Midnight silently made her way to the weapon locker room, getting the locker number 50. The number itself didn't bother her, and it give her time to look at other people's weapons. The more she knew of her potential competition, the better she'd be if they were fighting one another. Once she did that, she re-entered the hall, seeing the split between boys and girls in the room.

She looked at what was left available, there was a spot near the middle...But she spotted Slash and, Tehengu? The human he was talking to, both there. The only other spot seemed to be at the window, where a girl had thrown her bag at someone. Sighing, she knew where she was sleeping tonight. She made her way near the middle, but on the girls side of the room. While it didn't bother her to sleep around boys, she didn't want to be the main attraction for the guys tonight. She popped her sleeping bag close to Tehengu's, before flopping down on it and resting her eyes. That's when she noticed the Human was in his sleeping bag and just staring up at the roof. Midnight suspected he was bored, and let out an audible sigh, before reaching into her pocket and pulling out another book, and gently throwing it at him. "....Here" She couldn't believe she was doing this "If you get bored...." She wasn't sure what to say, and partly regerted it, but too late now.

Tehengu knew someone was setting up nearby him, but he didn't really care to look and figure out who it was. He stared at the ceiling, thinking over some stuff until a book landed on his chest, accompanied by the voice of the female faunus Slash had been talking to. He picked up the book and looked at it for a moment before looking over at Midnight.

"Thanks. I'll be sure to get this back to you." He said, giving a friendly nod before laying back down and opening the book up. He wasn't really tired, so the book gave him something to do.

Slash smiled and said "I'm Slash. What about you, angel?". This girl was definitely the type that is confident and independent. Slash likes people like that, they don't have to be babysat or motivated.

Midnight shook her head "Don't bother" she lifted her the book she'd been reading before, and the title was the same "I've had that spare for ages" She thought about something, frowned, then looked back at Tehengu "It's Tehengu, isn't it?" She asked, just wanting to confirm what she suspected was true

Tehengu paused when Midnight said not to bother with returning it. He looked over at her in slight confusion, seeing that the bookshe held was the same one he had now. Why did she have two copies of the same book?

"Alright." He said simply before she asked for confirmation on his name. "Yeah, I'm Tehengu."

Midnight nodded her head, at least she knew 2 people's names now, in case everything went wrong. Still, he was Human, meaning she had to be a little cautious around him regardless. "Slash mentioned you a few times.." She said, as to try validate herself as to why she asked, before planning to lean back, but realizing that he was actually talking to her. Him, a human, was engaging in coversation with her, a Faunus. She had to admit, first time's were all around.

"It's Midnight" She said, testing the waters with him. This was the first conversation with a human where her being a Faunus hadn't actually impacted anything yet, and while she wanted to read, her curiousity asked her how far would this chat go? Hence, she planned to continue the chat.

Tehengu nodded at Midnight's response about Slash having mentioned him. Oh he was aware of that, but he didn't give any indication that he did. He smiled slightly as Midnight introduced herself. Was she actually trying to have a conversation with him? She didn't really seem the type, but appearances could be deceiving.

"Nice to meet you, Midnight." He said, offering his hand for her to shake.

Midnight couldn't help but stare at Tehengu as he offered his hand, presumable for a handshake, a sign on friendship and the sorts. But she couldn't help but be suspicious of it, looking at it carefully, she couldn't help herself. Human's hadn't been the kindest of races to the Faunus, not in the past and many humans still held that view. She doubed he would try anything, and if he did, she'd beat him up, or try at least, over it. Slowly, she extended her hand to meet Tehengu's handshake, and shakes it, before just as slowly moving her hand back to her.

"...A-and, you too.." She eventually said, realizing it was probably rude not to say that.

Well, she was still cautious. She had seemed very hesitant to shake his hand, not that he really blamed her. Humans and faunus didn't exactly have the best past together. He nodded at her words, not really sure where to go from there.

"So... What do you think of this place?" He asked, really just trying to keep the conversation going.

Midnight ran her hand through her hair, she had no idea wher eto take this conversation, because of obvious reasons like she actually stuck to herself. So in a way, she was thankful Tehengu took part of the conversation with a question directed at what she throught of Beacon. She took another look around the room, before looking at him. It was rude not to look, right?

"W-well...to me, it feel like half the people here are more interested in showing off their weapons and bragging than, you know, becoming a Hunter and Huntress's, but maybe that's just the one's I've seen. Outside that, they're trying to whole mysterious thing by making us sleep here" She realized she'd been going on a lot longer than she intended, before shurgging it off. "What do you think is happening tomorrow? Got any idea?" She asked, curious about what he thought could happen, plus if it was a fight, making an ally, not a friend, but an ally, could prove very useful.

Tehengu nodded in understanding as Midnight talked. There did indeed seem to be more people interested in what they had rather than doing the job they came here to learn about. Hopefully that would change in time, or they likely wouldn't make it. He thought about her question for a bit before responding to it.

"Well, considering it's going to be our job to fight monsters, this initiation of theirs is probably a test to see how well we do out in the field." He said, looking at Midnight. "What do you think?"

Slash shrugged and followed after her, underestimating him was probably a bad idea. After all, no one dared to tease him about his ears after the fight with every single person in his class, unfortunately it left him two times lonelier than before. He spotted Tehenu and Midnight, looks like the three of them are going to hang around. "Hey Tehengu, hey Midnight, ready for bed?" He said as he sat down on his sleeping bag, removing his plaid shirt so he would be sleeping in his white T-shirt. He folded it neatly and placed next to his pillow and scratched himself behind the ears. He lay down and noticed that Tehengu had the same book as Midnight. He looked from Tehengu to Midnight with a confused look on his face.

Andrea made it to the Ball room and Began unbuttoning her cardigan. Andrea sat in her sleeping and tossed her cardigan behind her." Ah that's so much better." She said to herself as she looked around. While looking about, She noticed someone people sleeping right across from her. " Oh my gosh " She said with a laugh " Are you following me!? " (Slash! and the rest I guess XD)

Slash flipped onto his side and rested his head against his palm that was supported by his elbow against the floor. "Well, we were here first. It's was your decision to choose a spot so close to me" he chuckled.

"I think the innitation is students being, well, fighting other students. A survival of the fitest contest, and the strongest ones get to become Hunters and Huntress'. At least, that's what I thought it was" Now more aware of it, it would make slightly more sense to have them fight monsters than other students, but maybe it was both? She had no idea, and in a way, was looking forward to finding out. That's when Slash came back, but Midnight greeted him with silence. He was too, jumpy, jumpy wasn't the right word, but it was the best she had at the moment. She wasn't sure how to react, not when another person, a girl this time, seemed to be complaining about Slash. Midnight just assumed he'd annoyed her too, which she didn't find that surprising if she was honest with herself.

She let out an audible sigh, before scratching her hand and re-opening the book. She glanced at Tehengu briefly, curious if he'd even like the fantasy genre "...You think vampires are real?" She asked him, seemingly out of nowhere, but the book was based on the idea of vampires, so who knows, she might get lucky.

Tehengu hummed at Midnight's response. Slash and the human girl returned before anything else could be said though, and Midnight and him fell silent while the girl complained about Slash. He simply sighed, laying back and beginning to read the book he had been given. He didn't get too far before Midnight spoke up again, asking if he thought vampires were real. He looked over at her with a raised eyebrow before responding.

"Do I think they are real? No. At least not how they are portrayed in books. It wouldn't surprise me if there actually were vampires, or something close enough to qualify." Tehengu said, looking at the faunus.

Midnight was actually surprised Tehengu replied to her normally, like her question was normal. It was, unusual, for a Human and for her. Since she wasn't a fan of chatting, and the average Human wasn't a fan of the average Faunus.

"I've always wanted to meet one, you know? They're the thing of, well, legend I suppose. Just a childish dream" She shook her head, before realizing she'd actually just said that to someone "...Amd, ummm, ignore that..." she realized that she'd been to 'open' with Tehengu, too chatty. She wanted him to see her as an ally, not a friend...right? Is that what she wanted? Just an ally? Now Midnight wasn't even sure, after all, there were only so many nights you could spend alone with a book before you got a little lonely. The half-smile on her face vanished instantly, and she lied back into the sleeping back. She'd taken that step too far, and now was doubting herself. She couldn't affoard to doubt herself at this point, she needed to make a decision and follow it. The main question is, does she try and continue chatting to Tehengu, or go back to silence. Silence was what she knew, what she was famililar with, and if all else fails, she could go back to it. "S-sorry..." She realized that she'd completely lost track of the conversation, what was being said, and was now at a complete lose for words.

Tehengu listened as Midnight spoke, saying she had always wanted to meet a vampire. He smiled a bit at that, though that faded as Midnight tried to retract her statement before falling silent. Oh well, at least she was talking to him. From the sounds of things back on the airship, she didn't like talking to anyone, but especially not to humans. Not that he could really blame her, most humans weren't very nice to the faunus.

"It's fine, do't worry about it." Tehengu said, laying back down and reading some more.

Midnight actually smiled at Tehengu when he let it go, her screw up, he let it go. Maybe, maybe she was wrong? Maybe you didn't need conversation to, make a friend? Was it friendship, or just an ally, or something else? Midnight hadn't the slightest clue anymore, but in a way, that was, good? She had managed to confuse herself. Lying back on the bed, the wanted to read more, but instead a yawn forced its way through her. Kneeling up, she couldn't help but stretch out her arms and legs, before curling up in her sleeping bag with her hair and ears visible, the rest of her curled up in a tight ball.

Tehengu smiled slightly at Midnight's actions as she yawned and curled up to sleep. He wanted to read some more, but he probably should get some sleep as well. He marked where he was in the book, which wasn't very far at all, and set it down, settling in to his sleeping bag and closing his eyes to sleep.
