  1. Its late, so i'll throw out my opinion and head to bed... read everyone elses later... Sooo bad stuff first... I didnt like the Villain... he got sooo little screen time for one thing, probably less than the manticore from S1E2 i think he said 'crystal' twice... and frankly i didnt find him intimidating... We were just kinda TOLD that he was evil, and that was it... we weren't really SHOWN how evil he was... just a brief sceen of everyone in chains and the land looked darker... kinda like in LOZ Twilight Princess... We were TOLD the world was in a great peril, but frankly all the bad guys seemed to do was make everythign kinda shadowy... And the crystal kingdom seems fishy... NO ONE knew anythign about this place? Really? The two princesses who took the time to banish an evil unicorn didnt take the time to research this? Or try and save it from the curse? and yet the minute it pops up on the map, Celestia knows to protect it from Sombra again... Another negative nancy bit... You'd think Twilight would realize by now that her teacher is probably the most lenient being in the world... her pet turns to ash= "It's okay, he's comign back" Late on her report= "It's all good." Multiple evil deities come back from the past, "you cane handle it..." While i'm on that.... i think Celestia needs to make a list of old adversaires she's faced so Twilight can research them... at this rate they're all gonna come back at some point... "Oh yeah, and there was this one circus pony demon who made everyone laugh hystaricall til they passed out, so dont bring Pinkie, and he's allergic to buts... just so you know." But, even with all that negative stuff i noticed, i couldnt help but also notice that i was smiling pretty broadly through the majority of the show. The characters were all as they should have been (excluding Twilight being so freaked out about doign it alone...) With Rarity getting giddy over jewels, Applejack using her friendly nature to dissuade ponies from seeing the stone, and pinkie... well, being Pinkie... Once again, one of her little moments made me bust out laughing (cannon time manipulation.) The songs were nice of course, and everythign else was good, but it's just the characters being themselves that i like... and that really saved the episode... Also, AJ's comment to Rarity at the end... yeah, Rainbow Dash better keep an eye on her, she's flirting with non shipping parnters, hehe. And whats with all the Gak stuff i've been seeing? i didnt see the commercials...
  2. So i've noticed a trend in gaming lately... Games being released annually that are really not significantly different than the previous years installment... Most of the Mario games, CoD, most of the sports title... I think we've hit a point where most of these games have reached a point where they can't be updated anymore than they already have... so why are we paying full retail price for them year after year? Why not on the next line of consoles make one game during the first year or two, and after that offer DLC to expand upon that game... With Super Mario, every year add another dozen levels with new items and modes... it's not like the basic formula of Mario has changed much since the NES days. if they DO come up with something new and cool, it probably won't be worth putting it onto a disc.... "Ooo, A NEW frog suit! with a couple new levels!" Is that really worht the processing of a new disc? shipping it across the world and paying retailers to carry them? how about CoD and it's rivals? A few new levels, modes, guns, and gameplay changes does not require a $60 disc to be sent out... "Oh but what about the campaign?" Really? Do you REALLY think they care much abotu the campaign? Their advertising budget goes entirely to showing off the multiplayer. the single player is simply there so they have an excuse to jack the price up to $60. The bulk of the game's use if for multiplayer, so just release updates for it and have them pay DLC fees. if the fans want new campaigns, you can release DLC for that too. Team Fortress 2 has been running strong for years now, and i know the majority of their money comes from microtransactions, but maybe that's a sign that it's a system that WORKS. I won't get into sports games too much, because i dont play them... but i can't imagine that any systems have changed, or rosters changed to a point where they HAVE to put it all onto a brand new disc every year... So what are your thoughts?
  3. So, i'm starting to wonder if Season 3 will be a big disappointment... Everyone is hyping it up (including the makers of the show) And i can't help recalling how hype has disappointed me in the past... The Wii, the 3DS, Conduit, Sinister, plenty of other games and movies... I'm just worried that all the hype will only make us all disappointed in this... Perhaps they need to calm down a bit so we dont set our expectation on the moon?
  4. I think you're just a twisted mind... nothing wrong with that though, it didnt take me but a second to realize what you meant, so i'm no better. =P
  5. Hehehe, good advice, i wasn't planning on it though... But yeah, collared shirt, combed hair... maybe a Dash pin on my collar to show my pride, hehehe
  6. OH GOD! Dangit Rose! Why did you have to take an innocent comment and make it look bad like that D=
  7. If you wanted some help with RPing, i could kinda train you... We could do a 1x1 RP and i'd teach you the ropes, and we'd see how things went, then you could work on going for a larger scale RP.

    Insomnia

It's not as bad as that, but i often have issues getting to sleep... i toss and turn, and i'm usually not tired at night... I find myself having to get up to pee every few hours too, so that's an issue... but then sometimes i can sleep for 12 hours without any issues.
  9. Gotta hate stupid people with too much money... I havent had it happen persay, at least not like that... but I can imagine it being annoying to think a friend is a fan and then it turns out he was being a jerk
  10. Lol, indeed it does =3 Lol, it does seem legit, yeah. As for traveling to DC, she said she plans to run around to find people, but a few meetups she wanted to visit were too short of notice to get to. So if she's planning on coming down here to Georgia for me, she's probably willing to go to DC too. That's really nice ^_^ you should email that to her, i'll send the email address in a PM, i just dont want to leave it out in the open for her to get spammed with "I LUV PWNIES!" or something by some rogue agent.
  11. So i got a message from a woman at NBC who wants to interview me about thew brony culture... And frankly i'm excited! now, we havent exactly set up a date for the official interview, but when i called her up she seemed very interested. I mentioned how i enjoy the creativity the culture seems to have, and i used the phrase 'My little pony is good, but it's more of the glue that brings these creative people together." and i think that's what really got her attention because she mentioned wanting different viewpoints of the fandom. So since the call, i've been pretty antsy, i sent her an email giving her more information (including EQD and the Know Your Meme article on bronies) about the fandom and some personal favorite videos that i liked to accompany my comments about 'the creativity of the fandom' She really seems to be interested in showing the light of the fandom, she really seems interested in getting hard facts and opinions from bronies. If she wanted to make fun of us or make us looks bad, she could have EASILY just made up some **** after reading a few paragraphs and put it into a report, but she's willing to travel all over to interview Bronies about the fandom. So that's why i'm posting, she's apparently having issues getting willing volunteers to accept an interview, either due to lack of interest, concern about being on TV, or other reasons like age or their position at work or something... So would anyone be interested in being interviewed? or does anyone know of any meetups that may be open for the cameras? if not, at least someone who's willing to email their opinion on the fandom (like how you discovered the show, what's keeping you around, etc.) If you're interested i'll give you her email and you can talk to her yourself.
  12. Yeah, that would probably be this video Which is crazy...
  13. So, over the years Copyright lawsuits have been annoying me... like kids getting sued for hundreds of thousands of dollars for downloading the equivalent of a CD's worth of music, and teens going to jail for sharing their music with friends. Entertaining youtube videos being taken down because they used a song they didn't technically own... It's all fairly annoying, and as much as i would like to say 'Let people use stuff for free!" I can't help but feel sympathy for the creators of original content not getting credit for their work. Imagine making an amazing song, then seeing a commercial for a Sony product with your music in the background and not getting credit or compensation... So i wanted to come to you with some thoughts about fair copyright laws that would both benefit the creators of original content, along with the music listening community. So, first of all, how much will the company get for the 'stolen' content. most of the stories i hear include thousands of dollars and jailtime, which i believe is unfair... a more fair charge i think would be the value of the song(s), movies, games and episodes, plus a 50% fee for taking it from a non-regulated source. That way the company will get the value of the song, along with a bonus for the theft of the content. as for jail time, i find this to be unfair to the taxpayers. They pay for the incarceration of the offenders, while the company itself doesn't even earn money from offender for the charge. I believe if the company demands that the perpetrator should be jailed, they should pay for the funds required to keep him fed and housed. That will discourage the company from trying to use jailtime as a scare for offenders (while still keeping it an option) And not hurting taxpayers for the company's personal fight. now, that's mainly for personal use... now for those who use it in their youtube videos or whatever, I think there should be a sort of 'usage fee' Where a person can purchase the rights to use the song for their videos. Say $10 for a song, plus a percentage of the revenue they might get from the video.(from ads, or advertising for a site or product, like if they had a video advertising a $1000 motorcycle, than the music co would get a percentage of the profit from it.) I think these are just two simple ways for the creators of content will get more money than trying to sue a handful of people for amounts that no regular person could pay, while still discouraging offenders from stealing content. So do you have any thoughts on copyright laws, punishments, etc that would be fair to the offender, while still giving money to the artist and creators?
  14. http://www.etsy.com/shop/DoubleRainboom So i decided to try and make some money off of the random crafts i've made... So i opened a shop in hopes of getting some spare cash... Right now i got some Pony stamps, my Pony trophy, and some other stamps, planning on putting some more stuff on there soon. Wanted to share in hopes of some help in finding customers.
  15. What the others said... he's a kid... weird and self hazardous obsessions are for adults =P *hides pokemon collection* but yeah, make sure you try and get him into other things too, crafts, video games, movies, books... give him plenty to do so he doesnt focus all his attention on one thing... nothing wrong with being knowledgeable as long as it's not all he's doing at that age.
  16. not like download or youtube or anything... i was just hoping that whatever channel hosts the show would have clips or something, and i'm too lazy to google it and rummage through the bad links...
  17. Y'know the only thing i've seen about that show was a clip where he had a street fighter-esque character in his kitchen... that was pretty funny, but other than that i know nothing... can anyone link me to episodes?
  18. but it's not like i'm the only one... others agree, so i'm sticking with them. i think its better and i'm sticking with.
  19. Okay, well since most people generally support the leer-a case, i'm still calling her that =3 I dont care if it's based on a lyre, Leera sounds better. unless she gets canon'ed in the show
  20. And here's your VIP membership card, sir... How tough am I? HOW TOUGH AM I??? I came to this thread and didnt follow the preconceived posting regulations. -Yeah so? ... i just did... -I dont get it. That's how tough i am... -... ... -...

  22. getting a free dozen donuts cause the place was closing and they didnt want to throw any out... Okay, no, that's not my highlight, i swear... I think it would be one of two things... 1: In english we were reading Fahrenheit 451, so we were to do a project where we presented our idea of the future... most everyone had crappy poster, dull powerpoints, but my powerpoint had music, awesome pictures of futuristc cars virtual reality, etc... but what really got them was when i pulled the rug out fro munder them and said that most people lived on the moon now while people on earth were dealing with diminishing resources, poverty and a zombie outbreak. A+ on that project ^_^ 2: Senior projects. for those who dont know its a year long project where at the end we give a big presentation in front of judges for a huge chunk of our grade. short version is my lit teacher was against me the entire way of the project, and during the two practice presentations where she graded our performance, i got a 60 and a 69... she gave me a whole list of BS that she thought needed to be changed, but i barely did anything to it because i thought it was great the way it was... So after i presented to the judges, i got a 99 from them, only losing a point for a piece of my folder was missing... that was the biggest 'Buck You' moment to that teacher in my mind......
  23. I thought it was on welovefine's recent contest...
  24. I started pronouncing it "leer-uh', but i mostly hear people say "lie-ra'... i prefer the first cause i think it sounds prettier :3 but i dunno for sure...
