The Revolution Saga, Part Two: Invasion OOC (Open for Applying!)

Recommended Posts

Dang, stuff's going down quick. Sorry I haven't posted yet. I just got home last friday, first time being back in a year. I've been a tad preoccupied. I'm reading through the RP now and trying to figure out what I can do to add BonBon into the mix. On that note, thanks for accepting my app. It was kinda fun to write.

Name: Chronarch (original name: Regulus)

Age: Over 500

Appearance: Large built stallion, looks to be in the prime of life. White coat and black a slicked back mane. His tail is tied off at the end with a white ribbon. Both his mane and tail are black with a gold and an amber streak through them. His eyes are amber.

**Updated: Chronarch is now usually bound head to hoof in white leather armor with gold trimmings and a large dagger holstered on his side. His right eye is covered by an eye an eye patch and his right foreleg is bandaged. The ensemble is completed with a red an gold hooded cloak that uses the G.E.F. emblem as the clasp.

Gender: Stallion

Faction: Grand Equestrian Federation

Occupation: G.E.F. Arch Mage, Twilight’s personal consultant, and when the need arises, heavy magical combat unit.

Goal/ Motivation: To serve the G.E.F. and Red Fox.

**Updated: To protect Twilight Sparkle and guide her in whatever endeavor she takes up.

Background Story (Condensed): After Luna’s fall Chronarch and Equestria’s circle of mages started to doubt the integrity of their immortal rulers and decided to create contingency plans in case Celestia became corrupt. Celestia made a decision that angered the nation, forcing Chronarch and the Circles hand. Chronarch led the coup, but at the final confrontation with Celestia he learned that one of the magi was a double agent. Celestia offered a deal, and all of the other magi took it leaving Chronarch to face them all down alone. He killed all of the magi and stalemated Celestia until she pulled out her trump card, the crystal stasis spell, sealing him in magical crystal for five hundred years until Twilight(Red Fox) released him.

He swore his allegiance to the G.E.F. and Red Fox becoming both sword and Polymath for the nations new order.

**Updated: Once Red Fox revealed herself as Twilight Sparkle, Chronarch couldn’t help but notice that the mare shared his unique hair which was carried solely by magically gifted unicorns in his family lines. He was an only child and his parents were died at a young age, but he was married, he confirmed his suspicion through a time scry. Twilight was his ancestor. He revealed this to her before the destruction of Equinia, allowing their relationship to evolve past one of master and subordinate, to one of distant family and friends.

After Chronarch transported Twilight to the recently devastated capital, he entered the Aether in an attempt to quickly locate rescue Twilight’s adopted foal. He failed in that endeavor but saved hundreds of innocents during his time in the plane; however, he was injured far more grievously than he let on, causing his power to grow uncontrollably and compromising his mental stability.

During the reconstruction and restoration of Equinia Chancellor Rainbow Dash expressed her desire to spend time with Chronarch. She took him a bar in the Celestial Quarter for a drink and a moment of relaxation. The peace was then shattered by a terrorist bombing, targeting the Chancellor. Not fully recovered from his prior stunt, he was force to strain his abilities again to save Rainbow Dash and as many innocents as he could. The stress from new injuries and his magic, in the end, proved too much for the Stallion. After dragging himself and Dash out of the rubble, he fell into a coma.

Hmm...everything seems to be in order, Sunlight.

Chronarch: Reaccepted!

Also, sorry for the slight rush in posts, Frost  but it isn't as bad as one period during Part 1 of the Revolution Saga...Val told me that in two days, 30-40 posts were made. Ridiculous...simply ridiculous.

Name: Queen Chrysalis

Age: A lady never tells

Gender: Female

Race: Changeling

Faction: Freelancer (True loyalties are questionable)

PoB/Location: Royal Hive. / Freelancer base "Avalon"

Appearance: Little of Chrysalis appearance has changed. She is still as much the dominating & seductive creature she ever was. She tends to keep her hair under control more than she used to. And she tends to dress as befits a queen when not in combat.

History: (For canon info visit http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Queen_Chrysalis)

After the destruction of The Royal Hive Chrysalis lie dying amongst the ruins of her once great empire her will to live slipping away. Then ponies came to her rescue; or so she thought. Her captors were Crystal Army. They whisked her away upon a train. Luckily for the Queen she was saved from Pierrot's clutches by Freelancer agents & taken to secure location to regenerate & recuperate. Upon awaking it was discovered parts of her memory had been lost. (To explain any old RP I don't know of)

By the way; if anyone wishes to take up one of the Revenant spaces in the Chevalier sub-faction of the Crystal Army, you can. The following Revenants available are;

Revenant of Gluttony

Revenant of Greed

Revenant of Sloth

Revenant of Envy

These Chevaliers are basically the elite amongst the elites, with magical power near Alicorn/Twilight strength. Very dangerous. If they go into their Final Forms...well, let's say you shouldn't be within a ten-mile radius when they do. Just a word of advice. Revenants, by appearance, are generally more normal looking, as are their Final Forms, and their instincts are under much better control than most Chevaliers (with the exception of Gluttony, for obvious reasons. Probably has less self-control.)

Hmm...seems Nova's influence grows. I suppose we could use Chrysalis once more; revive the Changeling race from it's ashes, right?

Chrysalis: Reaccepted.

Reborn? We like that. We are the eternal monarch! From the conflagration we arise anew! None shall escape our wrath! All of Equestria will feel the white hot flames of our retribution!

Name: Fletcher Justice

Age: Adult

Gender: Male

Race: Earth Pony

Faction: Grand Equestrian Federation

Sub-Faction: Shade Corps

Place of Birth/Starting Location: Filydelphia (place of birth and residence); Equinia (residence and starting location)

Physical Appearance: Slightly taller than most bucks and with an athletic build, his coat is a beige colour and his slightly messy mane is jet black. His eyes are an emerald colour.

Cutie Mark (If available): An arrow hitting a magnifying glass with a shattered glass

History (Back Story): Fletcher was born in Filydelphia. His father was a police officer, whilst his mother, a Pegasus, was a weather manager. Fletcher attended his local primary school, where his teachers noted that he had a 'keen eye for solving problems that do not have an obvious solution'. In particular, he excelled in Mathematics and History. He was considered an above average student in those subjects and with his skill, he obtained a scholarship to a boarding school in Canterlot. Being a middle class foal attending a school for upper class ponies and with a provincial accent, Fletcher was looked down by others but gradually his peers came to accept him. He worked as hard as he could and upon graduating, attended the University of Filydelphia, graduating with a degree in History. He enlisted in the Royal Equestrian Army soon afterwards as an intelligence officer. He was present at the events of the Great Purge, Stalliongrad, as a newly graduated Second Lieutenant at the time. He attempted to do his job by trying to stop the atrocities at first by ordering the ponies under his command to stop, but with orders to stand down from his superior, Fletcher just watched as ponies were executed, buildings were looted and as soldiers celebrated among the gore that now comprised much of Stalliongrad. He was powerless and Fletcher questioned on whether this government could truly keep order. However, he didn't see the NEO as being much better.

His reward for his role in Stalliongrad was the rank of First Lieutenant. As an intelligence officer, much of what he did was classified and upon the destruction of Canterlot, all records were lost. Much of what he did is attributed to urban myth; his role was within counterintelligence and his ruthless efficiency lead to the capture and summary execution of many a NEO operative and NEO sympathizers. His work was consistently applauded by his superiors and whilst his identity remained secret, in the loyalist media rumors circulated of an intelligence officer who was consistently feared by agents in deep undercover who would so easily root them out. He would be promoted to Captain as the war reached it's climax with the destruction of Canterlot. It was here that he and his platoon made the decision to defect to the rebellion in face of inevitable defeat and he supplied a number of classified documents to the rebellion. However, he destroyed most records regarding himself and others were destroyed by NEO rebels unintentionally who were unaware that it contained information regarding him. If the numbers of how many operatives lost their lives because of Fletcher's work prior to his defection was found, then it is likely that the rebels, enraged that he had been responsible for the death of many a rebel operatives, would of executed him as well.

Once the Grand Equestrian Federation was founded, Fletcher was assigned to the Shade Corps as one of it's earliest officers. His role was to root out the remaining royalists and upon their establishment, Royal Liberation Front agents and other enemies of the state. His use of traditional detective techniques, combined with torture and psychological attacks on those he interrogated was noted by his superiors. He was assigned to gather intelligence regarding the Royal Liberation Front and he went in deep cover. Entire ambushes would be foiled because of information gathered by Fletcher and he was able to maintain his cover for quite some time before he and his unit was discovered. However, he was able to make a quick escape, although he did lose many men. Their loss scarred Fletcher; he didn't have any particular attachment to politics but he saw a serviceman as heroes and he felt that he was responsible for the men under his command. They had failed their duty because of him. Fletcher wasn't scarred by this and he eventually let go of the loss, instead focusing on his new assignment.

Feeling that their loss was because of his lack of training in self-defense, Fletcher spent more time at the weapons range and increased his proficiency with the pistol, a weapon that could easily be concealed and then quickly brought out when needed. As a result of his extended training, Fletcher is regarded as one of the best pistol marksmen in the Federation. Fletcher was promoted to the rank of Major and he was assigned command of a counterintelligence unit, code named Phalanx, with a counter-terrorism role. However, their failure in gathering vital intelligence that could of prevented the Celestial Quarter terrorist attacks resulted in the permanent reassignment of Phalanx. Phalanx is now a part of Operation Blindlight, with a mandate to provide counterintelligence against Crystal Army operatives, to gather intelligence regarding Crystal Army logistics and espionage within the Crystal Empire itself.

Character Summary: Fletcher is politically apathetic, having fought for the Royalists and the New Equestrian Order. He is a strong believer in order over chaos. Whilst he isn't a mercenary, he fights for the faction that he thinks can best provide order, which is the Grand Equestrian Federation. However, he is highly unlikely to defect. He isn't a cold hearted pony, but neither is he the most empathetic one you can meet. He just does his job for the state. His use of traditional detective methods over more modern ones is notable, however it has lead to surprising success. He is skilled with the usage of the shotgun and the pistol, being highly accurate with the latter and the shotgun being the weapon of preference for him, in addition he is able to fly aircraft ranging from small utility craft to business jets. His cutie mark and name represents what he does; whilst he doesn't go out and capture Freelancers, RLF agents etc, his work is like the work of a fletcher, who makes the arrows for an archer to kill his opponent.

His role was to root out the remaining royalists and upon their establishment, Royal Liberation Front agents and other enemies of the state. His use of traditional detective techniques, combined with torture and psychological attacks on those he interegated lead him to being described in a Shade Corps report as being 'our very own Filydelphian Ripper'. His greatest enemy had to be the Freelancers, the pony-supremacists. A RLF agent was easy to him, but a Freelancer was different. They were well-trained, able to evade capture and then establish a new identity. The once hidden group was a challenge to him. Fletcher himself received an invitation to join the Freelancers and made a failed attempt to go undercover in the organisation. His belief of order over chaos was too strong whilst he was politically apathetic, he saw the Grand Equestrian Federation as being the best faction to provide security and order.

Fletcher did one of the most controversial things in his career as his encounters with the Freelancers grew. He interrogated captured Freelancers to learn their methods and techniques and used. Whilst he didn't learn much, his weapon proficiency improved with the shotgun and the handgun and he was inspired to obtain a private pilot. Having learnt these techniques, he was promoted to Commander and he was assigned command of a special unit, 'Phalanx Squadron', a unit designed officially as a counter-terrorism unit, but in reality, it's role was counterintelligence against the Freelancers. It was a game of cat and mouse, with Freelancers being caught only to escape again. The unit's unofficial motto was 'a good Freelancer is a dead Freelancer'. However, this line of work quickly ended due to the rise of Pierrot. Phalanx Squadron was quickly deestablished and Commander Fletcher Justice is currently awaiting reassignment in light of this new threat.

Good bio but some parts like the captured Freelancers and learning their knowledge section I disagree with for story-wise reasons and the ''Ripper' section feels like a ripoff from my character's storyline, Freelancers haven't been captured since the GEF got lucky by capturing a low-ranking agent. They wouldn't blurt out all their secret under just a little interrogation in fact they wouldn't say much at all, I would advise changing that and the part about him being recruited into Freelancer and then suddenly changing his mind to join the GEF. They already have a sizable pool of loyal recruits and they wouldn't employ outside sources if there was a large possibility the asset would defect. Agent Virginia/Applebloom is an exception because she's useful to their cause and has so far not defected, however why not change it to something related to the Crystal Empire or the Chevaliers since their a much bigger and credible threat to Equestria than Freelancer is.

For example Fletcher could be in charge of a military intelligence division that works best against Chevalier logistical movements and deployment planning or anti-Crystal Empire activities including ambushes and counterintelligence campaigns against Crystal Empire counterparts.

Thank for you advise mate. I'll rectify my bio in light of this. I just read your character application and realised that it was overly similar in regards to the 'Ripper' part. Just to say, I had no intention of plagiarism but I will change that part regardless.Thank for your advise regarding the Freelancers as well, the information regarding them was a little vague so I was using my sense of presumption.

That's fine, the reason why I'm holding information back about Freelancer is mainly story-related spoilers. However app-related info involving Freelancer will need my permission just to make sure it lines up with canon and to make sure it doesn't reveal any spoilers, If it's off or needs changing I'll let you know.
