  1. Roleplay Type: World of Equestria

    Name: Hallowed Night

    Nickname(s): Hallowed, Hallow, Night, Batty

    Sex: Female

    Age: Young Mare

    Species: Earth Pony

Eye Color: Very light grey; she often wears contacts to give the impression of not having pupils

Coat Color: White with big orange splotches

Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Mane: Medium long and spiky with orange and white streaks, and flops over one side of her face; Tail: Short and curved, orange and white streaks; Markings: Big orange splotches in random places

Physique: Slightly taller than average and thin.

Cutie Mark: A grinning black Jack-O-Lantern face. HallowedCutieMark.png

Origin/Residence: Near Ponyville on the edge of the Everfree forest in a huge hollowed out log

Occupation: None yet. She just moved out of her parents’ house recently and has yet to look for a job.

Motivation: To scare the bejezzuz out of ponies, but also to make them laugh and cheer up ponies when they’re feeling down.

Likes: Nightmare Night, scaring/pranking ponies, making jokes, candy and sweets, snowy days, playing make-believe

Dislikes: Dressing up, pumpkin pie, pushovers, the fact that she can’t fly, rainy days

Character Summary: Hallow is happy almost all the time and loves laughing. She pretty much always has a smile on her face and loves being around other ponies. She acts a little crazy sometimes, but as long as it makes somepony laugh she doesn’t care. She’s extremely self-confident and is indifferent if other ponies are laughing at her or with her. Though slightly lazy, she enjoys going for walks in the Everfree forest, and forgets all ideas of sloth when there is a pony nearby to prank or joke with. Nightmare Night and the days surrounding it are her favorite time of year, and she’ll often stay awake all night to develop some kind of elaborate prank, or just to stomp around the nearest town or city annoying other ponies. She likes to pretend she’s a vampire or a pirate, and is sometimes a little too childish. She has always been a little jealous of pegasi’s wings, and swears she can fly when no one is looking.

Background: Hallow was born on Nightmare Night, and grew up in Trottingham with both of her parents. She was an average student and the class clown, often disrupting class and pulling pranks on students and teachers alike. She didn’t get in trouble very much, however, because her teachers found that it was hard to be angry with someone so innocent and happy.

Once she was old enough to leave her parents, Hallow moved to the Everfree Forest; she had been fascinated with the place since she was a little foal, and wanted nothing more to live there. She made her own house over the course of a few weeks and with the help of some friends by hollowing out a huge, old fallen log that she happened to stumble across. It didn’t take her long to get settled, and now she is looking for a job in or near Ponyville, the closest town to her house.

Hallow still keeps in contact with her parents as has a good relationship with them. They had hoped that she would grow out of her crazy pranking ways, but they support whatever she wants to do, and just want her to be happy.

Cutie Mark Story- Hallow received her Cutie Mark at a normal time, right in the middle of her age group at school. She was a mischievous filly and enjoyed playing little jokes, but had never done a really elaborate prank before. So, on Nightmare Night she transformed her whole house into a haunted house with several of her friends and used it to terrify her parents. She was a little afraid they would be mad at her, but when they were impressed and laughed, she felt amazing and accomplished, and gained her Cutie Mark; a roguish looking black face.

Hallow’s Eyes and Teeth- Hallow almost always wears contacts to remove her pupils and fake teeth to give her real teeth sharp canines. She takes them off to sleep and won't wear them to special occasions, but they're in for the rest of the time. No one really knows why she went through the trouble of having the teeth and contacts made, and she considers the reason to be her greatest secret. Even her parents have never gotten her to admit her fascination with being physically different, and she has never considered any friend close enough to trust them with what is apparently a huge, important secret.

Hallow’s Clothes- Hallow always wears her black cape, boots and bands on her upper legs. The bands were a gift from her best friend in Trottingham that she received before she left for the Everfree Forest and she never takes them off. The boots and cape come off when she’s sleeping or bathing, but otherwise she keeps them on because she loves the way they compliment her strange look and Cutie Mark. Though some consider wearing a cape and clunky boots all the time quite silly and childish, Hallow couldn't care less and would not change her 'style' for the world.

  2. I am unsure, but my policy is always "The more, the merrier!" ^^

I could possibly meet up with your character, but I may need help devising an in-character reason to do so. My character is an intern for the company NSI, and works at their Manehatten office, so I'd have to find out an excuse for him to be out of the city. Vacation, maybe?

Hmmm... I guess vacation would be the best thing, if he would normally be in the city. I can change Willow's route to hit an actual city...maybe he goes nearer to Manehatten to buy supplies or something? Just in the outskirts of the city, maybe. They could meet while Sparks is leaving.

I like getting involved in adventure type RPs. Not sure what character I'd use at the moment (I have like 20... :P), but I may be interested in this.

Well, I agree with Chapien, the more the merrier! So feel absolutely free to join if you find the right character! :D

  3. Well thank you all! Willow wing, the PNW doesn't really have beaches sadly. The dad coast does but that's like 3 hours away. I live in a really awesome navy town and I'm a short drive away from a viking town! It's awesome!

Vikings? o3o Like...real vikings? That's freaking awesome! :-o I approve of your town!!

  4. Yay, I'm not being ignored~ *triumphantpose*

Well, I'll attach a map to this that is kind of what I was thinking for where Will is traveling. He's planning to just go through the forest in straight lines until he finds what he's looking for, so like...the red line is him by himself, when he first starts out, and then maybe the blue line is where they go as a group? With the question mark meaning they don't really know where they're gonna end up.

Since that bend in the river is kind of near Manehatten, that works strangely well. :P And the blue line almost goes through the Moon Palace, which could be fun to write about. (:

I'm not sure how many people might join this as well... How many do you think would be good?

  5. Well, maybe not that epic...but epic enough I suppose.

Since this is my first RP on here, I guess I'll give some info about my roleplaying. I'm deathly scared of messing something up and making myself look stupidWhat?

I've been roleplaying for...five years? Something like that...and writing in general since I was seven-ish. I consider myself quite literate and I use MSWord to correct and check all of my posts.

So anyway, I was hoping to start an RP with my character Willow Wing. If you read the application (you don't have to, I'll explain here) you'll see that it mentions a willow tree that Will is named after. This tree is apparently very special, and Will thinks it might help him find his mother. Though he has no real knowledge of this tree, other than the fact it's somewhere in the Everfree Forest (oooo, scary), he wants to set out on a quest to find it and discover more about his long-lost mother.

I was thinking that maybe several characters could be heading in the same direction for some reason, and meet up on the way...or something? And then they become friends and get in lots of fun adventures and help each other in their individual quests or things like that.

Is anyone interested? It's not very thought out at the moment, but...that's why it's here! (:

    Thanks beforehand for your replies~!

    Characters/people currently involved-

    • Willow Wing - WillowWing
    • Gears "Sparks" Clockwise - Chapien
    • Prime Meridian - Silversigil

I'm hoping to get one or two more definite people in before starting, though more can join afterwords. (:

The attached map shows Willow's travels; he passes through Ponyville and makes a last stop at Manehatten before heading into the Everfree forest. That give plenty of opportunities for characters to meet up along the way, if Willow starts out from Cloudsdale in my first post. (Travel when he's alone won't be very long. If he doesn't meet up with anyone, he'll probably go from Cloudsdale to Ponyville in one post.)

  6. All done with Sunspot~ His character is being reviewed now. Here's the finished drawing-

    Sunspot.png

And you can read more about him here.

I want to get better at shading and highlighting... I'm normally pretty good at it, but, for some reason, I just can't shade ponies. I want to practice poses too...I can never get the proportions and the face to look right if I do anything that's vaguely '3D'ish.

  7. I don't want him to raise any arguments about technology in Equestria... His inventions really aren't that fancy.

Roleplay Type: World of Equestria RP

    Name: Sunspot Sayer

    Nickname(s): Sun, Sunny, Spotty

    Sex: Male

    Age: Young stallion

    Species: Unicorn

    Eye Color: Soft blue

    Coat Color: Brown

Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Mane: Short, yellow with lighter yellow streaks that hangs over one eye slightly; Tail: Same color as the mane, no real style but very full/big; Markings: Yellow splotches on shoulders, ears and just above the hooves, yellow freckles on the bridge of the nose/snout

Physique: Slightly taller than average, thin. Since he has lived in Stalliongrad his whole life, he has a slightly shaggy coat, with longer hair around his hooves. (Much like a Clydesdale.)

Cutie Mark: Two gears meshed together

Origin/Residence: He has a permanent residence in Stalliongrad, but often travels to Canterlot to visit friends and stays for a few weeks at a time.

Occupation: Uses magic to make and assemble little clockwork gadgets that he sells when he needs money.

Motivation: To build amazing inventions that make him well known around Equestria.

Likes: Making things, cooking, hot chocolate, classical music

Dislikes: Hot weather, long walks, fighting, large crowds

Character Summary: Sunspot is extremely shy around large crowds or loud noises. He often spends days locked away in his house making little clockwork toys and gadgets, which he sells once he has too many. The cold suits him, and he likes being outside, but long walks or excessive exercise tires him out very quickly and he gets the sniffles a lot.

When he's not feeling overwhelmed, however, he greatly enjoys meeting new friends a few at a time, especially those with different interests than him. He has a thirst for knowledge, and loves to hear about different hobbies and jobs other ponies have that he wouldn't be able to really get a feel for from just reading a book. Sometimes he journeys around Equestria looking for interesting and beautiful things to learn about, and he greatly enjoys seeing new places. (Though nothing replaces his home in Stalliongrad.)

Sun is generally happy-go-lucky, and always tries something several times before he admits defeat. He is definitely more intellectual than physical, and is considered very smart, though he didn't do terribly well in school because of personal issues (to be described in the 'background' section). It's hard to find a problem or puzzle that he can't work out, and it usually doesn't take him very long. His magic, though not extraordinarily strong, is a little above average.

Sun is slowly getting used to the fact that he has grown up to be a tall, good-looking young stallion, but he is still quite self-conscious and doesn't like standing out.

Background: Sunspot grew up in Stalliongrad with both parents. He lived a normal childhood (foalhood?), but was often bullied and picked on because he was skinny, small and smart, which hindered his schooling and left him with lasting self-confidence issues. Once he was old enough to live on his own, he went immediately to Canterlot because he had wanted to live there since he was just a little foal. However, he found that the climate and crowds at Canterlot were not at all to his liking, and he much preferred the cold climate and quiet at Stalliongrad, so he moved back and set up a small house and workshop. He still visits his friends in Canterlot, often staying there for several weeks, sometimes months, at a time. He still has a great relationship with his parents and often visits them when he is not off looking for inspiration or staying with friends.

Sun has loved reading since he was young, and spends as much time as possible getting his hooves on new books. There is little he loves more than curling up on a cold day with a fuzzy blanket and a good book.

Sun's Cutie Mark- Sun got his Cutie Mark quite late, in his last year of school. He was given the chance to do some metal and gear working for a school project and loved it, more than anything he had ever done before; it was quiet and involved, and gave him time alone to think. As he was building something small, just for his project, he began coming up with concepts and ideas for bigger inventions, things he thought would improve and make life easier for other ponies; now he wants nothing more than to become known around Equestria for his inventions. He received his Cutie Mark, two meshed gears, the last day of school, when he presented the finished project to his class.

Sun's Name- Sun's parents named him because of the yellow splotches that stood out so well in contrast with his dark coat. He also had a 'sunny disposition' as a foal, which added validity to his parents' name choice.
