The carts rolled along the road on the way to Helgen with Stormcloak rebel’s on them. There was more than just the lowly Stormcloaks on here, their leader Luna was here as well, gagged and bound. The stormcloaks were all looking down, like they knew that they were all going to die. Luna was also looking around, wondering how she was going to lead them out of this mess though she doubted she could. Luna knew where they were being taken. She and the Stormcloaks in these carts were being transported to Helgen for execution. On one particular cart there was five ponies who didn't have stormcloak armor on, though they didn't have imperial armor on either. They were bound like the rest even though they didn't look like they had any allegiance as all they had on was old rags and worn out shoes, as if they had just been caught on the road and sent to be executed.

“HA, so this is the great Luna, who shouted our beloved king to death. Now that you're all gagged and bound you ain't so tough are ya. I cant wait to see your head roll” The imperial driving the cart which held luna taunted to her.

The guard who was walking next to the cart with the other five looked back at them and one by one he taunted them. The first pony that caught his eye was the first unicorn, and one he recognized. It was Tact Ician, his brown coat looked worse for wear. “Well well, look how the tables have turned, Ician. You said i wasn’t worthy of being an Imperial Soldier, yet look at it now. You’re the traitor, and i’ll be there as your head comes off” He laughed at Ician, once telling him he was unworthy, he would now watch his head come off.

He looked to the next pony, a bat pony at that. He looked slightly tougher than your average pony, and was one of the many fools who followed Luna in her war. Such a strange creature, he recalled seeing him wielding a large, 2-handed weapon “Look at you now, feather brain, not so tough when you haven’t got a huge blade, probably compensating for something anyway” He laughed at his own joke.

The next pony he looked at was another unicorn, this one however, he didn’t know. The unicorn was blue, and had been detained some distance away from where Luna had been captured. “As for you, you’re even worse. You betrayed the traitors, and still didn’t get away. Tough break for you, but i guess Karma really does catch up to us all in the end”

The next pony, was another bat pony. This one however, was different. The only female in the cart, with blue all over her body. He snorted at the mare, as she was staring straight at her cuffs on her wrists. “And another freak show, what a surprise. Though, you’re kinda cute, could help you escape here, if you give me what i want..” He winked at her to get his meaning across, eyeing her up again before moving to the final member in the cart.

The final pony was a regular pegasus, with his head in his hands, almost as if they were praying. He shook his head, assassins and thiefs, all the same. “And finally, we have Stormcloak’s private pet. You look like you would make a memorial to each grain of sand that the traitor Luna walks upon. Rebel Scum. You’ll all be dead soon enough, and the sooner, the better i say!”

Sky was chanting a prayer. "Nocturnal give me strength, i call apon thee to set me free". He said that four times before raising his head when he heard the insults. The guard had gotten his attention, which was something that wasn't good to gain from a thief, or from anyone who could fight back.

“And another freak show, what a surprise. Though, you’re kinda cute, you could escape here, if you give me what i want.." As the guard said that to the female bat, he looked up. The guard was right, she was kinda cute but sky just ignored it before saying "Ha, you actually think she would do that with someone as cruel and ugly as you?"

"And finally, we have Stormcloak’s private pet. You look like you would make a memorial to each grain of sand that the traitor Luna walks upon. Rebel Scum. You’ll all be dead soon enough, and the sooner, the better i say!”

Sky glared at the imperial "The power of lady Nocturnal shall set me free, you shall not drench this flame" He would say back in a bit of a puzzled accent. He then said in his normal voice "Try all you might" He then smiled as he looked at the other's in his cart

"Looks like we are all heading towards the same spot for the so called Execution, and if we are to bleed together, we should know each other on a first name basis, im Sky" He would say before spitting at the guard.

Midnight heard someone refering to her, and she glanced up at the guard as he winked at her. She knew what he was implying, and nothing would give her more pleasure than to wrap the cuffs on her wrists, and put them around his neck till he stopped breathing. She heard another prisoner almost stand up for her, but it was pointless. The pegasus' action would achieve nothing, other than imply he thought she couldn't take care of herself.

"The only thing i want to give you, guard, is a hole in your neck to match the one where your brain should be" she retorted, seeing the look of annoyance on his face at being rejected. She looked down again, as she finally managed to move the lockpin into her hand. It was a slow process, but now she would be minutes away from escaping, she would just need a distraction.

She looked at the Pegasus, Sky. She shrugged, if she was gunna die, why die alone?

"M-midnight. I, i think i remember you, Sky. You were with Jarl Luna when the ambush occurred, weren't you? I think i recall you during the fight.."

The grey Unicorn looked around and down to the bound princess he took a deep breath and questioned his inner morality

If we escape then we will likely have to harm these guards doing there jobs right now. These ponies may also be guilty.

However no one deserves to take the life of another no matter the crimes. Also this is an Allicorn! I cannot alloy some one just execute her.

He looked to the others and listened to Sky and midnight. He nodded to Sky and calmly said, “My name is Pariah Cross, I am here for a crime I don’t exactly understand, as I am new to this land called Skyrim. Hopefully we will be able to solve this ... problem we are in peacefully. I have the feeling if we remain calm and logical it will all work out.”

I wonder how it came to this. Ician stared impassively forward, dressed only in his tattered rags, piecing events together as best he could. Then again, I suppose I should have expected it. My dear quaestor always had that lust for power. I should have seen it coming. He sighed briefly. Pity, that. But at least Luna will die, and the war will end. Skyrim will be reunified... maybe we can turn some of this Stormcloak anger against the Dominion. They deserve it a lot more than the Empire does.

He heard the guard issue his bit of mockery. Shaking his head, he glanced at the guard. "Did I call you unworthy, Shield? It seems like such an eternity ago." He allowed a thin smile to settle on his lips. "You've become a fine soldier. And it's been an honour to serve by your side." He eyed the guard critically. "Of course, your blocking could still use some work. And your swinging technique isn't quite as good as it could be. But I'm confident that your... next... prefect..." He inhaled slowly, "... will take care of it." Sighing loudly at the thought of he who had betrayed him, he said to the guard coolly, "I'm not a traitor, by the way. I'm sure you'll find that out in time. But on a more important note... I don't recall talking to - and flirting with, as it happens - the prisoners as part of your directive, Shield. You are escorting the highest value target since the war began. I advise you to keep a look out for Stormcloaks ambushing us. It would be quite the disaster if they managed to free Luna, don't you think?"

He heard Sky introduce himself and Midnight's and Pariah's answer. He himself did not speak, simply gazing towards them with a neutral gaze, and then turning said gaze back to the road.

Darkness listened to them, not making any motion to join in these conversations, they were pointless and futile for they were all going to be executed. He sighed, "Jarl Luna, I am sorry I have failed you," he said to her as he sat near her in the cart, but that was all he said, then closed his eyes and waited as the cart moved along. He listened the the guard as he past by and chuckled as he made a remark about Darkness and his weapon, wishing he could show him up about it, but as it is he would be lucky to show any skills of his ever again. To think his life came to this, one point in his life he was a lead soldier in the Stormcloak army, now he is going to be another corpse on the fire. but that's what you get when the entire world betrays you, leaves you for dead.

He looked up to see who his deathmates were, he saw a few stallions, and a nice looking mare, but she didn't interest him. He had swore, upon joining the Stormcloaks, if he couldn't win Luna's heart he would die alone, guess one of his ideas were fulfilled. He then hung his head once more and started to hear voices from a town, they were getting close.

Sky had laughed at the bat's response to the guard. Sky looked at the guard then laughed while saying "I hope that the daedric prince of madness forgives you" . After sky said that he listened to the names of the people he was traveling with.

"M-midnight. I, i think i remember you, Sky. You were with Jarl Luna when the ambush occurred, weren't you? I think i recall you during the fight.."

Sky would look at the bat, who was named Midnight as it seemed. Sky would respond with "Seems my reputation procedes me, Yeah im sky. I still cant believe that Luna just gave up, i got captured even though i had no allegence to her, yet" Sky would reply with, he said the last part looking at Luna.

My name is Pariah Cross, I am here for a crime I don’t exactly understand, as I am new to this land called Skyrim. Hopefully we will be able to solve this ... problem we are in peacefully. I have the feeling if we remain calm and logical it will all work out.”

Sky would then look at the Unicorn, who seemed to dislike the situatuon they were in, and he seemed to want to be a bit to Logical about it too.

"Yeah, if we stay calm we shall die, dont worry, i know we have plan's, Anyway, nice to meet you Pariah, im sky" Sky would reply with, lifting his hands up to stretch, he put them behind his back and then put them back infront of him.

Sky would then look at the one the guard called a traitor. He seemed to have decided to stay quiet.

"Cmon pal, whats ya name?"

As sky said that he sighed as he felt the binding's on his hands losen.

Midnight listened to Sky properly introduce himself, as well as the others in the cart with them.

"I'm sure she gave up for a reason Sky, after all, if we would have died on the battlefield before, it was a certain death. Although now, death is merely an option"

Midnight was careful with how she spoke, she didn't want the guard catching onto to what she meant. Sure, they were prisoners. But being a prisoner gave you a better chance of escape. She glanced her eyes down, at the handcuffs that were not on properly anymore. She'd managed to use the lockpick to free herself, before sliding it back into her hair, trying to act as inconspicuous as she could.

She looked at the unicorn who called himself Cross "Listen, the only 'peaceful' outcome is if we lie down and accept our fate under the Imperial's, which i'm tell you, i will not let happen. No way i'm just going to accept death, ever"

Cross listened to the fiery blue bat-girl. And turned to her saying

Violence is always an answer, but it is never the best answer.”

He looked around at the at the strong looking bat pony and the yellow unicorn who was mocking the guards and of course Luna the Alicorn

Pardon my lack of knowledge, but it appears most of you are caught up in a conflict that appears to be a rebellion against the Celestia’s empire?”

Ician glanced at Sky thoughtfully. It appeared that the pegasus didn't seem to remember who he was. No matter. He would remember in time. Or perhaps the process ought to be accelerated.

"My name is Ician." He said slowly. "I used to be a legionnaire. Strange how things turn out, isn't it?" He glanced out back towards the front of the carriage, shaking his head slowly. "Pity we have to die. To think, this could all have been avoided if... if..." He raised his head to the sky, staring into the wide blue expanse. "Too many ifs. Too many twists and turns. Let's just say the Great War could have been handled better. Not to anyone's fault at the time, of course; just looking back at it with the benefit of hindsight." He waved his hoof around the area, encompassing all the prisoners. "And what's the point in all of this? The Stormcloaks should have been fighting the Aldmeri Dominion, not the Empire. They are the true enemies. I'll admit the Empire hasn't been a shining paragon itself, but we're far from the true foes." He sighed heavily. "I don't know why I'm saying this now. The civil war is over. Our deaths are inconsequential, in the big scheme of things. I just hope that this truly means peace in our time."

Not that I'd bet on it. He thought.

(Il play....uuuummmmmmmmmmmm Luna is gagged...Il play Ralof)

"I'm sure she gave up for a reason Sky, after all, if we would have died on the battlefield before, it was a certain death. Although now, death is merely an option"

Sky chuckled at that, It was true, Luna did save them all by surrendering, if the battle had kept on going a lot more deaths would have occurred, them included. Sky clenched his fists, stretching them as they were very stiff. Sky then looked at the rest of the group. They all seemed nice. So far the two that had gotten his most attention was both Midnight and cross, who seemed very happy to see death in the face, which was something he was not going to do.

"We shall escape once Nocturnal grants us strength. Sky was trying, and managing as far as he knew, to seem like a delusional believer in Nocturnal. It was true he did worship her, though he wasn't delusional, in truth it was all a play

"My name is Ician."

At that sky would snap towards Ician.

"Huh, your lucky that i believe in second chances as is the will of Lady Luck" Sky had to say that last bit to maintain his illusion of him being delusional.

Violence is always an answer, but it is never the best answer.”

Sky would laugh, he didn't know what to say.

---------------------------------

Ralof was sittign next to Darkness, he would look at him and sigh. "Looks like they finally got us, we had many great battles together, it has been a honor serving"

As the carts arrived at the gates to Helgen the guard looked down and saw the carts with the prisoners arrive. He looked backwards and yelled that they had arrived, as he did that a response could be heard.

“And so the prisoners have arrived. It is about time, we’ve been waiting to have this done for many years. Now, get off in an orderly manner. Any of you attempt to run, you will be executed as you run. Try and fight, you will be executed. Now, before you die, you will be given a prayer to the gods for forgiveness”

“I dont want to have any part of this, i didnt do anything wrong” One of the prisoner’s would yell as he started running off, his hands still bound. As he was running he would hear the legate yell “Archers”. That was the last thing he heard before the arrow pierced his heart.

“Any others feel like running? No? Good, please proceed” The legate would say to the priest, who was here to give blessings to all of them before they were sent to aetherius. As she started to give the prayer she was interrupted by a stormcloak who walked straight up to the beheading stand. The stormcloak said “For the love of talos just shut up and get this over with”

“As you wish” The priest would say, irritated from being shut out. The executor walked behind the prisoner and kicked him to his knees. He then pushed his head down onto the stand.

“My ancestors smile upon me today imperial, can you say the same?” Would be the stormcloaks last words before the axe severed his head.

“As fearless in life as he was in death” Ralof would say as he saw his friend die.

In the distance a roar could be heard, though it was a fair distance away so no one payed it any attention.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Midnight watched from the back, and as the were moving out to the open. She remained at the back, watching, waiting. As the other Prisoner ran, she saw her opening. She moved, hiding behind her wagon, spotting an Imperial, with a bow and arrows...

She moved quickly, sneaking up behind the archer, and using her handcuffs to wrap it around his neck, tightening it until he stopped fighting back. She quickly scavenged his corpse, taking his bow, arrows, quiver, and his sword blade. It wasn’t the best weapons, but it would suffice for now. She dragged the body under the wagon, and stood at the back of the wagons, simply observing. The distraction had meant she had a better chance to sneak off after this and survive. And Survival under any cost was what she needed. Still, she looked at the ponies who she had been with moments ago, who now were facing death, as she would more likely to survive in comparison. Her eyes rested on Sky, she had little doubt he knew what she’d done, and he was probably countering on her to save him. But she was one assassin, against an army. She would have to use the shadow if she was going to do anything.

Cross watched as the prisoner ran off

“DON’T” he shouted but it was too late he was soon killed by a hail of arrows!

Cross gritted his teeth pulled his cuffs until bleed slightly around his hands. He fired off a quick healing spell repairing the small wound.

He got off the cart with the others and quickly noticed that Midnight was gone!

He said to himself

I hope the guards don’t notice and become aggravated! All right I can try to talk a way out of this and find a peaceful solution. And maybe the distraction will help midnight. If not im going to have to fight with my hands tied. Not a good odds either way but there the only choices I got.”

He waited until they could approach the man in charge, it would be best to negotiate with him.

he turned to his others he was chained up with and said "i can speak to the leader of these men I think i have an angle for our freedom."

"Such futility..." Ician muttered to himself as the prisoner ran. He'd been in the Legion long enough to know how events like these ended, and they played out exactly as he'd foreseen. Bows outs, arrows drawn back, and a dead prisoner just two seconds later. These soldiers had been trained well. It was perhaps one of his only points of solace at the moment.

He stepped off the cart, glancing back and doing a headcount for the prisoners out of habit. With little surprise, he noticed one of the prisoners were missing. Of course they would be. When do things ever go as planned?

"Hey." He said to the nearest guard. "Look sharp, soldier! Keep your eyes open! One of the prisoners escaped." For a moment he almost forgot that he himself was one of those prisoners. It seemed that he'd fallen into habit much more easily than he thought he would. "If I were you, I'd say the Stormcloaks are preparing an attack. Execute Luna quickly and be done with it, now! All the rest of us are worth far less than she is. Kill her and the war ends! Do it! Do it now!"

(Moon told me to skip her, she will be busy for awhile)

Sky had noticed Midnight sneak away from the group, though he didnt try and follow. If he did, he might ruin her chances of escape, he planned to get her out of here, he planned to get them all out if he could. Sky made a wave behind his back, he was waving to Midnight, saying good luck, i hope we meet again.

"i can speak to the leader of these men I think i have an angle for our freedom

Sky would turn and look at cross, who now seemed to think he could bargain his way out. "No use, the general does not seem interested in talking"

That was when sky would notice one of the prisoner's, the one who was still with the imperials, start walking towards a guard. As soon as he said hey, sky was already in action. With his cuffs gone he quickly put a arm over his mouth to muffle him. The guard had heard the voice though, and he was looking straight at sky, who was now using Ician as a human shield, and as Icians bindings were still on, it might be hard for him to get sky off him, though he knew it was possible.

"YOU WANT ME, COME GET ME"Sky would shout, prefering to die in a fight then by being beheaded,

The roar could be heard again, closer this time.

(Hey Midnight could you play some of the NPC guards?)

NPC post:

The guards noticed Sky's retaliation, and the archers drew their arrows, but didn't fire. They had orders, and they wouldn't fire unless they had to. A group of 3 Imperial guards moved towards Sky, blades drawn. They didn't want to kill the Ician, but they couldn't let the prisoner escape.

"Give it up son, there is no way you're getting out of this" One of them started getting really close, shield on his back, thinking that Sky wasn't dangerous.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Midnight heard one of the Prisoners tell the Imperial Guards that she'd escaped. She silently cursed him, why would he tell them that? He was a prisoner as well! She saw Sky making his move, and it caught a lot of guards' attentions. She moved herself, raising her bow as to try fit in with the other guards.

She stepped away from Sky, hearing a loud roar. She lowered her bow, and looked around. Whatever that noise was, surely it wasn't good news.

PONYFEATHERS!

Cross had no idea what was going on. With anything!

First just decided to help some travelers cross over the border to skyrim, now he was caught in some war he didn’t know the first thing about!

Either way the time for peace was done.

He had just enough slack on his shackles to lunge at the nearest guard and using the metal cuffs went to smack his jaw with a rising uppercut!

He did a quick healing spell on himself, jumped back and went behind Sky and shouted “I got your back, tell me if you need healing! the tree line over there is clear!

"Mm!" Ician gasped for a brief moment, then his temper flared for an equally brief moment before the icy cold of his calculations smothered it. He felt no anger towards this pegasus - well, not right now, at least. Now there was only the goal and the obstacle in the way.

His hand glowed with a purple light. "Grr... grah!" The light flashed for a second as his fingers went outstretched; then a little ways away the familiar form of a spectral wolf shimmered into existence behind both him and Sky. Wrenching his mouth free of the arm clamped down over it, he bellowed, "Sic 'em! And get him off of me"

On command, the faithful familiar lunged at Sky violently, trying to claw at the pegasus. Meanwhile, Ician's hands were now glowing with a blue-green light, and as soon as it was ready he unleashed the prepared Oakflesh spell across his body.

As Ician managed to get his mouth free sky gagged him yet again, but not before he told his summoned wolf to attack him. As he first lunged sky managed to put his meatbag in the way of the lunge, making Ician get clawed by his own creature. As he did that sky would look towards the guards, who had arrows lined up but hadnt fired yet.

I got your back, tell me if you need healing! the tree line over there is clear!

Sky would look at Cross. "We cant get that far, GET AWAY WOLF" Sky would yell as it came back, this time sky managed to kick it away. Sky saw the guards still looking at them. Sky then would look at Midnight, who was aiming her bow at the group but then she lowered it. Sky hoped she would survive this even if he didn't.

The roar was heard again, this time much louder. A shadow went over the area as the roar was heard.

Midnight simply watched the struggles of Sky and Cross. She wanted to help them, save them from the Imperials. But she looked around at the number of Imperials, and that just wasn't going to happen. She said a silent prayer for Sky and Cross, closing her eyes to do so. That's when she heard the roar again.

Midnight opened her eyes, and saw the shadow on the ground. In that second, she felt her blood run ice cold, with fear. She felt her fur stand on end, and felt cold consume her body.

No..That can't be right, that's impossible...

Midnight turned around, and looked up. And in those seconds, her biggest fear came true.

"T-that's not possible..This can't be real...Surely this isn't happening: she said to herself, before noticing nobody else was looking up!

She raised her bow at the sky, and fired a single arrow into it. Seconds later, there was a louder roar as her shot hit. She almost dropped her bow, it was real! It couldn't be such a thing, and yet, there it was, flying before her in the sky.

"Wake up you idiots!!! THERE'S A DRAGON!" She cried out loudly, unable to stop herself.

What the!

Thought cross to himself. “quickly everyone is distracted strike now to your advantage!” he said to himself

He spun around and while facing Sky performed his healing hoove magic spell. He was out of magica for now but it would recover soon.

Pariah would usually try to calm animals but since this one was a magical construct he had few qualms with hitting it.

After sky kicked it back pariah jumped forward and did a double hammer punch over its head! And a buck to the jaw.

Not waiting for retaliation and to see if his attack truly connected he jumped back and smacked a distracted guard with his shackles.

It’s a good thing I learned the way of the mustang double hoof fighting sytle

He jumped back to face the ethereal beast again with his guard up using the steel of the shackles to defend him self he had half his stamina left and could easly block even a strong attack!

He heard midnight cry out something about a dragon, thinking it was only a distraction, he couldn’t help but he looked to the clouds

“I am not having a good day”

Hm. For a moment, Ician's eyes glazed over as he retreated into his thoughts; then, they darted over from the familiar to the bound and gagged alicorn Jarl in a silent order. The spectral wolf disengaged from attacking Sky immediately and tore over to Luna, claws still outstretched as it attacked her with all the strength it could muster.

In the meantime, Ician's hand glowed purple again, marking the beginning of another Conjuration spell in the making. Just so... Moments later, an ethereal Daedric sword appeared in his grip, slightly above Sky's arm around him. He brought it down in a slash, hoping to catch his opponent off guard.

Then he noticed the dragon. ... Nothing according to plan, indeed. "Shield!" He shouted out. "This is a terrible time for this, but I told you so!" He pointed at the dragon. "Archers, raise your bows! Aim for the eyes and unarmoured areas! The rest of you, shields up and defend the archers! Battlemages, we need warding now!" He glanced over to Luna. "And will somepony please kill Luna already?! As if this isn't enough of an reason to make it quick!"

The guards didnt listen to him, they just started shooting back.

-----------------------------------

Sky saw the familiar running towards Luna, he knew he had to stop it though he also knew that he himself could not reach it in time. Sky was worried, he couldnt let luna be killed by this guys stupid pet wolf. Thats when he remembered someone who could save luna, someone who if he was correct, was pretty close to her.

"MIDNIGHT, PROTECT LUNA!"He would yell, knowing that the guards were too busy with the dragon to hear the yell. Thats when the sword was summoned. The moment sky saw the sword he moved his arm and jumped back. The blade made a cut in his arm as he jumped back though sky ignored it completely.

“I am not having a good day

"Yeah, neither am i....I hope you can help me beat this guy, we dont have weapons, our only hope is to doge and flank" Sky would say to cross before staring ician. That was when he noticed the dragon. Sky would sigh, knowing there escape was not one hundred times harder.

-------------------------------------

The dragon would land on the tower and do a shout, causing fireballs to rain from the sky

(Only Alduin can learn that one, it is soooo annoying)

Midnight heard Sky call out for her to protect Luna. She watched a wolf charge at her, and Midnight paused. Would she? If she fired at it, it would be picking a side in the war, and Neutrality was what kept her alive.

'I better get paid for this' She thought to herself, as she fired an arrow, hitting the wolf in the leg, crippling it, but not killing it.

Midnight ran up to Luna, quickly picking her hand-cuffs "Come on, Jarl, but i am expecting to get paid well for this" she growled, dragging Luna out and looking at a tower to run into. One of the guards came at her, and Midnight raised her bow, firing an arrow that killed him. Dragging Luna, she used the confusion from the Dragon to move towards Sky.

"Come on! In the tower! We can worry about who we're killing in your stupid war AFTER we escape that creature" she yelled at the stallions, opening the tower's door, and shoving Luna in.
