  1. What is your Steam name? Just like everywhere else on the internet I go by Kryptchild. Occasionally on Killing Floor I'll go with "Whitemage is Best Pony" while I'm running medic, or "Pinkie Pie is Best Tau" on Dawn of War II. What game do you play the most via Steam? Team Fortress 2, Killing Floor, Dawn of War II Last Stand, G-mod, Civilization V, and I also have Alien Swarm and Section 8, but no-one plays those. If anyone DOES want to play them, I'm game. What is your favorite game? Killing Floor and TF2 are tops. Do you have a group? No groups yet. Or at least none that I'm a part of. I've been invited to groups before, but they were blind invites. Do you "play on Mac" or Windows? LOL wut
  2. And everything went better than expected... Glad your parents were understanding. Parents usually are, even if they come off as pretty harsh at first. I'm probably even more glad to see just how fast we rallied to show our support. Anyway, have fun at Bronycon Thoth and company. I wish I could go but I have classes through the summer that I can't miss. Perhaps I can make it to the one next January.
  3. From the album: Pharm Party

Updated my icon with my more recent art style. This one took me like half an hour... jeeze Pharm is so bland.
  4. It's all a matter of personal preference really. Everyone has toleration levels and yeah I've seen people take it pretty far. I will admit that I do love my ponified FFVI though... but yeah, everyone has a limit. Just don't try and make your personal limit apply to the entire fandom is my advice. There are things I'd hate to see ponified and things I bounce up and down in joy when I see ponified. Heck, my WEB BROWSER has a program option installed where I can replace words with pony variations if the mood strikes me. Moderation and personal threshold.
  5. Dear Thoth's family I respect your skepticism and zeal to protect your son from something you fear to be harmful. It's a parent's sworn duty to their child to keep them safe and nurtured until they're able to leave the nest and make the best of their own lives. But I ask you, before you place your stamp of disapproval you consider not only what your son has found his interest in... but why he is interested in it to begin with. As for myself... Our fandom is unique and overtly strange, I can not deny that. Before actually watching the show for myself I was convinced Bronies were a bunch of crazed basement dwelling furry neckberads (no offense to you folks with neck hair). Having grown up in the 90s and so on I, like my peers have been spoon fed the cynicism, comedic racism, and down right slanderous nature of our modern media. It's gotten to the point where news networks are doing more name calling then actual reporting... and it had it's effect on me. I used to be a pretty cynical jerk with no real goal in life and a disdain for my fellow man. I'd tell people off, laugh at strangers less fortunate than me, and was unmotivated to do anything with my life. The purely positive attitude the show projects sucked the modern venom right out of me, and I've learned a bit from each character. Pinkie Pie reminded me that there's always something to smile about. Rarity taught me that offering aid to others helps not just them, but everyone around you. Applejack showed me that you can take pride in your work, and that it pays to commit. Rainbow Dash is a constant reminder that giving up is not an option, and taking naps once in a while really helps the metabolism. Fluttershy softened my tongue and helped me become much more civil and soft spoken, and I've made a lot more friends outside the fandom because of it. And Twilight Sparkle gave me the motivation I needed to buckle down and pursue a goal in life, instead of just list through it. Now I'm in trade school to be a massage therapist, from there I'll be moving on to get training in physical therapy and EMT training so I can have a versatile career field in helping others. I've donated to charity (something I've NEVER done before) and I've taken up a childhood passion of mine: drawing. I'm still pretty much a novice, but I'm dedicated and I draw for both my own enjoyment and for the enjoyment of others. So label me how you will, I'll think no less of you for your decision. You're just protecting your son, after all. I just hope that your heart and mind are open enough to hear our rally for a stranger... a friend... a brother. Yours Truely ~Kryptchild
  6. Avatars may be delayed a few days due to life. A friend of mine is in town for about nine more days before shipping off to Hawaii for three years (marines). I likely won't be able to effectively use my tablet until this weekend as a combination of classes, booze, and energy drink fueled debotchery will have me zombified until Saturday. I may have free time Thursday, but that's a big maybe. I'll still lurk the forums till then, and request slots are still open. But I'm definately setting aside this weekend for art stuff. I wana do a few more avatars, work on that secret project thing I said I'd do, make my corrections to that collaborative drawing, and get a few posts on Pharms blog which I've been neglecting. Gosh I'm good at making myself busy...
  7. Inkscape huh? I'll have to look into that later today when I have time. Sai has been good to me so far, and I think I'm getting used to using it. I've pretty much been exclusively using the Brush and eraser tool for all of my work. The layer system for Sai is pretty well organized, I usually end up with like 40 some layers by the time I'm done with small projects.
  8. Veggie55 over on DA is an irish brony. Also if you're short on bronies in your area, just make some! That's what I do, granted I don't have a whole lot of friends to begin with and they're pretty loyal.
  9. I have all the MLP songs on my MP3 player, I play Smile Smile Smile pretty much every morning as I get ready for my day. It's like the perfect anti-depressant! Best. Song. Ever. This day Aria is pretty freaking sweet too, not as good but it's awesome. I use winter wrapup when I clean.

Snowy was pretty camera shy, so it took me a little more time to get her comfortable enough to pose for a shot. I think there's a mathematical equation somewhere that explains the correlation betwee eye size with cuteness level. This Snowy Dash avatar is for user Snowy, if you're not Snowy then don't use it! If you have want one so badly, drop me a request with a reference image or two.

Unless people want me to just get on with the rest of the mane six.
  12. So I just went and downloaded GIMP and I have NO idea what I'm doing or how it works yet. Anyone else use gimp that'd be willing to offer some pointers? I've been using Paint tool Sai so far, what are the pros/cons in comparison between the two programs? is there a polygon tool in Gimp? Oh sweet Celestia I hope there is, I wana do some vecter art and gifs. So yeah, lets use this thread to talk about our experiances with our preferred art programs, give advice to others, and kick around ideas for what programs to use for what art styles etcetera.
  13. Guh... this is why I ask for colored references guys. Anyway hair color is an easy change on this guy, I'll make the correction ether before or after my movie... Also... "See ya at seven ^_~" ????? Da feather are you talking about? Recoloring the outlines for his hair would have taken hours... I think yellow/grey works decent enough. You choose which one you use Sketch.
  14. Long strokes and a LOT of erasing/undoing
  15. Here are the next few in the lineup: - Snowy Dash for user Snowy - Free Rainbow Dash icon - 'Yet to be named pony' for user Quicklime - Empty Slot - Empty Slot - Maybe empty slot - Free Pinkie Pie or Applejack icon
  16. From the album: Pharm Party

Back legs have been giving me some serious trouble lately.,,, Why must something so simple be so complicated?!?!?! GAAAAAAHHH! I've got like, four tutorial images on back legs alone, and I still mess them up! I mean just LOOK at those! Pharm would strangle me for drawing him with those misshapen thighs... I'm going to bed.

Sorry Kalpira, we were ready for the shoot when a group of Parasprites landed on the set. I managed to snap a picture before Carousel panicked and ran off. This is an avatar for user Kalpera. If you're not Kalpera, then don't use it! If you want an avatar, just drop me a request with references.

One more request to do before I make the Rainbow Dash icon, then there will be an opening for three to four more requests before I make ether AJ or Pinkie.
  19. ...Really? ...No-one has made the joke yet? *sigh* ahem... FULL MOON OUT TONIGHT! Okay, now that that's out of the way, freaking amazing. Kinda knocks my own art down several peggs, but that's just motivation to get better! That background must have taken a while to get right, great job!

Sketch Knight is a pretty smooth talker... I think he talked me into dinner on Monday... Anyway have his photo! Ugh, this is the LAST time I do a 2/5 face view away from the camera... for a while. You would not BELIEVE the trouble that damn eye gave me. I spent like 15 minutes erasing and re-drawing it. The rose was kinda fun to draw though. This is an avatar for user SketchKnight. If you aren't SketchKnight, don't use it! If you really want an avatar, drop me a request with references!

  22. You should totally do one of Pharm Party. Reference images all over my gallery, the blog linked in my signature, and here: (Commissioned from Jitterbug Jive, I did not draw this one.) Also if you're able too, can you make it look like he's getting sick or not enjoying the ride? Pharm doesn't like to spin.
  23. I'll do my best. Rainbow Dash is the next of the main six on the list, She'll be followed by Pinkie or AJ. I generally do two or three requests between each cast member to prevent burnout/brain cramps. You can ether wait for the Dash icon, or send me a few reference pictures of your OC. I'll be honest, the more reference materials I have, the better it'll turn out.

Who's got two thumbs and had an exclusive photo shoot with the one and only Rarity? I've got no idea, but I'm freaking jealous of them. She's like... the pony everypony should know! This Rarity avatar is free to use by anyone. Once again glasses are the best thing ever, and Rarity makes those rose daddy-o shades look sooooo smooth.
