  1. 1st one does sound a little... y'know. 2nd title sounds like a pirates of the Caribbean crossover. So I'll vote the third title too. Only thing is the plural of pony is ponies not ponys.
  2. Just saw this. Great idea! If I were you I'd put it in Free-for-all. More traffic. I would love to join this when you start it up, but I'm still a bit confused on the crew front. Are you saying we can't rp as the crew in general? Or just limiting the key characters in the crew? I don't imagine any of us wanting to team up is all.
  3. Silver Putter's expression contorted as his ball blew into a wisp of confetti. "What in Celestia's name did you do that for?!" He pointed his club threateningly at Silver Profit. "Prepare for a beat.." "No!" Four Iron shouted as he pushed the club down. "Calm down, sir. Remember what happened at the Diamond Dog Invitational." Silver Putter muttered something to himself quietly about bludgeoning faces before sighing loudly. "Fine. I'll try it by your rules." Silver Putter takes the slingshot and the ball. Pulling it back he placed the ball in the sling. "Here goes nothing." He fired the ball in the rough direction of the hole. The ball soared through the air with a loud whistle then smashed into a large tree, and slid up the trunk of the tree and deflected off of a branch and flew straight into Copper Coin's carpet where it bounced back off and crashed into the hole. "Bloody hell!" he shouted. "That was amazing! I mean... uh... maybe your methods have some merit."
  4. Silver Putter the Third sighed loudly at the chaos around him as he strode forwards and coughed loudly. Four Iron rushed to pull out a golf ball and a tee and place it in the ground at his feet. Putter cricked his neck. "Now let me show you how a real golfer plays," he said smarmily as he took a club from his caddy. He took a deep breath, wiggled his rump and took a swing. The ball flew through the air, bearing down on the hole, only to miss it by a hair breadths. He grunted loudly at his soured shot, but it was still very close to its target. "There we go." "Very nice shot, sir!" Four Iron said with a curt clap.
  5. Name: Alpine Ash Appearance: Average height at around around 5'11 with tidy black hair and piercing green eyes that are covered by his silver glasses. He wears a plain white shirt and tatty blue jeans along with off-white trainers. He also wears number of coloured bands on his wrist signifying multiple charity organisations. He sometimes wears a green army style jacket along with an assortments pins on it signifying yet more charities. Personality: A staunch vegan and very anti-industry. He consistently fights for animal rights, and can be found spending a lot of his spare time planning campaigns and making signs. Has a strong creative side, but is extremely opposed to the idea of commercialisation. He loves to paint, and his paintings almost always carry a message. He is friendly to all initially, but once he gets a read of a person he can change. Hates anyone with an industrial background, particularly the rich kids who've profited off of it. He also harbours a slight grudge against the Princesses, as he believes that ponies should be able to rule themselves. Supports a ton of charities, and lives on a shoestring budget himself. Slight History: He was born to a fat-cat industrialist who had an illicit affair with his secretary. Consequently he and his mother were spirited away from the bustling industrial city of Manehattan and out into the small village of Solstice Heights. Alpine Ash grew up relatively sheltered, but spent a lot of time in the forests. His mother didn't have to work based on the welfare funds she was extorting out of his father. He grew to love the forest and would spend ages sketching the wildlife, playing with them and just enjoying the place. Then a logging company showed up, and the area that he had once loved was cut down in order to build a large estate for a government dignitary out in the country. A large portion of the forest was walled off, and Ash was angry. He rallied the townsfolk and pulled out all the stops, lobbying, petitions, leaflet campaigns, but it was all to no avail. The government dignitary was successful and Ash's mother realised that he was bound to cause more trouble there, so she sent him to Hoofington High. Everything he needs is paid for, but he makes a point of using as little as possible. Current Life: He still hates industry due to what they did to the forest, so he spends a lot of his time lobbying and petitioning to try and constrict their activities. He also defends animals rights wherever they are threatened. As such he spends most of his time working and planning, so he has little time for friends who don't share his beliefs. Part Time Job: Receives all the money he needs from his mother, who in turn gets it from his father. While technically not a job, he spends a lot of his time campaigning. House: Kindness
  6. (OOC: I suppose that would have been easier. Sorry. I have a habit of under-explaining things.) Wind Runner was still babbling as she felt herself lift off of the ground unwillingly. A firm punch to the shoulder snapped her out though. "Captain!" she shouted happily as she hugged him. She then quickly realised that she was hugging Sailstorm and leapt backwards. "Sorry," she said with a sheepish grin. She then suddenly looked sad again. "There were these crazy evil robed unicorns up at the temple who saw me even though I hid behind a cloud, and sent these evil spells after me, so I had to fly away really really fast, and it was so terrible! They were all evil! They might be guarding the temple! They looked tough, and they knew I was there!" she shouted quickly at the captain. She then noticed Allivia and repeated the message word for word in the same quick babble. Hauberk had his hooves back on board as he galloped to his somewhat delirious comrade. "Wind! Are you okay?" He shouted worriedly. Wind Runner turned to her sergeant with a relieved smile. "I'm fine. Thanks for asking, but I did get super scared and..." Wind started. Hauberk's smile vanished as his expression suddenly hardened, and he barked, "Status report!" Winds personality did changed completely as she saluted dutifully and said clearly and succinctly, "Sergeant! I spotted hostiles outside the temple!" "How many?" "I only saw four sir, but there may have been more." "Anything to note?" "All were unicorns sir, probably powerful spellcasters." "Very good, Private. How about the island itself?" "Thick jungle, sir!" "Anything else?" "Temple's on a cliff, sir! Possibly a volcano." "Very good, Private. Job well done. Now get on the boat and await further orders!" "Sir, yes, sir!" Wind saluted dutifully then trotted over to the boat. Hauberk turned to Alliva. "We'd better head out then, no point loitering. With luck we can be in and out by sunrise tomorrow." He then strode back into the boat. Mind's Eye nodded as they both sat down, and looked up to the Captain. "Have you got that map?
  7. Silver Putter cleared his throat loudly to get their attention. "So one wishes to play minigolf effectively? I should have know this was too good to be true. I for one, am out of here." Four Iron turned to his master. "Sir, it isn't often we get an opportunity like this. We can break anything! I implore you to reconsider." "No! This is minigolf, not proper golf. Come, Iron, you can take me back now." Four Iron changed tact, "But, sir, then they'd win." "They wouldn't win, I never took part." "You signed the agreement, sir." "No! NO! I never lose to second rates! I'm ready for whatever you've got! Bring it!"
  8. Tarragon across Ponyville market. Everything was always the same. The dark green earth pony loved nothing more than to try new flavours, and every stall stocked the same old time-tested products. Oh, how she yearned for the spice markets of Baltimare, if only somepony would bring something, anything interesting to these streets. Tarragon sometimes wondered if she was the only pony in town to grow herbs and spices, it certainly seemed that way on the market. If only it wasn't winter. There was never anything exciting in winter. Then she noticed something new... a new stall... manned by a new pony. The word "Mints!" painted across a sign. Yes... Mints. A strong and unique flavour. As long as they weren't as boring as Bon Bon's mints. Tarragon sometimes wondered if they were actually made with mint. Some mint in itself would be nice too if that was an option. She strode towards the cart to find another pony had beaten her to the chase. A queue would be worth it though if it got her some nice strong mints sooner. Yes she wondered if she'd have spearmints. Spearmint was a much more enjoyable flavour.
  9. I journey halfway across Equestria to face this bunch of idiots. I doubt any of them could even even play mini-golf. Silver Putter silently fumed. "There'd better be some sort of reward for winning," he said aloud, his anger lacing his voice.
  10. If you have any concerns at all about RPs I run/the way I rp anywhere else, please don't hesitate to PM me.

Nah, you're awesome. Have you made any Characters for the Mane boards yet?

I made one, but I wasn't thrilled with him, and am in the process of trying to create another one to replace him.

Good! Keep working! We need more awesome RP'ers like you in the mane boards. :)

  11. Attention! We will be cutting off the application process once we have accepted eighteen OCs. This will be on a first come, first served basis. We currently have sixteen OC's accepted, so if you were hesitant, now's the time to post. We're going to close afterwards. We may reopen this in the future though if people drop out, or if we decide to expand. There may also be the chance for guest appearances, so even if you don't get in, there are still opportunities. Good luck to anyone else who applies.
  12. You're safe, ShadowWalking18, we've suddenly hit another roadblock, but we'll start accepting apps very soon. Razor will go before a tribunal first.
  13. After much discussion between GMs, we have agreed to add Anthro as an option in the poll. If you want to change your mind, I think you can. Also we are now issuing houses ourselves. This helps keep this balanced, and encourages mixing. Once you've posted your app, we will tell you your house when accepted.
  14. I'm not certain. Never strayed from the Free-for-all, even though I have one character in the main. Will do some digging.
  15. Right. That might carry a few issues. Namely what if one character does not specialise in combat, and finds themselves underleveled? Perfectly possible in Equestria. Also another flaw is that that makes the world seem a bit unbalanced. Why not just scale levels, and designate Minion, Enemy, Boss style? You know with three or more designations as to how easy they'll be to beat?
  16. Hey. Big fan of this kind of rp. Adventure! Planning on making this 18+? Anyway, I'll weigh in here. I much prefer ponified rps, don't we have enough humans in real life? Adventure! I have a number of OC templates I can fall on for something like this. Adventure! Also I love rules and combat systems. I played a version of the idea in my own rp which worked moderately well, but all the players will have to be willing to understand and follow the rules. Adventure! Plus combat systems are awesome. If all fails, you can always fall back on the trusty D12. Adventure! Although, in a structured, rule-based game, I'd imagine multiple characters would be difficult to control.... Adventure!
  17. (OOC: Very good point on the word's thing. That was really silly of me. I was thinking like sonic pulses. Also Celestia of Equestria rhymes. ) Hauberk smiled. It was rare to see such commitment from one so young. Satisfied with her answer he gripped one of the oars and prepared to cast off. "Well then, Raven, stick by us and you'll do just fine." He turned to Mind's Eye just as the unicorn clambered onto the boat as well. He gave a nod which the blue unicorn returned in kind before sitting beside him. "Cap'n is right. If there is anything you want to do, now is the time to do it. Otherwise we'll cast off now." Mind's Eye eyed up the other two in the boat as he took his seat. Raven was one of those kids he'd have to protect. He hated it when kids were the mission. They almost always got them all into trouble. Allivia had proven herself more than capable, however. He actually looked forward to seeing her spells in play. "Last chance for an inspiring speech, Sergeant," Mind's said mockingly. Hauberk laughed back. "Were there need," he returned. A shriek then caught his attention. Wind Runner shot through the sky, her mind still buzzing as if full of bees. A pulse of sonic energy followed her until it caught sight of the boat, then it span around on it's axis, and returned back deep into the island. Wind's heart was pounding too loud for her to notice though, as she shot back to the boat and borderline crash landed onto deck. "Unicorns! Robes! Evil!" she shouted incoherently at the captain.
  18. Decanter smiled as he counted out 400 bits. He had expected a real hard sale, but the salespony had hardly negotiated. Still, no skin off of his nose. "There's your money, my good pony. If you get hold of any more curios like this that you want to sell, swing by the Ivory Cauldron. Alchemical components and reagents are always in demand there," he said warmly. He then took the cage by a hanging handle and trotted back into the market. If he was lucky he could still salvage that experiment if he can find some platinum.
  19. "Hah! You should all already know about me!" Putter said with an ironic laugh. "Any golfer worth his salt should. Four Iron, list of accomplishments, if you'd please," he said as he motioned to his caddy/ponyservant. Four Iron cleared his throat loudly and recited from memory, "Silver Putter the Third, son of Silver Putter the Second, is winner of twelve majors not just here in Equestria, but world wide. He has won the Master's tournament twice, as well as winning thrice a piece in both the Equestrian Open, and the Griffonian Open. This is all on top of the four wins he has in the PGA. This makes him the fourth most successful golfer in the world." Four Iron suddenly remembered that he was supposed to omit the last sentence and received a very harsh glare from his master. "Yes. I come from a long line of successful golfers, and it is my destiny to one day beat my father, and claim the spot as number one golfer in the world!" he shouted. Then he realised he was shouting and quietened down again. "But first of course, a friendly invitational sounds like good practice. I look forward to beatin.., um... playing with you."
  20. "Seven hundred bits? Do you take me for a fool! I don't even know if this thing will work without the Kitsune. Four hundred bits. You won't get a deal sweeter than that in Stalliongrad."
  21. Hauberk clambered onto the boat heavily, causing it to rock to and fro. He took a seat next to one of the rowing positions and flashed Allivia a comforting smile. "Mind's Eye'll get them," he said. "Last chance to back out of this," he said conversationally. Although he prepared to make note of her resolve as he said it. To that effect the leant forwards and whispered, "This isn't your fight, you know. You could easily stay here with the captain." He saw Raven out of the corner of his eyes and nodded curtly before pulling back away again and waiting for a response. Mind's Eye nodded politely, "Very well then Captain. I'll prepare the boat." With that said he turned and trotted away. He arrived at the rowing boat to see Raven watching Hauberk in what he perceived as a nervous manner. "Worry not, young one. When Hauberk makes a promise, he never breaks it." He said with a light laugh. His tone then darkened a little. "Now what did Celestia tell you about this book. Is it as powerful as the rumours say? Can it really grant the reader unlimited magical potential?" Wind watched entranced as a small group of robed ponies trotted out whispering dark words that seemed nonsensical, yet extremely familiar, as if just skirting the edges of the pony concious. The words seemed to seek her out in her cloud and wrap around her head, flitting in and out of her ears and repeating themselves. She shook her head to try and clear it, but the whispers became harsher. She was suddenly scared and spun around before shooting out of the cloud and as far away from the odd procession as possible. Not aware that some of the words followed her in her mad dash.
