Lovesick in the Wasteland (Open to all changelings)

Bianca was surprised to have started this chain of approval for Kahz, but she was glad she did! She had never spoke to him, but word always got through the grapevine. From what she could tell, he was a talented changeling, and not just because he could sing! But, business and pleasure are separate, a rule Snively's nearby interrogation is no-doubt violating.

It was around this time one of the drones had come around with those drinks everyone seemed to be choking down. She figured she may as well get comfortable, taking an empty seat and taking one of those drinks for herself. Her horn glowed that familiar bright green as the glass was hovered over to her, the soldier changeling happily accepting it from... Well, herself.

Though the surprises weren't through, it seemed! Thankfully her attention was ripped away from that annoying fool of an Administrator, and back to the stage! A compliment and a toast was a very kind welcome-back from having to deal with those barbaric, bulbous bovines for as long as she did. Raising her glass to him, she took down her own drink, with a bit of a grimace. It had been awhile since she had any sort of concoction within her own hive... She'd have to work up her tolerance again. Either way, she was flattered the singer had bothered her. While a member of the court, it was easy for her to be under the radar at times, it seemed, being out in the field. Invasion specialists were hard to come by since Canterlot, it seemed.

Speaking of... Didn't the amnesiac say something about Canterlot?

She did! She must've got caught in the blast when the shield went back up. Probably suffered head trauma when she landed. Poor thing.

"Aren't there poisonous reptiles in the 'Sea of Ruin' you can annoy?" she asks of the Administrator, lounging comfortably in her seat. She's earned this. A time to relax, listen to some music, have some drinks... Sure, a quip or two at the Administraor was good fun, but there was only so much of him she could take... And she just got here!

Of course, she just kept thinking about what he said.

And I’m sure there’s a big fat promotion waiting for you when the Queen finds out how much you accomplished on your mission. You know how much the Hive depends on the information about the featherheads that you’ll give us, don’t you?

She was certainly looking forward to handing her report over to the Queen, but she just knew he had his filthy claws in that particular assignment. She wouldn't be surprised if he was the one who arranged to have her sent after the buffalo in the first place. Well, she'd show him.

She would tell the Queen about those miserable buffalo... And how easy they are to infiltrate. How much the nearby frontier settlements trust them after their peace agreement... And how defenseless those towns are. A few sheriffs against an invasion platoon? Like swatting flies. They could probably even take several citizens back alive with them!

A smile broke across her muzzle as she assured herself of this, and that her Queen would be proud... Maybe Bianca could make her even prouder, and take initiative! It was about time the hive had a victory to boost morale... She could take that town on with a hooffull of drones, and bring some back for the Queen to harvest! She would be so proud! So pleased! Maybe she WOULD promote her!

Happy thoughts. Happy place. Good singing. Drinks full of love. Minus Snively, this was fixing to be a good night.

She relaxed again, stealing herself another drink as the drone wandered by again. By now Kahz had started singing his second piece. An unorthodox style, to be sure, but... It was growing on her. Progressive, strong, and energetic. She liked it.

"Yeah... I don't remember anything before the day I woke up outside Ponyville. And apparently that was the day after the Canterlot invasion..." Flux said, looking at him as she raised her glass with her magic and took another drink from it.

Giving Bianca’s poor excuse of a snarky reply little heed, Snively merely snorted before turning his full attention to the amnesic drone. If this changeling claimed she has no knowledge of anything before the Canterlot invasion, that meant to Snively that only one logical reason could explain the loss of memory. No doubt the poor drone was someone who suffered an unfortunate head injury when those vile fleabags ejected Chrysalis’s host from Canterlot.

At the very least then, the mystery changeling seemed to be a member of the Hive. Lacking a reason to not take the drone for her word, Snively merely shrugged and advised an uncaring manner; “If you are indeed a subject of Queen Chrysalis, all I can offer is that you visit the Hall of Records during business hours and file a request with the appropriate clerk for a registry of citizens that never returned from the Canterlot assault. Other than that, there’s little I can do to help you get your memory back.” Seeing little reason to hang around some random drone, Snively didn’t wait for a reply before he started to walk away from the changeling in need. Perhaps a drink could serve the bureaucrat well right now.

Flux blinked a bit at the interruptions from Khaz and one other changeling she didn't know. Was Snively really all that bad? He seemed perfectly fine so far. The female turned back to the male as he spoke again, telling her to go to the Hall of Records to see a list of who didn't come back from the invasion. Well... If she really did come from here, her real name would be in there somewhere, but how would she know which one was hers?

She was about to ask him another question, but stopped herself as Snively walked off without another word, leaving her alone again as she listened to Khaz's next performance. She had to say, she liked Khaz and his taste in music. He was a fun one. Snively left something to be desired, but he wasn't all that bad in her opinion. she looked around for someone to talk to, and her gaze eventually rested on the other female that had spoken to Snively before. Flux picked up her drink as she moved to the other changeling's table, sitting down a respectable distance from the other female.

"Hiya! My name's Flux! Or, at least it is now, not sure what it was before." Flux said with a wide smile and a friendly wave. She then drained the rest of her drink, setting the empty cup down with a satisfied sigh.

(She's talking to Bianca, in case it wasn't clear enough.)

  • 1 month later...

Pestilence was relaxing enjoying the performance as he usually did this was his time off after all he was not traveling around which was nice and listening to music was his favorite thing to do.

Although he was always sour here when some of the patrons annoyed him he was generally friendly but he had to keep his reputation up as a ruthless spy always going into the inner kingdom to get information and partially because he enjoyed the time away.

Everyone knew him though as a sad little insect because he once aspired to sing but he was born with a defective exoskeleton at birth so he needed to be fixed but the operation went wrong and he had a voice problem he wheezed a lot and coughed but he can breath fine he can never sing though.

Pestilence Plague sighed in despair he loved music and singing, and especially Luxuria who he adored and admired because she was the beacon in this dark land she shone and shimmered and he couldn't help but admire her and as he sat there he looked over at Khaz the lucky guy, always somehow there with Luxuria, Pestilence would never admit it but he was jealous of Khaz.
