  1. Finals are over and the semester's finished. Problem is, I don't have a lot of free time at all during the summer, and I won't be online much. Looks like I'll be pretty much completely inactive til the end of August. Sorry.
  2. Finally updated. It's getting close to finals and I've had trouble focusing long enough to come up with something. His parents are vaguely defined mostly because I don't really plan on using them much. Mostly just to give Crimson a convenient (if embarrassing) way to exit a scene when dinner/bed time rolls around. That said, feel free to make them into fully fledged characters.
  3. Oooooh, too tired to sleep. I hate that feeling. On the other hand, I'm a natural night owl, I do all my best writing at 3AM and I may have insomnia, so I stay up ridiculously late all the time. As for funny stories, well other than the usual symptoms, sleep deprivation has kind of a weird side effect on me. When I'm tired I notice that I start to use bigger words, I start monologuing in my head (and sometime out loud), and every now and then I catch myself plotting to take over the world.
  4. I changed his back story a bit to make his motivation a little better. I hope everything's okay (it's kid of late here, I'm not entirely sure how clear I'm thinking). Also, I should probably mention that Crimson Thunder is the name of a Hammerfall song that I shamelessly stole.
  5. I added a little more detail to the original post. I'm not sure if the comic books are okay or not, though.
  6. [ Pony Related Character ] Name: Crimson Thunder (real name Nimble Bolt) Gender: Male Age: Colt Species: Pegasus Pelt Color: light brown Mane/Tail Color & Style: spiky, bright red/orange Eye Color: green Cutie Mark: A bright red lightning bolt and a grey storm cloud (He tries to keep it covered so as not to give away his 'secret identity'.) Physique: Average Residence: Ponyville Occupation: Student / Masked Vigilante Motivation: Truth, Justice, and the Equestrian Way. Likes: Protecting the innocent, over-dramatic monologues, comic books Dislikes: Homework, 'injustice,' bullies, being treated like a foal, bed time Character Summary: Nimble suffers from a bad case of Chronic Hero Syndrome brought on by his other favorite past-time: comic books. He's always adored super heroes and wanted to be one himself. Unfortunately, this being Equestria, crime is almost nonexistent. Undeterred, he had his mom make him a bright red cape and mask. So now, when injustice reigns, when the innocent cry out, or when he just doesn't feel like doing his homework, mild-mannered Nimble Bolt dons his cape and mask and becomes Crimson Thunder! Protector of truth, justice, and the Equestrian Way! (No, he doesn't really know what 'the Equestrian Way' means; he just thinks it sounds cool). Like many young ponies without a cutie mark, he was picked on by the ones who already had them. For the most part, he would just ignore them and go back to his comic books and fantasies. The bullies made a mistake, though, when they decided to pick on his friend (don't know who yet, I'll need to ask around) while he was him nearby. Quick as a flash, he ducked into the nearest hiding place (which happened to be Dr Whooves' surprisingly roomy shed) and emerged for the first time as Crimson Thunder! One dramatic entrance and an even more dramatic monologue was more than enough to scare the bullies away. When he removed his cape later, he noticed that his cutie mark had appeared, symbolizing his desire to bring swift justice to the oppressors of the innocent. Other than that day, Crimson's record is pretty bare. While he's extremely enthusiastic, he's still growing into his hooves and has a tendency to trip over himself at the absolute worst (and most embarrassing) moments. He can fly a little, but he's not very good at it yet and he tires quickly. He lives in Ponyville with his mother, a unicorn who works as a seamstress. (Totally canon.) His father works in the weather factory in Cloudsdale and commutes from home.
  7. If this doesn't turn out to be the pony version of Dr. Insano, I'll be very disappointed.
  8. Already pretty much overanalyzed to death by TVTropes. Basically the conclusion they came to is that it was more of a Batman gambit. The difference can be pretty subtle though. Anyway, yeah, it makes quite a bit of sense.
  9. Wow, that was the second most epic pie fight I've ever seen!
  10. Awesome! Please tell me there'll be a team up with Ziggy DiamondDust.
  11. Ohhh, this isn't good. Mast3rlinkx's channel got taken down today due to from Hasbro. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm getting a very bad feeling about this. On the other hand, this may be an indication that there is a season 1 DVD in the works (please let it be so).
  12. I hang around the Escapist forums a lot, That Guy With the Glasses, Envy (text-based MMO), Rooster Teeth, Achievement Hunter, Fillydelphia (Ashi's blog, I believe), and probably more webcomics than is healthy.
  13. I don't know about an army, but during the title song you can see (blink and you'll miss it) that Celestia also has at least 2 unicorns as guards in her throne room. I think you're fine.
  14. The best part? Read the comments. Every single one of them is a fan of the show. Kathleen really should have picked a different target. Or, you know, actually watched the show.
  15. Maybe you could try something like this?

    Listen.

I don't see what the problem is. There's nothing wrong with his signaALL GLORY TO THE HYPNO-PONY!
  17. So you're a Blue soldier and a Jedi Knight? Awesome.
  18. Of the big 6, Rarity is my least favorite. But, and this is important, I do like her. I think a large part of the reason she's not higher on my list is linger hatred for anything even tangentially related to the fashion industry. When I actually think about it, other than the odd selfish moment, I can't really find anything about her I don't like. Other characters, Gilda. She made Fluttershy cry. She deserves much worse than she got.
  19. Probably small creeks and streams, especially in the woods.
  20. I would take baths, but my dorm only has a shower. Luckily, the hot water lasts a while, so I can take long showers, which is almost as good.
  21. I heard from a few places (namely Shortpacked and El Goonish Shive) that it was pretty good, but wasn't really interested. I was just curious enough to check out when I heard about it, and it was awesome enough that I had to learn more. One episode binge later, and I can't stop thinking ponies. Or smiling. It's a little creepy to tell the truth.BTW, 20 year old male college student here.
