A Fearful Sun (Closed/See OOC)

After spending the week with the Prince, Stiletto figured they had become good friends. After she had taught him that the clouds are indeed managed by the pegasi, the pair had got along smoothly. They got to know each other fairly well and the pegasus had become accustomed to his laid-back and nonchalant attitude. She found it quite appealing, fresh even, and the two got on very well. She had smiled at his humour and tried to be the best host she could, though naturally she expected him to do his part. This was one of the things that she kept going on about in fact, the need to do one's share. Freedom was good, it was something Stiletto prized above all. There had to be some constraints though, even if they were quite loose.

Nonetheless, she couldn't help but be slightly awkward at times around him. Thankfully it had escaped his attention thus far and Stiletto had been very evasive whenever he had caught her staring, or blushing, or whatever she had been doing to arouse suspicion. Nonetheless, she hated to admit it, but she liked Avery a lot. Not enough for their friendship to present a problem, though she often found her mind wandering to more amorous places whenever she thought of him. She would like him to ask her out, though she had resided herself to thinking that it would never happen. After all, he was a Prince, even if he didn't act like it most of the time. Why would he even notice her, and if he did? Well, would she be something special to him? She didn't know, perhaps he had just been being polite this whole time.

Still, she had survived the week. Naturally, she had confided in her friend Glimmer the actress. Stiletto had been grateful for her support, but hoped she wouldn't try anything to get them together. She doubted it would work.

Now the Summer Sun Celebration was coming up, and she had invited Avery to attend with her. The faire would be wonderful, even if it was going to be held at Princess Twilight 'Show off' Sparkle's new castle of friendship. Suffice to say, Stiletto didn't have the greatest opinion of the esteemed Princess. In fact, she didn't like royalty at all. That was what made her infatuation with Avery even more confusing. The alicorn had accepted, though for some reason he wanted to do his part and help prepare for the faire. Stiletto disagreed with him at first, not really wanting to put the effort in and do something that would earn her some bits. Still, she couldn't say no to him for long, and found herself being enlisted to help out.

Maybe he didn't understand. Money was important, she needed it to keep the house. Stiletto had asked when he was going to get a job but he had yet to come through. When was the reward for his safe rescue coming again?

The pair walked along the path together towards the castle and she glanced at him with a smile. She supposed it would be nice to get out, another opportunity to spend the day with Avery. It would be fun, then they could enjoy the faire together tomorrow. "So, you reckon we'll have to do it all by ourselves. Or will many ponies turn up?" she asked, taking a look at the sky. "Well, at least it's a nice day. Hard work clearing the sky after that last rainfall we had. Still, it should be fun." She turned her smile back on the alicorn as the Castle of Friendship loomed up ahead.

Darky was walking around Ponyville as other days. Even though he lived in Canterlot, he really liked goint to Ponyville every once in a while. The grey pegasus came all the way flying from there rather than taking the train like anyother pony. He felt better flying around rather than being confined in a small waggon.

Once he arrived he remembered something about a celebrarion in there, it Twilight's castle to be more precise. He knew her and her friends, maybe not that much to call them his friends, but they got allong pretty well. But seeing her was not what he wanted the most, but rather seeing the night princess, Luna. He had been in love with her for quite a while and hoped she would be there, but if she wasnt.... well.... his life didn't turned around her, he could have fun in the celebration with everypony else.

He noticed a pegasus and an alicorn walking together. He didn't knew any of them at all, but he was mostly surprised after seeing another alicorn. The onlyones he knew where the princesses... strange... nevertheless, he didn't cared that much, he wanted to have fun in there.

The week in the mild mannered Ponyville was an enjoyable one for the newly found prince, and to have a close friend such as Stiletto around was joyful! Throughout the week, Avery had learned so many things that he thought was just a myth, such as Pegasi actually being the ones in charge of putting the weather where it belongs. It was foreign concept to him, and it took a while before he got comfortable with the idea, as well as calling Princess Celestia and Luna mother and aunt respectfully. Though, he wouldn't have gotten through it without the help of Stiletto, her carefree attitude was great to be around, hearing the stories of what made her to be what she is.

Though that isn't to say that she has her awkward moments, as he's noticed several occurrences that made him raise an eyebrow, but didn't bother him too much for him to drag it along. She's be a kind friend, one that he wouldn't replace. Even though he doesn't express his emotions all that often, he does think of Stiletto as a very good friend. She helped him be accustomed to Equestria's standards and even tried to help him find somewhere to work. Though... it was difficult to actual find a job.

Ponies all over had heard of his return by now, so it's hard to walk the street without being greeted in a over the top way, such as complete bowing or even almost being trampled by young inspiring foals wishing to be a part of royalty. Although it's nice for them to treat him like that, he doesn't want to have such a rank. He's a simple pony like everyone else, nothing better, nothing worse. But because of his family line, he can't find an honest place to work.

Though, Stiletto had invited him to the Summer Sun Celebration, which he heard her talk about before. The day Nightmare Moon was banished and the return of Princess Luna, which is also the longest day of the year. Plus, it was going to be held at the Castle of Friendship, a new castle that was completely made of crystals, powered by the magic of friendship. That castle is Princess Twilight's, who he met a week before as well, though hasn't had much time to get to know her. It would be great to head to such a faire, though he had the idea of helping preparations as well, since it was being held by Twilight, a princess, he thought it would be a great way for him to actually start to work.

Though Stiletto didn't like the idea at first, though she eventually said that she'd also help out as well! How great, having a friend help out too! So, the alicorn and the pegasus soon were walking along the path to the Friendship Castle, just outside of Ponyville. Seeing the castle again like this was simply amazing to see, the rays of light coming down from the sky, reflecting on the castle itself to shoot out a whole spectrum of colors. It was quite the sight to see! Makes him forget about the awful nightmares that he's been having this entire week, night after night, making him restless and almost passing out in broad daylight.

Avery hears Stiletto and turns to look at her, thinking that it would be silly if they had to do it by themselves. "Oh don't jest me haha, if we had to do it by ourselves I don't think we'll be awake for the faire at all." He then looked to the sky as she said her next statement, it was indeed a nice day to be out, though he won't forget the time where he helped with putting the weather together for the first time. That was truly a unique experience. "Yes, it is a nice day. Though I must say, it was really a cool experience to have moved the clouds like that... Never would've thought that would be possible!"

Though at that moment he caught the glance of a grey pagasus, possibly registering that he was who he was. He didn't think much of it, though he took a mental picture of the pegasus if he ever would see them. It was right as he did that, he heard an actual snap of a camera. He stops and blinks, rubbing his eyes, thinking that he actually took a picture with his mind.Though he looks around to only see the hyperactive pink party pony hanging off one of the banners for the celebration, taking pictures of everything that moved. Avery chuckled at himself, thinking it was silly that he could actually take a picture with his mind like that, then jogged to catch up to Stiletto. "Think Pinkie Pie will surprise us again with something? I remember that random party she dragged me to... I didn't... like it TOO much, it was a bit hectic I must admit."

The Ponyville ponies were excited to have the Summer Sun Celebration once again here among the town, though at the castle of friendship instead. It was still a remarkable feat to have the celebration again. The Castle of Friendship was certainly a new landmark, and it would be wise to make it known to Equestria that this is where the castle is at. In fact, Twilight is more than willing to have the knowledge of the castle be more known, so that ponies could be able to come see her or her friends whenever they needed if they desired help. Though, her schedule was extremely busy for today, having everything ready, the food prepared, the decorations spot on, music for the rising of the sun, and even having the princesses be comfortable for when they get here.

Though that wasn't bothering her too much, most of her friends are helping out with preparations, though she would need more help in order to have this up and running by tonight. But with her leadership, she'll have the celebration ready in no time. ...At least that would be the case, if Discord wasn't also invited to the celebration for the entertainment value. Though he's been cured of his evil instincts, he still causes as much mischief as he does when he was first freed. Thankfully, he's not showing up until the princesses do, which will be in a few hours.

Shadow's body hid behind the bushes close to Ponyvilles brand new landmark: The Friendship Castle.
It was a sight to behold and had all types of perfectly polished gems of all colours and more of the rainbow.

"Oh my the Summer Sun Celebration is going to be brilliant, one cannot wait, I must begin in helping with the preparations!" Shadow chuckled as her horn glowed a soft pink as her body changed into a dark pink coat with black long hair that curled neatly around her front.

As Shadow trotted towards the castle with her trusty white saddel bags full of ideas and rainbow colours, a couple caught her eye, an Alicorn with a Pegasus. Oh how magnificent, another Royal most likely, she hadn't a clue who this was and was excited to meet him. Tilting her head up the gleaming castle she had a funny feeling that this year's Summer Sun Celebration would spectacular.

Passing a pair of hugging ponies she breathed in and felt the emotional residue from each one enter her body and the rush of power, exactly like a sugar rush! "Oh what a feast one shall have, now then, carry on," Shadow laughed slightly before remembering the cutie mark for this disguise: a paint brush wrapped in delicate purple thread. To represent artistic traits that Shadow had.

In the time Dawn had spent wandering the small town of Ponyville, It did not take him long to notice the castle of princess Twilight and could not help but stare at it's shape and color with a feeling of unhappy discontent. It did not belong, and no matter how many drawings he had scattered around him with different colored and reconstructed designs, he could not 'fix' the problems in his mind. The castle had to be blue when everything around it was green, it was larger than any other building in the town which made it obvious and ruined the atmosphere of the town. He took no issue with the castle itself, but it stood out from the rest of the land, and not in an appealing way.

He groaned and mumbled under his breath as he contemplated the castle and tried to nail what was really bugging him about it. "Maybe the material...? No, just the color... and maybe style... Or is it the town that needs to change to suit the castle...? Add more blue to the grass and switch up the houses to look crystal?"

He turned his attention to the greater region of the town with a little more hope to re-image it's design and match the castle's. However his hope was soon crushed to dust as a few of the same problems repeated in his head like a strange sense of Déjà vu. "Ergh, like oil and water... Who designed this, and who in their infinite wisdom decided to put it here?" While continuing his mumbling, more than a few papers scattered to the winds and carried away in his mild conniption, stuffing the folio into his bag with a disgruntled look. Cantering off after them as they drifted through the air, entertained by their whirling flight and somewhat thankful for their distraction.

Stiletto smiled at that. Well, even if she couldn't tell him how she felt, at least they were good friends. She'd tried to help him through all of this while he found his hooves, and she had thought that she had been mostly successful. Moving the clouds with him had been a fun experience. It was always better when working with friends after all, somehow the work seemed to get done quicker. Not to mention it was more enjoyable. There had also been the party that Pinkie Pie had dragged them both to. Avery's welcome party. She had to concur with him, while it had been a nice party it was a bit much. It had felt like half of Ponyville had descended on them and all of the happy emotions had ended up being a little too much for her. Suffice to say she had left a little earlier than she normally would have. Still, it had given her a good boost to her mood and she was grateful for that at least.

"Oh I expect she will," Stiletto said with a chuckle. She looked up at Pinkie Pie and smiled. It was always good to see the happy pink pony. If Pinkie Pie was helping out though, that meant the fair was bound to be a blast. "It is Pinkie Pie we're talking about here. Expect hidden party cannons in random places. Heck, expect everything," she enthused. Pinkie Pie was a notorious prankster after all, she was bound to have something in store for Avery. No doubt a cake ending up on his head would be involved, just like last time.

The castle was starting to look good, though there was still a lot to be done for the Celebration. There needed to be decorations hung, stalls set up, space cleared, and a host of other things that would likely require some strenuous labor. The pegasus was here to help though, now it was just a question of how to. "This could be fun though, we might even meet some new ponies while setting up." She smiles at the thought. Who didn't like making new friends after all.

Stiletto stopped as they approached the castle and glanced around. "We should probably find Twilight, or just somepony in charge and ask what they need help with. Though it looks like they've already made a bit of a start. Go on, I'll follow you," she informed Avery, falling in slightly behind him. After all, he needed more experience with these things. Granted, he had improved a lot in the past week with his knowledge of Equestria. He still needed to experience these things though. After all, it was his idea to come help, he should probably take the lead.

Darky kept walking around for a while. He bought himself a small bag of apples from Applejack's stand. Oh, how much he loved apples, he really did. He put the bag in his back and grabbed one with his wing, then throwed it to the sky and flew towards it, catching it with his mouth, then flew towards the castle. He knew Twilight and her friends, and he wanted to see them, it would be nice to do so.

As he walked towards the castle, he saw Pinkie and smiled to her. "Hello Pinkie." He said happily. He then kept walking towards the castle. Knowing her, it was highly likely she hid her party cannons, so he walked carefuly from that point, making sure he didn't stumbled with one.

Once he arrived to the castle itself, he grabbed another apple with his wing, them throwed it up and this time he just catched it with his mouth as it went down. He smiled at that. He was sure he would meet some interesting ponies this day.

Shadow Cocoons dark pink hooves continued their loud journey towards the castle and narrowly squeezed between a pegasus and a random unicorn to fit through the gap.

"Oh I'm just going to completely ruin my supplies I have if this busy crowd keeps up," she huffed in annoyance as she flipped her mane perfectly around her neck before hearing a disastrous rip. "No no no!" Shadows bags had somehow been caught by a sharp object of some sort and now had a rip, which revealed her crafting material to be rolled on the floor.

Her horn glowed and begun to pick the craft up and back into the bag, as she did so, she multitasked and stitched up the whole efficiently before bumping into the Alicorn and Pegasus.

"I'm awfully sorry," Shadow looked up not realising who the ponies she accidently stumbled into were the two she was looking at earlier.

The ponies within Ponyville were increasing in numbers as the hours go by, many others came in from different cities and lands, hearing upon the return of a long lost prince. Now, many chose to disbelieve this fact from being true, as they would've known about a lost prince if he was really lost. Many accepted the fact, happy to see their princess and her son back together again, for who knew if he would take the throne after Celestia. While many rumors were also tossed around, saying things about the prince's soon-to-be power, or even secrets and love life. Most, however, were put down by Celestia herself, saying that it will not be soon for her son to be in power, as he still has much to learn, and she has much to learn from him. That is to be expected, however, due to Avery's disappearance nearly seven hundred years ago, Celestia never knew how her son acted, or even knew of what power he would have.

That being said, Avery right now didn't much care for his future, only living one day at a time. With this day being among many holidays to experience, he was excited to see what was there to do! Especially with a friend like Stiletto around to help him. Though, while they talked, she did point out many things. Such as Pinkie Pie putting party cannons in random locations, it could possibly be a thing that she would do, even though he's been lucky enough to not find any of these cannons around.

Avery let's out a chuckling sigh "Well, let's just hope that we won't find one today, I'd rather have my hearing thank you." he says, often mistaking the party cannons for actual cannons. It wouldn't be the first time, that went to his welcoming party which, upon seeing it, Avery got carried away with trying to dismantle it before it went off. Though it was explained to him that it was nothing more than a huge confetti popper most of the time. He often does get nervous around the party cannon still, not trusting it yet.

Speaking of Pinkie Pie, that party pony was bouncing all around Ponyville, putting up party favors and even putting more sun decorated balloons around for the huge event. Though, upon hearing a hello, she stops in her tracks and pops up side the pony that said hello to her, which was the grey pegasus named Darky! At least to her anyway, others called him another name, but Darky rolled off the tongue so well.

"Oh hi there Darky! What brings you by Ponyville? OH! Are you here to see the Summer Sun Celebration! Cause I know I am! It's going to be so much fun! Especially with Celestia's son around! He's a goooood friend of mine! I even threw him a party! He loved loved loooooved it! ...Well, except for the time I got my party cannon and he dismantled it right before my eyes! I mean, how do you even dismantle a PARTY CANNON?! THERE'S NO WAY TO DO THAT! Oh! I'll see ya later Darky! Need to help out Applejack! Oh! And don't step on that rock!!" Pinkie quickly states in her loud, happy voice, throwing her hooves here and there. As she left, she gave the warning about not stepping on a rock, which Darky would be approaching soon, and if he does step on it... Party cannon.

Now, back to Avery who was still talking to Stiletto at the moment. He had to agree that they could meet new ponies here, making new friends. Who would not want to make a new friend? It would lead to new places to visit and even new conversations! He was more than ready to meet some of Stiletto's friends someday, they seem nice if they were anything like Stiletto, who knew who'd he meet?

Though as they continued, Stiletto said something about finding Twilight or at least somepony else in charge and ask for assistance. He knew that Twilight was in charge of the whole thing, after all, it was being held at her castle. He thought it would be nice to see her again, last time he saw her was at the welcome party a few days ago after the rain had cleared up.

He nods, looking back "Yeah, that's a good idea. I think she would be in her ca-GAH!" He says before having bumped into a dark pink unicorn! The sudden shock of the bump caused him to stop in his tracks, looking cross eyed as he regained his surroundings. He shook his head and rubbed the sore spot, looking at the pony he had bumped into.

"Oh, no, I'm sorry, I didn't see where I was going. Who are you? My name's Avery, behind me is Stiletto." He says calmly. He then notices the bags that the unicorn held "Say, are you going to be helping out with the celebration? Yo-" he tries to say as a piece of paper soon smacked against his face. He stays quiet for a moment before saying "Not going to be my lucky day, is it?" He uses his own magic to remove the piece of paper from his face, looking at it before noticing more coming at him. He quickly catches all of them before stacking them up nicely. "Hm... wonder who these belong to?"

Dawn caught a few of his papers that had attempted escaping but the most important drawing to retrieve, along with the many others, fluttered through the wind and straight into a face of a pony. Generally he did not mind sharing his work with curious onlookers but not that one specifically, and added with the particular combination of wings and horn made him panic. Constantly redrawing the same picture with slightly different properties every time invites a type of sketch you draw for a little relaxation, usually transforming the landscape into a horrible concoction of Nightmare Night mixed with Hearts and Hooves Day that some pony clearly needed more than a few minutes to sketch.

He broke into a gallop to save the small amount of self respect he still held for himself and charged in after it, if he could just get it before the royal looked at it. The other unimportant pages swirled around and blocked his view of the target, resulting in a blind charge as he almost reached his destination. He kept going despite the visual handicap and soon discovered, as all the papers seemed to magnetize together in a pile, he was far too close to stop. “Oh…” He certainly wanted to stop, but his life was on the line and if the wrong ponies saw it, or even mentioned it at the wrong time by some pony of that stature would deal a crushing blow to his career, much like his face in a moment.

The initial impact wasn’t as bad as he thought it was going to be, all it really did was knock him off balance. However, he had lost his glasses while hitting the ground and they flew a fair distance away. Finding them would take few hours if he was lucky and he felt compelled to apologize to his unfortunate speed bump. He felt relief for the incriminating page blur away into the wind, it was neither signed nor in the hooves of a Alicorn so all was well in the world. Except for his victim of circumstance, lack of vision and the feeling that dirt was cling to his ash grey hide, so maybe not all.

“I apologize for running you over, errr…” His golden eyes could only see a blotch of color, and trying to make out which end was which was a gamble at best. “... I hope you can forgive my inability to stop appropriately… hmm.” he kept looking between the ends to make sure he wasn't staring at their flank like a creep and slowly felt more nervous by the seconds that past. "And sensibility... And vision..." He offered his hoof for a hoof shake or helping them up, he couldn't tell if they still on the ground or not, then grumbled and wish he had his glasses at this point so he could at lest see how badly he was doing.

Stiletto chuckled as she walked along the path with Avery. Yep, running into a party cannon would definitely be a bad thing. She smiled at the memory of Avery getting his hooves on one and taking it apart. How he did that she didn't know. It was a party cannon after all, she had no idea how those things worked. Yet still, Avery. The prince of the past. He had managed to dismantle one, though was still no closer to figuring out how it worked. She guessed that was probably for the best. They more than likely worked on the same principle as Pinkie Sense. That was a whole other headache about Pinkie Pie. But still, they weren't going to figure those things out today. No, they were best off just avoiding the loud unnecessary noises. Not that those weren't a good thing from time to time, but as some sort of devious trap they weren't fun.

Still, it had seemed that a unicorn mare had dropped a load of, what could be best described as art supplies. That was a bit of a surprise, still, she supposed the unicorn had come prepared. No doubt they would come in useful with handling the decorations. There was a smile from the pegasus as she looked the dark unicorn up and down. She seemed nice. The pegasus smiled at her, "Hey there. Oh dear, let me help with that..." she offered, however ended up trailing off as Avery's magic sorted it all out. "Umm... thought that counts?" she offered.

Then there was the crash. Stiletto being behind Avery managed to avoid it completely of course, though she did jump at the sudden impact and flapped lightly into the air, maintaining a hover as she watched the exchange unfold. Of course, the pegasus couldn't help but giggle as the two recovered. They both seemed fine, just a quick bump of the head, though Avery was definitely keeping up his track record of being accident prone. Maybe she should buy him a helmet? She giggled at the thought. "So are you done running into things today, Avery?" she asked, floating back down to land lightly by his side. "After all, we have a fair to set up you know. Can't have you bumping into everything and everypony."

She chuckled at the ash coloured unicorn and the dark pink unicorn. Being the only non magic user in the group, she couldn't help but feel a little inadequate. "Hey, I'm Stiletto, umm. You okay there Avery?" she asked, offering him a hoof to help him up. Well, this was turning into a bit of a day of crashing for Avery. She just hoped that nothing else decided to hurtle into him, or her for that matter.

Darky smiled after hearing Pinkie talking all that after he said hello to her. He was actualy expecting this and well... she didn't let him down, just as he expected. Yet, something surprised him. What was that of.... Tia's sun? He didn't knew she had one at all. He wondered who was it and how he looked like, although he remembered seeing an alicorn not so long ago.... what that alicorn him?

"See ya Ponkie!"

Darky said waving to her after she said she had to go. She was going to help Applejack, and he just came from where she was. He chuckled at that and kept walking, but then soething registered into his mind, Pinkie said something about a party cannon near a rock he was heading.

"Gah!"

He almost fell down after seeing the rock, he almost got there, but he fortounately didn't activated the cannon. He sighed in relieve and smiled, sitting down where he was. He then stood up and walked around the rock, heading to the castle again.

He saw a few ponies talking.near the entrance, and decided to go and investigate.

"Huh?" He said after seeing the interesting group in there, but then noticed the alicorn in there. He then noticed that was the one he saw not so long ago. He just looked at hin for a moment and then turned to the other ponies. He started thinking, if he was Tia's sun, would that mean she will come? And if that was true, would Luna also come? That idea made him blush a little. He knew both if the princesses for quite some time, well... almost every day. He sighed and cleared his mind of that

He kept walking and noticed a little group of ponies, and looked that somepony crashed. He shrugged and decided to go to investigate. "Is everypony allright?" He asked, then noticed the alicorn from earlier, but he remined silent at that, making sure everypony else was fine.

The next few moments were so fast, Avery didn't register what was going on until he realized he was on the ground. Did somepony knock him over? It certainly felt like it, his head hurt like mad as his eyes swirled in place. The voices were coming through, though he couldn't tell where they were coming from for a few moments. The papers he had fell to the ground as he did, and all he saw... was stars.

"Gaaah... I'm seeing stars. I didn't know it was night time already, did auntie bring up the moon early?" he says as he was helped up by two ponies. He wobbles slightly, his wings crooked. He stops and shakes his head, removing the stars from his eyes and looking around him. The dark pink unicorn was still there, and now there's a new pony, an ash grey unicorn. He tilts his head as he hears the apologies, chuckling slightly "Naah, it's completely fine. Haven't been clonked on my head in a long while, but I'm sure I'll be fine. No worries. And thanks Stiletto, I'm fine. By the way, my nam-" he says before stopping at the sight of another pony. He recognized this pony, it was the same one that gave him an odd look from before!

He stared at the new pegasus, seeing that there was a lot of grey ponies around. Though he bows his head, smiling "Hey there! Yeah... seems like everypony's okay. I'm okay at least... are you okay there Mr... ummm" Avery said, trying to get the grey Unicorn's name. Avery thought to himself 'Man... this certainly seems like a crash and burn meeting. I just hope nothing else will bump into me.'

It was a new group of ponies to meet, Avery just didn't expect to meet so many at once already! He was certain to meet some ponies while helping out with the fair, though meeting ponies right now was alright too, though he would at least have something to do other than to meet Twilight at her castle to see about work on the fair. Though, he wasn't complaining, it's nice to meet new ponies... no matter how impactful the greeting might've been.

With ponies walking everywhere in Ponyville, it was a loud cluster of chatter. With a whoosh of wind, blowing nearly everyone's in its direction, everyone stopped for a moment to look at the wind, only to return to what they were doing. What that was, was the famous rainbow haired pegasus Rainbow Dash, shooting through the sky, most likely racing some other pegasi. ...Even though she should be clearing the excess clouds from the last rain storm for today. The sky was still dotted with clouds from the previous rain storm that hasn't either dried up or been removed, a nice view still, but it had to be rid of.

Oh dear! What have I done! The first time I ever met this brand new Alicorn and I was already sending him into the dirt of his old beaten tracks. What a disaster! Shadow would lift her flank off the path and proceeded to use her tail to clear up the dirt and loose tinsel from her bags. With a triumphant smile her eyes relocated onto the new Alicorn and Pegasus standing before...what was that! It was perfect and pleasureable, a soft tasting and delicate taste of love, from one to another and the other to one. "Mmmm," Shadow said a little too loudly before lifting her head up high and sorting herself out furthermore.

"I am greatly sorry for the inconvenience caused, it's just these disastrous crowds really do get the better of me," Shadow's light pink eyes, eyed both in turn and her mouth twisted delicately into a smile of kindness one fo which was mastered easily in her...profession?

"Why yes of course! This year is going to be truly exceptional, I can feel it right down to my bones! I do hope..." Shadow was interupted y a loud smack as a piece of paper landed in the Stallio's face, he pulled it away with a comment and to this, she chuckled. Oh my, what a unusual drawing, she thought to herself as she spotted what seemed to be Nightmare Moon crossed in a completely different setting related to her character.

"Woah!" Shadow jumped up as she said this and saw a second Stallion heading their way, well the Alicorns anyway. She turned her face away to look up at the sky with a small  smile and a slight shake of her head she replied to Avery's shock.

"Nope, it's still day time today,  whilst there be clouds they'll be gone soon, Auntie? Oh Luna, no the sun's shining brightly," Shadow chuckled before turning to the other ponies eyeing each in turn with her pale pink eyes, no pony had suspect dher yet, good. -the less the better. Hopefully residents of Ponyville won't expect the Changeling living in the Everfree to join?

"So looks like we're a group now, wait! Oh my, I'm terribly sorry I haven't asked or given any ponies names? I am...Painting Craft," she stuttered slightly but Carrie Don smiling at the other ponies.

"And you all are?!"

Dawn had begun the long search for his glasses immediately after pulling the pony onto his hooves, hearing so many voices without any visual representation scared him. He was not blind yet and every time he lost his glasses it reminded him how close his was. He concluded there were a even match up of two colts and two mares, and the trajectory of the voices there was at least one Pegasus, being the grey blotch in the air. While he knew there was the white Alicorn he ran into, but he could not tell what kind of pony the other grey and pink blotches were.

He listened carefully to everything they were all saying and paused his steady shuffling for his spectacles to respond to the Alicorn's incomplete sentence. “Dawn. And I feel physically unharmed and emotionally stable, aside from losing my glasses and the odd feeling I rolled in mud.” It puzzled him that they would concern themselves with the his well being, given the collision was intentional. But leaving a question unanswered would be beyond irritating. “The White Alicorn is Avery, the Grey Pegasus is Stiletto, the Pink one is Craft. What is your name, other Grey one?”

He wanted to test his information gathering and pointed his hoof in accordance to colour, getting a little unsure as to which grey blotch was which. He restarted sideways shuffling and continued his search from his point of impact, all the while mumbling “So I landed here… Which way did they go? I think I felt them go right...”

Stiletto set her hoof back down after she helped Avery up. The pegasus did a quick scan of his side, and he seemed true to his word. Avery would be fine, it was just a knock. Ahh well, such is life. The pegasus wasn't about to let this little upset ruin his day. She chuckled, looking up at the other pegasus with a smile. "I think we're fine, thanks," she replied, happy to see a fellow pegasus amidst the gathering of unicorns and alicorns. Not that she didn't mind, but being around a lot of magic users made her feel a little uncomfortable. After all, she didn't have magic, other than her empathic abilities. It made her feel a little left out, not that it was much of a problem of course.

She had hoped that Avery would make friends quickly. Perhaps not this quickly, but it was a good start. Being around Ponyville and hanging out with her was one thing. She loved having him around, but he needed other friends too.

Still, she glances up at the pink unicorn who introduced herself as Painting Craft. Lie. What? Stiletto blinked as she saw it plain as day, the telltale mismatch of her aura as she lied about her own name. That was strange, why would the unicorn lie about her own name? That didn't make any sense, and Stiletto started to think she'd just imagined it. After all, it wasn't exactly common place to lie about something so simple. Still, Stiletto decided it would be best to feign ignorance for now. Perhaps she'd best pull Avery aside later and tell him what she'd seen. It could be anything of course, though it would probably be prudent to find out if it was anything dangerous. Of course, the unicorn could just be playing some sort of game, Stiletto didn't know.

She was about to reply to 'Painting Craft's' question when the ash unicorn recited their names. Stiletto chuckled lightly, "Hey I'm not grey," she declared. "I'm Stiletto, and I'm sky blue," she introduced herself, keeping her tone light. That was a tad annoying, though she supposed they'd just met and it was easy to mix them up. She frowned as he appeared to search in the dirt for something and then looked up with a smile at the other ponies. "Umm, nice to meet you all. I take it you ponies all going to help set up the fair? We were just on our way to the castle to see what needed doing." Though from the looks of it, the weather team had yet to clear the sky. Maybe her, the other pegasus and Avery could give it a shot. It would be fun to do that with him again, as well as help out the fair.

"That much is true." Darky said after Stiletto said her name. She didn't looked that gray to him, he was grey after all. "Anyways, my name is Darkness Knight." He then said making a really soft smile to the others. He heard the names of the others, but he was interested in the alicorn, he was Tia's son after all. So, his name was Avery...

"Is good to know everypony is fine." Darky said making a small smile, sighing in relief. He took out an apple from his saddlebag with his wing and started eating it with a soft smile, showing how much he liked them. He then noticed that everypony in there used magic... except him and Stiletto. He looked at her, perhaps she was thinking the same as him, being a bit happy for not being the only one that was not able to use magic at all.

"I came to have a good time in the fair." Darky said smiling after Stiletto asked what where they doing in there. "I already got myself a bag of apples." he said making a bright smile. His saddlebag was full of hem, how many did he bought for AJ?! He then noticed that there was an area that hadn't been cleaned by the weather team. "But perhaps helping this place a little wouldn't do any harm." He then added.

Darky turned to Avery after a moment. "So, you are Tia's son am i right?" He asked Avery with a gentle smile. "You are the only alicorn in here, apart from Twi." He said. Well, it made sense for him that he, being an alicorn, was her son. "I hadn't seen her or..." He blushed a bit. "...Luna for a while." He said, then his blush disappeared. He then turned to the rest of the group. "Well, is good to meet you all:" he said making another smile. He looked quite... happy? He looked Cheerful since they met, looking calm when he needed to only.

So, the pink unicorn was Painting Craft, the grey unicorn was Dawn, and the grey Pegasus was Darkness Knight. Well, these were certainly a good set of ponies, though Avery didn't see where any earth ponies were in the group. He saw a few before, like that one orange pony with the strange hat back in Pinkie's party, who she was, he didn't know, though it would be nice to meet more earth ponies other than Pinkie.

Though, as Avery thought about this, he heard Dawn say something about glasses. Glasses... weren't they some kind of glass lens used to help see? They were rare... at least he thought they were when he first got here. He hasn't seen anyone wear glasses in a while, at least by his standards. They were usually in a pair, with an arch in the center for the nose, he remembered one time he had to wear them from a... blank.

Memories are still missing, only bits and pieces are still there. Perhaps having some time spent with these other ponies would help him remember where he was before. But wait, we still need to find glasses!

Avery looks over to Dawn, who seems to be looking for his glasses around the ground somewhere. The grey Alicorn scans the ground to find those particular set of glasses, passed the hoof ridden path? In the tall grass? No... none of them shined, glasses had a reflective glare in the sun. None of the places he looked at were giving off that shine.

Wait, there was the shine! Using his magic, he started to levitate a pair of glasses off the ground, gently shaking them of the dirt on them. If anyone using magic paid attention to his aura, his was... far more sparked than usual, almost like he was casting a harmful spell, though all he's doing was lifting glasses from the ground.

"Hey Dawn? Are these your glasses?" Avery says as he puts the glasses on Dawn's face so that he knew where they were.

He turned his head toward Darkness, hearing a question. Well, it was going to come sooner or later, might as well be now. It was still uneasy that he was being called Celestia's son, like it was an honor to have that title. He didn't like having a title like that, it made him feel like he never earned it fairly. ...Not that being the son of someone wasn't a fair warning... that... never mind.

Avery simply shrugged at Darkness "I guess I am, I didn't want to beleive it at first, but everyone kept telling me: 'you're a prince, son of the sun princess, oh my the lost prince'. It.. kinda gets annoying after a while."

He then said "Well, it's certainly nice to meet you all. Though I would've liked a more... casual meeting persay, but this works just fine too. Heheh."

Avery gently smiles, knowing that this might just be a grand day. Though, with all of this going on he almost forgot that they were heading the castle! ...Well he would've forgot, without Stiletto saying where they were going to the others. It was nice having her around, she keeps him from forgetting too many things.

"Hey, since we're all going to help out the fair in some way, why don't we head on over to the castle to see what needs to get done still?" Avery suggests, looking back over to the large crystal like castle. He was really excited for the fair, he hasn't celebrated something like this before. At least as far as he remembers anyway.

Shadow's face turned up into a smile that nopony seemed to have caught the stumble in her name. "Honestly dear, a title is a title, you never know when it comes in handy someday, if you do need a disguise to walk about, you'll know who to call," Shadow pointed to herself before also remembering Rarity's fabulous boutique of clothing.

"Or, Rarity's Boutique is a dynasty in its own words," Shadow Cocoon listened to A very before chuckling herself. "But of course, was quite the bumpy one wasn't? " She laughed again before re-tightening her saddle bags with a tug of her teeth and double checking everything she needed was inside.

"Agreed Avery, let us make haste to the castle," she smiled at everypony before passing a second group of ponies who were also going t be attending the fair. Shadow breathed in deeply as she walked past, the aromas of friendship was great but when somepony had a secret crush, it was EVEN better.

As her hooves stepped onto the castle's stairs, Shadow looked up to see the gems glittering and the magnificent structure of the castle looming above them. "Avery, meet the Friendship Castle," Shadow's horn glimmered as she entered the castle and sent small fireworks into the air. "Isn't it amazing? "

Dawn was convinced he was shuffling in circles and huffed in distress. Looking else where while having a conversation would annoy almost every pony, and felt informal he could not look them in the eye as they spoke. losing his glasses was beginning to feel more stressful than all his other sketches shown to the world "My apologizes, I will formally avoid incorrectly stating colours in future." He tried, and it was the best he could do in his current state. It sounded right but there was no way it would send the right message if he was staring at the ground the whole time.

which grey blotch was which? she said sky blue, but they all look the same grey colour. Suddenly the world became clear again, he had his glasses back as a contribution from Avery "Ah, Yes! Thank you, Sir" he bowed his head a moment in a grateful motion and with this repossessed clarity he noticed that the glow from his horn was unnaturally powerful. Most certainly did not seem like weak magic, he tilted his head slightly as to pour the questions out, it was not his business in any imagination.

However the questions didn’t disappear that simply, he side stepped and peaked at his flank hoping his cutie mark would provide a little insight. His last expectation was met and he stood baffled at the complete lack of any insight, Blank?

He turned to Stiletto, she was a blueish colour he admitted but he immediately looked at her cutie mark. Was it Smoke? Maybe Mist? didn’t matter, she had one. Paint craft had a paint brush, it was there. Darkness over there had something winged, he had his cutie mark. His own was still there, thankfully, and it could only be interpreted as line work of a circular north star. This Alicorn is well into his stallion years, how did he not possess one? compelled to inquire, he questioned in a over curious tone and narrowed his eyes through the lens like he were studying them “Where is your cutie mark?”

It seemed they were all okay. That was good. Stiletto smiled happily at each of the gathered ponies, content to observe as Avery retrieved Dawn's glasses, and was questioned by 'Painting Craft' and Darkness Knight. Naturally they would have questions for him, he was an alicorn prince after all. The veritable oddity at the moment. She was sure news of his arrival would have spread, so at least he wasn't being mobbed. Still, she was a little concerned that these ponies had simply decided to say 'hi' because he was an alicorn. Not that Stiletto really cared, though she wanted his friends to be true to him. Between 'Painting Craft' lying about her name and a flurry of emotion radiating from Darkness' aura when he mentioned Princess Luna, she was a tad suspicious of them. The only one she wasn't suspicious of was Dawn in fact, though he had an air of formality about him that rubbed her the wrong way.

Still, she could be wrong of course. She hoped all of these signals were nothing, and that they could get back to what was really important. The fair. Still, it bothered her. After all, she needed to look out for him a little bit. Having no memory of Equestria and only being around ponies a few weeks would no doubt mean he had to get back into things slowly. Still, he'd handled himself well this past week. Perhaps she was worrying over nothing. Still, she wanted to spend as much time as she could with him. She'd just have to do it with all these other ponies as well. Maybe Painting Craft had a good reason to lie about her name and maybe Darkness just didn't like the Princesses, like her. Still, she would tell Avery about it later.

"Alright, let's go," she said. She fell in behind Avery, letting the others ask their questions, though keeping a keen eye on him just in case. She smiled at him encouragingly as she passed his sight line, a slight gesture to talk to the other ponies if he could.

As she fell back behind Avery as they walked, she couldn't help but catch Dark's eye and gestured for him to follow if he wanted. Perhaps with Avery making friends, she could make a friend too. Though she was curious to know what that bubble of emotion was. It had felt happy, but also nervous and embarrassing. Strange. "So," she addressed Dark, eyeing his saddle bag. "That's a lot of apples for one pony. Mind if I take one?" she asked with a smile. Stiletto couldn't help but wonder what he did as well. He was tall and lean, a happy and calm look on him. His cutie mark was a sword between wings. Was he some sort of fighter? "So, what do you do? I'm curious, I don't think I've seen you around Ponyville before. Mind you, I don't know everpony in Ponyville. I'm fairly new here myself." She smiled at him again, then looked up at the approaching castle if he decided to follow. If not, then well, she'd been talking to herself.

The castle was a lot bigger than she'd thought it would be. Its glittering jewels and spires were a wonder to behold, especially as she was now up close. But wait, what was that? Why were there fireworks? Surely there wasn't some sort of fanfare for Avery. No, it was just 'Painting Craft'. Showing off. Stiletto gritted her teeth in annoyance. In fact, she was taking the lead, showing Avery the sights. What was her game? There was definitely something off about the mare...

Darky smiled to Avery after he replied to his question. "I see..." he said as he thought all he said. So he was right after all, he was Tia's son. He chuckled to himself and wondered if he may use him to get clo- No! You are not that kind of pony! Darky sighed and shook his head to calm down and looked to the rest of the group and took an apple from his bag. He then smiled to Avery. "Well, nice to meet you." he said making a sincere smile.

After a moment he noticed that the other pegasus, Stiletto if he remembered correctly, was looking at him. He first didn't knew what to say about it, but then just made a small smile to her. He then noticed she gestured him to follow. He didn't had anything else to do, so he shrugged and followed her, looking at her and then he heard that she started asking him Something.

He smiled to her after hearing her first question. "Sure, I don't mind." He said as he took out an apple and gave it to her with his wing, then kept walking until he heard her second question. What did he do. He was not sure how to answer that. "Well, I... I don't have any work right now to be honest." He admitted as they walked. "I had a lot of works around equestria, but I currently just go every now and then to train with the royal guards and Night guards in the castle." He explained. "And don't worry, I'm also sort of new here. I spend a lot of time in Canterlot, but I know several ponies around here." he said smiling.

As they arrived to the castle he noticed that the pony that called herself 'Painting Craft' had taken the lead and now some fireworks where coming from the castle. He then looked at Stiletto and saw that she was gritting her teeth. What was with her? Something troubling her to what the other mare was doing? It looked that she was just showing up to Avery. Wait... that meant... he understood. He would feel the same if somepony did the same with Luna.

"Hey, you alright?" He asked Stiletto after a moment.

Avery troted toward the large crystal castle with the new group of ponies that he has had the chance to meet. The castle itself he's seen a few times while helping out Stiletto with chores and jobs, it was pretty from a distance, but being this close to it was almost breath taking. To think that Twilight has this entire castle all to herself was mind bending, he wouldn't know what to do with all that space. But now they were going inside this giant thing?

Well, they were indeed! The inside of the Friendship Castle was just as decorated as it was outside, only without the constant shining of the sun glaring through it. Still, the entire thing was made of crystal, which was impressive in and of itself. Though, Avery recalls that there's an entire empire of crystal somewhere in Equestria, but this is a first for him.

Though as he was gawking at the scenery, he was snapped back into conversation by a sudden spark explosion above him, which was Painting's firework. He blinks and looks at the falling sparks from above, then to Painting who asked about the castle itself. He took another glance around, trying to get everything in his head before saying

"Yeah, it certainly is amazing. I haven't really seen the inside of this place, but just seeing that its completely made of crystal is beyond me. It's like it was made through magic or something." Now Avery hasn't been completely informed about the most recent events that led to this moment, he was just given fauge hints about enemies of the past, which just leads him into more confusion.

Avery wanted to walk further in, before he was stopped by Dawn and asking about where his Cutie Mark was. Avery takes a quick glance at his flank to see nothing there and looks back to Dawn and shrugs. "I... don't know? I just haven't found my talent I guess. Or whatever is supposed to be my duty or something. I mean... yeah, it's kinda weird that everypony else has a Cutie Mark and I don't... but I mean, come on, it can't be that bad." Avery replies rather calmly, thinking it nothing more than the other question from the day before yesterday.

Though, as he said this, it turns out that the entrance hadn't gone unnoticed to Twilight as she appears at the end of the hall with a quizzical look. Though, as she trots down the hall, her face brightens slightly as she recongizes some of the ponies in the group. Though, it seems that her just walking down the hall didn't get Avery's attention, Twilight stood there awkwardly until she coughed a fake cough. This got his attention slightly as he quickly glances back to Twilight, then back to the group, and then fully turned around once it clicked that Twilight was standing there.

"Oh! Hey Twilight!" he says first as she bows in response

"Hello there Avery, I can see that... you brought some new friends?" She says as she glances at Painting, Dawn, and Darkness with a nervous smile.

Avery nods "Yeah, just met them outside. But hey, we were wondering if there was anything for us to do around the fair?"

Twilight blinks before taking out a clipboard and flipping through the papers "Well... you know you don't need to do anything, right Avery? Since you should actually be getting ready for the time for Celestia offically announces your return."

Avery simply blinks at this "So... even though I'm right here, I need to be ofiically announced about my return..?"

Twilight nervously nods "Y-Yes... Even though you're walking about here and there, you have to remember that nopony knows who you are besides the royals and those that actually pay attention. You were nothing but a myth for several hundred years."

Avery sighs nodding, knowing that that is what happened from what he's told. Though he spoke up again "But I still at least want to help out! It'll at least give me something to work for besides being pushed away just because I'm some son of the sun princess."

Twilight pauses for a moment before nodding "Of course, it must difficult with how Ponyville acts around royalty. They'll just end up putting them last even though you're in need of bits, right? Well... I've got a list here that needs to be done."

Twilight shows the list to everyone in the hall, pointing to each one with a quill pen "Rainbow need to clear the skies today for the event to go smoothly. Rarity is in charge of most of the decorations for the event plaza just outside the castle, knowing her, she would like the assitance. Applejack and Pinkie are in charge of food and drinks if you would like to help with that. Discord should be here when Celestia and Luna arrive for entertainment, though he's doing his act with Fluttershy. There are the needs for games and tent setup with Mayor Mare if you would like to do that as well. And that's about it! ...Unless you would like to help me and Spike with making sure everything is prepared properly, with how Celestia wanted to make this as spectacular as possible for your first time seeing it Avery."

Avery looks over the list as he listens to Twilight, hearing about all these tasks to get done for today. It was certainly more than enough for him to do. Though choosing over all of these were difficult, and hearing these new names were starting to weigh on him as he had to remember them as well as the job that needed to be done while figuring out where they are. But, as long as he's doing this with friends, both new and old, he's happy.

"Well, I'm sure that I can do most of these, but how about everypony else gets to choose? I think that'll be more fair. But, I think I'll check in with how everything is a bit later, probably when mother and auntie arrive, that good with you?" Avery says as he looks to the group, then to Twilight for the last bit before turning back to the group once she nods.

Shadow listened to Twilight also bowing and casting a small wave towards the Alicorn Princess of Friendship. Shadow was so excited to today and hadn't been able to sleep for the past week, the music, the design, the decorations, the acts and the Princesses!

"Oh my how mighty fun this shall be!" She reeled back with a giggle as she heard Rarity's name mentioned, she smiled to herself as she thought of Rarity's spectacular designs and skills. She never failed to be brilliant in what she did and Shadow had a great respect for Rarity's abilties in clothing. The Charing was just simply artistic and not too much on the clothes side.

"Anypony have a preference? How about you Stiletto, want to go anywhere special?" She asked politely noticing that the Pegasi was looking a bit confused or whatever she may be thinking as she looked at some of the ponies in the group, each in turn.

What a peculiar pegasus! 'Painting Craft's' eyes looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

((Feel the tension! Mwahaha! XD))

'Can't be that bad?' Dawn didn't find the brush off very amusing, though he had asked Avery due to his curiosity. He had to at lest respect what they choose to share and what they didn't, He let it slid into silence and kept his questions to himself as he followed the group inside the castle. He observed the exchange between Avery and Twilight quietly as he consider what his usefulness would extended to. He was not a Pegasus and while there were a spell he could try to clean all the clouds away, he didn't think they would appreciate him taking away their jobs, or the potential damage it could cause. He couldn't manage cooking, even for a second of his life. Him being anywhere near food was a perfect recipe for disaster and not much else, while it would be amusing to watch him fail cooking, he didn't think he could stand in front of a crowd or conduct any sort of entertainment. When look from Paint came, he shook his head at her "While I have no issues doing any of the jobs described, I do not have any ability in cloud clearing, farming, cooking or entertainment. So I am confined to help either, The Princess, Mayor Mare or... Rarity? If you want me to be one hundred percent useful."

He had to guess which name was assigned to the decoration, despite hearing it a moment ago. He toke a short glance around to see what exactly the princess was doing here to no real avail. Were they budgeting? Pony power handling? or observation and management?. Guessing wasn't helping in this, at lest looking at the castle from the inside was a lot better than from the outside.
