I put this as one of the reasons I like the show in the recent survey that was posted! Also the end of Elements of harmony when Twilight has seen the elements destroyed but hears the others coming. I am suck at embedding but if you watch episode 2, series one (Elements of harmony) you will see why Twilight had such trouble finding the Elements book. After Pinkie's 'It was under Eeeee!' part, you see Twilight drawing the book from the shelf towards the mane 6 in the background... The spine is towards the camera, meaning it was in the bookshelf spine first. How did Pinkie realise which book it was from looking at a bunch of closed pages though?

Physique: Fairly average build with slender legs Cutie Mark: yellow lightning bolt Origin/Residence: Canterlot Occupation: Student/trainee Motivation: Fascination. Curiosity finds the world extremely interesting, although it can be to his detriment due to lack of focus and attention. Likes: (optional) Electricity and how it is generated, (Hydro, windmills, magical, clouds...), machinery, small animals, soups and stews, Dislikes: (optional) Being on his own, bad smells, things that taste too sweet (with the exception of sweet, sweet cider) Character Summary: Curiosity was born in Canterlot and lives there still, however he has moved around an awful lot in the past. His mother performs research for and occasionally lectures at the school for gifted unicorns specialising in historical spell adaptation/evolution (To clarify, she is a historian before a magic wielder). His father's interests intersect as he works at the Canterlot library, ensuring there are at least two copies of texts in existence in case of mishap. Their work has taken them both, as a couple and individuals, across Equestria and little Curiosity usually accompanied them. While his young life was often spent moving around and finding out new things, his early schooling was quite sporadic and as he finds it hard to focus he was always fairly middling in classes. He worries a little that his parents are disappointed he is not a greater academic achiever although they seem happy enough. The seeds of his interest may have been planted during a school presentation by pegasi from the Cloudsdale weather factory. After seeing a spectacular cloud bucking session he became fascinated with the lightning that was made. He chattered on about it to his friends and teacher, then his parents upon returning home. This was natural for him at the time though and it wasn't until his parents realised that he was still (mostly) focused on it after a few months that they arranged for him to see some other ponies involved with electricity. He visited the Celestia school and spoke to some of the teachers about magical electricity and lightning but his lack of attention got in the way again and as interesting as the talks were he kept changing the subject and circling round to lightning whereas the teachers were focussing on the magic and formulae behind it. His cutie mark actually came when he was at a wind farm and the discussion turned to the turbines attached to the windmills. He enjoyed, and was good at, following the circuits and seeing how ponies would use electricity in times of plenty and when there was little or no wind. He didn't come up with any revolutionary ideas, he was a little pony after all, but some of the technicians spoke to his parents about the questions he asked and the ease with which he followed the answers. It is not simply electricity that interests him but the application, what happens to it afterwards. The pegasi were focussing on it as a hazard and something to be careful of. The teachers were specialising on the how and why. Curiosity is also interested in the 'what if?' The biggest flaw he has is undoubtedly lack of attention. He finds it all too easy to touch on subjects and interests rather than following through. He seems to be improving since he gained his cutie mark but it could cause problems for him again. Curiosity is happy-go-lucky and a bit flighty, tending to find delight rather than humour in things. He speaks quickly, often without thinking and his speech will often follow his attention which can be awkward for listeners to follow. (Further clarification of his usage of electricity. Not trying to sneak a lightning bolt or taser through. He is limited to powering small things or pranks, think Ranbow dash lightning prank, or Ditzy Doo at the start of the last Round up. Hello to other new pony! Looking forward to seeing everypony around!

So many threads.... So much yay... I don't know what to do with myself so I'm learning my way around Equestria for a bit and taking in some of the characters. Some further information that I fluffed on my first post. When it comes to films and literature I tend to go for SF and fantasy. I like new ideas and twists on things, new ideas about civilisations and how people and society's respond to things. Some examples, I really enjoy Shadowrun due to the backstory, build up and responses to magic and fantastical creatures as well as integration of them and advancing technology. I liked the way magic and interestingly money is handled in the novel 'Name of the Wind', it just seemed such a natural evolution of currency... I also really enjoy silly so have been hammering childrens films lately (Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, Toy storys, Wall-E etc), I tend to listen to Weird Al a lot too. Add ponies to all of the above naturally.
