  1. Then you should check out Princess Tutu. That's a really great girl-themed anime with no Mary Sues at all.
  2. Just sent it into a helper. Waiting for a response.
  3. I just watched "The Last Roundup". I realize I'm very late with this, but I've been catching up, so I hope I'm forgiven. I read up on some of the controversy surrounding this episode and it bothers me. I have to wonder, there have been simpleton characters in cartoons before, and as far as I know, none of them have ever started any controversy, so why did Derpy? I didn't see any malice toward disabled people in that brief scene. As for the rest of the episode, I kinda liked it.
  4. Ok, I'm curious to know which character just rubs you the wrong way. For me, it'd be Snips and Snails. I'm sorry, but I just can't stand them.
  5. I'm doing a blog topic on my Aspie Catholic blog about my favorite writers, so I thought this would be a great way to get to know everypony. So, who are your favorite writers? I'll give a link to my post when it's finished and use that as a way for you to know mine.
  6. I'm betting some of you out there don't pay much attention to how the morals are presented. I really like it. In fact, I'm surprised at some of the morals that are brought up, like the one in "Cutie Mark Chronicles" and the one in "Feeling Pinkie Keen". So I thought I'd test this theory. Which episodes do you think presented their morals the best? For me it would be "Cutie Mark Chronicles", "Feeling Pinkie Keen", "Family Appreciation Day", "Sisterhooves Social" and "Bridle Gossip".
  7. I'd love to see an episode where it's revealed that Dr. Whooves had a hand in Ponyville's history, since he's a time-traveler.
  8. I don't think the sea ponies will show up. I read on TV Tropes that they tried the character design on kids, it scared them. Knowing how Hasbro feels about Luna (they think she's too scary). Anyway, just because they said August doesn't mean first week, as someone else said. In fact, when I was a colt, it was usually the second or third week of September that the new shows started. So if it does happen to be August, I'm guessing we'll have to wait til the second or third week. And I'm glad, as it'll give me more time to catch up. Anyway, I have a question: How long do you have to wait for an episode to appear on Hub's website?
  9. Favorite main character: Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, and Celestia Favorite supporting character: Applebloom, Cherrilee Favorite background character who needs a day in the limelight: Octavia and of course Dr. Whooves Favorite villain: Discord Favorite one-off: Photo Finish (because we needed a Lady Gaga parody)
  10. OK, let's give some credit to the great writers of this show. (and in the case of "Over a Barrel", not-so-great) So, I thought why not see which writers you think do the best job. The reason I left Lauren Faust is that I thought if I kept her in the list, the others would get very little attention. For me, I think the best writers are Rogers or McCarthy. I made this poll up because I feel the writers get so little attention, and I didn't think that was right.
  11. I wonder if Scootaloo lives at an orphanage. We have yet to see her parents, if she has any.
  12. I don't think Discord can actually be defeated. This is because of two ideas: 1. He is a force of nature. Chaos and Order are opposites, like good and evil. In some religions, particularly Buddhism, evil cannot be defeated, it exists because the Universe must be kept in balance. 2. He is Q. Q was never defeated in Star Trek. Instead, he just left until the next encounter.
  13. Mine would be a heart with a peace symbol in it, because I want to spread love and peace.
  14. Introduction: OK, folks, I think I have a few ideas for fanfics! So, since this one seems the most interesting and has some great story potential, I decided to start this one. It takes place after the season 2 finale, but since I have yet to watch it, don't expect any references to it. However, if I see it before I finish, I might make some. Also, Discord is in this, but I'm using my theory: that Discord is actually Q from Star Trek: TNG, and he just took this chimera form because he knew it was easier for the ponies to accept than a human's. So don't be surprised if he mentions stuff from Star Trek. This story will be posted in parts. Prologue: In the Stone Prison Discord was never really defeated. Q never accepted that. "If I let them think they've won, I can take time to plan." he thought. "This was way more fun that teasing Jean-Luc, and certainly better than Janeway and Cisco. They're still children, in a way. And much more fun to corrupt." He turned himself into vapor and floated around Ponyville, looking for a viable target. Perhaps it would be a good idea to play from Satan's playbook. He always wanted to try that route. Chapter 1: The contract Trixie was in her carriage. Shows weren't paying nearly as much. "It's that blasted purple unicorn." she thought. "She's to blame. If those idiots hadn't awakened that Ursa Minor, I could still make good money." "Do you really think so?" a voice said. "Who's there?" she exclaimed. "For now, I'm not showing myself. It seems we have a common enemy. That purple unicorn defeated me as well. I could help you." "I'm listening. It could be fun." Trixie considered. "Yes. Fun." said the voice. [and this is where the opening credits would come in, if this were the show.] Chapter 2 to come on Sunday!
  15. Ok, original post is now edited.

Origin: Canterlot Occupation: Musician Motivation: She wants to go multi-platinum on a CD. Likes: Loud Music Dislikes (optional) Character Summary: Punky was actually a pretty above average student. But in her spare time, she'd practice her guitar playing and write songs. This got other students interested, and they formed a band. The lead guitarist gave them their name. She was a rather Gothic pony, and had a rather dismal personality, with her music being her only outlet. The others thought Broken Rainbows sounded good, so it stuck. She sometimes wants to walk around and not be noticed. But at the same time, she will be nice to her fans. She likes to spend time by herself, because it seems she writes songs best alone, at least as far as lyrics are concerned. The rest of the song is usually done as a collaborative effort.. 17. I'll post my final copy of this profile tomorrow as a separate thread. Also, how many characters are you allowed to use? And how do I find out which characters from the cartoon are available?
  18. Actually, I just added new edits and I think it's ready. Do you like it? Can I play?
  19. I want to start a Doctor Whooves crossover. I'll play Doctor Whooves, but I need a couple companions and some villains. I'll take any kind of character, and next week, we'll start playing.
  20. I HATE Cartoon Network these days. My main problem is that they don't learn from their mistakes, especially live-action shows. I mean, when they made the shift, all those shows bombed. And then what debuted last year? Level Up! It's like, hey executives, didn't you pay attention to the ratings and the internet hatred of Destroy Build Destroy? Wasn't that enough of a clue? Did you really think MTV was a good model to follow? NO ONE REALLY LIKES MTV!
  21. BTW, if you watched the original Transformers cartoon, that counts too. Toei Animation, the studio behind Dragonball, did some of the "cleanup" on the show itself, and the entirety of the original movie.

  23. I find it so funny that there's a Doctor Who parody character on the show. I have an idea for a Doctor Whooves themed RP, but I want to know if this is even permissible since he's not a major character.
  24. Hey me too! Did you know you can watch the unedited version on Crunchy Roll?
  25. Roleplay Type:World of Equestria Name: Punky Sex: Female Age: Mare Species:Unicorn Coat Color: Neon Green Mane/Tail/Markings Color and Style: Green and purple mix. Somewhat bushy Eye Color: Blue Cutie Mark: V-necked guitar Physique: She has a somewhat muscular body, but not overtly so. Origin: Canterlot Occupation: Musician Motivation: She wants to go multi-platinum on a record. Likes: loud music Dislikes: smooth jazz. However she does like some classical music. Character Summary: Punky's childhood wasn't too bad. Her parents were hipsters and encouraged her musically, so she took to the guitar at a young age. She got her first guitar from a relative, and her constant practicing on it earned her a cutie mark. When she saw it, she realized her dream. She was a somewhat average student and didn't have much trouble studying, so she'd often spend her spare time practicing the guitar and writing songs. She did a talent show in her late teen years, but failed to win. When she went to college, she decided to take a career in communications just in case she didn't make it in music. During her off time, she managed to acquire some friends who were also musically talented, and together they formed a band called Broken Rainbows. The name was suggested by their rhythm guitarist. One month after the band was completely formed, Punky heard that there was a contest put out by a local radio station. The winning band would receive a record deal with Poof Records, a record company that was looking for new talent. There were 5 bands in the contest, but Broken Rainbows won by a very close margin. Even with that, they managed to get the record deal and their first record went gold. They've made two more albums since then Punky does enjoy her fame, but she often feels that she's received too much attention. She does like her fans, but at times she just wants time to herself. Punky is very kind to most ponies, as long as she receives kindness in return. She is not full of herself, because she knows there are others less fortunate than herself. In fact, she's actually given a good portion of ticket sales to charities. She can be a bit of a perfectionist, and has often had problems with her bandmates if the song doesn't come out just right. She's a bit disappointed that her sales haven't been that great, as she feels she gives her all to every record she and the band have made.
