  1. Well if petitions are what caused this, in theory more petitions could reverse it.... (Though I still say that she dosen't really sound like someone with down syndrome) But if the way her voice sounds is the problem they could just raise the pitch of those lines, they wouldn't even have to redub anything, but her voice is higher after the first few seconds anyway (Actually more than anything her voice makes me think of this one "Rudolph" Christmas special....) Now, I apologise in advance if I sound a bit sharp toungued saying this, but is this whole upset: The letters of complaint the having Derpy related merchandise removed or renamed, all or this....it seems a bit much for a minute or two of footage that could potentially be offensive if interpreted the wrong way in a series that to date has had over 40 episodes that are the exactly opposite....It sort of reminds me of that inccident a few years ago where some stores were insisting their Santas say "Ha-Ha-Ha" because of some slang term that was used at the time
  2. I managed to last through both videos being played simultaniously, I even let Chimi-Cherry Cherry-Changa play the extra 5 minutes to go along with the Pickle Barrel Kumquat one Saying that I chose Chimi-Cherry, it sounds cuter, I think I also chose Pickle Barrel (Actually I've never had pickles or kumquats)
  3. Don't they sign it "Your Faithful Subject" or something along those lines? Either way you never see the letter being sent out without being signed so it probably is signed off-screen Now my question is why do so many people think that Celestia would take a dim view of Applejack's letter from Super Speedy Cider Squeezy? True it is a bit different since Applejack didn't learn anything, but having principals that you believe in being confirmed is important too. Not to mention the fact that was willing to accept help from her friends instead of insisting that her family could do it on their own and mentioned that in her letter shows that she's retained her lession from Applebuck Season, it might be a bit of a surprise but it's hardly something to be disappointed in
  4. I agree, I've never had either kind of cider but all things considered it probably is non-alchoholic (except perhaps Berry Punch's glass), come to think of it, it's a tad ironic that so many jokes have been made regarding the cider but nopony's pointed out that the episode was focused on a Pony named after an alchoholic beverage But I wouldn't be surprised if the main reason why they kept running out was that they only had four Ponies doing everything and even when they could have asked for help it didn't occur to them to do so, if you think of the Applebuck Season episode Applejack literally had to over work herself to point of collapsing before she admitted that she needed help so it does make sense that she didn't think to ask for help with making cider (even though Applejack learnt her lesson from Applebuck season she still had to have help offered instead of asking from the start if anypony wanted to volunteer some time to help them make sure everyone could have cider each day) and since they were making it everyday they didn't have enough time to make sure that everypony could get some. Saying that they could have had the Ponies who didn't get any cider on the first day each take a number so they could be served in order the next day and after all those Ponies had been served the ones that already had some could buy what was left with the ones who were left after they sold out taking numbers and so on But looking back at "The Last Roundup" I have to wonder if maybe this had something to do with why Rainbow Dash didn't turn back
  5. Actually the Music Man videos already have some Pony comments popping up too Hmm perhaps, though the term Flim-Flam often reffers to advertising spin (Incidently I think Flim is the clean shaven one and Flam is the one with the moustache, since that's what they went with the most times....what does everyone else think?) On that note I agree that it was nice to have the lesson of the episode be a confirmation rather than something the character had to learn and there were some great little details in this episode Like Rainbow Dash's dancing in the background around the end of the song or what looks like Silver Spoon's Father (right before they sing the chorus for the first time, he's the grey Earth Pony near the Pink Unicorn), Granny Smith fixing the fence right before it's broken again and Cheericorn (I'm not the only one who noticed the Unicorn that looks like Cheerilee, right?) Actually I had a strange thought....What if Flim & Flam are Trixie's Brothers? Also a couple of really good PMVs that have already shown up
  6. Mmm-Hmm The Music Man was the first proper musical I ever watched, it's great to see it being referenced here Actually if you to synchronise "Trouble in River City" With "The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy Song" they match up amazingly well
  7. Actually if you to synchronise "Trouble in River City" With "The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy Song" they match up amazingly well
  8. I'm sorry but I saw this and thought of your comic
  9. Music Man Reference! But I'm surprised Rainbow Dash didn't push ahead in line considering how long she would end up being stuck in line or ask Fluttershy for some of her glass
  10. Oh, it's nothing like that, it's called Scootaloo because a percentage of the money goes to paying her tuition for summer flight camp (Hmm, appearently they're really expensive when you've grown up on the ground)
  11. Why does July have to be the violation one...... More importantly why do we have a violation one?
  12. And here's a petition website https://www.accessnow.org/page/s/just-say-no-to-acta Alright everypony, we've done this before, let's send this one to the moon too
  13. When you openly state that you're buying that piece of My Little Pony merchandise for your collection (I do this everytime before the cashier can ask otherwise) You're very careful not to misuse "Whinning" or "Complaining" because "It's a dangerous error to make" When you refer to a town that has a farming history as being founded by Earth Ponies (I've had this happen) When you've said Canterlot instead of Camelot ("On second thought, let's not go to Canterlot, tis a silly place"....on top of that I was conciously trying not to make that mistake) You bring your Pony figures to classes depending on what sort of people you've encountered at it (I had one two-weekend class that I had to go to and and nearly brought "Desktop Twilight is disappointed by your making rude jokes during class" and "Desktop Rarity disapproves of your ugly tweed suit") When somebody comes into your local pet shop you sing the find a pet song....despite not working at a pet shop
  14. Hmm, this one actually sounds like it would have "Smile" in it
  15. But that just reffers to emotional age so their physical ages are still open for speculation, I also don't really think that we can apply the way that Ponies in our world mature and age to the way that Equestrians mature and age since they are very different (for all we know they could even have longer lifespans than Humans do) I already answered in the older one but I think that the age gap between the eldest and youngest of the Mane 6 is at most a few years and that Applejack is the eldest (I remember her mentioning in Call of the Cutie that she was the last Pony in her class to get her Cutie Mark which suggests that she got it at a relatively late age) then Fluttershy, then Rarity (roughly the same age as Fluttershy with just a few months separating them), then Twilight, Pinkie and Rainbow dash (I'm not sure exactly what the order would be, but Pinkie is about a year younger than Fluttershy and about the same age as Rainbow Dash, also Rainbow is one of if not the youngest since she mentions being the first in her class to earn her Cutie Mark, which suggests that she got it at a relatively young age) Then the Cutie Mark Crusaders are probably between 9 and 12, maybe a bit older
  16. I think it would have some effect, it's possible that they still farm rocks but have more fun doing it and perhaps grow more colourful rocks that match their happier life
  17. Maybe he's decended from the old Royal Family, Princess Platinum and her decendants Wait.... Oh Dear....
  18. I think the reason for that connection may be because you watched G.I. Joe and Transformers growing up while you didn't watch G1 My Little Pony, you don't have the same attachment to it so you're less inclined to see the shows you grew up watching as simply a half hour commercial though you do realise now that they were. And you probably didn't see those shows as an advertisement when you were a child because you were part of the audience, the show was made so boys in your age group would be more likely to identify with it, yourself included, and since you could identify with the characters you would be more hesitant to write it off as a commercial since that would cheapen it somewhat, even if you aren't doing it conciously Now, I was born when they were finishing the first generation (Technically the age of Pony Tales and the toys that accompanied it were still G1, and I was born in summer 1991) so I watched a good few 80s shows, including the movie and pilot of the first My Little Pony series, so my saying that I didn't see it or any of the other shows I watched as being a commercial dosen't really hold much weight since I didn't have the toys coming out along with the series. But my parents did point out with a couple of things that they were basically long comercials (though most of the series I watched were either more focused on the characters than promoting the line of toys or had no merchandise at all) and in some cases I acknowledged that fact and knew that I could still read or watch it but that I had to keep that in mind (for example a book one of my playmates had that was basically a 22 page advertisement for a Barbie Computer) and in some cases I realised that but really didn't care As for the comment about adults watching shows aimed at little girls, my parents never put the same importance on fitting within ideas about gender and the traits that lined up happened to line up without my being pushed into it. Though being female there isn't the same social preassure for me to have girly intrests as there is for men; if a girl likes things that boys like she may meet with some resistance but not as much as a boy who likes things aimed at girls. It's the same sort of thing as in the movie Kinder Garden Cop when the Mother of one of the boys is concerned that her Son plays with dolls until she finds out that he only played with them so he could look up their skirts, basically it's just as hard if not harder for males to fight their gender sterio type becuase girls have the women's liberation movement to back them up so even if they meet some opposition there's also something telling them that there are lots of other girls who think the same way, while if a boy goes against the male steriotypes people will think that there's something wrong with him But going back to the topic of the theme song, I don't really mind it, though I find it a bit strange reading it; I usually don't read it if I'm watching a captioned episode and sometimes I'll skip the opening if I'm really anxious to see the actual episode. But there is one show in particular that I've often skiped over the theme song of when I watch it on DVD, I'm not sure why though; one reason is probably because the song is a bit slow-paced, it's a lovely song and the full version is wonderful but I often skip past the usual ending scene. I think it started the first time I watched the series, the first DVD had come out almost 6 months before (the only reason I hadn't been able to get it then was because it came out a few days after my birthday) the other two volumes were already out and I was really anxious to watch the episodes so after the first few episodes I just skipped past the song
  19. Oh! I for Ice Skating (used in winter wrap up)

  21. I'm terrified of anything medical, surgeries needles, organs everything. Probably because my mother has sevierre allergies (the fisrt time she went into shock I was 6 and had to go with her because my dad was out on a business trip and we didn't know anyone in the area at the time) and my dad has a heart condition (I'veseen both my parents with the I.V.s and everything). Fortunately I'm allergic to one of the preservatives used in most vaccines so I haven't had one since age 5 and I can't give blood (I don't remeber the exact reason, it might be becaue my blood preasure already tends to be low). But I'm adament about avoiding blood tests (I had one when I was 9 where I felt the needle despite being sedated, the medication had a bad effect on me and it turned out to be unnessicary), I used to have to have somebody read mystery novels to me so they could skip past the autopsy scenes (which I still have to skip over and I have have to mute the T.V. and look away or change the channel when those scenes come up) and when I had my wisdom teeth removed I was 16 and had to have over 6 months of weekly therapy sessions to prepare myself for it and when on of my mom's clients had to stay at our house she kept talking about piercings and some of them going wrong and I nearly fainted several times, once I was in the middle of a store when she tried to show me something related to her navel piercing gone wrong. Though strangely I've taken self defense classes and have no problem with the descriptions I'm also afraid of spiders even though my mom was always careful not to over react when she saw one because both her and my grandmother are afraid of them (though we found out about a year ago that she's allergic to them) I don't handle hights or fast speeds well, strangely I'm fine on planes apart for the jolt when you take off, but one time I got stuck climbing a ladder and when somepony helped me down I had only gone two steps up (granted I was 10 when this happened). I also get really nervous going down escalatiors, partially due to acrophobia and partially because about 4 years ago I had gone to a book store that has two floors and when I was trying to decide which version of a book set to buy I stepped back and of course I'm exactly the wrong size and ended up being pulled up by the escalator railing....yes really I was pulled halfway up before somepony pressed the emergency stop button (I actually saw online that this happened to another girl somewhere else on roughly the same day and all that happened to her was that she was pulled a little bit and stumbled off) I also feel nervous around most lagre dogs (except for Golden Retrievers since they're supposed to be a very relaxed breed) and I have a lot of issues with contamination, it's not very surprising since I've grown up in an allergy concious enviroment that I'd be more careful than most but I hate touching anything unclean. I've heard about people who have been taking out the family's garbage since they were tall enough to lift the bag, I did it once and that was only because my mom had a migrene and there was something in the bag with cat hair on it which my dad's allergic to so it had to be taken out right away (I've emptied the waste paper baskets but the kitchen garbage is something I never handle the bag for) I didn't even throw out my own kitchen garbage until I was 13, putting away the dirty dishes is something I've only done as a punishment; I can't stand touching anything unclean I feel nausiated if I have to touch it and if I find out that somebody is sick I adamently avoid them Also mammalian reproduction, it's a really uncomfortable thing for me to think about
  22. The show can be left as it is, it's lovely the way it is now I agree, accurate toys would be great as would toys of the background characters and maybe some diorama toys, where you have the houses that the characters live in and you can open it up and it has all the rooms and the furniture, that would be brilliant and both audiences would be able to appreaciate it (I know when I was a little Filly I liked my toys to be accurate, I started making my own plush toys speciafically because the Digimon toys took too long to come out and were so inaccurate when they finally did) Some more collector oriented things would be nice too, figures that show some of the more memorable moments and maybe some products that are collaborations with other companies, like the various POP Series (Pony POP Series would be the cutest thing) and of course plush toys, good ones that are accurate and don't look like their hair was done with a piece of broken glass And of course lots of special features on the DVD with comentary tracks by the animation staff and the voice overs and delected scenes, the lyca reel some of the planning that goes into the episodes interviews, it wouldn't take away from the younger audience member's enjoyment of the videos and it would add so much for the older audience members
  23. Good for you buying the toy set, even if you can't display it entirely right now. But really, banning you from collecting something that's important to you on the off chance that you would be mocked for it? I'd try talking about it one more time and saying that you appreciate her concern about you being mocked but that it is important to you and that if you did put them in a room set aside for yourself and somebody mentioned it the two of you could have an excuse ready, such as holding them for a friend or relative if she's really that concerned about it. You could even offer to let her do something that you don't like her doing without complaining if she promises to do the same with your Pony collecting (though if she's free to do whatever she likes without you expressing disapproval and then tries to prohibit you from collecting something you like that is extremely unfair; I know that if I were married, earning money and my spouse was free to persue their hobbies but then they tried to ban me from one of my hobbies, especially one that was extremely important to me I would continue my hobby anyway and bring every possible arguement into play if they objected) But yes, I believe that in any sort of personal relationship you should be free to be who you are and if you're earning money you should be allowed to spend some on things that are important to you without having to ask permission and if you have to ask or if your spouse loses it if you buy something that they didn't approve of (for example, if they stay mad for hours because you bought a $5 toy)....Well, your spouse's disapproval isn't the largest problem I'll give you an example, I like plush toys, I've been collecting them since I was a little Filly and I do own a lot of non-collectable ones, so many that I have storage bins full of them and for a time my parents banned me from buying them. But that didn't stop me, I always found a way around it whether it was buying them and hiding them until I got home or getting other relatives to buy them and I was extremely thurough when I bought them to make sure that there was no chance of being told to have them returned and yes they found out about them and they were agrevated at first but had to admit that all the careful planning I did to both buy and keep my newer toys was impressive for a 14 year old and they realised that they couldn't really stop me. My point is you shouldn't feel that you have to ask permission to do something that matters to you, especially if you would have been able to do it freely when you were single. After all, the person you love should be the last one that you feel the need to hide your interests from. And if you buy something and she gets mad, so she's mad for a little while, and once the irratation of you disobeying her wears off she realises that this really is important to you and that she was being unfair trying to keep you from it and if she dosen't it's best that you find out about it and work through it now instead of years later when you've been stuck in this pattern for so long (Sorry to ramble on like that, this is sort of a Passion filled topic for me, I always get so angry at those controling boy friends/husbands or the domenearing girl friends/wives you see on T.V. that try to make their lover/spouse be afraid of them getting mad for buying or doing something that they disapprove of)
  24. My personal theory is that they left to help at the farm of another branch of the family, that's where they were around the time Applejack got her Cutie mark (which also explains why they weren't in the flash back) and perhaps were on the farm for a while afterwards, but they currently are in a remote region setting up an orchard and Applebloom lives in Ponyville because their parents decided it would be a better enviroment for her to grow up in Either way, I'm going to pressume that they're alive unless evidence appears stating otherwise, if for no other reason than it's extremely difficult to get away with having a character with dead parents
