  1. I think it's kind of hilarious that just before he said that, he was wearing a unicorn horn and ears. although I have no idea why he was doing that.
  2. Definitely Twilight Sparkle. I'm hyper organized, I get panic attacks if I'm off my schedule, and I prefer the company of books to people. I have a small group of friends, but they're my only friends. And I'm completely happy this way.
  3. Currently re-reading The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury. I love all his books except Fahrenheit 451, which is ironic as that's the only one anyone else has heard of.
  4. Yeah, it's for a linguistic anthropology class. It's an absolutely terrible class, I thought adding ponies would make it a little more interesting. and Ponify is an app for some web browsers (I can't remember what besides Firefox) that changes text on websites to 'ponified' words. You can install it here: http://pterocorn.blogspot.com/2011/10/ponify.html
  5. Not my intent, really, just trying to get into researcher mode so I can do this project.
  6. The topic of the essay is to focus on a particular social group and the language used among the group. I've picked bronies because we do have our own language--'somepony' instead of 'somebody', 'hooves' instead of 'hands', etc. I need quotes from members of this community for the essay, so I have some questions for you all. 1. Do you ever speak in this 'brony language' outside of the MLP fandom? Is this in other online communities or offline? 2. Does the way we speak to each other in the fandom have different grammatical rules than standard American English? (I use SAE because as far as I know the majority of bronies are American, feel free to talk about your own native language if I'm wrong) 3. Has using the 'brony language' affected the way you think? If you say somepony instead of somebody, are you reminding yourself to love and tolerate? 4. Have you used the Ponify app? How has that affected the way you interact with others online?
  7. I would believe it, but it's this comment that makes me hesitant. No honest police officer would say that, and of course throwing a 15 year old kid out is illegal.
  8. http://inspiredbyponies.blogspot.com/ Basically, I make things that are pony-inspired, and I post instructions on how to make them. I'd give you pictures as examples but for whatever reason I tried posting this with pictures three times and it refused to go through, so you'll just have to visit the site to see what I do.
  9. This Is Halloween from Nightmare Before Christmas is always a good one. also this:
  10. For school, I'm reading Hamlet. For myself, I'm rereading Choke by Chuck Palahniuk,
  11. Mostly I'm a student, but I don't get money from that, so I'm also a cashier at McDonald's. I'm getting into freelance writing, which is nice because I don't really have to work under anyone, but the work I get is very little. Hopefully after I graduate, I'll get more.
  12. I'm not sure about the movie, but I really want to see the play.
  13. I walk around listening to this on my iPod because it actually makes me hold my head up and be a little more present. Otherwise I'm the look at the ground, go out of my way to avoid bumping into anyone kind of person.
  14. I've never done anything, but I've been told I have a good voice, so I'd like to try and help if I can. I also can write some, but I've never written anything pony. Kind of new to this all.
  15. Pro: Never stuck in traffic again! Con: Dead bugs stuck in your teeth. X-ray vision
  16. I have seen a lot of overlap between the fandoms. I actually got into ponies trying to figure out just who this Doctor Whooves was.
  17. Pro: You'll never have to lift anything again. Con: Your muscles will atrophy because you'll never use them. an extra set of legs
  18. The weekend before Halloween I'm seeing my favorite band in concert. So actually on Halloween I'll probably have to catch up on homework. But I will be doing it while pigging out on fun size candy bars and watching horror movies.
  19. Right now, I'm in a dorm. so no pets. I have a dog at home though. A black spaniel mix named Kaylee. I used to have a spaniel/papillon mix named Molly, but she was put to sleep last year. I had her for 7 years, so that was really hard. I had an albino rabbit that we found in our front yard, named her Cadbury, but gave her away when my family moved. And I also had two degus (rodents similar to squirrels), named Giles and Xander, but my parents didn't want to take care of them when I went to college, so had to give them away.
  20. I wrote a cookbook that's in the process of being published. it's been out of my hands for about a month now, but I'm still having thoughts every so often of "holycrap I'm really an author" It's great.
  21. I don't publicly announce it, but I'm not subtle either. I have a few friends who are diehard bronies and I just mostly keep to talking about it with them. I am trying to convert a few people, but only those that I already know well enough to know they'll like the show.
  22. These are some of the best and most addictive cookies I have ever had. It's a family recipe (although knowing my family it's from the back of a box or something). Ingredients 2 egg whites 1 cup sugar ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar 12 oz mini chocolate chips Preheat oven to 350°. Beat egg whites with an electric mixer until very stiff. Gradually add the sugar and cream of tartar and continue to beat until you get a meringue-like texture. Fold in the chocolate chips. Drop the cookies in teaspoon-size drops onto the cookie sheet. They will not spread, so you can fit them close together. Place the cookie sheet in the oven and turn off the heat. Do not open the door, and leave the cookies in the oven overnight.
  23. seems like it's going to be interesting here. and now that I've made my required third post, I'm off to post and lurk. mostly lurk.
  24. so I am a little more awake now (not really, it's midnight) so I can say a little more about me. I'm a college student, MLP is great escapism. I'm really mostly a lurker on forums, but you might see me posting rarely, when something really catches my interest. and my favorite pony is Rainbow Dash.
