indignantly, before his gaze turned to another nearby sculpture. "Now this, on the other hoof…" he said as he suddenly grabbed the sculpture with his hooves, using his physical strength, rather than his magic, to lift it up. "I never did care for this so-called 'artist's' works!" And with a mighty grunt, the Major heaved the sculpture out of the window, where it landed in the streets of Canterlot and shattered into many pieces. "Shazam!" Muffin Top exclaimed while the Major quickly exchanged words with Neame, "I'm afraid I will have to stay behind for now, Miss Neferset, my duties as an officer of the Royal Equestrian Army come first and I cannot go galloping around Equestria looking for some lost ruins. However, if you ever happen upon these ruins, send me a letter letting me know of their location and I shall make haste to assist you on your expedition to this lost city of yours." the Major said, slipping Neame a small card with his mailing address written on it before setting one of his large hooves on the shoulder of the griffoness. "Now, take flight, Miss Neferset, embrace your newfound freedom!" he said in an impassioned voice before turning back to Muffin. "And as for you, I must apologize for what I am about to do…" the Major said as he slowly walked towards Muffin with a stern look on his face which made. "Wh-Why? Wh-Wh-What are you gonna do?" the earth pony said, backing up against a wall as the Major approached him. Muffin swallowed nervously as the Major's eyes locked with his own, unsure of what was going on in large stallion's mind. Then, to his surprise, the Major suddenly turned away from him and called out, "Security! This ruffian just threw a priceless sculpture out of this window!" "Wh-What!?" Muffin exclaimed with a confused look on his face. "Again, I apologize," the Major whispered to Muffin, "but as a military officer and a member of the Stronghoof family, I cannot risk having something like 'art vandalism' on my record. I hope you understand." the Major said with a grin that almost seemed to make his complexion sparkle. At that moment, the security ponies rounded the corner. "I would suggest running now." At first Muffin was unsure of what to do, he had essentially been trapped in a situation where he had now choice to comply. "Aw schucks!" he exclaimed as he broke out into full gallop out of the sculpture room and into the hallways of the art gallery. "There he is, after him!" one of the ponies shouted as a he and three other security ponies pursued the fleeing earth pony
  14. Muffin regarded the griffon with sympathetic eyes, he was beginning to see just how important this all was to her. At the same time, however, it was difficult not to acknowledge the obstacles before them right here and now. "Somethin' tells me that this Picture Frame pony won't budge that easily, m'am." Muffin said, looking over at the earth pony mare. "Besides, someplace like that has to be mighty dangerous don'tcha think? And I know I look strong, but I don't think I'd do much if we came across some big monster or somethin'." "Leave that to me!" exclaimed a loud booming voice, and at that moment the large unicorn stallion emerged from behind his rock sculpture hiding place, standing tall and proudly over the other ponies and griffon. Muffin stumbled backwards letting out a yelp, greatly startled by the sudden emergence of the Major. "Good Celestia! You nearly scared my cutiemark right off me mister!" he said as he looked over the rather imposing stallion standing before him. "I apologize for the intrusion. I am Major Stronghoof of the Royal Equestrian Army. It's an privelage and an honor to meet you, Miss Neferset." the Major said, extending his hoof in greeting to her. "Again, I apologize, but when I the three of you when I saw you sneak away into this room, curiosity got the best of me and I could not help but follow. I have heard the entire conversation regarding Miss Neferset's plight, and I think I might be able to help. That is, if you would allow it." the Major said, looking at Neame with a determined look on his face.
  15. Muffin was taken by surprise as Timid hugged him, it had been the first time he'd been hugged by anyone other than his own mother, and the fact that it was a young colt hugging him made him feel a bit awkward. "Aw schucks lil fella, it's no big deal." Muffin said, smiling nervously, although this soon changed to a genuine smile when he notice Shooting Star giving Timid a hug as well. He then watched as shooting star went off to get some milk for the three of them "So you said you had a dog?" Muffin said, trying to strike up conversation again with Timid. "Hope the lil' guy isn't feelin' too lonely back in Canterlot without ya. I always wanted a dog myself, but Ma said no, said I had too much work to do around the farm to be worryin' but a dog." he said with a sigh before noticing Shooting Star coming back with three glasses of milk. "Oh, thanks Shootin' Star!" Muffin said as he took a glass in both hooves setting it on a nearby table as he began sipping from it. "Golly, that Miss Pinkie sure is bein' generous to us all. I s'pose I should probably think of buyin' somethin' to repay her kindness…" Muffin said, looking around at the various sweets on display in the shop.
  16. Already mentioned this in IRC but I'll put it here just for the record: The Changeling hive should be in Saggalong Swamps and Dragon Mountain should be closer to Ponyville.
  17. Muffin wasn't sure why Neame would want to talk to him all of a sudden, he'd only came by out of curiosity, and indeed he did look out of place among all these upper-class ponies. But in the short time that he'd known Neame, he knew well enough to know that it was best to just go along with whatever she was doing and not question it. Meanwhile, as all the other ponies gathered around simply dispersed and went back about their business Major Stronghoof observed the griffon and the two ponies stowing away into the next room. "Hmm… Most suspicious behavior." he said to himself. Muffin stumbled into the next room with Neame and the other earth pony, regarding the unusual sculpture around him with somewhat of a dumbfounded look. As Muffin listened to her words, however, he began to understand why he brought him along: Her dreams seemed to be getting to her more and more right now, and at the moment, he was the only thing close enough to a friend to hear her out about this. But he couldn't help but get a bit nervous at Cutlass's words. "Well now hold on just a rock-pickin' second here." Muffin interjected. "I'd like to know more about these ruins in Neame's paintins just as much as anypony, but she's said that she doesn't even know where they are. And I've been on the road long enough to know that goin' out on some wild cockatrice chase is liable to eat up a lot o' time and money." Muffin said, with much concern apparent in his voice. Meanwhile, the Major stood just behind a rather large sculpture eavesdropping on the their conversation.

  19. Oh not much. Actually lately I've been kinda... Ohhh, you meant that Muffin. My bad!
  20. "Say, that's a good idea." Muffin said nodding in agreement Shooting Star's suggestion. "I don't really see much magic either, so I'd love to see some up close. Doesn't have to be anythin' too fancy though." he said in an encouraging tone to the young colt, happy to see that he seemed a bit more confident now. Muffin then watched along with Shooting Star as Timid began to work his magic, lifting a party popper with his magical energy and levitating it over to himself. "Well I'll be, that sure is somethin!" the earth pony said, legitimately impressed by the very basic magic that as being shown before him. He continued to watch, however, when Timid said that there was more. The country pony had never seen a party popper before, so he wasn't exactly sure what to expect. Because of this, when the party popper did go off, Muffin jumped into the air, thoroughly startled by the foreign object. After his initial shock passed, however, his usual smile came back to his face. "Well suprise, surprise, surprise! That was amazin', Timid!" Muffin said as he trotted up to the young colt. "Did you make all those colorful bits of paper appear too?" he asked while peaking one eye into the now-empty party popper, still not quite grasping the nature of the object.
  21. Just noticed that there is now an award for reporting posts. Now everypony's gonna find an excuse to use it!
  22. "Thank ya, sir!" Muffin said, giving the older pony a grateful smile. He regarded the amber liquid in the glass before him with some curiosity, sniffing at it a bit as he did so. Eventually, Muffin pushed the glass towards him with his hoof, tipping it over into his mouth as he downed a bit of the liquor from the glass, his eyes widening at the taste. "Whew, that sure is a fancy tastin' drink!" he said, looking over to Strife then Dagger as if to see their reaction. "Ain't quite as strong my ma's brew, but it ain't half bad neither!" Muffin downed the rest of the contents of the glass, then looked over back at Hops, "Hey Mr. Hops, whattya call this drink anyway? Oh, and do ya think I could get another?" [OOC: Sorry for the wait on this post! I hadn't even noticed that it was my turn yet. Hope this doesn't kill the thread.]
  23. Major Stronghoof listened intently to Neame's answer to his question, hanging on her every word. Had he been in a less formal setting, he would've showered her with praise for such a elegant answer to his question in his usual boisterous manner. For now, he simply kept to himself, instead acknowledging her well-thought-out answer with an approving nod. After Neame had finished answering her question, an emerald green earth pony wandered into the back of the crowd, trying hard not to draw too much attention to himself. The pony was Muffin Top, a wandering stallion that Neame had met by chance just the a couple days prior. Although art and high society were not something that the simple-minded earth pony found himself drawn to, as was evidenced by his rough and somewhat unkept appearance, his meeting with the griffon artist had left a bit of an impression on him. So when he'd heard that she was doing a question and answer session for her newest painting, he decided that he would go peak in on the session and maybe learn a bit more. Although he didn't intend on asking any questions himself, for fear of asking something that may sound silly to these upper-class ponies.
  24. Muffin gave a smile to the blue pegasus as he replied. "Name's Muffin Top, nice to meetcha, m'am!" the earth pony said as his attention turned back to Timid, who finally seemed to be opening up a bit. "Oh, so yer from Canterlot, huh? And yer studyin' magic? Well that sounds right grand now, don't it?" he said, turning to Shooting Star and giving her a friendly nudge with his knee. "Never seen much magic myself growin' up on the farm, but it sure does seem interestin! Er... but wait..." Muffin stopped himself as if he'd just realized something important. "You said yer from Canterlot? Well that's pretty far from here lil' fella, you didn't come all the way here on your own, didja?" Muffin asked, almost seeming a bit worried for the colt.
  25. Having come from a high-class upbringing, it was not at all unusual to see Major Stronghoof at a gathering such as this. The large unicorn stallion always had an eye for things that were beautiful, and could often be seen at art auctions purchasing such paintings (although his taste in "beauty" could be regarded as somewhat questionable at times). Today he had been drawn by the crowd in the gallery to a Q&A session for a young griffon artist. Although the Major didn't usually take interest in landscape paintings, he did have to admit that the locale depicted in this particular painting was quite exotic and unique. Dressed in his formal military attire and sticking out like a sore hoof in the audience with his massive build and height, the Major raised his hoof up as high as he could. "Young lady, in my military career I have been to all parts of Equestria, and have even journeyed beyond its borders on occasion. I have seen my share of grand ruins from fallen civilizations during these travels as well… But I must say that I have never seen anything resembling what you have depicted here in this remarkable painting of yours. I am curious as to just where you might have seen these magnificent structures." the Major said in his usual verbose manner of speaking.
