  1. Well, I thought I'd take a stab at a blog yet again. My last blog, which I haven't updated in forever, is a tea blog. Maybe I'll post some tea stuff here eventually, I'm not quite sure. Seeing that the newly updated forum had a blog option has motivated me to at least try again. I'm not sure whether or not the things I post will be interesting to you, but I do hope they will be. I thought I'd start off by posting one of my poems, 'Moon Daughter'. Now, I happened to write down the date when I wrote this one, September 13, 2008. So, this was written 2 years and a month before Friendship is Magic was aired. Looking back at this poem now, it's almost eerie how well it seems to fit with Princess Luna; it's feels rather prescient. ---------- Moon Daughter Slow. Remember your embrace by the Rowan Tree. Why must the morning be so bright when the moon daughter sleeps? I linger by the ocean, gazing up at the universe so black. Why did she have to melt this heart, only to return to the skies? Sacred moon princess, hear my plea. ------- The line 'why did she have to melt this heart, only to return to the skies' just seems to mesh so well with her being sent to the moon for her 1,000 year exile. :!: Now I must go looking for more retroactive MLP references in my poems, I guess. Hehe.
  2. *rofls* Dude, best tutorial ever. I hope to one day be as good as you at making PB&J sandwiches
  3. What the heck.... I laughed and cried inside at the same time.
  4. I looked at the path of the Hurricane, and I see it isn't really going to come close to where I am (Barrie, Ontario), although it looks like it will hit the maritimes somewhat. However, I would expect some residual rain and/or storm activity here when it passes by.
  5. Really? I'm in Ontario, and I never noticed anything. Nor did I hear anything about it.
  6. Oh no you don't. This isn't going to turn into Bush vs. Gore. XD YAY SONIC RAINBOOM WON. Out of the two provided, it was the one I chose. However, I still think Cutie Mark Chronicles is the best one, and I'm disappointed it wasn't there in place of Sonic Rainboom.
  7. Welcome Lucan! Thou art most welcome in our humble domain. Scootaloo is ok, I guess. But I agree with you about Rarity. She's on the bottom of the list for me. Hooray for Zelda music! I like to play many of the songs on the keyboard. The one I tend to play the most is the Windmill Song/Song of Storms. Put on an accordion preset, and awayyyyyy we go. :3 I myself have only had two pony dreams, and they were both shipping ones. The first one, I ended up marrying Pinkie Pie and we had a daughter together. The other one was with Twilight Sparkle and...I'm not going to go into that. PG-13 these boards are, young Skywalker.
  8. 'Interactive storytelling' is what I like to call it. Roleplaying is quite a common activity, especially amongst children. When you see young kids playing, they're often pretending that they're heros or villains, and they duke it out. That's LARPing, Live Action Roleplaying. To some extent, without really realizing it, all of us have, at one time or another, roleplayed. I think one of the biggest challenges of online roleplaying is the writing. If you're not used to doing much writing, roleplaying can seem quite daunting, even overwhelming. What it really comes down to is applying yourself to your writing, and working to improve upon the things you struggle with. Firstly, I'd apply yourself to correct spelling and grammar (just as a general rule, I'm not pointing the hoof at you), as those are appreciated by your fellow RPers. And then, once you feel that you're strong in that respect, then focus on character interaction and dialogue. Description is one of the hardest things to master, and I struggle with it myself'; I tend to do only minor, necessary descriptions, and then focus on interaction/dialogue, because I'm better at those. Wow, caught myself rambling there. I hope anything I said was helpful.
  9. While Pinkie Pie going completely bonkers was funny, 'Party of One' just seemed a little over the top for me. Shouldn't Pinkie know her friends well enough by now to know they weren't turning on her? My vote goes for Sonic Rainboom.
  10. I can't help but rofl at this whole thread. You're getting all PO'd at these toys. Sure, they don't look much like horses. Sure, they definitely send the wrong message. But are toy companies going to stop making these sorts of toys? No. I will quote Bob Dylan as my answer to this: "And if you hear vague traces of skippin’ reels of rhyme To your tambourine in time, it’s just a ragged clown behind I wouldn’t pay it any mind It’s just a shadow you’re seein’ that he’s chasing" - Mr.Tambourine Man
  11. Oh please let it be so. If Hasbro does not release it on DVD, I will be seriously disappointed at their lack of common sense.
  12. I've bought pony toys at the Zellers in the Kozlov Mall, and none of the cashiers said a word. They most likely assumed it was for a female relative...or they just knew better than to say anything. haha.
  13. Dude, I feel the same way. I don't want to look at it either. And the art style just makes me rage.
  14. Whether 3 or 5, it's a good idea in and of itself. Take that, spammers!
  15. OMG COMMANDER KEEN YES 8D I remember playing the Keen Dreams one where you fight evil fruit and veggies in your attempt to take down the evil King Potato.
  16. As far as I can remember, it was the Super Mario Brothers / Duck Hunt dual game pack on the NES. :3
  17. Yeah, it may be the nature of the beast, but it certainly gets old fast for us fans. : /
  18. I, for one, have never felt ashamed about liking ponies. I've told all of my coworkers, and quite a few of my friends. I do not hide it, nor do I make any attempt to do so. Plus, I've bought two pony shirts, so wearing those in public will definitely show that I am not afraid to make my love of ponies known.
  19. Buck’s attention was distracted for a moment as he heard a soft voice float his way. He turned and saw a blue pegasus with a long, flowing orange mane peeking out from the backroom. Before Buck could respond, the pegasus excused herself for a moment. He admired the dress some more, nuzzling the soft fabric. “Gee, if’n Ah had any bits, Ah’d definitely buy this for Ma.†Several moments later, he was surprised again by the pegasus. She moved very quietly, and he turned at her voice to find her standing right beside him. “Oh, heh. Good day ma’am. Mah name is Buckwheat. Ah hope you don’t mind me lookin’ about, Ah’ve just never been in one of these ‘ere fashion shops, so it’s quite a lot to take in.†He looked at the dress he had been admiring. “Ah was just sayin’ to mahself that mah Ma would look good in this dress. Unfortunately, Ah’ve no bits to mah name.†He said somewhat sadly, lowering his head. Suddenly remembering his errand, he raised his head again. “Ah almost forgot the reason Ah was here. Mah grandma sent me to pick up her order. It’s under the name ‘Calico Weave’, and Ah believe she’s already paid for it in advance, or so she told me this morn’.â€Â
  20. I agree, Lauren is such a beautiful woman. Also, I'm a sucker for redheads. Argh, I too was slightly infuriated at that, maintaining that Bronies are all male. They did a decent job of researching it, and yet they still gloss over the fact that a good portion of the viewers are female. Again, they're sensationalizing things.
  21. Oh Pinkie Pie, you are SO random. :3 I saw this video last night on EQD. I've been waiting a long time for KYM to make a video for the fandom. I'm disappointed they didn't say '20% cooler' or '10 seconds flat', though. : /
  22. Yeah, I agree, not very amazing. And how exactly was this unreleased? Is it an alternate version or something? Because I remember Pinkie Pie singing this to Fluttershy.
  23. Buckwheat looked up at the shop sign: Puttin’ on the Glitz. “Well, this is the place that Grandma said.†Buckwheat was in Ponyville again, visiting his grandparents. He dearly loved his grandma, and she loved him just the same. Of course, he knew that at one point his mother and grandmother had fought because of her marrying a donkey, he had been told that much. But now, years later, things were hunky-dory between them, and grandma loved having him stay with them. “Oh, Jonathan,†She had called out to him (by his first name, no less) just before he bolted out the door for the park. “I was wondering if you could do grandma a favour. Could you be a dear and pick up my order from ‘Puttin’ on the Glitz’? It’s a fashion store in the center of town. You can’t miss it.†He slumped for a second, but then recovered. “A’right, grandma, Ah’ll go get it fer ya.†He had said with a smile, eager to be a dutiful grandson. “Thank you, I appreciate it. I have other engagements to take care of today, so that will be a big help to me.†She gave him a kiss on the cheek, and then ushered him gently out the door. And now, after having wandered about for a while, looking for the shop, he had found it. He pulled the door open, hearing the bell chime, announcing the presence of a customer. Stepping inside, he looked about in wonder. So many fancy clothes! He had never been in any fashion stores with his mother before, and thus he was flabbergasted at all the neat designs and fabric. He wandered over to a dress, and thought that it’d look lovely on his mother. Buck felt the fabric. “Gee, sure is soft.†He whispered in quiet wonder. For a moment, he forgot about his errand, and began browsing about the store, taking it all in.
  24. I have to say, that video made me rofl pretty hard. XD And yeah, while the exposure is nice, I agree that focusing only on men is a bit narrow-minded. THE FILLIES NEED TO BE RECOGNIZED TOO. >=3
