Pitch Your Own Episode

Recommended Posts

Have an episode idea? I'd like to see them! Show off a hypothetical episode title and a synopsis of what it would be about. Bonus points if you include a beneficial or positive message.

I'll start:

Twilight De-Light:

Twilight Sparkle's friend, Flash Sentry, is exiled from Equestria by her mother Velvet. The message is mothers should watch carefully over their precious daughters from prying lecherous stallions.

No Time Like the Present:

When Ponyville's annual harvest festival falls short of expectations, Rarity tries to take charge of further event planning. However, she becomes so busy, she forgets what is really important in her life.

What Goes Around Comes Around

Gilda the Griffon causes trouble for Fluttershy's flying friends when she takes over the skies near the Everfree Forest to practice her tricks and stunts. Recalling the last time she encountered the griffon, Fluttershy is reluctant to confront Gilda. Discord learns of how when they first met, Gilda's fun came at the expense of the animal-loving pegasus and decides to have a little fun of his own.

Beneficial message: Friends stick up for friends. (and maybe 'don't dish it out unless you can take it')

Story of Spike's Savior

Spike becomes really curious about how he came to be the only dragon to live among ponies and who his parents are. Twilight learns of his feelings and attempts to help him trace back the origins of his egg starting from the ponies at the audition where she made Spike's egg hatch. Just as it seems they've run out of leads, they discover a cave where the creature called Scorpan - brother of Tirek - meets them. He explains how Tirek had once attempted to enslave dragons to do his bidding and how Scorpan managed to rescue an egg to keep it from sharing the same fate. He left the egg with the ponies, knowing they would raise it better than his sinister brother ever would have.

Beneficial message: It doesn't matter what you are or where you come from; only who you choose to be and what you decide to make of yourself.

((This pitch is based on G1 Spike's origins))

As You Wish

Discord wants to be seen as a good guy now, so he tries to think of something good to do for others. Not being well versed in the whole friendship thing, he quickly concludes the best idea is to offer wishes to all the citizens of Ponyville. After all, what's nicer than giving people whatever they want? He goes into town advertising that he will give one wish to everyone in town, and after some skepticism, everypony is soon clamoring to have their wishes granted.

Predictably, things very quickly get way out of hand. The ponies' grandiose, hasty, and often conflicting wishes soon plunge the town into chaos, giving no one what they wanted. Even the mane six get caught up in the wish frenzy, except for Twilight for no other reason than because she's too busy trying to think of what she wants to wish for.

Discord can't help but laugh at the irony, but not for long as he's soon branded by Ponyville as a trickster genie only trying to cause chaos. Discord himself is quite put off by the accusations. The one time he goes out of his way to be as nice as he can to everyone, this is the response he gets? But the mane six, despite still suffering from their own failed wishes, realize that it wasn't Discord who caused the chaos all over town, but the carelessness of the ponies making wishes without thinking. Discord is considering giving up trying to bother making friends with the townsponies, but just then the mane six arrive and defend Discord from the townsfolk, explaining that all he tried to do was be nice and that the ones who made the wishes, includeing themselves, are the real culprits. Twilight, the only one left who hasn't made a wish, uses hers to make the town right again, as it was before.

The mane six learn the standard "be careful what you wish for" lesson.

The townsfolk learn that they shouldn't have been so quick to blame Discord for the problems, not considering that they may have been the wrong ones.

And Discord learns that there is more to being nice than giving others whatever they ask for.
