Hmm, well I certainly wasn't meaning there were any unofficial guidelines. It was more saying 'Hey if they look weird this way, go this way.' If it were just, y'know, Raptorians, they could easily have fit in. Dog heads, bird-like bodies. Easy peasy. I was just saying 'Yeah they look a little weird, so maybe it could be different if staff wanted'.

I'll see if I can find something on where I read that *nodnod* And yeah, G1 Raptorians look a little silly, but that's thinking in G1 terms. If they translated over to G4 they certainly wouldn't look....quite as lumpy? I think just adding claws to a vulture would just be basically 'Well now we have talking vultures'. But with the canine head and avian-like body, it'd be more unique and closer to what they originally were.

Dronies are, well, Dragon Pony Hybrids. Since mythologically speaking, dragons tend to be able to interbred with a lot of different creatures. It'd be like a Hippogriff, but dragonish. As for Harpies, perhaps instead of just Harpies, the original Raptorians might work better. Going with the canine head and the harpy like body. It would not only keep out the worry of being straight-up talking animals, it'd keep them closer to their G1 counterparts.

Very very true! It's better to ask before diving head first. A little disappointment is better than pouring so much work into something to get a no. *nodnod* If it helps thoughts on the Harpies, I recommend checking in some on the Raptorians. Though, kinda like Diamond Dogs, we only have 3 sorta bumbling examples I supposes hehe. I doubt they would look like Raptorians, since harpy body + dog head looks a lil silly...at least in G1 Style! Fair enough, though I DO think some lore building should be a thing. Because truly, what makes the various races interesting to play are their differences and cultures. And while I'm certain staff will get around to that at some point, I do feel like having some input from the player base is always a good option, as it gives staff a possible starting point as it would show what people may be interested in! =3 But no need to apologize! It's all totally fine. No skin off my nose, I just like checking things and seeing how they'd sink or swim! Which brings me on to the next two. First up is one I feel would be acceptable since Centaurs (such as Tirek) are acceptable. Gargoyles, ala Scorpan! Course, there's not much to say on them, they're pretty self explanatory. Next up would be one I see as a little iffy? Harpies. Now of course I certainly wouldn't suggest the human body, bird wings etc. But I could see them as an expy for the Raptorians from G1. Altbeit not...quite as weird looking? (and I do mean really weird.) I do hope me popping in more suggestions after another isn't becoming a bother. Like I said, I just like to see what'll sink or swim c:

Fair enough with moth ponies, though I do feel with the fact changelings exist as buggypones, mothponies could easily exists, but totes fine. Didn't expect that one to be an a-okay. Though with Twinkle-eyed Ponies, the irises aren't just shaped like gems. Rather they ARE gems themselves. I don't feel like the Crystal Ponies are quiet meant as an expy to Twinkle-eyed Ponies, but perhaps you're right. I figure the real issue with Twinkles would be figuring out, well, A: why (Original lore they were forced to mine for an evil wizard and gem shard embedded in their eyes and just, became gems over time and breeding I think? Something like that) and B: Beyond eyes, what really sets them apart from any other pony. Thanks either way!~

One I just thought of bringing up that seems to be fairly popular. Moth Ponies! They're super adorbs and there's already quite a bit of stuff on them that would make incorporating them easier perhaps. And another idea would be Twinkle-eyed Ponies! I recall mention of Twinkle-eyed Pegasi in the comics (tho I know comics aren't empirical canon or whatnot) so it'd certainly be a plausible option.

Gideon arched a curious brow at the huffing and puffing mare as her cloud of dust settled. It seemed like everyone and their third cousin was out to get some apples today! Were that really that good? Or was everyone just that keen on getting a quick smooch from the salesmare? Any questions that the diamond dog would have had were cut short by a smack from a rogue notepad. Seemed his new acquaintance didn't have the best of grips on stationary magic. Rubbing his cheek softly, he was just in time to duck the return trip. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's apples t'spare...If not I may just end up having to eat some of my merch..." he said jokingly, casting a glance over at his cart with a smirk.

*inhales and resists urge to go fanboy mode* Ahem, hello~ Okay, so, a good long while ago, back when Mane was still our beloved overlord...overlady? Overpony! I had made a small pitch on the Abada. Which I then took to talk with Dio about, and he took my little snippets of ideas and started working them into something amazing See Here. Now understandably, Dio got busy (marriage, adminy things, moonlighting as a Bond villain) and it's not entirely finished. But I think the general idea is something that could easily work. I do know that Abada were mentioned very passingly in a couple of threads on site already as 'mythical' or 'legendary'. Which discouraged me for a short bit, but gave me a thought. In one section of the Abada's Culture section, it mentions that a griffons used to poach them for their horns (as they can be used medicinally, also explained some in the document). So it got me thinking that, perhaps that why they're thought to be a legend, is because that's what they wanted everyone else to think. Perhaps they went into hiding to live in peace for so long! And now that things are calming down, they're coming back to society c: ((Or I can be beaten to it apparently! Which is totally fine, but I'll leave my fanboying here anyway~))

Sorry, couldn't resist. But yes, Rosie's idea seems to be a good idea. My first thought would be, like, use a compass to get some practice in, before trying freehand *shrug* xD

This thread will likely have two kinds of people. Self deprecating folks who rank themselves below five or people who are trying to play off their self deprecation by rating themselves high. 11/10.

Gideon gave a grin and nodded his head. "Ponies are free to come and visit as they please. Usually it tends to just be for business purposes, but sometimes you'll find a traveler coming in from the heat to catch a breather." he said, finally pocketing the coin he had been tossing into the air. Sure, some of his pack weren't too keen on letting Ponies in and out of the systems, but so long as neither caused any trouble for the other, things stayed fairly calm, and when they didn't, Gideon had ways and wiles of cooling tensions. "Heh, I guess your average Diamond Dog will tend to more focus on what's under their nose than what's out around them. But I like to think I'm more business savvy than that. Sure, we could just all the stuff we mine for our own use, but why not make some trades when you can right? Mutually beneficial I'd say." the canine gave a long stretch and a pop of his back before speaking again. "Not to mention, it keeps us from getting run off for no good reason."

Gideon couldn't help but to snicker. Mint was just a bundle of questions, especially for being so out of breath just moments ago. At least it was all polite and innocuous sort of questions. "Don't you worry, nothing to pardon." he said with a grin. "Well my pack don't usually partake in apples, sometimes we make some trades with ponies for em though. But like you mentioned, usually meat or mushrooms. I personally prefer a good apple pie or tart. But roasted apples can be pretty good too." the canine licked his lips at the mention of food, his stomach grumbling just a little bit. As it seemed like things were slowly starting to move again ahead of the diamond dog, another pony, Night Glider he thought he overheard, had spun around. He figured to give the yellow pegasus a little privacy. He figured that even if it was only her by herself, there wouldn't be enough privacy for her. "My pack lives out in a cave system, beneath the Appleloosa desert. Not too far from the...ugh. From the train tracks." Gideon shuddered softly at the mention of trains, his bent tail swishing in response before he cleared his throat to regain his composure. "It's nice and cool year round, without ever getting too chilly."
