    Never

I just read Never. And cried. It's a beautiful story about Celestia, but OMG it's sad! Now I need to go find some essence of Pinkie Pie to get at least a little happy back.
  2. Either of the other big bads we've had could easily work into this as well. Discord could simply turn her by force. And if he were to escape imagine the chaos Nightmare Moon would cause. Not to mention giving the Mane 6 a much more imminent threat, leaving him to run amok. Chrysalis could simply take her place. Not as a power grab, but out of revenge. She wouldn't even have to imprison her. Just make sure not to be in the same place. Let suspicion take root as Luna seems to switch between personalities at random. Or better yet, show up while Luna is away and work to drive a wedge in Equestria and Luna returns for the last confrontation. And now I can't stop.....
  3. A lot of shows in prime time have gone to a 2- 1/2 seasons format. (a block of new episodes with a large gap in the middle filled with a second act to end the season) Maybe they are doing this. It would be a no lose plan. Make a full season if the fan base stays rabid. Scale production values et. all back if things start to drop off. Spread the cost out over the season instead of banking it all up front. It also allows them to respond faster to fan elements. See how we react to elements in the first half of the season and then put in more of what worked, dump what didn't in the 2nd half. Add in cameos of the BG ponies that everypony likes. Ability to make things more "topical." Maybe this is a good plan and not the end of days.
  4. Heck, here in Illinois I have yet to see any that aren't wave 1.
  5. I am working on the final draft of my first novel, and the first draft of the 2nd book in the series. I hope to submit #1 to publishers this year. If I can't get it done the regular way I will self publish in ebook format, but that's a failsafe plan. I have ideas for at least 3 other fantasy books brewing as well. SOMETHING I write will be published!
  6. Well that's getting installed today! >I've had it going for a while now. Works fine. I may have to go to a whitelist setting instead of blacklist. I like having my pony sites ponified and FaceBook is funny with everypony apparently using ponyspeak. But it makes reading the news just plain strange.<
  7. Mine's under my avatar. Hobby blacksmith here. That's been more constant than most things for me anymore.
  8. For whatever reason I always find myself interested in things on the fringe. I'm into historical reenactment, (which at least I have a good base for local activity and involvement there) and D&D (which is at least more socially acceptable now than it was when I started over 20 years ago *sigh* 20 years ago....). But I also was drawn to Paganism, generally, and Wicca in particular, for a while. Now I find myself more of a Secular Humanist. But this is in an area, which as I've observed before, is known for the 200 ft tall cross by the interstate. So not exactly good hunting on the social interaction there. And now I'm part of an awesome fanbase for an awesome show. But isolated locally in that. I know of one other Brony in my reenactment group, but she lives hours away. (and I think I may have somehow upset her now) And I hesitate to be too open about it socially since a lot of the people I know are somewhat uber-macho. (A dear friend and neighbor is an ex-military, prison guard, and top level armored fighter. And has a personality type to fit the history.) The internet is awesome, and helps a lot, but for those of us that are not in metro areas with the possibility of meeting others with these shared interests: How do you cope? It gets a bit depressing to be alone in ones enthusiasm sometimes. One a unrelated side note: I am going to donate soon. As part of that I think I want to change my username to something more ponified. I'm using the name I chose in the SCA now, but I'm blank on what a good option would be.
  9. SQUEEEEEE!!!!!!! I will be getting this. I like the art (even if I do think I like Katie's overall style better) and am hugely glad that the folks involved are fans in their own right. While I think some of the more adult leaning stuff Andy does is funny I hope that doesn't leak too much into the comic. The innocent, sweet nature of the show is one of its biggest draws for me. I don't know if I could reconcile overly "grown-up" stuff.
  10. I've read a couple of articles on this here, and here. I agree that BBBFF has a familiar feel, but that doesn't harm it for me. Anymore there are so many artists that make entire albums that are basically the same song with different lyrics over and over <cough>Nickleback<cough> that you kinda have to accept it some if you are going to listen to the radio at all.
  11. I have a Twilight background and have the mobile desktop ponies on it. Though I don't run that often. It's a bit buggy. I also have the theme song set as my alarm. Nice way to wake from a nap. I need to get more sounds.
  12. So Rainbow could be collecting wild "free range, cage free" clouds from over the forest. I think it is reasonable to entertain the notion that Celestia is a benevolent dictator. Just because someone is a "dictator" and holds absolute political power doesn't mean they are always a tyrant or oppressive despot. Technically anyone who holds absolute authority in a non-hereditary (read monarchy) is a dictator, be they a good or bad ruler. Although I suppose her Princess status, if indicative of a hereditary succession, would simply make her a monarch not a dictator. History has seen some dictator style regimes that were benevolent and good for the people, at least for the most part. I won't cite examples for fear of my bad memory....
  13. While I didn't make the Con, my family goes to a massive event every summer as part of our reenactment lives. It's a 2 week thing, though sometimes we only go for 1 week of it. (like this year ) Whenever we get home and are stuck back in everyday life after so much immersion it is always a bit depressing. Everything feels kinda.... flat for a while. I can only imagine that going home after running with the Bronies would have a similar effect.
  14. I went to the closest Target and was vary, very, very sadly dissapointed in the MLP offering. And would it hurt someone, ANYONE, to sell a Celestia that wasn't pink? Really.
  15. Som where is this project? Is it something anyone can log into and see? I'd love to explore that world.
  16. Thanks for the copying idea! As for using my own style, I'm a purist type. Not using correct colors would cause the cosmos to implode. At least in my head.
  17. I debated posting this in Tech, but I think it's a more general thing. I have the desktop ponies on my PC and a version of them on my phone. When I load them, I know this is silly, I always do at least 2 because in my mind I don't want them to be lonly. For a while I had a goldfish on my computer that looked like a real goldfish. It needed fed every day, it learned when and where you usually fed it. In general it was like a real fish. I felt bad if I missed a feeding, even. And I'm even a tech that works on, and programs, automation equipment/robots for a living. I've heard of people getting attached to their Rumbas and such so I know this is a "real thing." Anyone else have programs like the ponies that they inflect emotions upon? I mean where is that line? If it is programmed to act just like a fish (and I just read an article about how fishing isn't cruel because their nervous system isn't complicated enough to fully process pain) so does it "feel" like a fish? Aren't our feelings akin to programmed responses?
  18. So my wife got this for me at the store today. While it's a kiddie coloring book it's neat. Now I'm trying to decide if it would be ridiculous of me to actually color some of it. Every once in a while I have an impulse to "save" something as original, but in general I am the type of person that wants thing to use them. I never hesitated to get my Fluttershy and Twilight figures out of their boxes. But where would I get crayons the right colors!?
  19. I usually don't collect a lot of stuff but MUST HAVE!!!
  20. I debated posting this in the BronyCon thread but my post isn't about the con, but an article about the con. Is that getting meta? Anyhow, I just read an article on Yahoo that I thought was very positive. It focused on how wrong many of the misconceptions about Bronies are, backing it up with quotes from Faust and others. http://news.yahoo.com/guys-little-pony-gather-bronycon-160957992.html
  21. 19. It lets you see how you rank for your demographic, too.
  22. I looked for a thread mentioning this and came up blank. I want to buy the seasons on iTunes (SD versions) but I have a serious bandwidth limit now. Can anyone tell me what the file size is on these? If anyone has bought these; Since I am sure it is over my limit for a whole season, How long will iTunes allow me to "stall" a download before it is an issue? I would buy episodes, but then I'd be paying $25 extra for them.
  23. Just over a year. I forget exactly when it was I stumbled into it, but I caught up with episodes in S-1, but just right at the end of the season. The horror! For some reason this time around seems so much longer. Maybe it was because I didn't get the concentrated dose right till the end. But I didn't get "involved" until a few months ago. I watched the episodes and liked the memes but that was it. Now I'm cosuming more fan fics and OC. But that my be partially due to a lack of pony time at the moment. I need more ponies!!!!
